We consider a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with preemptive resume, collisions of customers and general retrial times. We analyze the Markov chain underlying the considered queueing system and derive its ergodicity condition. Using generating function technique, the system state distribution as well as the orbit size and the system size distributions are studied. Some interesting and important performance measures are obtained. Besides, the stochastic decomposition property is investigated. Finally, some numerical examples are provided.  相似文献

The m/g/1 retrial queue with nonpersistent customers   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We consider anM/G/1 retrial queue in which blocked customers may leave the system forever without service. Basic equations concerning the system in steady state are established in terms of generating functions. An indirect method (the method of moments) is applied to solve the basic equations and expressions for related factorial moments, steady-state probabilities and other system performance measures are derived in terms of server utilization. A numerical algorithm is then developed for the calculation of the server utilization and some numerical results are presented.  相似文献

We consider a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue in which the retrial time has a general distribution and the server, after each service completion, begins a process of search in order to find the following customer to be served. We study the Markov chain underlying the considered queueing system and its ergodicity condition. We find the generating function of the number of customers in the orbit and in the system. We derive the stochastic decomposition law and as an application we give bounds for the proximity between the steady-state distributions for our queueing system and its corresponding standard system. Also, we develop recursive formulae for calculating the steady-state distribution of the orbit and system sizes. Besides, we prove that the M/G/1 retrial queue with general retrial times can be approximated by our corresponding discrete-time system. Finally, we give numerical examples to illustrate the effect of the parameters on several performance characteristics.  相似文献

An M/G/1 retrial queueing system with additional phase of service and possible preemptive resume service discipline is considered. For an arbitrarily distributed retrial time distribution, the necessary and sufficient condition for the system stability is obtained, assuming that only the customer at the head of the orbit has priority access to the server. The steady-state distributions of the server state and the number of customers in the orbit are obtained along with other performance measures. The effects of various parameters on the system performance are analysed numerically. A general decomposition law for this retrial queueing system is established.  相似文献

We consider anM/G/1 priority retrial queueing system with two types of calls which models a telephone switching system and a cellular mobile communication system. In the case that arriving calls are blocked due to the server being busy, type I calls are queued in a priority queue of finite capacityK whereas type II calls enter the retrial group in order to try service again after a random amount of time. In this paper we find the joint generating function of the numbers of calls in the priority queue and the retrial group in closed form. When 1=0, it is shown that our results are consistent with the known results for a classical retrial queueing system.  相似文献

An MMBP/Geo/1 queue with correlated positive and negative customer arrivals is studied. In the infinite-capacity queueing system, positive customers and negative customers are generated by a Bernoulli bursty source with two correlated geometrically distributed periods. I.e., positive and negative customers arrive to the system according to two different geometrical arrival processes. Under the late arrival scheme (LAS), two removal disciplines caused by negative customers are investigated in the paper. In individual removal scheme, a negative customer removes a positive customer in service if any, while in disaster model, a negative customer removes all positive customers in the system if any. The negative customer arrival has no effect on the system if it finds the system empty. We analyze the Markov chains underlying the queueing systems and evaluate the performance of two systems based on generating functions technique. Some explicit solutions of the system, such as the average buffer content and the stationary probabilities are obtained. Finally, the effect of several parameters on the system performance is shown numerically.  相似文献

We analyse a single-server retrial queueing system with infinite buffer, Poisson arrivals, general distribution of service time and linear retrial policy. If an arriving customer finds the server occupied, he joins with probabilityp a retrial group (called orbit) and with complementary probabilityq a priority queue in order to be served. After the customer is served completely, he will decide either to return to the priority queue for another service with probability ϑ or to leave the system forever with probability =1−ϑ, where 0≤ϑ<1. We study the ergodicity of the embedded Markov chain, its stationary distribution function and the joint generating function of the number of customers in both groups in the steady-state regime. Moreover, we obtain the generating function of system size distribution, which generalizes the well-knownPollaczek-Khinchin formula. Also we obtain a stochastic decomposition law for our queueing system and as an application we study the asymptotic behaviour under high rate of retrials. The results agree with known special cases. Finally, we give numerical examples to illustrate the effect of the parameters on several performance characteristics.  相似文献

This paper deals with a single server retrial queueing system subject to active and independent breakdowns. The objective is to extend the results given independently by Aissani [1] and Kulkarni and Choi [15]. To this end, we introduce the concept of fundamental server period and an auxiliary queueing system with breakdowns and option for leaving the system. Then, we concentrate our attention on the limiting distribution of the system state. We obtain simplified expressions for the partial generating functions of the server state and the number of customers in the retrial group, a recursive scheme for computing the limiting probabilities and closed-form formulae for the second order partial moments. Some stochastic decomposition results are also investigated. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

We consider anM/M/1 retrial queueing system in which the retrial time has a general distribution and only the customer at the head of the queue is allowed to retry for service. We find a necessary and sufficient condition for ergodicity and, when this is satisfied, the generating function of the distribution of the number of customers in the queue and the Laplace transform of the waiting time distribution under steady-state conditions. The results agree with known results for special cases.Supported by KOSEF 90-08-00-02.  相似文献

