A set of pentacoordinated dimethyltin(IV) complexes of flexible N‐protected amino acids and fluorinated β‐diketone/β‐diketones was screened for their antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Staphylococcus aureus and Streptomyces griseus . These pentacoordinated complexes of the type Me2SnAB (where : R = CH(CH3)C2H5, A1H; CH2CH(CH3)2, A2H; CH(CH3)2, A3H; CH2C6H5, A4H; and BH = R'C(O)CH2C(O)R″: R′ = C6H5, R″ = CF3, B1H; R′ = R″ = CH3, B2H; R′ = C6H5, R″ = CH3, B3H; R′ = R″ = C6H5, B4H) were generated by the reactions of dimethyltin(IV) dichloride with sodium salts of flexible N‐protected amino acids (ANa) and fluorinated β‐diketone/β‐diketones (BNa) in 1:1:1 molar ratio in refluxing dry benzene solution. Plausible structures of these complexes were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical and spectral studies. 119Sn NMR spectral data revealed the presence of pentacoordinated tin centres in these dimethyltin(IV) complexes.  相似文献

The reactions of 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine with 1,12‐dodecanediol in 1 : 1–1:3 molar ratios in the presence of RuCl2(PPh3)3 catalyst give poly(alkylenebenzimidazole), [ (CH2)11 O (CH2)11 Im / (CH2)10 Im ]n (Im: 5,5′‐dibenzimidazole‐2,2′‐diyl) (Ia‐Id) in 71–92% yields. The relative ratio between the [(CH2)11 O (CH2)11 Im ] unit (A) and the [‐ (CH2)10 Im ] unit (B) in the polymer chain varies depending on the ratio of the substrates used. The polymer Ia obtained from the 1 : 3 reaction contains these structural units in a 98 : 2 ratio. The polymers are soluble in polar solvents such as DMF (N,N‐dimethylformamide), DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide), and NMP (N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone) and have molecular weights Mn (Mw) of 4,200–4,800 (4,800–6,500) by GPC (polystyrene standard). The polymerization of the diol and 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine in higher molar ratios leads to partial cross‐linking of the resulting polymers Ie and If via condensation of imidazole NH group with CH2OH group. Similar reactions of 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine with α,ω‐diols, HO(CH2)mOH (m = 4–10), in a 1 : 3 molar ratio give the polymers containing [ (CH2)m−1 O (CH2) m−1 Im ] and [ (CH2) m−2 Im ] units with partial cross‐linked structures. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The platina‐β‐diketones [Pt2{(COR)2H}2(μ‐Cl)2] ( 1 , R = Me a , Et b ) react with phosphines L in a molar ratio of 1 : 4 through cleavage of acetaldehyde to give acylplatinum(II) complexes trans‐[Pt(COR)Cl(L)2] ( 2 ) (R/L = Me/P(p‐FC6H4)3 a , Me/P(p‐CH2=CHC6H4)Ph2 b , Me/P(n‐Bu)3 c , Et/P(p‐MeOC6H4)3 d ). 1 a reacts with Ph2As(CH2)2PPh2 (dadpe) in a molar ratio of 1 : 2 through cleavage of acetaldehyde yielding [Pt(COMe)Cl(dadpe)] ( 3 a ) (configuration index: SP‐4‐4) and [Pt(COMe)Cl(dadpe)] (configuration index: SP‐4‐2) ( 3 b ) in a ratio of about 9 : 1. All acyl complexes were characterized by 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The molecular structures of 2 a and 3 a were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The geometries at the platinum centers are close to square planar. In both complexes the plane of the acyl ligand is nearly perpendicular to the plane of the complex (88(2)° 2 a , 81.2(5)° 3 a ).  相似文献

