Current growth waveforms of transient negative point-to-plane discharge in N2 and in N2 with 0·025-0·1% admixture of SF6 at a pressure of 40 kPa have been measured and compared. The transient glow discharge regime in pure N2 was found to be preceded by a peaked current signal of conspicuous similarity to the first Trichel pulse rise and its initial decay in N2+SF6 mixture. The results are in a basic agreement with a hypothesis on streamer mechanism for Trichel pulse and indicate occurrence of field emission during the rise of Trichel pulse current.  相似文献

This paper presents the impulse pre-breakdown and breakdown characteristics of the plane-to-plane electrode system with a needle-shaped protrusion in SF6 gas. The breakdown voltage–time (Vt) characteristics and the breakdown voltage–gas pressure (Vp) characteristics of a highly non-uniform SF6 gas gap under positive and negative lightning impulse voltages are investigated in the pressure range between 0.1 and 0.5 MPa. The pre-breakdown developments are examined by the corona current and light emission measurements with high time resolution. As a result, the dielectric strengths versus time-to-breakdown of SF6 gas gap under positive lightning impulse voltages were nearly independent of the gas pressure. The first streamer corona was initiated at the tip of the needle electrode, and the streamer corona pulses developed with a stepwise propagation. The discharge paths were zigzag, and the branches of the discharge channel for positive polarity were created. On the other hand, the leader channel in the negative polarity was thicker and brighter than that in the positive polarity.  相似文献

The characteristics of a discharge and radiation in nitrogen and argon under pressures of 10–760 Torr and the discharge formation without pre-ionization of the gap from an auxiliary source are considered. A peak is detected on the pressure dependence of the radiation power of the second positive system of nitrogen for E 0/p ~ 270 V/cm Torr and nitrogen pressure p ~ 70 Torr. In the pressure range 10–760 Torr and for a voltage pulse leading front duration of ~ 10 ns, an electron beam is formed behind the grid anode with various half-amplitude pulse durations. It is shown that, under the given conditions, the electron beam is formed at the voltage pulse front both in the case of a discharge gap breakdown and in the absence of a clearly manifested breakdown, as well as for a 10-ns delay of breakdown at the leading front of a discharge current pulse.  相似文献

本文基于流体动力学理论改进出一种新的棒-板电极负电晕放电混合数值模型, 模型中加入了27种主要碰撞反应, 并考虑了光电离和二次电子发射过程. 对棒-板间距3.3 mm, 施加电压-5.0 kV情况下进行数值计算, 得到负电晕放电的特里切尔脉冲. 重点分析了单个特里切尔脉冲持续过程中5个关键时刻的微观特征量发展规律, 丰富并量化描述了特里切尔脉冲的微观过程, 主要结论如下: 随着放电时间的发展, 电场集中分布区域向阳极移动且幅值变小, 这对电子崩的发展非常不利. 大部分放电区域都是电中性的, 只有在阴极鞘和阳极鞘附近有带正电的等离子体特性, 带负电的离子云随着放电时间的发展缓慢向阳极发散式移动. 整个特里切尔脉冲持续过程中, 阴极鞘内电子密度几乎为0; 特里切尔脉冲前期, 阴极鞘附近电子密度迅速增加至最大值并保持基本不变; 随着放电时间的增加, 放电间隙内电子密度整体增加, 并且向阳极发展. 在特里切尔脉冲后期, 电子的产生主要来自于N2和O2的碰撞电离, 电子的消失则主要由N2+的复合决定, O4+和O2-分别是数量最多的正离子和负离子. 关键词: 负电晕 混合模型 特里切尔脉冲 微观特征量  相似文献

The influence of the bias voltage polarity Us on microstructure, crystallographic texture and magnetic properties has been investigated for Ni films with a thickness of ≈15–420 nm, which are obtained via magnetron sputtering at a working gas pressure P corresponding to the collision-deficient flight mode of atoms of the sputtered target between the target and the substrate. The Ni(111)-textured films have been shown to form at Us ≈–100 V, whose microstructure and magnetic parameters are almost unchanged with a thickness. In contrast, the Ni(200) films are formed at Us ≈ +100 V, whose magnetic properties and micro-structure depend significantly on the thickness d that manifests in a critical thickness d* ≈ 150 nm, when the structure of the film becomes inhomogeneous in the thickness, the remagnetization loops are changed from rectangular to supercritical with the formation of the band domain structure.  相似文献

The structure, phase composition, morphology, and electrical conductivity of Ni-Cu alloy ultrathin films having a thickness of d = 1?10 nm and a Cu concentration of 10–95 at % have been studied. All films are shown to be fcc Ni-Cu alloys; they have an island structure with an island size of 1.5–2 nm in the as-deposited films and of about 20 nm in the films annealed to 700 K. The electrical conductivity of the films depends on their thickness and morphology. For films with d ≈ 1 nm, the electrical conductivity is thermally activated with an activation energy E a ≈ 0.086?0.095 eV. Films with d > 3 nm exhibit the metallic temperature dependence of electrical conductivity with a positive temperature coefficient of resistivity.  相似文献