We consider a retrial queueing model with collision arising from the specific communication protocolCSMAICD. Under the retrial control policy in which the retrial rate is inversely proportional to the number of customers in the retrial group, we derive the generating function of the limiting distribution of the number of customers in the retrial group at the moment when the channel is free. Using the theory of Markov regenerative processes, we also obtain the limiting distribution of the number of customers in the system at arbitrary time points. This paper was supported in part by the Non-Directed Research Fund, Korea Research Foundation, 1990.  相似文献

This paper studies a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue where the server is subject to starting failures. We analyse the Markov chain underlying the regarded queueing system and present some performance measures of the system in steady-state. Then, we give two stochastic decomposition laws and find a measure of the proximity between the system size distributions of our model and the corresponding model without retrials. We also develop a procedure for calculating the distributions of the orbit and system size as well as the marginal distributions of the orbit size when the server is idle, busy or down. Besides, we prove that the M/G/1 retrial queue with starting failures can be approximated by its discrete-time counterpart. Finally, some numerical examples show the influence of the parameters on several performance characteristics. This work is supported by the DGINV through the project BFM2002-02189.  相似文献

Single server retrial queueing models in which customers arrive according to a batch Poisson process are considered here. An arriving batch, finding the server busy, enters an orbit. Otherwise, one customer from the arriving batch enters for service immediately while the rest join the orbit. The customers from the orbit (the orbital customers) try to reach the server subsequently with the inter-retrial times exponentially distributed. Additionally, at each service completion epoch, two different search mechanisms, that is, type I and type II search, to bring the orbital customers by the system to service, are switched on. Thus, when the server is idle, a competition takes place among primary customers, customers who come by retrial and by two types of searches. The type I search selects a single customer whereas the type II search considers a batch of customers from the orbit. Depending on the maximum size of the batch being considered for service by a type II search, two cases are addressed here. In the first case, no restriction on batch size is assumed, whereas in the second case, maximum size of the batch is restricted to a pre-assigned value. We call the resulting models as model 1 and model 2 respectively. In all service modes other than type II search, only a single customer is qualified for service. Service times of the four types of customers, namely, primary, repeated, and those who come by two types of searches are arbitrarily distributed (with different distributions which are independent of each other). Steady state analysis is performed and stability conditions are established. A control problem for model 2 is considered and numerical illustrations are provided.  相似文献

Two independent Poisson streams of jobs flow into a single-server service system having a limited common buffer that can hold at most one job. If a type- $i$ job ( $i=1,2$ ) finds the server busy, it is blocked and routed to a separate type- $i$ retrial (orbit) queue that attempts to re-dispatch its jobs at its specific Poisson rate. This creates a system with three dependent queues. Such a queueing system serves as a model for two competing job streams in a carrier sensing multiple access system. We study the queueing system using multi-dimensional probability generating functions, and derive its necessary and sufficient stability conditions while solving a Riemann–Hilbert boundary value problem. Various performance measures are calculated and numerical results are presented. In particular, numerical results demonstrate that the proposed multiple access system with two types of jobs and constant retrial rates provides incentives for the users to respect their contracts.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a retrial queueing model with the server subject to starting failures. We first present the necessary and sufficient condition for the system to be stable and derive analytical results for the queue length distribution as well as some performance measures of the system in steady state. We show that the general stochastic decomposition law forM/G/1 vacation models also holds for the present system. Finally, we demonstrate that a few well known queueing models are special cases of the present model and discuss various interpretations of the stochastic decomposition law when applied to each of these special cases.Partially supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, grant OGP0046415.Partially supported by internal research grant of Mount Saint Vincent University.  相似文献

Summary This paper is concerned with the study of a newM/G/1 retrial queueing system in which the delays between retrials are exponentially distributed random variables with linear intensityg(n)=α+nμ, when there aren≥1 customers in the retrial group. This new retrial discipline will be calledlinear control policy. We carry out an extensive analysis of the model, including existence of stationary regime, stationary distribution of the embedded Markov chain at epochs of service completions, joint distribution of the orbit size and the server state in steady state and busy period. The results agree with known results for special cases.  相似文献

This paper deals with a multiserver feedback retrial queueing system with finite waiting position and constant retrial rate. This system is analyzed as a quasi-birth-and-death (QBD) process and the necessary and sufficient condition for stability of the system is investigated. Some important system performance measures are obtained using matrix geometric method. The effect of various parameters on the system performance measures are illustrated numerically. Finally, the algorithmic development of the full busy period for the model under consideration is discussed.  相似文献

This paper concerns a discrete-time Geo/Geo/1 retrial queue with both positive and negative customers where the server is subject to breakdowns and repairs due to negative arrivals. The arrival of a negative customer causes one positive customer to be killed if any is present, and simultaneously breaks the server down. The server is sent to repair immediately and after repair it is as good as new. The negative customer also causes the server breakdown if the server is found idle, but has no effect on the system if the server is under repair. We analyze the Markov chain underlying the queueing system and obtain its ergodicity condition. The generating function of the number of customers in the orbit and in the system are also obtained, along with the marginal distributions of the orbit size when the server is idle, busy or down. Finally, we present some numerical examples to illustrate the influence of the parameters on several performance characteristics of the system.  相似文献