The study was focused on the structure–activity relationship of some newly synthesized hexacoordinated dimethyltin(IV) complexes of fluorinated β‐diketone/β‐diketones and sterically congested heterocyclic β‐diketones. These complexes were screened for their antibacterial activity against a Gram‐negative bacterium (Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and Gram‐positive bacteria (Streptomyces griseus, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis) and the results were compared with those of a standard antibacterial drug. Some of the complexes were also screened for their antifungal activity against various fungi (Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, Trichoderma viride, Fusarium oxysporum) and were found to be active. These new hexacoordinated complexes of dimethyltin(IV) were generated by reactions of dimethyltin(IV) dichloride and sodium salts of fluorinated β‐diketone/β‐diketones and sterically congested heterocyclic β‐diketones in 1:1:1 molar ratio in refluxing dry benzene. Plausible structures of these complexes were suggested with the aid of physicochemical and spectroscopic studies. 119Sn NMR spectral data revealed the presence of a hexacoordinated tin centre in these dimethyltin(IV) complexes. The Reactivity of Dinuclear Platina‐β‐diketones with Phosphines: Diacetylplatinum(II) Complexes and Mononuclear Platina‐β‐diketones Addition of mono‐ and bidentate phosphines or of AsPh3 to the platina‐β‐diketone [Pt2{(COMe)2H}2(μ‐Cl)2] ( 1 ) followed by the addition of NaOMe at ?70 °C resulted in the formation of diacetyl platinum(II) complexes cis‐[Pt(COMe)2L2] (L = PPh3, 2a ; P(4‐FC6H4)3, 2b ; PPh2(4‐py), 2c ; PMePh2, 2d ; AsPh3, 2d ) and [Pt(COMe)2(L??L)] (L??L = dppe, 3b ; dppp, 3c ), respectively. The analogous reaction with dppm afforded the dinuclear complex cis‐[{Pt(COMe)2}2(μ‐dppm)2] ( 4 ) that reacted in boiling acetone yielding [Pt(COMe)2(dppm)] ( 3a ). The reactions 1 → 2 / 3 were found to proceed via thermally highly unstable cationic mononuclear platina‐β‐diketone intermediates [Pt{(COMe)2H}L2]+ and [Pt{(COMe)2H}(L??L)]+, respectively, that could be isolated as chlorides for L??L = dppe ( 5a ) and dppp ( 5b ). The reversibility of the deprotonation of type 5 complexes with NaOMe yielding type 3 complexes was shown by the protonation of the diacetyl complex 3b with HBF4 yielding the platina‐β‐diketone [Pt{(COMe)2H}(dppe)](BF4) ( 5c ). All compounds were fully characterized by means of NMR and IR spectroscopies, and microanalyses. X‐ray diffraction analysis was performed for the complex cis‐[Pt(COMe)2(PPh3)2]·H2O·CHCl3 ( 2a ·H2O·CHCl3).  相似文献

The syntheses of the five 2,2′: 6′,2″‐terpyridine (tpy) ligands 5 – 9 functionalized in the 4′‐position with a hydrazone substituent RR′C?N? NH (R=R′=Me; R=H, R′=4‐BrC6H4, 4‐O2NC6H4, 4‐MeOC6H4, or 3,5‐(MeO)2C6H3) are described. Protonation of the tpy domain of the ligands is facile. Solution behaviour has been studied by NMR and electronic spectroscopies. Representative structural data are presented for neutral and monoprotonated ligands, and illustrate that H‐bonding involving the formal amine NH unit is a dominant structural motif in all cases.  相似文献

The platina‐β‐diketone [Pt2{(COMe)2H}2(µ‐Cl)2] ( 1 ) was found to react with monodentate phosphines to yield acetyl(chloro)platinum(II) complexes trans‐[Pt(COMe)Cl(PR3)2] (PR3 = PPh3, 2a ; P(4‐FC6H4)3, 2b ; PMePh2, 2c ; PMe2Ph, 2d ; P(n‐Bu)3, 2e ; P(o‐tol)3, 2f ; P(m‐tol)3, 2g ; P(p‐tol)3, 2h ). In the reaction with P(o‐tol)3 the methyl(carbonyl)platinum(II) complex [Pt(Me)Cl(CO){P(o‐tol)3}] ( 3a ) was found to be an intermediate. On the other hand, treating 1 with P(C6F5)3 led to the formation of [Pt(Me)Cl(CO){P(C6F5)3}] ( 3b ), even in excess of the phosphine. Phosphine ligands with a lower donor capability in complexes 2 and the arsine ligand in trans‐[Pt(COMe)Cl(AsPh3)2] ( 2i ) proved to be subject to substitution by stronger donating phosphine ligands, thus forming complexes trans‐[Pt(COMe)Cl(L)L′] (L/L′ = AsPh3/PPh3, 4a ; PPh3/P(n‐Bu)3, 4b ) and cis‐[Pt(COMe)Cl(dppe)] ( 4c ). Furthermore, in boiling benzene, complexes 2a – 2c and 2i underwent decarbonylation yielding quantitatively methyl(chloro)platinum(II) complexes trans‐[Pt(Me)Cl(L)2] (L = PPh3, 5a ; P(4‐FC6H4)3, 5b ; PMePh2, 5c ; AsPh3, 5d ). The identities of all complexes were confirmed by 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopy. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analyses of 2a ·2CHCl3, 2f and 5b showed that the platinum atom is square‐planar coordinated by two phosphine ligands (PPh3, 2a ; P(o‐tol)3, 2f ; P(4F‐C6H4)3, 5b ) in mutual trans position as well as by an acetyl ligand ( 2a, 2f ) and a methyl ligand ( 5b ), respectively, trans to a chloro ligand. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis of 3b exhibited a square‐planar platinum complex with the two π‐acceptor ligands CO and P(C6F5)3 in mutual cis position (configuration index: SP‐4‐3). A β‐diketimine ligand with vinylidene substitution at γ‐carbon, CH2C(CH3CNAr)2 (Ar = 2,6‐diisopropylphenyl) ( L 2 ), was synthesized by treating β‐diketimine H2C(CH3CNAr)2 with n ‐BuLi followed by paraformaldehyde. L 2 formed the homobimetallic ether‐bridged β‐diketiminate complex [O{(CH2‐β‐diketiminate)Pd(OAc)}2] ( 1 ) with (PdOAc)2. It also gave complexes [L2PdCl2] ( 2 ) and [L2NiBr2] ( 3 ) when treated with PdCl2(CH3CN)2 and NiBr2(dimethoxyethane), respectively. All the compounds were characterized using 1H/13C NMR spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies. The catalytic activity of Pd and Ni complexes 1 , 2 and 3 was explored in Heck coupling and alkyne trimerization reactions and it was found that they are very good catalysts. The results are reported in detail.  相似文献

β‐Diimine zinc dichloride complexes [CH2{C(Me)NAr}2]ZnCl2 [Ar = Mes ( 1 ), Dipp ( 2 )] were obtained from the reactions of ZnCl2 with the corresponding β‐iminoamines [ArN(H)C(Me)CHC(Me)NAr]. Complexes 1 and 2 were characterized by multinuclear NMR (1H, 13C) and IR spectroscopy, elemental analyses as well as by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The energy differences between the enamine‐imine tautomers of the β‐iminoamines were quantified by quantum chemical calculations.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization and ε‐caprolactone polymerization behavior of lanthanide amido complexes stabilized by ferrocene‐containing N‐aryloxo functionalized β‐ketoiminate ligand FcCOCH2C(Me)N(2‐HO‐5‐But‐C6H3) (LH2, Fc = ferrocenyl) are described. The lanthanide amido complexes [LLnN(SiMe3)2(THF)]2 [Ln = Nd ( 1 ), Sm ( 2 ), Yb ( 3 ), Y ( 4 )] were synthesized in good yields by the amine elimination reactions of LH2 with Ln[N(SiMe3)2]3(µ‐Cl)Li(THF)3 in a 1:1 molar ratio in THF. These complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and 1H NMR spectroscopy was added for the analysis of complex 4 . The definitive molecular structures of complexes 1 and 3 were determined by X‐ray diffraction studies. Complexes 1 – 4 can initiate the ring‐opening polymerization of ε‐caprolactone with moderate activity. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Four aluminum alkyl compounds, [CH{(CH3)CN‐2,4,6‐MeC6H2}2AlMe2] ( 1 ), [CH{(CH3)CN‐2,4,6‐MeC6H2}2AlEt2] ( 2 ), [CH{(CH3)CN‐2‐iPrC6H4}2AlMe2] ( 3 ), and [CH{(CH3)CN‐2‐iPrC6H4}2AlEt2] ( 4 ), bearing β‐diketiminate ligands [CH{(Me)CN‐2,4,6‐MeC6H2}]2 (L1H) and [CH{(Me)CN‐2‐iPrC6H4}]2 (L2H) were obtained from the reactions of trimethylaluminum, triethylaluminum with the corresponding β‐diketiminate, respectively. All compounds were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy, single‐crystal X‐ray structural analysis, and elemental analysis. Compounds 1 – 4 were found to catalyze the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of ε‐caprolactone (ε‐CL) with good activity.  相似文献

