Using retention voluems, obtained from gas-liquid chromatography with then-alkanesn-C28,n-C32, andn-C36 and the branched alkane squalane (2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyltetracosane) as the solvents and small branched andn-alkane molecules as solutes, excess chemical potentials were determined at 80, 100, and 120°C. From these data Flory'sX 12 parameter was calculated, which is related to differences in force field and in orientatinal order of the two compounds. After correction for end effects, theX 12 parameter in then-alkane solvents appeared to decrease with rising temperature and to increase with increasing chain length of then-alkane solvent. In addition,X 12 was dependent on the shape of the order-disturbing substance. These results all point to the presence of short-range orientational order in liquidn-alkanes, which was deduced to occur before from enthalpies of mixing by Patterson and from depolarized Rayleigh scattering by Bothorel. In addition, it is shown that theX 12 values are influenced by coupling of torsional oscillations of the molecules of the mixture components.  相似文献

The vibrational spectra of C6D5PX 2, (C6D5)2PX (X=H, Cl), (C6D5)3P and of the Cyclophosphanes (PC6H5) n and (PC6D5) n (n=5, 6) are reported. The spectra of the phenylphosphorouscompound D (the structure beeing unknown) are given too. The C6H5/C6D5 isotopic shift data in the lower frequency-region (600–100 cm–1) (facilitating the recognition of vibrational coupling effects) are used for vibrational assignments.

In continuation of our work on excess thermodynamic properties of non-electrolyte solutions containing pyridine bases withn-alkanes, we have determined excess molar volumesV E for 2,4-dimethylpyridine + C6 to C10 n-alkanes at 25°C. For the investigated systems noV E values were available in the literature for comparison with our data. The experimentalV E was used to test the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson theory (PFP), Extended Real Associated Solutions model (ERAS) and the Treszczanowicz-Benson method (TB).  相似文献

Summary The correction of the reproducibility of retention indices on polar capillary columns with different film thickness, using more polar reference standards instead ofn-alkanes, was investigated. It was found that the replacement ofn-alkanes by 1-alkenes, 3-alkynes and n-alkylbenzenes as standards significantly improves the reproducibility of retention indices and diminishes their temperature increments forn-alkanes,n-alkynes and arenes on PEG 20M columns.  相似文献

The formation of SiSi-bonds by a photochemical reaction of silylmercury compounds is described. The silylmercury compounds [(X 3Si)3Si]2Hg (X=Cl, OCH3) were synthesized via theVyazankin Hydrid method with (X 3Si)3SiH and Bis(t-butyl)mercury. By UV-irradiation of these products in hexane as a solvent, the oligosilanes [(X 3Si)3Si]2 are formed in good yields. All these compounds are charactericed by spectroscopical methods.

The partial molar free energy, enthalpy, and entropy of sorption of C11−C23 n-alkanes were calculated on the basis of the GC data obtained on the glass capillary column coated with fullerene C60 (Ful-60) as stationary phase. The thermodynamic parameters ofn-alkane sorption on a column with Ful-60 and a fused silica capillary column with polydimethylsiloxane OV-1 were determined and compared. The enthalpy-entropy compensation effect for the sorption ofn-alkanes on Ful-60 and OV-1 was found. A linear dependence of the partial molar free energy ofn-alkane sorption on the temperature of analysis and carbon chain length was found. The free energy contributions of the methylene groups were calculated, and their temperature dependences were studied. The differences in the temperature dependences of the energy contributions of methylene groups ofn-alkanes on Ful-60 and OV-1 were revealed. The entropy contribution is 68–82% of the enthalpy contribution which indicates a substantial role of the number of contacts with Ful-60 in retention ofn-alkanes. The ability of Ful-60 for dispersive interactions is similar to those of nonpolar liquid phases and substantially differs from that for carbon adsorbents. Fullerene columns were shown to be convenient for analysis of highly boiling organic substances in aqueous and organic solutions. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. The high-resolution207Pb magnetic resonance spectra ofR 4–n PbX n (R=Methyl, Ethyl;X=h1-Cyclopentadienyl, Chloride;n=1, 2) have been studied at 16.72Mc. The207Pb- ·· -1H spin-spin coupling constants for the molecules described have been obtained by analysis of the first order NMR-patterns as AxByM and AxByCzM respectively. The experimental spectra have been verified by a computer simulation. The chemical shifts and coupling constants of the lead organyls investigated show similar dependences on moleculare structure as well as number and species of the substituents like analogous organotin compounds.

