Let (A,mA,k) be a local noetherian ring and I an mA-primary ideal. The asymptotic Samuel function (with respect to I) : A?R∪{+} is defined by , xA. Similarly, one defines, for another ideal J, as the minimum of as x varies in J. Of special interest is the rational number . We study the behavior of the asymptotic Samuel function (with respect to I) when passing to hyperplane sections of A as one does for the theory of mixed multiplicities.  相似文献

Goto numbers for certain parameter ideals Q in a Noetherian local ring (A,m) with Gorenstein associated graded ring are explored. As an application, the structure of quasi-socle ideals I=Q:mq (q≥1) in a one-dimensional local complete intersection and the question of when the graded rings are Cohen-Macaulay are studied in the case where the ideals I are integral over Q.  相似文献

Let K be a field of characteristic 0. Let be a reduced finite set of points, not all contained in a hyperplane. Let be the maximum number of points of Γ contained in any hyperplane, and let . If IR=K[x0,…,xn] is the ideal of Γ, then in Tohaˇneanu (2009) [12] it is shown that for n=2,3, d(Γ) has a lower bound expressed in terms of some shift in the graded minimal free resolution of R/I. In these notes we show that this behavior holds true in general, for any n≥2: d(Γ)≥An, where An=min{ain} and ⊕iR(−ai) is the last module in the graded minimal free resolution of R/I. In the end we also prove that this bound is sharp for a whole class of examples due to Juan Migliore (2010) [10].  相似文献

We describe the structure of d-dimensional sets of lattice points, having a small doubling property. Let K be a finite subset of Zd such that dimK=d?2. If and |K|>3⋅d4, then K lies on d parallel lines. Moreover, for every d-dimensional finite set KZd that lies on d?1 parallel lines, if , then K is contained in d parallel arithmetic progressions with the same common difference, having together no more than terms. These best possible results answer a recent question posed by Freiman and cannot be sharpened by reducing the quantity v or by increasing the upper bounds for |K+K|.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative local noetherian ring, and let L and L be R-modules. We investigate the properties of the functors and . For instance, we show the following:
(a)
if L and L are artinian, then is artinian, and is noetherian over the completion ;
(b)
if L is artinian and L is Matlis reflexive, then , , and are Matlis reflexive.

The concept of an enabling ideal is introduced so that an ideal I is strongly lifting if and only if it is lifting and enabling. These ideals are studied and their properties are described. It is shown that a left duo ring is an exchange ring if and only if every ideal is enabling, that Zhou’s δ-ideal is always enabling, and that the right singular ideal is enabling if and only if it is contained in the Jacobson radical. The notion of a weakly enabling left ideal is defined, and it is shown that a ring is an exchange ring if and only if every left ideal is weakly enabling. Two related conditions, interesting in themselves, are investigated: the first gives a new characterization of δ-small left ideals, and the second characterizes weakly enabling left ideals. As an application (which motivated the paper), let M be an I-semiregular left module where I is an enabling ideal. It is shown that mM is I-semiregular if and only if mqIM for some regular element q of M and, as a consequence, that if M is countably generated and IM is δ-small in M, then where for each i.  相似文献

In this paper we study the Cauchy problem of the non-isotropically perturbed fourth-order nonlinear Schrödinger type equation: ((x1,x2,…,xn)∈Rn, t?0), where a is a real constant, 1?d<n is an integer, g(x,|u|)u is a nonlinear function which behaves like α|u|u for some constant α>0. By using Kato method, we prove that this perturbed fourth-order Schrödinger type equation is locally well-posed with initial data belonging to the non-isotropic Sobolev spaces provided that s1,s2 satisfy the conditions: s1?0, s2?0 for or for with some additional conditions. Furthermore, by using non-isotropic Sobolev inequality and energy method, we obtain some global well-posedness results for initial data belonging to non-isotropic Sobolev spaces .  相似文献

We consider the 2m-th order elliptic boundary value problem Lu=f(x,u) on a bounded smooth domain ΩRN with Dirichlet boundary conditions on ∂Ω. The operator L is a uniformly elliptic linear operator of order 2m whose principle part is of the form . In this paper, the authors first establish the maximal function characterizations of the Besov-type space with and τ∈[0,), the Triebel-Lizorkin-type space with p∈(0,), q∈(0,] and τ∈[0,), the Besov-Hausdorff space with p∈(1,), q∈[1,) and and the Triebel-Lizorkin-Hausdorff space with and , where t denotes the conjugate index of t∈[1,]. Using this characterization, the authors further obtain the local mean characterizations of these function spaces via functions satisfying the Tauberian condition and establish a Fourier multiplier theorem on these spaces. All these results generalize the existing classical results on Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces by taking τ=0 and are also new even for Q spaces and Hardy-Hausdorff spaces.  相似文献

It was discovered some years ago that there exist non-integer real numbers q>1 for which only one sequence (ci) of integers ci∈[0,q) satisfies the equality . The set of such “univoque numbers” has a rich topological structure, and its study revealed a number of unexpected connections with measure theory, fractals, ergodic theory and Diophantine approximation.In this paper we consider for each fixed q>1 the set Uq of real numbers x having a unique representation of the form with integers ci belonging to [0,q). We carry out a detailed topological study of these sets. For instance, we characterize their closures, and we determine those bases q for which Uq is closed or even a Cantor set. We also study the set consisting of all sequences (ci) of integers ci∈[0,q) such that . We determine the numbers r>1 for which the map (defined on (1,∞)) is constant in a neighborhood of r and the numbers q>1 for which is a subshift or a subshift of finite type.  相似文献

Suppose E,F,G are locally convex spaces, is a bilinear operator and λ is a scalar sequence space. A series jxj in E is λ b multiplier convergent if for every t={tj}∈λ there exists xtE such that for every yF. Under continuity assumptions on the linear operators b(x,⋅), we establish several versions of the Orlicz-Pettis Theorem for multiplier convergent series. A scheme XPn of codimension c is called standard determinantal if its homogeneous saturated ideal can be generated by the t×t minors of a homogeneous t×(t+c−1) matrix (fij). Given integers a0a1≤?≤at+c−2 and b1≤?≤bt, we denote by the stratum of standard determinantal schemes where fij are homogeneous polynomials of degrees ajbi and is the Hilbert scheme (if nc>0, resp. the postulation Hilbert scheme if nc=0).Focusing mainly on zero and one dimensional determinantal schemes we determine the codimension of in and we show that is generically smooth along under certain conditions.
