We prove that the only compact surfaces of positive constant Gaussian curvature in \mathbbH2×\mathbbR{\mathbb{H}^{2}\times\mathbb{R}} (resp. positive constant Gaussian curvature greater than 1 in \mathbbS2×\mathbbR{\mathbb{S}^{2}\times\mathbb{R}}) whose boundary Γ is contained in a slice of the ambient space and such that the surface intersects this slice at a constant angle along Γ, are the pieces of a rotational complete surface. We also obtain some area estimates for surfaces of positive constant Gaussian curvature in \mathbbH2×\mathbbR{\mathbb{H}^{2}\times\mathbb{R}} and positive constant Gaussian curvature greater than 1 in \mathbbS2×\mathbbR{\mathbb{S}^{2}\times\mathbb{R}} whose boundary is contained in a slice of the ambient space. These estimates are optimal in the sense that if the bounds are attained, the surface is again a piece of a rotational complete surface.  相似文献

We construct a family of Σ-uniform Abelian groups and a family of Σ-uniform rings. Conditions are specified that are necessary and sufficient for a universal Σ-function to exist in a hereditarily finite admissible set over structures in these families. It is proved that there is a set S of primes such that no universal Σ-function exists in hereditarily finite admissible sets \mathbbH\mathbbF(G) \mathbb{H}\mathbb{F}(G) and \mathbbH\mathbbF(K) \mathbb{H}\mathbb{F}(K) , where G = ⊕{Z p | pS} is a group, Z p is a cyclic group of order p, K = ⊕{F p | pS} is a ring, and F p is a prime field of characteristic p.  相似文献

We extend the theorem of B. Daniel about the existence and uniqueness of immersions into \mathbbSn × \mathbbR or \mathbbHn × \mathbbR{\mathbb{S}^{n}\,\times\,\mathbb{R}\, {\rm or}\, \mathbb{H}^{n}\,\times\,\mathbb{R}} to the Riemannian product of two space forms. More precisely, we prove the existence and uniqueness of an isometric immersion of a Riemannian manifold into the Riemannian product of two space forms.  相似文献

Let μ be a Poisson random measure, let \mathbbF\mathbb{F} be the smallest filtration satisfying the usual conditions and containing the one generated by μ, and let \mathbbG\mathbb{G} be the initial enlargement of \mathbbF\mathbb{F} with the σ-field generated by a random variable G. In this paper, we first show that the mutual information between the enlarging random variable G and the σ-algebra generated by the Poisson random measure μ is equal to the expected relative entropy of the \mathbbG\mathbb{G}-compensator relative to the \mathbbF\mathbb{F}-compensator of the random measure μ. We then use this link to gain some insight into the changes of Doob–Meyer decompositions of stochastic processes when the filtration is enlarged from  \mathbbF\mathbb{F} to  \mathbbG\mathbb{G}. In particular, we show that if the mutual information between G and the σ-algebra generated by the Poisson random measure μ is finite, then every square-integrable \mathbbF\mathbb{F}-martingale is a \mathbbG\mathbb{G}-semimartingale that belongs to the normed space S1\mathcal{S}^{1} relative to  \mathbbG\mathbb{G}.  相似文献

Affine extractors over prime fields   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
An affine extractor is a map that is balanced on every affine subspace of large enough dimension. We construct an explicit affine extractor AE from \mathbbFn \mathbb{F}^n to \mathbbF\mathbb{F}, \mathbbF\mathbb{F} a prime field, so that AE(x) is exponentially close to uniform when x is chosen uniformly at random from an arbitrary affine subspace of \mathbbFn \mathbb{F}^n of dimension at least δn, 0<δ≤1 a constant. Previously, Bourgain constructed such affine extractors when the size of \mathbbF\mathbb{F} is two. Our construction is in the spirit of but different than Bourgain’s construction. This allows for simpler analysis and better quantitative results.  相似文献

Let \mathbbF\mathbb{F} be a totally real number field, and let f traverse a sequence of non-dihedral holomorphic eigencuspforms on \operatornameGL2/\mathbbF\operatorname{GL}_{2}/\mathbb{F} of weight (k1,?,k[\mathbbF:\mathbbQ])(k_{1},\ldots,k_{[\mathbb{F}:\mathbb{Q}]}), trivial central character and full level. We show that the mass of f equidistributes on the Hilbert modular variety as max(k1,?,k[\mathbbF:\mathbbQ]) ? ¥\max(k_{1},\ldots,k_{[\mathbb{F}:\mathbb{Q}]}) \rightarrow \infty.  相似文献

