The numerical differentiation is often used when dealing with the differential equations. Using the numerical differentiation, the differential equations can be transformed into algebraic equations. Then we can get the numerical solution from the algebraic equations. But the numerical differentiation process is very sensitive to even a small level of errors. In contrast, it is expected that on average the numerical integration process is much less sensitive to errors. In this paper, we provide a new method using the DQ method based on the interpolation of the highest derivative (DQIHD) for the differential equations. The original function is then obtained by integration. In this paper, the DQIHD method was applied to the buckling analysis of thin isotropic plates and Winkler plates, the numerical results agree well with the analytic solutions, and the results show that our method is of high accuracy, of good convergence with little computational efforts. And it is easy to deal with the boundary conditions.

This paper proposes operational matrix of rth integration of Chebyshev wavelets. A general procedure of this matrix is given. Operational matrix of rth integration is taken as rth power of operational matrix of first integration in literature. But, this study removes this disadvantage of Chebyshev wavelets method. Free vibration problems of non-uniform Euler–Bernoulli beam under various supporting conditions are investigated by using Chebyshev Wavelet Collocation Method. The proposed method is based on the approximation by the truncated Chebyshev wavelet series. A homogeneous system of linear algebraic equations has been obtained by using the Chebyshev collocation points. The determinant of coefficients matrix is equated to the zero for nontrivial solution of homogeneous system of linear algebraic equations. Hence, we can obtain ith natural frequencies of the beam and the coefficients of the approximate solution of Chebyshev wavelet series that satisfied differential equation and boundary conditions. Mode shapes functions corresponding to the natural frequencies can be obtained by normalizing of approximate solutions. The computed results well fit with the analytical and numerical results as in the literature. These calculations demonstrate that the accuracy of the Chebyshev wavelet collocation method is quite good even for small number of grid points.  相似文献

An approximate method to solve the Cauchy problem for normal and canonical systems of second-order ordinary differential equations is proposed. The method is based on the representation of a solution and its derivative at each integration step in the form of partial sums of series in shifted Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind. A Markov quadrature formula is used to derive the equations for the approximate values of Chebyshev coefficients in the right-hand sides of systems. Some sufficient convergence conditions are obtained for the iterative method solving these equations. Several error estimates for the approximate Chebyshev coefficients and for the solution are given with respect to the integration step size.  相似文献

In this study, we use the spectral collocation method using Chebyshev polynomials for spatial derivatives and fourth order Runge–Kutta method for time integration to solve the generalized Burger’s–Fisher equation (B–F). Firstly, theory of application of Chebyshev spectral collocation method (CSCM) and domain decomposition on the generalized Burger’s–Fisher equation is presented. This method yields a system of ordinary differential algebraic equations (DAEs). Secondly, we use fourth order Runge–Kutta formula for the numerical integration of the system of DAEs. The numerical results obtained by this way have been compared with the exact solution to show the efficiency of the method.  相似文献

In this paper, a robust and accurate algorithm for solving both linear and nonlinear singular boundary value problems is proposed. We introduce the Chebyshev wavelets operational matrix of derivative and product operation matrix. Chebyshev wavelets expansions together with operational matrix of derivative are employed to solve ordinary differential equations in which, at least, one of the coefficient functions or solution function is not analytic. Several examples are included to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

The current paper presents a scheme, which combines Fourier spectral method and Chebyshev tau meshless method based on the highest derivative (CTMMHD) to solve the nonlinear KdV equation and the good Boussinesq equation. Fourier spectral method is used to approximate the spatial variable, and the problem is converted to a series of equations with Fourier coefficients as unknowns. Then, CTMMHD is applied blockwise in time direction. For the long time computing of solitons, we introduce the computational area moving technique. The numerical results show that the accuracy of Fourier-CTMMHD is good and the computational area moving technique makes the long-time numerical behavior well for the problems with solitons moving towards the same direction.  相似文献

In this paper, a new and effective direct method to determine the numerical solution of pantograph equation, pantograph equation with neutral term and Multiple-delay Volterra integral equation with large domain is proposed. The pantograph equation is a delay differential equation which arises in quite different fields of pure and applied mathematics, such as number theory, dynamical systems, probability, mechanics and electrodynamics. The method consists of expanding the required approximate solution as the elements of Chebyshev cardinal functions. The operational matrices for the integration, product and delay of the Chebyshev cardinal functions are presented. A general procedure for forming these matrices is given. These matrices play an important role in modelling of problems. By using these operational matrices together, a pantograph equation can be transformed to a system of algebraic equations. An efficient error estimation for the Chebyshev cardinal method is also introduced. Some examples are given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the method and a comparison is made with existing results.  相似文献