Heavy n-alkanes and their mixtures were characterized by high temperature-simulated distillation using gas chromatography with a capillary column. In this work, the atmospheric boiling point is determined by the HT-SimDis GC method. In this study, molecular weights and density of n-alkanes were evaluated with this method by using retention times and normal boiling points as input data. ASTM D2887 calibration mixture containing 17 n-alkanes in the C6-C44 range were used for qualitative analyses. Retention times (tR) of n-alkanes were measured with this method. The other input data that normal boiling points (Tb) and molecular weight (M) had been taken in the literature. Experimental densities (at 20 °C) of n-alkanes were obtained from API Research Projects. Empirical molecular weight and density correlations were developed by using the nonlinear and multiple regressions with correlation coefficients. The results of calculations were compared with experimental data. Normal boiling point predictions were obtained as an average absolute deviation of 1.07%. Molecular weight and density results were evaluated as average absolute deviations of 0.68% and 0.21%, respectively.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) chloro complexation has been studied by titration calorimetry and spectrophotometry in solvent mixtures of N-methylformamide (NMF) and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). It revealed that a series of mononuclear CoClnn (2–n)+ (n=1–4) complexes are formed in the mixtures of NMF mole fraction x NMF=0.05 and 0.25, and the CoCl+, CoCl3 and CoCl4 2– complexes in the mixture of x NMF=0.5, and their formation constants, enthalpies and entropies were obtained. As compared with DMF, the complexation is markedly suppressed in the mixtures, as well as in NMF. The decreasing formation constant of CoCl+ with the NMF content is mainly ascribed to the decreasing formation entropy. DMF is aprotic and thus less-structured, whereas NMF is protic to form hydrogen- bonded clusters. In DMF-NMF mixtures, solvent clusters in neat NMF are ruptured to yield new clusters involving DMF, the structure of which depends on the solvent composition. The entropy of formation of CoCl+ will be discussed in relation to the liquid structure of DMF, NMF and their mixtures.  相似文献

In view of the nonlinear variation of the temperature increments ofn-alkanes found previously, the accuracy of the calculations of the retention indices (I pr) of substances in temperature-programmed capillary gas chromatography carried out in terms of six known equations was verified. A new four-parameter equation was proposed, and a general method for the calculation of its coefficients, suitable for all stationary phases, based on the adjusted retention times ofn-alkanes was suggested. The coefficients of the equation for 12 temperature variation programs were determined. Using the homologous series of methyl esters of fatty acids as an example, it was shown that the proposed equation ensures the minimum error of determination ofI pr under various conditions. The equation also makes it possible to carry out interpolation and extrapolation calculations. The coefficients of the equation are found using the least-squares method based on data for any 4–5 referencen-alkanes. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. The viscosity of pure n-alkanes and n-alkane mixtures was studied by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations using the Green–Kubo method. n-Alkane molecules were modeled based on the Transferable Potential for Phase Equilibria (TraPPE) united atom force field. MD simulations at constant number of molecules or particles, volume and temperature (NVT) were performed for n-C8 up to n-C96 at different temperatures as well as for binary and six-component n-alkane mixtures which are considered as prototypes for the hydrocarbon wax produced during the Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) Fischer–Tropsch process. For the pure n-alkanes, good agreement between our simulated viscosities and existing experimental data was observed. In the case of the n-alkane mixtures, the composition dependence of viscosity was examined. The simulated viscosity results were compared with literature empirical correlations. Moreover, a new macroscopic empirical correlation for the calculation of self-diffusion coefficients of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and water in n-alkanes and mixtures of n-alkanes was developed by combining viscosity and self-diffusion coefficient values in n-alkanes. The correlation was compared with the simulation data and an average absolute deviation (AAD) of 11.3% for pure n-alkanes and 14.3% for n-alkane mixtures was obtained.  相似文献

The vibrational (conventional and far-infrared) and diffuse-reflectance spectra in conjunction with magnetic susceptibility measurements over a temperature range down to liquid nitrogen temperature are reported and discussed for the complexes; [Mn(HPOX)2 X 2]; [Mn(HMPX)2 X 2]; [Fe(HPOX)(POX) X 2] and [Fe(HMPX)(MPX) X 2](whereHPOX=pyridine-2-aldoxime (C6H6N2O);POX=C6H5N2O;HMPX=6-Methylpyridine-2-aldoxime (C7H8N2O);MPX=C7H7N2O;X=Cl, Br, I, NO3, NCS, or OA c andX 2=SO4). On the basis of these physical studies a six-coordinated structure is suggested for the manganese(II) and iron(III) complexes.Mössbauer spectra, measured at room-temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature also indicated a six-coordinate geometry for iron(III) complexes.

Die Diskussion erfolgt basierend auf Infrarot-spektroskopie (inklusive fernes IR), Messungen der magnetischen Suszeptibilität (Temp. bis zu fl. N2) undMössbauer-Spektroskopie.