UV spectra of samples prepared by vacuum deposition of Sm and Yb thin films on 100–200-nm thick films of the RbAg4I5 solid electrolyte (SE) at 300–350 K contain strong absorption bands peaking at about 4.3 and 5.0 eV. After deposition of ~5 nm of Sm, the ionic conductivity σ of the samples decreases from σ 0 to ≈0.9 σ 0, and the SE lattice parameter, from 11.24 to ≈11.15 Å, with the x-ray reflection halfwidth increasing from 0.5 to 0.8°. Further growth of Sm concentration in the samples changes the x-ray diffraction pattern, the absorption at 4.3 and 5.0 eV increases, a new absorption edge forms at 3.8 eV, and σ decreases down to ~10?2 σ 0. It is conjectured that the strong UV absorption bands in heavily defected silver halides of the RbAg4I5-Sm(Yb) system is genetically related to the 4d 10→4d 95s electronic transitions in free Ag+ ions.  相似文献

Over eighty years, plenty of effort including simulations and experiments has been spent to reveal the ionization and quenching mechanisms of Trichel pulse. A low-voltage xenon-hydrogen discharge is considered theoretically at an interelectrode distance of L = 1 cm and cathode emission current densities of j s = 2–20 A/cm2. Basic parameters of the discharge plasma, in particular, the total hydrogen and xenon densities, are optimized to attain the maximum possible density of negative hydrogen ions \(N_{H^ - } (L)\) at the plasma-anode boundary. The distributions of the plasma parameters over the discharge gap are calculated for optimized regimes. According to calculations, at intermediate cathode emission current densities (j s ≈ 5–10 A/cm2) in optimized discharge regimes, the density of negative hydrogen ions in the anode region of the plasma is \(N_{H^ - } (L)\) ≈ (1.5–2.5) × 1012 cm?3 and the total plasma pressure is p 0 = 0.5–0.6 Torr.  相似文献

A SiO2 aerogel with absorbed deuterium is proposed as a target for the fusion reaction d + d → He3 + n induced by a superintense ultrashort laser pulse. The multiple inner ionization of oxygen and silicon atoms in the aerogel skeleton occurs in the superintense laser field. All the formed free electrons are heated and removed from the aerogel skeleton by the laser field at the front edge of the laser pulse. The subsequent Coulomb explosion of the deuterated charged aerogel skeleton propels the deuterium ions up to kinetic energies of ten keV and higher. The neutron yield is estimated at up to 105 neutrons per laser pulse for ~200–500 ps if the peak intensity is 1018 W/cm2 and the pulse duration is 35 fs.  相似文献

We have measured the E.coli bactericidal efficiency of DC and AC point-to-plane coronas in air and in argon in the corona modes positive glow, positive streamer, negative Trichel pulse and negative glow. Negative Trichel pulse and positive streamer coronas are the most efficient for production of bactericidal agents in air. Less than 5 minute exposure to the products from 30 A of these coronas will sterilize the E.coli covered agar surfaces in a 3l volume to a survival ratio of 10–5. Positive glow coronas are two orders of magnitude less efficient. 50 Hz AC coronas seem to mainly work during the negative half cycles. The bactericidal agent(s) produced by the coronas have not all been identified, but ozone O3 with concentration 35–40 ppm is probably the most important one. We show that charged particles and photons can play only a minor role, so the agent(s) must be neutral particles. The main part of them must have a lifetime in the vessel of more than 3 minutes. The much smaller, and volume/distance dependent, efficiency of coronas in humid argon indicates that metastable neutrals or radicals from H2O can play only a minor role. A preliminary test showed negligible effects of the corona treatment on the spores of Bacillus subtilis.  相似文献

A spin-polarized metastable deexcitation spectroscopy apparatus using a nozzle-skimmer pulsed discharge metastable atom source was developed. The oxygen adsorption dependence of the surface magnetism of thin iron films deposited on MgO(100) was investigated using this apparatus. The surface local density of states spilling towards the vacuum (SDOS) at around the Fermi energy, EF, for the clean surface shows a negative polarization to the bulk. The oxygen derived SDOS for the lightly oxygen adsorbed surfaces (2–10 L) also shows a negative polarization while the SDOS at EF changes its polarity to positive. The polarization of SDOS is not detected for the heavily oxidized surfaces (20–100 L).  相似文献