This paper presents an accurate numerical method for solving a class of fractional variational problems (FVPs). The fractional derivative in these problems is in the Caputo sense. The proposed method is called fractional Chebyshev finite difference method. In this technique, we approximate FVPs and end up with a finite‐dimensional problem. The method is based on the combination of the useful properties of Chebyshev polynomials approximation and finite difference method. The Caputo fractional derivative is replaced by a difference quotient and the integral by a finite sum. The fractional derivative approximation using Clenshaw and Curtis formula introduced here, along with Clenshaw and Curtis procedure for the numerical integration of a non‐singular functions and the Rayleigh–Ritz method for the constrained extremum, is considered. By this method, the given problem is reduced to the problem for solving a system of algebraic equations, and by solving this system, we obtain the solution of FVPs. Special attention is given to study the convergence analysis and evaluate an error upper bound of the obtained approximate formula. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed technique. A comparison with another method is given. In this study, we use the spectral collocation method using Chebyshev polynomials for spatial derivatives and fourth order Runge–Kutta method for time integration to solve the generalized Burger’s–Huxley equation (GBHE). To reduce round-off error in spectral collocation (pseudospectral) method we use preconditioning. Firstly, theory of application of Chebyshev spectral collocation method with preconditioning (CSCMP) and domain decomposition on the generalized Burger’s–Huxley equation presented. This method yields a system of ordinary differential algebric equations (DAEs). Secondly, we use fourth order Runge–Kutta formula for the numerical integration of the system of DAEs. The numerical results obtained by this way have been compared with the exact solution to show the efficiency of the method.  相似文献

In this study, we propose an efficient and accurate numerical technique that is called the rational Chebyshev collocation (RCC) method to solve the two dimensional flow of a viscous fluid in the vicinity of a stagnation point named Hiemenz flow. The Navier-Stokes equations governing the flow, are reduced to a third-order ordinary differential equation of a boundary value problem with a semi-infinite domain by using similarity transformation. The rational Chebyshev method reduces this nonlinear ordinary differential equation to a system of algebraic equations. This technique is a powerful type of the collocation methods for solving the boundary value problems over a semi-infinite interval without truncating it to a finite domain. We also present the comparison of this work with others and show that the present method is more accurate and efficient.  相似文献

In general, we will use the numerical differentiation when dealing with the differential equations. Thus the differential equations can be transformed into algebraic equations and then we can get the numerical solutions. But as we all have known, the numerical differentiation process is very sensitive to even a small level of errors. In contrast it is expected that on average the numerical integration process is much less sensitive to errors. In this paper, based on the Sinc method we provide a new method using Sinc method incorporated with the double exponential transformation based on the interpolation of the highest derivatives (SIHD) for the differential equations. The error in the approximation of the solution is shown to converge at an exponential rate. The numerical results show that compared with the exiting results, our method is of high accuracy, of good convergence with little computational efforts. It is easy to treat nonhomogeneous mixed boundary condition for our method, which is unlike the traditional Sinc method.  相似文献

We study linear inhomogeneous vector ordinary differential equations of arbitrary order in which the matrix multiplying the highest derivative of the unknown vector function is singular in the domain where the equations are defined. We also study perturbations (not necessarily small) of such equations, which are linear integro-differential equations with a Volterra operator. We obtain sufficient conditions for the solvability of such equations and give representations of their general solutions; solvability and uniqueness conditions are also given for initial value problems for such equations. The influence of small perturbations of the free term and the initial data on the solution is considered. A numerical method is suggested. The results of numerical experiments are given.  相似文献

This article describes a numerical method based on the boundary integral equation and dual reciprocity method(DRM) for solving the one‐dimensional advection‐diffusion equations. The concept of DRM is used to convert the domain integral to the boundary that leads to an integration free method. The time derivative is approximated by the time‐stepping method. Numerical results are presented for some problems to demonstrate the usefulness and accuracy of the new approach. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2013  相似文献

A new shifted Chebyshev operational matrix (SCOM) of fractional integration of arbitrary order is introduced and applied together with spectral tau method for solving linear fractional differential equations (FDEs). The fractional integration is described in the Riemann–Liouville sense. The numerical approach is based on the shifted Chebyshev tau method. The main characteristic behind the approach using this technique is that only a small number of shifted Chebyshev polynomials is needed to obtain a satisfactory result. Illustrative examples reveal that the present method is very effective and convenient for linear multi-term FDEs.  相似文献

In this paper we study the piecewise collocation method for a class of functional integral equations with state-dependent delays that is, where the delays depend on the solution. It is well known that these equations typically have discontinuity in the solution or its derivatives at the initial point of integration domain. This discontinuity propagated along the integration interval giving rise to subsequent points, called ”singular points”, which can not be determined priori and the solution derivatives in these points are smoothed out along the interval. Most of the known numerical methods for this type of equations are generally very sensitive to the singular points and therefore must have a process that detects these points and insert them into the mesh to guarantee the required accuracy. Here, we present a numerical algorithm based on the piecewise collocation method and an approach for tracking the singular points relying on the recent strategy for implicit delay differential equations which has been proposed by Guglielmi and Hairer in 2008. The convergence analysis of the method is investigated and some numerical experiments are presented for clarifying the robustness of the method.  相似文献

By the use of the Chebyshev series, a direct computational method for solving the higher order nonlinear differential equations has been developed in this paper. This method transforms the nonlinear differential equation into the matrix equation, which corresponds to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations with unknown Chebyshev coefficients, via Chebyshev collocation points. The solution of this system yields the Chebyshev coefficients of the solution function. An algorithm for this nonlinear system is also proposed in this paper. The method is valid for both initial-value and boundary-value problems. Several examples are presented to illustrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the method.  相似文献
