[NiFe] hydrogenase catalyzes the reversible cleavage of H2. The electrons produced by the H2 cleavage pass through three Fe–S clusters in [NiFe] hydrogenase to its redox partner. It has been reported that the Ni‐SIa, Ni‐C, and Ni‐R states of [NiFe] hydrogenase are involved in the catalytic cycle, although the mechanism and regulation of the transition between the Ni‐C and Ni‐SIa states remain unrevealed. In this study, the FT‐IR spectra under light irradiation at 138–198 K show that the Ni‐L state of [NiFe] hydrogenase is an intermediate between the transition of the Ni‐C and Ni‐SIa states. The transition of the Ni‐C state to the Ni‐SIa state occurred when the proximal [Fe4S4]p2+/+ cluster was oxidized, but not when it was reduced. These results show that the catalytic cycle of [NiFe] hydrogenase is controlled by the redox state of its [Fe4S4]p2+/+ cluster, which may function as a gate for the electron flow from the NiFe active site to the redox partner.  相似文献

Mono‐iron hydrogenase ([Fe]‐hydrogenase) reversibly catalyzes the transfer of a hydride ion from H2 to methenyltetrahydromethanopterin (methenyl‐H4MPT+) to form methylene‐H4MPT. Its iron guanylylpyridinol (FeGP) cofactor plays a key role in H2 activation. Evidence is presented for O2 sensitivity of [Fe]‐hydrogenase under turnover conditions in the presence of reducing substrates, methylene‐H4MPT or methenyl‐H4MPT+/H2. Only then, H2O2 is generated, which decomposes the FeGP cofactor; as demonstrated by spectroscopic analyses and the crystal structure of the deactivated enzyme. O2 reduction to H2O2 requires a reductant, which can be a catalytic intermediate transiently formed during the [Fe]‐hydrogenase reaction. The most probable candidate is an iron hydride species; its presence has already been predicted by theoretical studies of the catalytic reaction. The findings support predictions because the same type of reduction reaction is described for ruthenium hydride complexes that hydrogenate polar compounds.  相似文献

The mechanism of the catalytic reduction of palmitic acid to n‐pentadecane at 260 °C in the presence of hydrogen over catalysts combining multiple functions has been explored. The reaction involves rate‐determining reduction of the carboxylic group of palmitic acid to give hexadecanal, which is catalyzed either solely by Ni or synergistically by Ni and the ZrO2 support. The latter route involves adsorption of the carboxylic acid group at an oxygen vacancy of ZrO2 and abstraction of the α‐H with elimination of O to produce the ketene, which is in turn hydrogenated to the aldehyde over Ni sites. The aldehyde is subsequently decarbonylated to n‐pentadecane on Ni. The rate of deoxygenation of palmitic acid is higher on Ni/ZrO2 than that on Ni/SiO2 or Ni/Al2O3, but is slower than that on H‐zeolite‐supported Ni. As the partial pressure of H2 is decreased, the overall deoxygenation rate decreases. In the absence of H2, ketonization catalyzed by ZrO2 is the dominant reaction. Pd/C favors direct decarboxylation (?CO2), while Pt/C and Raney Ni catalyze the direct decarbonylation pathway (?CO). The rate of deoxygenation of palmitic acid (in units of mmol moltotal metal?1 h?1) decreases in the sequence r(Pt black)r(Pd black)>r(Raney Ni) in the absence of H2. In situ IR spectroscopy unequivocally shows the presence of adsorbed ketene (C?C?O) on the surface of ZrO2 during the reaction with palmitic acid at 260 °C in the presence or absence of H2.  相似文献

A [NiFe] hydrogenase (H2ase) is a proton‐coupled electron transfer enzyme that catalyses reversible H2 oxidation; however, its fundamental proton transfer pathway remains unknown. Herein, we observed the protonation of Cys546‐SH and Glu34‐COOH near the Ni–Fe site with high‐sensitivity infrared difference spectra by utilizing Ni‐C‐to‐Ni‐L and Ni‐C‐to‐Ni‐SIa photoconversions. Protonated Cys546‐SH in the Ni‐L state was verified by the observed SH stretching frequency (2505 cm?1), whereas Cys546 was deprotonated in the Ni‐C and Ni‐SIa states. Glu34‐COOH was double H‐bonded in the Ni‐L state, as determined by the COOH stretching frequency (1700 cm?1), and single H‐bonded in the Ni‐C and Ni‐SIa states. Additionally, a stretching mode of an ordered water molecule was observed in the Ni‐L and Ni‐C states. These results elucidate the organized proton transfer pathway during the catalytic reaction of a [NiFe] H2ase, which is regulated by the H‐bond network of Cys546, Glu34, and an ordered water molecule.  相似文献