Fourteen new diorganotin(IV) complexes of N‐(5‐halosalicylidene)‐α‐amino acid, R′2Sn(5‐X‐2‐OC6H3CH?NCHRCOO) (where X = Cl, Br; R = H, Me, i‐Pr; R′ = n‐Bu, Ph, Cy), were synthesized by the reactions of diorganotin halides with potassium salt of N‐(5‐halosalicylidene)‐α‐amino acid and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 119Sn) spectra. The crystal structures of Bu2Sn(5‐Cl‐2‐OC6H3CH?NCH(i‐Pr)COO) and Ph2Sn(5‐Br‐2‐OC6H3CH?NCH(i‐Pr)COO) were determined by X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction and showed that the tin atoms are in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry and form five‐ and six‐membered chelate rings with the tridentate ligand. Bioassay results of a few compounds indicated that the compounds have strong cytotoxic activity against three human tumour cell lines, i.e. HeLa, CoLo205 and MCF‐7, and the activity decreased in the order Cy>n‐Bu>Ph for the R′ group bound to tin. A series of α‐keto‐β‐diimine nickel complexes (Ar‐N = C(CH3)‐C(O)‐C(CH3)=N‐Ar)NiBr2; Ar = 2,6‐R‐C6H3‐, R = Me, Et, iPr, and Ar = 2,4,6‐Me3‐C6H3‐) was prepared. All corresponding ligands are unstable even under an inert atmosphere and in a freezer. Stable copper complex intermediates of ligand synthesis and ethyl substituted nickel complex were isolated and characterized by X‐ray. All nickel complexes were used for the polymerization of ethene, propylene, and hex‐1‐ene to investigate their livingness and the extent of chain‐walking. Low‐temperature propene polymerization with less bulky ortho‐substituents was less isospecific than the one with isopropyl derivative. Propene stereoblock copolymers were prepared by iPr derivative combining the polymerization at low temperature to prepare isotactic polypropylene (PP) block and at a higher temperature, supporting chain‐walking, to obtain amorphous regioirregular PP block. Alternatively, a copolymerization of propene with ethene was used for the preparation of amorphous block. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. All of these complexes are identified by spectroscopic methods and complexes 2 and 3 are determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Crystal data for 2 : space group, C2/c with a = 13.5489(8) Å, b = 12.1821(7) Å, c = 16.0893(10) Å, β = 101.654(1)°, V = 2600.9(3) Å3, and Z = 4. The structure was refined to R = 0.033 and Rw = 0.086; Crystal data for 3 : space group, P21 with a = 8.8064 (6) Å, b = 11.7047 (8) Å, c = 9.4046 (7) Å, β = 114.78 (1)°, V = 880.13(11) Å3, and Z = 2. The structure was refined to R = 0.030 and Rw = 0.061. The geometry around the metal atom of the two complexes is a trigonal prismatic coordination. This article deals with isomeric ruthenium complexes [RuIII(LR)2(acac)] (S=1/2) involving unsymmetric β‐ketoiminates (AcNac) (LR=R‐AcNac, R=H ( 1 ), Cl ( 2 ), OMe ( 3 ); acac=acetylacetonate) [R=para‐substituents (H, Cl, OMe) of N‐bearing aryl group]. The isomeric identities of the complexes, cct (ciscis‐trans, blue, a ), ctc (cis‐trans‐cis, green, b ) and ccc (ciscis‐cis, pink, c ) with respect to oxygen (acac), oxygen (L) and nitrogen (L) donors, respectively, were authenticated by their single‐crystal X‐ray structures and spectroscopic/electrochemical features. One‐electron reversible oxidation and reduction processes of 1 – 3 led to the electronic formulations of [RuIII(L)(L ? )(acac)]+ and [RuII(L)2(acac)]? for 1 +‐ 3 + (S=1) and 1? – 3? (S=0), respectively. The triplet state of 1 +‐ 3 + was corroborated by its forbidden weak half‐field signal near g≈4.0 at 4 K, revealing the non‐innocent feature of L. Interestingly, among the three isomeric forms ( a – c in 1 – 3 ), the ctc ( b in 2 b or 3 b ) isomer selectively underwent oxidative functionalization at the central β‐carbon (C?H→C=O) of one of the L ligands in air, leading to the formation of diamagnetic [RuII(L)(L ′ )(acac)] (L ′ =diketoimine) in 4 / 4′ . Mechanistic aspects of the oxygenation process of AcNac in 2 b were also explored via kinetic and theoretical studies.  相似文献

