Let X be a reflexive Banach space. We introduce the notion of weakly almost nonexpansive sequences (xn)n?0 in X, and study their asymptotic behavior by showing that the nonempty weak ω-limit set of the sequence (xn/n)n?1 always lies on a convex subset of a sphere centered at the origin of radius d=limn→∞‖xn/n‖. Subsequently we apply our results to study the asymptotic properties of unbounded trajectories for the quasi-autonomous dissipative system , where A is an accretive (possibly multivalued) operator in X×X, and ffLp((0,+∞);X) for some fX and 1?p<∞. These results extend recent results of J.S. Jung and J.S. Park [J.S. Jung, J.S. Park, Asymptotic behavior of nonexpansive sequences and mean points, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 124 (1996) 475-480], and J.S. Jung, J.S. Park, and E.H. Park [J.S. Jung, J.S. Park, E.H. Park, Asymptotic behaviour of generalized almost nonexpansive sequences and applications, Proc. Nonlinear Funct. Anal. 1 (1996) 65-79], as well as our results cited below containing previous results by several authors.  相似文献

Assuming the absence of Q-points (which is consistent with ZFC) we prove that the free topological group F(X) over a Tychonov space X is o-bounded if and only if every continuous metrizable image T of X satisfies the selection principle fin?(O,Ω) (the latter means that for every sequence 〈unnω of open covers of T there exists a sequence 〈vnnω such that vn∈[un]<ω and for every F∈[X]<ω there exists nω with F⊂?vn). This characterization gives a consistent answer to a problem posed by C. Hernándes, D. Robbie, and M. Tkachenko in 2000.  相似文献

It is known that the algebra of Schur operators on ?2 (namely operators bounded on both ?1 and ?) is not inverse-closed. When ?2=?2(X) where X is a metric space, one can consider elements of the Schur algebra with certain decay at infinity. For instance if X has the doubling property, then Q. Sun has proved that the weighted Schur algebra Aω(X) for a strictly polynomial weight ω is inverse-closed. In this paper, we prove a sharp result on left-invertibility of the these operators. Namely, if an operator AAω(X) satisfies ‖Afp?‖fp, for some 1?p?∞, then it admits a left-inverse in Aω(X). The main difficulty here is to obtain the above inequality in ?2. The author was both motivated and inspired by a previous work of Aldroubi, Baskarov and Krishtal (2008) [1], where similar results were obtained through different methods for X=Zd, under additional conditions on the decay.  相似文献

We study oscillation in the prefix-free complexity of initial segments of 1-random reals. For upward oscillations, we prove that nω2g(n) diverges iff (n)K(X?n)>n+g(n) for every 1-random Xω2. For downward oscillations, we characterize the functions g such that (n)K(X?n)<n+g(n) for almost every Xω2. The proof of this result uses an improvement of Chaitin's counting theorem—we give a tight upper bound on the number of strings σn2 such that K(σ)<n+K(n)−m.The work on upward oscillations has applications to the K-degrees. Write XK?Y to mean that K(X?n)?K(Y?n)+O(1). The induced structure is called the K-degrees. We prove that there are comparable () 1-random K-degrees. We also prove that every lower cone and some upper cones in the 1-random K-degrees have size continuum.Finally, we show that it is independent of ZFC, even assuming that the Continuum Hypothesis fails, whether all chains of 1-random K-degrees of size less than 02 have a lower bound in the 1-random K-degrees.  相似文献

Komjáth in 1984 proved that, for each sequence (An) of analytic subsets of a Polish space X, if lim supnHAn is uncountable for every Hω[N] then ?nGAn is uncountable for some Gω[N]. This fact, by our definition, means that the σ-ideal [X]?ω has property (LK). We prove that every σ-ideal generated by X/E has property (LK), for an equivalence relation EX2 of type Fσ with uncountably many equivalence classes. We also show the parametric version of this result. Finally, the invariance of property (LK) with respect to various operations is studied.  相似文献

Assume both □(κ) and κ fail. Then there is an inner model N with a proper class of strong cardinals such that XN. If, in addition, κ?02 and n<ω, then there is an inner model Mn(X) with n Woodin cardinals such that XMn(X). In particular, by Martin and Steel, Projective Determinacy holds. As a corollary to this and results of Todorcevic and Velickovic, the Proper Forcing Axiom for posets of cardinality +(02) implies Projective Determinacy.  相似文献