Solar‐light‐driven H2 production in water with a [NiFeSe]‐hydrogenase (H2ase) and a bioinspired synthetic nickel catalyst (NiP) in combination with a heptazine carbon nitride polymer, melon (CNx), is reported. The semibiological and purely synthetic systems show catalytic activity during solar light irradiation with turnover numbers (TONs) of more than 50 000 mol H2 (mol H2ase)?1 and approximately 155 mol H2 (mol NiP)?1 in redox‐mediator‐free aqueous solution at pH 6 and 4.5, respectively. Both systems maintained a reduced photoactivity under UV‐free solar light irradiation (λ>420 nm).  相似文献

Nature uses hydrogenase enzyme to catalyze proton reduction at pH 7 with overpotentials and catalytic efficiencies that rival platinum electrodes. Over the past several years, [FeFe]‐hydrogenase ([FeFe]‐H2ase) mimics have been demonstrated to be effective catalysts for light‐driven H2 evolution. However, it remains a significant challenge to realize H2 production by such an artificial photosynthetic system in neutral aqueous solution. Herein, we report a new system for photocatalytic H2 evolution working in a broad pH range, especially under neutral conditions. This unique system is consisted of branched polyethylenimine (PEI)‐grafted [FeFe]‐H2ase mimic (PEI‐g‐Fe2S2 ), MPA‐CdSe quantum dots (MPA=mercaptopropionic acid), and ascorbic acid (H2A) in water. Due to the secondary coordination sphere of PEI, which has high buffering capacity and stabilizing ability, the system is able to produce H2 under visible‐light irradiation with turnover number of 10 600 based on the Fe2S2 active site in PEI‐g‐Fe2S2 . The stability and activity are much better than that of the same system under acidic or basic conditions and they are, to the best of our knowledge, the highest known to date for photocatalytic H2 evolution from a [FeFe]‐H2ase mimic in neutral aqueous solution.  相似文献

Three metal‐organic coordination polymers, namely {[Cd(L1)(1,2‐chdc)] · 2H2O}n ( 1 ), {[Ni(L2)(1,2‐chdc)] · H2O}n ( 2 ), and [Cd(L2)(npht)]n ( 3 ) [L1 = 1,2‐bis(2‐methylbenzimidazol‐1‐ylmethyl)benzene, L2 = 1,2‐bis(5,6‐dimethylbenzimidazol‐1‐ylmethyl)benzene, 1,2‐H2chdc = 1,2‐cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, H2npht = 3‐nitrophthalic acid] were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction methods, IR spectroscopy, TGA, and elemental analysis. In compound 1 , two 1,2‐chdc2– ligands connect two neighboring Cd atoms to form a dinuclear [Cd2(1,2‐chdc)2] subunit, which is further linked by L1 ligands to construct a 1D ladder‐like chain. Compound 2 exhibits a 2D (4,4) coordination network with {44.62} topology, whilst compound 3 shows a 1D helical chain structure. The fluorescence, UV/Vis diffuse reflection spectra, and catalytic properties of complexes 1 – 3 for the degradation of the congo red azo dye in a Fenton‐like process are investigated.  相似文献

[FeFe(Cl2-bdt)(CO)6] ( 1 ; Cl2-bdt=3,6-dichlorobenzene-1,2-dithiolate), inspired by the active site of FeFe-hydrogenase, shows a chemically reversible 2 e reduction at −1.20 V versus the ferrocene/ferrocenium couple. The rigid and aromatic bdt bridging ligand lowers the reduction potential and stabilizes the reduced forms, compared with analogous complexes with aliphatic dithiolates; thus allowing details of the catalytic process to be characterized. Herein, time-resolved IR spectroscopy is used to provide kinetic and structural information on key catalytic intermediates. This includes the doubly reduced, protonated complex 1H , which has not been previously identified experimentally. In addition, the first direct spectroscopic observation of the turnover process for a molecular H2 evolving catalyst is reported, allowing for straightforward determination of the turnover frequency.  相似文献