α,β‐Unsaturated aldehydes and ketones were reduced readily and exclusively to their corresponding allylic alcohols with NaBH4 and catalytic amounts of titanyl acetylacetonate at room temperature. Reduction reactions were carried out in CH3CN or THF. This reducing system was also efficient for the reduction of α‐diketones and acyloins to their corresponding vicinal diols in CH3CN.  相似文献

The 1‐azonia‐2‐boratanaphthalenes (NH)(BX)C8H6 can be synthesized from 2‐aminostyrene and the dihaloboranes XBHal2 ( 1 ‐ 4 : X = Cl, Br, iPr, tBu). Further derivatives (NH)(BX)C8H6 are obtained from 1 by replacing Cl by alkoxy or alkyl groups [ 5 ‐ 8 : X = OMe, OtBu, Me, (CH2)3NMe2]. The hydrolysis of 1 gives a mixture of the bis(azoniaboratanaphthyl) oxide [(NH)BC8H6]2O ( 9 ) and the hydroxy derivative (NH)[B(OH)]C8H6 ( 10 ). The diboryl oxide 9 crystallizes in the space group C2/c. The lithiation of 4 at the nitrogen atom gives [NLi(tmen)](BtBu)C8H6 ( 11 ), which upon reaction with the diborane(4) B2Cl2(NMe2)2 yields the 1, 2‐bis(azoniaboratanaphthyl)diborane B2[N(BtBu)C8H6]2(NMe2)2 ( 12 ). The 2‐chloro‐1‐methyl‐4‐phenyl derivative (NMe)(BCl)C8H5Ph ( 13 ) of the parent (NH)(BH)C8H6 can be synthesized from the aminoborane BCl2(NMePh) and phenylethyne. Substitution of Cl in 13 gives the derivatives (NMe)(BX)C8H5Ph [ 14 ‐ 20 : X = N(SiMe3)2, Me, Et, iBu, tBu, CH2SiMe3, Ph] and the reaction of 13 with Li2O affords the bis(azoniaboratanaphthyl) oxide [(NMe)BC8H5Ph]2O ( 21 ). The reaction of 16 or 19 with [(MeCN)3Cr(CO)3] yields the complexes [{(NMe)(BX)C8H5Ph}Cr(CO)3] ( 22 , 23 : X = Et, CH2SiMe3), in which the chromium atom is hexahapto bound to the homoarene part of 16 or 19 , respectively. The complex 23 crystallizes in the space group P21/c. Upon reaction of the phenols para‐C6H4R(OH) with the aryldichloroboranes ArBCl2 and subsequent condensation of the products with phenylethyne, the 1‐oxonia‐2‐boratanaphthalenes O(BAr)C8H4RPh with R in position 6 and Ph in position 4 are formed ( 24 ‐ 26 : Ar = Ph, R = H, Me, OMe; 27 ‐ 29 : Ar = C6F5, R = H, Me, OMe). The azoniaboratanaphthalenes 1 ‐ 23 were characterized by NMR methods.  相似文献

Two new ring opening polymerization (ROP) initiators, namely, (3‐allyl‐2‐(allyloxy)phenyl)methanol and (3‐allyl‐2‐(prop‐2‐yn‐1‐yloxy)phenyl)methanol each containing two reactive functionalities viz. allyl, allyloxy and allyl, propargyloxy, respectively, were synthesized from 3‐allylsalicyaldehyde as a starting material. Well defined α‐allyl, α′‐allyloxy and α‐allyl, α′‐propargyloxy bifunctionalized poly(ε‐caprolactone)s with molecular weights in the range 4200–9500 and 3600–10,900 g/mol and molecular weight distributions in the range 1.16–1.18 and 1.15–1.16, respectively, were synthesized by ROP of ε‐caprolactone employing these initiators. The presence of α‐allyl, α′‐allyloxy and α‐allyl, α′‐propargyloxy functionalities on poly(ε‐caprolactone)s was confirmed by FT‐IR, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy, and MALDI‐TOF analysis. The kinetic study of ROP of ε‐caprolactone with both the initiators revealed the pseudo first order kinetics with respect to ε‐caprolactone