Molar excess volumes, V ijk E, and speeds of sound, U ijk , of o-toluidine (i) + benzene (j) + cyclohexane or n-hexane or n-heptane (k) ternary mixtures have been measured as a function of composition at 308.15 K. The observed speed of sound data have been utilized to determine the excess isentropic compressibilities, (K S E) ijk , of the ternary (i+j+k) mixtures. The Moelywn-Huggins concept (Huggins in Polymer 12: 389–399, 1971) of connectivity between the surfaces of the binary mixture constituents has been extended to ternary mixtures (using the concept of a connectivity parameter of third degree of molecules, 3 ξ, which in turn depends on its topology) to obtain an expression that describes well the measured V ijk E and (K S E) ijk data. The observed data have also been analyzed in terms of Flory’s theory.  相似文献

Complete active space self-consistent-field (CASSCF) approach has been used for the geometry optimization of the X2Σ+ and A2Π electronic states for the linear magnesium-containing carbon chains MgC2nH (n = 1–5). Multireference second-order perturbation theory (CASPT2) has been used to calculate the vertical excitation energies from the ground to selected seven excited states, as well as the potential energy curves of two 2Σ+ and two 2Π electronic states. The studies indicate that the vertical excitation energies of the A2Π ← X2Σ+ transition for MgC2nH (n = 1–5) are 2.837, 2.793, 2.767, 2.714, and 2.669 eV, respectively, showing remarkable linear size dependence. Compared with the previous TD-DFT and RCCSD(T) results, our estimates for MgC2nH (n = 1–3) are in the best agreement with the available observed data of 2.83, 2.78, and 2.74 eV, respectively. In addition, the dissociation energies in MgC2nH (n = 1–5) are also been evaluated.  相似文献

Isobaric state diagrams of various binaryn-alkane mixtures have been derived from DTA-measurements. They can be described by means of proper thermodynamic relations which are essentially taking into consideration the disparity in chain lengths. The discussion of the thermodynamic parameters is elucidating the physical situation in the longitudinal boundaries of extended mixed crystals such that stability conditions in binaryn-alkane systems can be developed. Ab initio calculations using a STO-3G basis set have been performed on the polymer systems (HBX) n where X = Be, BH, CH2, NH, and O. Energy band diagrams and accompanying density-of-states plots have been obtained. The highest filled orbital of (HBNH) n and (HBO) n occurs at the X-point and possesses character while the - framework orbital at the X- point is the highest filled level for (HBBe) n , (HBBH) n , and (HBCH2) n . The conduction band for all five species has symmetry and the band gap of the (HBX) n species increases in the order X = Be < BH < NH < O < CH2. An estimate of the energy of polymerisation of the (HBX) n systems suggests that HBNH is particularly stabilised by polymerisation. The electron distribution in (HBBe) n shows a - electron drift towards boron, while in the other four systems the net electron transfer is directed away from boron. There is significant electron back-donation to boron in (HBO) n and (HBNH) n .  相似文献

GC behavior of C6-C17 n-alkanes has been investigated at different temperatures of isothermal analysis and under temperature programming conditions using two capillary columns coated with OV-101 and OV-351 stationary phases. Temperature increments have been calculated for the homologs and their inequality has been demonstrated for each member of then-alkane series. It was shown that the nonlinear individual temperature variation of the energy of dispersive interaction ofn-alkane homologs with the stationary phase, which was observed under isothermal conditions, may be one of the main reasons for the nonlinear change in sorption parameters ofn-alkanes in temperature-programmed gas chromatography.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. The infrared spectra of orthoarsenates with apatite structure, of the formulaM 5(AsO4)3 X (M=Ca, Sr, Ba, Pb andX=F, Cl,Br) are measured and interpreted on the basis of a site-symmetry analysis. The influence of the different cations on the internal vibrations of the AsO3 4-ions is discussed.

The vapour-liquid equilibrium data obtained from isobarict-x-measurements have been used for calculation of the group UNIFAC parameters and excess free enthalpyG E of binary mixturesn-alkanes with isomericn-alkynes. The UNIFAC model gives satisfactory predictions for the systems studied. The temperature dependence ofG E was estimated on the basis of the heats of mixing measured earlier. The influence of the position of triple bond in the molecules ofn-alkynes on the excess thermodynamic functions is considered.

The mixed mercury complexes (2XC6H4)2N3HgY (X=CH3, F, Cl, Br, I;Y=SC2H5, SC6H5, SeC6H5) have been prepared. Both the Hg–S and Hg–Se bonds and, in contrast to other mixed triazenato-mercury compounds, the triazenato-mercury bonds have been shown to be kinetically labile on the NMR time scale by means of77Se and199Hg NMR spectroscopy. Evidence has been obtained for the presence of (2XC6H4)2N3HgY together with HgY 2 and [(2XC6H4)2N3]2Hg in solution.