Ni‐W/HZSM5‐HMS catalysts were evaluated for the benzene hydrogenation reaction at 130–190°C. To study the catalyst characterization, X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray fluorescence, Fourier transform infrared, UV–vis, diffuse reflectance spectra, temperature‐programmed desorption of NH3, FT‐IR of adsorbed pyridine measurements (Py‐IR), H2 chemisorption, nitrogen adsorption–desorption, and TGA techniques were used. Kinetics of benzene hydrogenation was investigated under various hydrogen and benzene pressures, and the effect of reaction conditions on catalytic performance was studied. The results showed that bimetallic catalysts have better ability than a monometallic catalyst (Ni/HZSM5‐HMS) for this reaction, such as maximum benzene conversion (100%), minimum toluene conversion (1.76–40%), very low converted xylene, benzene selectivity (100%), good catalytic stability against coke deposition, and appropriate kinetic parameters.  相似文献

The combination of enzymes with semiconductors enables the photoelectrochemical characterization of electron‐transfer processes at highly active and well‐defined catalytic sites on a light‐harvesting electrode surface. Herein, we report the integration of a hydrogenase on a TiO2‐coated p‐Si photocathode for the photo‐reduction of protons to H2. The immobilized hydrogenase exhibits activity on Si attributable to a bifunctional TiO2 layer, which protects the Si electrode from oxidation and acts as a biocompatible support layer for the productive adsorption of the enzyme. The p‐Si|TiO2|hydrogenase photocathode displays visible‐light driven production of H2 at an energy‐storing, positive electrochemical potential and an essentially quantitative faradaic efficiency. We have thus established a widely applicable platform to wire redox enzymes in an active configuration on a p‐type semiconductor photocathode through the engineering of the enzyme–materials interface.  相似文献

In the present work, for the first time we have designed a novel approach for the synthesis of N‐benzyl‐N‐aryl‐5‐amino‐1H‐tetrazoles using reduced graphene oxide (rGO) decorated with Cu‐Ni bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs). In situ synthesis of Cu/Ni/rGO nanocomposite was performed by a cost efficient, surfactant‐free and environmentally benign method using Crataegus azarolus var. aronia L. leaf extract as a stabilizing and reducing agent. Phytochemicals present in the extract can be used to reduce Cu2+ and Ni2+ ions and GO to Cu NPs, Ni NPs and rGO, respectively. Analyses by means of FT‐IR, UV–Vis, EDS, TEM, FESEM, XRD and elemental mapping confirmed the Cu/Ni/rGO formation and also FT‐IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis were used to characterize the tetrazoles. The Cu/Ni/rGO nanocomposite showed the superior catalytic activity for the synthesis of N‐benzyl‐N‐aryl‐5‐amino‐1H‐tetrazoles within a short reaction time and high yields. Furthermore, this protocol eliminates the need to handle HN3.  相似文献

Adsorption of carbon dioxide on H‐ZSM‐5 zeolite (Si:Al=11.5:1) was studied by means of variable‐temperature FT‐IR spectroscopy, in the temperature range of 310–365 K. The adsorbed CO2 molecules interact with the zeolite Brønsted‐acid OH groups bringing about a characteristic red‐shift of the O? H stretching band from 3610 cm?1 to 3480 cm?1. Simultaneously, the ν3 mode of adsorbed CO2 is observed at 2345 cm?1. From the variation of integrated intensity of the IR absorption bands at both 3610 and 2345 cm?1, upon changing temperature (and CO2 equilibrium pressure), the standard adsorption enthalpy of CO2 on H‐ZSM‐5 is ΔH0=?31.2(±1) kJ mol?1 and the corresponding entropy change is ΔS0=?140(±10) J mol?1 K?1. These results are discussed in the context of available data for carbon dioxide adsorption on other protonic, and also alkali‐metal exchanged, zeolites.  相似文献