consumption and controlled behavior of polymerization reactions. The usefulness of α‐allyl, α′‐allyloxy functionalities on poly(ε‐caprolactone) was demonstrated by performing the thiol‐ene reaction with poly(ethylene glycol) thiol to obtain (mPEG)2‐PCL miktoarm star copolymer. α‐Allyl, α′‐propargyloxy functionalities on poly(ε‐caprolactone) were utilized in orthogonal reactions i.e copper catalyzed alkyne‐azide click (CuAAC) with azido functionalized poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) followed by thiol‐ene reaction with poly(ethylene glycol) thiol to synthesize PCL‐PNIPAAm‐mPEG miktoarm star terpolymer. The preliminary characterization of A2B and ABC miktoarm star copolymers was carried out by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Crystal structures are reported for three fluoro‐ or chloro‐substituted 1′‐deoxy‐1′‐phenyl‐β‐D‐ribofuranoses, namely 1′‐deoxy‐1′‐(2,4,5‐trifluorophenyl)‐β‐D‐ribofuranose, C11H11F3O4, (I), 1′‐deoxy‐1′‐(2,4,6‐trifluorophenyl)‐β‐D‐ribofuranose, C11H11F3O4, (II), and 1′‐(4‐chlorophenyl)‐1′‐deoxy‐β‐D‐ribofuranose, C11H13ClO4, (III). The five‐membered furanose ring of the three compounds has a conformation between a C2′‐endo,C3′‐exo twist and a C2′‐endo envelope. The ribofuranose groups of (I) and (III) are connected by intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds to six symmetry‐related molecules to form double layers, while the ribofuranose group of (II) is connected by O—H...O hydrogen bonds to four symmetry‐related molecules to form single layers. The O...O contact distance of the O—H...O hydrogen bonds ranges from 2.7172 (15) to 2.8895 (19) Å. Neighbouring double layers of (I) are connected by a very weak intermolecular C—F...π contact. The layers of (II) are connected by one C—H...O and two C—H...F contacts, while the double layers of (III) are connected by a C—H...Cl contact. The conformations of the molecules are compared with those of seven related molecules. The orientation of the benzene ring is coplanar with the H—C1′ bond or bisecting the H—C1′—C2′ angle, or intermediate between these positions. The orientation of the benzene ring is independent of the substitution pattern of the ring and depends mainly on crystal‐packing effects.  相似文献

Zinc complexes supported by tertiary 1,3,5‐triazapenta‐1,3‐dienate ligand (L1) and N ‐benzoyl‐N′ ‐arylbenzamidinate [aryl =2,6‐diisopropylphenyl (L2), phenyl (L3)] ligands have been synthesized and characterized. The reaction of L1H with ZnEt2 affords a mononuclear zinc complex [L1ZnEt] ( 1 ) in good yield. Tetra nuclear zinc complex [(L1)2Zn4O(OAc)4] ( 2 ) is prepared by treating L1H with one equivalent of Zn(OAc)2 in toluene. Further, dinuclear zinc complexes [L2ZnEt]2 ( 3 ) and [L3ZnEt]2 ( 4 ) are obtained in good yields from L2H and L3H with ZnEt2 in toluene respectively. The complexes 1–4 have been characterized by 1H/13C NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X‐ray diffraction studies. All of the complexes have been explored for their catalytic activity toward the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of ε ‐caprolactone. It has been found that complex 1 is an active catalyst for the polymerization of ε ‐caprolactone in presence of a cocatalyst benzyl alcohol (BnOH). While complex 2 is as active as 1 there is no need for a cocatalyst for the polymerization to proceed. Dinuclear zinc complexes 3 and 4 show very high activity for the ROP of ε ‐caprolactone (CL) and rac ‐lactide (LA) without requiring a cocatalyst. The resultant polymers are found to have very high molecular weight (M n = 296 X 103 g mol−1) and relatively narrow polydispersity index compared to 1 and 2 .  相似文献