This note is devoted to a generalization of the Strassen converse. Let gn:R→[0,∞], n?1 be a sequence of measurable functions such that, for every n?1, and for all x,yR, where 0<C<∞ is a constant which is independent of n. Let be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables. Assume that there exist r?1 and a function ?:[0,∞)→[0,∞) with limt→∞?(t)=∞, depending only on the sequence such that lim supn→∞gn(X1,X2,…)=?(Er|X|) a.s. whenever Er|X|<∞ and EX=0. We prove the converse result, namely that lim supn→∞gn(X1,X2,…)<∞ a.s. implies Er|X|<∞ (and EX=0 if, in addition, lim supn→∞gn(c,c,…)=∞ for all c≠0). In this note we present one characterization of symmetry of probability distributions in Euclidean spaces which is formulated as follows. Let X and Y be independent and identically distributed random elements in a separable Euclidean space E. If Eeh|X|<, h>0, then the distribution of X is symmetric if and only if E|(XY,t)|p=E|(X+Y,t)|p for some 0<p<2 and for any tE. We discuss algebraic properties of the Weyl product acting on modulation spaces. For a certain class of weight functions ω we prove that is an algebra under the Weyl product if p∈[1,∞] and 1?q?min(p,p). We prove that the weighted sums V(n)=∑j=0aj(n)Xj, n?1 obey a moderately large deviation principle if the weights satisfy certain regularity conditions. We formulate a general theory of positions for subspaces of a Banach space: we define equivalent and isomorphic positions, study the automorphy index a(Y,X) that measures how many non-equivalent positions Y admits in X, and obtain estimates of a(Y,X) for X a classical Banach space such as ?p,Lp,L1,C(ωω) or C[0,1]. Then, we study different aspects of the automorphic space problem posed by Lindenstrauss and Rosenthal; namely, does there exist a separable automorphic space different from c0 or ?2? Recall that a Banach space X is said to be automorphic if every subspace Y admits only one position in X; i.e., a(Y,X)=1 for every subspace Y of X. We study the notion of extensible space and uniformly finitely extensible space (UFO), which are relevant since every automorphic space is extensible and every extensible space is UFO. We obtain a dichotomy theorem: Every UFO must be either an L-space or a weak type 2 near-Hilbert space with the Maurey projection property. We show that a Banach space all of whose subspaces are UFO (called hereditarily UFO spaces) must be asymptotically Hilbertian; while a Banach space for which both X and X are UFO must be weak Hilbert. We then refine the dichotomy theorem for Banach spaces with some additional structure. In particular, we show that an UFO with unconditional basis must be either c0 or a superreflexive weak type 2 space; that a hereditarily UFO Köthe function space must be Hilbert; and that a rearrangement invariant space UFO must be either L or a superreflexive type 2 Banach lattice.  相似文献

We investigate the existence of nonnegative weak solutions to the problem ut=Δ(um)−p|∇u| in Rn×(0,∞) with +(1−2/n)<m<1. It will be proved that: (i) When 1<p<2, if the initial datum u0D(Rn) then there exists a solution; (ii) When 1<p<(2+mn)/(n+1), if the initial datum u0(x) is a bounded and nonnegative measure then the solution exists; (iii) When (2+mn)/(n+1)?p<2, if the initial datum is a Dirac mass then the solution does not exist. It is well known that the commutator Tb of the Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operator is bounded on Lp(Rn) for 1 < p < +∞ if and only if b ∈ BMO [1]. On the other hand, the commutator Tb is bounded from H1(Rn) into L1(Rn) only if the function b is a constant [2]. In this article, we will discuss the boundedness of commutator of certain pseudo-differential operators on Hardy spaces H1. Let Tσ be the operators that its symbol is S01,δ with 0 ≤ δ < 1, if b ∈ LMO, then, the commutator [b, Tσ] is bounded from H1(Rn) into L1(Rn) and from L1(Rn) into BMO(Rn); If [b, Tσ] is bounded from H1(Rn) into L1(Rn) or L1(Rn) into BMO(Rn), then, b ∈ LMOloc.  相似文献