Immobilized nickel catalysts SBA*‐ L ‐x/Ni ( L =bis(2‐pyridylmethyl)(1H‐1,2,3‐triazol‐4‐ylmethyl)amine) with various ligand densities ( L content (x)=0.5, 1, 2, 4 mol % Si) have been prepared from azidopropyl‐functionalized mesoporous silicas SBA‐N3x. Related homogeneous ligand LtBu and its NiII complexes, [Ni( LtBu )(OAc)2(H2O)] ( LtBu /Ni) and [Ni( LtBu )2]BF4 (2 LtBu /Ni), have been synthesized. The L /Ni ratio (0.9–1.7:1) in SBA*‐ L ‐x/Ni suggests the formation of an inert [Ni L 2] site on the surface at higher ligand loadings. SBA*‐ L ‐x/Ni has been applied to the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane with m‐chloroperbenzoic acid (mCPBA). The catalyst with the lowest loading shows high activity in its initial use as the homogeneous LtBu /Ni catalyst, with some metal leaching. As the ligand loading increases, the activity and Ni leaching are suppressed. The importance of site‐density control for the development of immobilized catalysts has been demonstrated.  相似文献

A porous rtl metal–organic framework (MOF) [Mn5L(H2O)6?(DMA)2]?5DMA?4C2H5OH ( 1? Mn) (H10L=5,10,15,20‐tetra(4‐(3,5‐dicarboxylphenoxy)phenyl)porphyrin; DMA=N,N′‐dimethylacetamide) was synthesized by employing a new porphyrin‐based octacarboxylic acid ligand. 1? Mn exhibits high MnII density in the porous framework, providing it great Lewis‐acid heterogeneous catalytic capability for the cycloaddition of CO2 with epoxides. Strikingly, 1? Mn features excellent catalytic activity to the cycloaddition of CO2 to epoxides, with a remarkable initial turnover frequency 400 per mole of catalyst per hour at 20 atm. As‐synthesized 1? Mn also exhibits size selectivity to different epoxide substrates on account of their steric hindrance. The high catalytic activity, size selectivity, and stability toward the epoxides on catalytic cycloaddition of CO2 make 1? Mn a promising heterogeneous catalyst for fixation and utilization of CO2.  相似文献

A new asymmetric Salamo‐based ligand H2L was synthesized using 3‐tertbutyl‐salicylaldehyde and 6‐methoxy‐2‐[O‐(1‐ethyloxyamide)]‐oxime‐1‐phenol. By adjusting the ratio of the ligand H2L and Cu (II), Co (II), and Ni (II) ions, mononuclear, dinuclear, and trinuclear transition metal (II) complexes, [Cu(L)], [{Co(L)}2], and [{Ni(L)(CH3COO)(CH3CH2OH)}2Ni] with the ligand H2L possessing completely different coordination modes were obtained, respectively. The optical spectra of ligand H2L and its Cu (II), Co (II) and Ni (II) complexes were investigated. The Cu (II) complex is a mononuclear structure, and the Cu (II) atom is tetracoordinated to form a planar quadrilateral structure. The Co (II) complex is dinuclear, and the two Co (II) atoms are pentacoordinated and have coordination geometries of distorted triangular bipyramid. The Ni (II) complex is a trinuclear structure, and the terminal and central Ni (II) atoms are all hexacoordinated, forming distorted octahedral geometries. Furthermore, optical properties including UV–Vis, IR, and fluorescence of the Cu (II), Co (II), and Ni (II) complexes were investigated. Finally, the antibacterial activities of the Cu (II), Co (II), and Ni (II) complexes were explored. According to the experimental results, the inhibitory effect was found to be enhanced with increasing concentrations of the Cu (II), Co (II), and Ni (II) complexes.  相似文献