Results of spectroscopic investigations and current-voltage characteristics of corona discharge and back discharge on fly-ash layer, generated in point-plane electrode geometry in air at atmospheric pressure are presented in the paper. The characteristics of both discharges are similar but differ in the current and voltage ranges of all the discharge forms distinguished during the experiments. Three forms of back discharge, for positive and negative polarity, were investigated: glow, streamer and low-current back-arc. In order to characterize ionisation and excitation processes in back discharge, the emission spectra were measured and compared with those obtained for normal corona discharge generated in the same electrode configuration but with fly ash layer removed. The emission spectra were measured in two discharge zones: near the tip of needle electrode and near the plate. Visual forms of the discharge were recorded with digital camera and referred to current-voltage characteristics and emission spectra. The measurements have shown that spectral lines emitted by back discharge depend on the form of discharge and the discharge current. From the comparison of the spectral lines of back and normal discharges an effect of fly ash layer on the discharge morphology can be determined. The recorded emission spectra formed by ionised gas and plasma near the needle electrode and fly ash layer are different. It should be noted that in back arc emission, spectral lines of fly ash layer components can be distinguished. On the other hand, in needle zone, the emission of high intensity N2 second positive system and NO γ lines can be noticed. Regardless of these gaseous lines, also atomic lines of dust layer were present in the spectrum. The differences in spectra of back discharge for positive and negative polarities of the needle electrode have been explained by considering the kind of ions generated in the crater in fly ash layer. The aim of these studies is to better understand the discharge processes encountered in electrostatic precipitators.  相似文献

The initiation and development of discharges in purified water and hexane were studied for pulse rise times ofΤ r ≈ 2?3 nsec and pulse lengths ofΤ p≈10–50 nsec by an oscilloscopic method and with an electron-optical image converter. The results are compared with data on the nanosecond breakdown of gases. A physical interpretation is offered for the observed behavior.  相似文献

In the paper the results of experimental study of negative corona in a point – plane gap in a dust-free air flow at atmospheric pressure are presented. Both the low current mode (LCM) of the discharge and Trichel pulses are externally triggered by UV light. Close to the inception voltage of Trichel pulses short-duration current spikes appear besides the steady component of the LCM which indicates to the switch-on of Fowler-Nordheim type emission mechanism. At the inception voltage spike – Trichel pulse transition is recorded. The influence of dielectric layers at the cathode on the discharge parameters is discussed.  相似文献

X-ray spectra from Teflon targets irradiated by laser pulses with a duration of 60 fs to 1 ps have been investigated experimentally. It is shown that, when the contrast of the laser pulse is sufficiently low, the effect of self-focusing of the main laser pulse in the plasma produced by the prepulse can significantly enhance the generation efficiency of fast particles. In this case, ions with energies as high as ~1 MeV are observed at relatively low laser intensities, q las ≈ (4–6) × 1016 W/cm2.  相似文献

The nucleation and evolution of damage in annealed coarsely crystalline M1-type copper subjected to fast loading to a pressure P ~ 32 GPa, followed by the action of tensile stresses σ p with an intensity of ≈?2.0 GPa for a time t ≈ 0.3–1.5 μs, have been investigated numerically and experimentally. It has been shown that, at a specific combination of amplitude-time characteristics of the tensile stress pulse, damage localization in some cases at t < 1 μs has been observed in zones (~10–14 mm in size) alternating with “dead” zones (~3–5 mm in size) containing no visible damages. Pores are connected by “yield streamlets.” The existing multistage models of fracture kinetics have neither explained nor predicted the formation of a “band” damage structure or the presence of “yield streamlets” in specimens.  相似文献

A theory of a low-pressure discharge in a xenon-molecular hydrogen mixture is developed. It is shown that, in such a discharge, at an interelectrode distance of L = 1 cm and a total plasma pressure of p 0 ~ 1 Torr, the density of negative hydrogen ions produced via the dissociative attachment of thermal electrons to vibrationally excited molecules H2 can reach a value as high as NH ? ≥ 1012 cm?3. According to calculations, the electron temperature in discharge operating regimes under study attains T e ≈ 1?2 eV, which corresponds to the maximum of the e-v exchange rate constant of H2 molecules. This ensures a relatively high rate of vibrational pumping of H2 molecules in the discharge.  相似文献

Magnetic-field induced changes revealed in reflectance spectra R(λ) of nonmagnetic dielectrics Al2O3, LiF, and MgO in the IR range (λ = 2.5–25 μm) are reported. The reflectance spectra are shown to have specific features in the vicinity of the wavelengths corresponding to optical phonon mode excitation in these crystals, with the magnetic field giving rise to a noticeable change of reflectance ΔR/R(λ) at these wavelengths. The value of ΔR/R(λ) for p-(s-) polarized IR radiation in a magnetic field of ~13 kOe is ~0.6% (~0.4%) for Al2O3 at λ ≈ 9.6 μm, ~1.63% (~1.15) for LiF at λ ≈ 11.1 μm, and ~ 0.07 (~0.2%) for MgO at λ ≈ 11.7 μm, respectively. These changes can be increased substantially by irradiating the dielectric crystals by x-ray radiation. It is shown that the optical and magnetooptical properties of the above dielectrics in the IR spectral region can be described in terms of the polaron excitation theory.  相似文献

This paper deals with the numerical simulation of the Trichel pulse corona discharge in air under the room temperature and atmospheric pressure in the pin-plane configuration. A simplified drift-diffusion model of the discharge is considered with three species: electrons, positive and negative ions. The Total Variation Diminishing algorithm is used to stabilize the charge transport equations. The effect of the voltage level and the external circuit parameters on the average corona current, pulse frequency and pulse parameters are presented. The results of numerical predictions are compared with the experimental data.  相似文献