Let X,X(1),X(2),... be independent identically distributed random variables with mean zero and a finite variance. Put S(n) = X(1) + ... + X(n), n = 1, 2,..., and define the Markov stopping time η y = inf {n ≥ 1: S(n) ≥ y} of the first crossing a level y ≥ 0 by the random walk S(n), n = 1, 2,.... In the case $ \mathbb{E} $ \mathbb{E} |X|3 < ∞, the following relation was obtained in [8]: $ \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _0 = n} \right) = \frac{1} {{n\sqrt n }}\left( {R + \nu _n + o\left( 1 \right)} \right) $ \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _0 = n} \right) = \frac{1} {{n\sqrt n }}\left( {R + \nu _n + o\left( 1 \right)} \right) as n → ∞, where the constant R and the bounded sequence ν n were calculated in an explicit form. Moreover, there were obtained necessary and sufficient conditions for the limit existence $ H\left( y \right): = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{{3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _y = n} \right) $ H\left( y \right): = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{{3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _y = n} \right) for every fixed y ≥ 0, and there was found a representation for H(y). The present paper was motivated by the following reason. In [8], the authors unfortunately did not cite papers [1, 5] where the above-mentioned relations were obtained under weaker restrictions. Namely, it was proved in [5] the existence of the limit $ \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{{3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _y = n} \right) $ \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{{3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _y = n} \right) for every fixed y ≥ 0 under the condition $ \mathbb{E} $ \mathbb{E} X 2 < ∞ only; In [1], an explicit form of the limit $ \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{{3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _0 = n} \right) $ \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{{3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} \mathbb{P}\left( {\eta _0 = n} \right) was found under the same condition $ \mathbb{E} $ \mathbb{E} X 2 < ∞ in the case when the summand X has an arithmetic distribution. In the present paper, we prove that the main assertion in [5] fails and we correct the original proof. It worth noting that this corrected version was formulated in [8] as a conjecture.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to investigate dynamical systems F : \mathbbR2 ? \mathbbR2{F : \mathbb{R}^2 \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^2} of the form F(x, y) = (f(x, y), x). We assume that f : \mathbbR2 ? \mathbbR{f : \mathbb{R}^2 \rightarrow \mathbb{R}} is continuous and satisfies a condition that holds when f is non decreasing with respect to the second variable. We show that for every initial condition x0 = (x 0, y 0), such that the orbit
O(x0) = {x0, x1 = F(x0), x2 = F(x1), . . . }, O({\rm{x}}_0) = \{{\rm{x}}_0, {\rm{x}}_1 = F({\rm{x}}_0), {\rm{x}}_2 = F({\rm{x}}_1), . . . \},  相似文献

We consider the space A(\mathbbT)A(\mathbb{T}) of all continuous functions f on the circle \mathbbT\mathbb{T} such that the sequence of Fourier coefficients [^(f)] = { [^(f)]( k ), k ? \mathbbZ }\hat f = \left\{ {\hat f\left( k \right), k \in \mathbb{Z}} \right\} belongs to l 1(ℤ). The norm on A(\mathbbT)A(\mathbb{T}) is defined by || f ||A(\mathbbT) = || [^(f)] ||l1 (\mathbbZ)\left\| f \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = \left\| {\hat f} \right\|_{l^1 (\mathbb{Z})}. According to the well-known Beurling-Helson theorem, if f:\mathbbT ? \mathbbT\phi :\mathbb{T} \to \mathbb{T} is a continuous mapping such that || einf ||A(\mathbbT) = O(1)\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = O(1), n ∈ ℤ then φ is linear. It was conjectured by Kahane that the same conclusion about φ is true under the assumption that || einf ||A(\mathbbT) = o( log| n | )\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = o\left( {\log \left| n \right|} \right). We show that if $\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = o\left( {\left( {{{\log \log \left| n \right|} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\log \log \left| n \right|} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right)^{1/12} } \right)$\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = o\left( {\left( {{{\log \log \left| n \right|} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\log \log \left| n \right|} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right)^{1/12} } \right), then φ is linear.  相似文献

Let f(X) be a polynomial in n variables over the finite field  \mathbbFq\mathbb{F}_{q}. Its Newton polytope Δ(f) is the convex closure in ℝ n of the origin and the exponent vectors (viewed as points in ℝ n ) of monomials in f(X). The minimal dilation of Δ(f) such that it contains at least one lattice point of $\mathbb{Z}_{>0}^{n}$\mathbb{Z}_{>0}^{n} plays a vital pole in the p-adic estimate of the number of zeros of f(X) in  \mathbbFq\mathbb{F}_{q}. Using this fact, we obtain several tight and computational bounds for the dilation which unify and improve a number of previous results in this direction.  相似文献

Suppose (N n , g) is an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold with a given smooth measure m. Let f be an endomorphism of \mathbbC\mathbbPk{\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^k} and ν be an f-invariant measure with positive Lyapunov exponents (λ 1, . . . , λ k ). We prove a lower bound for the pointwise dimension of ν in terms of the degree of f, the exponents of ν and the entropy of ν. In particular our result can be applied for the maximal entropy measure μ. When k = 2, it implies that the Hausdorff dimension of μ is estimated by dimHm 3 [(log d)/(l1)] + [(log d)/(l2)]{{\rm dim}_\mathcal{H}\mu \geq {{\rm log} d \over \lambda_1} + {{\rm log} d \over \lambda_2}}, which is half of the conjectured formula. Our method for proving these results consists in studying the distribution of the ν-generic inverse branches of f n in \mathbbC\mathbbPk{\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^k} . Our tools are a volume growth estimate for the bounded holomorphic polydiscs in \mathbbC\mathbbPk{\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^k} and a normalization theorem for the ν-generic inverse branches of f n .  相似文献

Let B f denote the set of branch points of the mapping f. Then, for an arbitrary neighborhood V of the point y 0, the set Vf(B f ) cannot be contained in a set A such that g(A) = I, where I = { t ? \mathbbR:| t | < 1 } I = \left\{ {t \in \mathbb{R}:\left| t \right| < 1} \right\} and g:U ? \mathbbRn g:U \to {\mathbb{R}^n} is a quasiconformal mapping of a domain U ì \mathbbRn U \subset {\mathbb{R}^n} such that A ⊂ U.  相似文献