Cinchonidine (CD) adsorbed onto a platinum metal catalyst leads to rate acceleration and induces strong stereocontrol in the asymmetric hydrogenation of trifluoroacetophenone. Addition of catalytic amounts of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) significantly enhances the enantiomeric excess from 50 to 92 %. The origin of the enantioselectivity bestowed by co‐adsorbed CD and TFA is investigated by using in situ attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy and modulation excitation spectroscopy. Molecular interactions between the chiral modifier (CD), acid additive (TFA) and the trifluoro‐activated substrate at the solid–liquid interface are elucidated under conditions relevant to catalytic hydrogenations, that is, on a technical Pt/Al2O3 catalyst in the presence of H2 and solvent. Monitoring of the unmodified and modified surface during the hydrogenation provides an insight into the phenomenon of rate enhancement and the crucial interactions of CD with the ketone, corresponding product alcohol, and TFA. Comparison of the diastereomeric interactions occurring on the modified surface and in the liquid solution shows a striking difference for the chiral preferences of CD. The spectroscopic data, in combination with calculations of molecular structures and energies, sheds light on the reaction mechanism of the heterogeneous asymmetric hydrogenation of trifluoromethyl ketones and the involvement of TFA in the diastereomeric intermediate surface complex: the quinuclidine N atom of the adsorbed CD forms an N?H?O‐type hydrogen‐bonding interaction not only with the trifluoro‐activated ketone but also with the corresponding alcohol and the acid additive. Strong evidence is provided that it is a monodentate acid/base adduct in which the carboxylate of TFA resides at the quinuclidine N‐atom of CD, which imparts a better stereochemical control.  相似文献

A set of supported ruthenium complexes with systematically varied ratios of chemisorbed to physisorbed species was formed by contacting cis‐[Ru(acac)2(C2H4)2] ( I ; acac=C5H7O2?) with dealuminated zeolite Y. Extended X‐ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectra used to characterize the samples confirmed the systematic variation in the loadings of the two supported species and demonstrated that removal of bidentate acac ligands from I accompanied chemisorption to form [Ru(acac)(C2H4)2]+ attached through two Ru? O bonds to the Al sites of the zeolite. A high degree of uniformity in the chemisorbed species was demonstrated by sharp bands in the infrared (IR) spectrum characteristic of ruthenium dicarbonyls that formed when CO reacted with the anchored complex. When the ruthenium loading exceeded 1.0 wt % (Ru/Al≈1:6), the additional adsorbed species were simply physisorbed. Ethene ligands on the chemisorbed species reacted to form butenes when the temperature was raised to approximately 393 K; acac ligands remained bonded to Ru. In contrast, ethene ligands on the physisorbed complex simply desorbed under the same conditions. The chemisorption activated the ruthenium complex and facilitated dimerization of the ethene, which occurred catalytically. IR and EXAFS spectra of the supported samples indicate that 1) Ru centers in the chemisorbed species are more electron deficient than those in the physisorbed species and 2) Ru–ethene bonds in the chemisorbed species are less symmetric than those in the physisorbed species, which implies the presence of a preferred configuration for the catalytic dimerization.  相似文献

Two novel asymmetric salen ligands H2L1 [N‐phenyl‐N‐(2‐hydroxy‐5‐methylphenyl)‐N′‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐meth‐ oxylphenyl)‐o‐phenyldiamine] and H2L2 [N‐phenyl‐N‐(2‐hydroxy‐5‐chlorophenyl)‐N′‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxyl‐ phenyl)‐o‐phenyldiamine] and their metal complexes MLn (M=Zn, Co, Ni, Cu; n=1, 2) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, 1H NMR, ESI‐MS, FT‐IR and UV‐Vis spectra. In particular, the complex ZnL1, the binuclear monosalphen complex, was synthesized and studied in detail using 1H NMR and ESI‐MS techniques. For other metal complexes under the same reaction conditions, only mononuclear complexes were obtained. The results are relevant to both the metal ions and the structure of ligands.  相似文献

The incorporation of highly active but also highly sensitive catalysts (e.g. the [FeFe] hydrogenase from Desulfovibrio desulfuricans) in biofuel cells is still one of the major challenges in sustainable energy conversion. We report the fabrication of a dual‐gas diffusion electrode H2/O2 biofuel cell equipped with a [FeFe] hydrogenase/redox polymer‐based high‐current‐density H2‐oxidation bioanode. The bioanodes show benchmark current densities of around 14 mA cm?2 and the corresponding fuel cell tests exhibit a benchmark for a hydrogenase/redox polymer‐based biofuel cell with outstanding power densities of 5.4 mW cm?2 at 0.7 V cell voltage. Furthermore, the highly sensitive [FeFe] hydrogenase is protected against oxygen damage by the redox polymer and can function under 5 % O2.  相似文献
