In this paper, we consider exact control problem for a coupled system of plate with Gurtin‐Pipkin equation. Using duality arguments, the problem is reduced to the obtention of suitable observability estimates for the dual system. Firstly, we obtain the observability inequality of the dual system by means of multiplier method. Then, we prove that the system is exactly controllable based on the Hilbert Unique Method.  相似文献

In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a dissipative coupled system where we have interactions between a Kirchhoff plate and an Euler–Bernoulli plate. The dissipative mechanism is given by memory terms that act either collaboratively (in both equations) or unilaterally (in only one equation). We show that the solutions of this system decay to zero sometimes exponentially and other times polynomially. We found explicit decay rates that depend on the fractional exponents of the memory in each of the following cases: when the memory only acts in the Kirchhoff equation, or only in the Euler–Bernoulli equation, or in both. We also show that all decay rates found are the best. The results obtained are surprising for the following facts: in the collaborative case, the best decay rates of the system are given by the worst decay rates of the uncoupled equations, and in the unilateral case, we conclude that the memory effects in the Euler–Bernoulli equation dissipate the system more slowly than memory effects in the Kirchhoff equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a viscoelastic plate equation with a velocity-dependent material density and a logarithmic nonlinearity. Using the Faedo-Galaerkin approximations and the multiplier method, we establish the existence of the solutions of the problem and we prove an explicit and general decay rate result. Obtained are the existence of solutions and the local energy decay of a linear thermoelastic plate equation in a 3 dim. exterior domain. The thermoplate equation is formulated as a Sobolev equation in the abstract framework. Our proof of the existence theorem is based on an argument due to Goldstein (Semigroups of Linear Operators and Applications. Oxford University Press: New York, 1985). To obtain the local energy decay, we use the commutation method in order to treat the high‐frequency part and a precise expansion of the resolvent operator obtained by constructing the parametrix in order to treat the low‐frequency. In this paper, we consider a plate equation with infinite memory in the presence of delay and source term. Under suitable conditions on the delay and source term, we establish an explicit and general decay rate result without imposing restrictive assumptions on the behavior of the relaxation function at infinity. Heat exchange betweenmetal and fluid follows linear Newton's cooling law as longas the inaccessible side is not damaged. We assume that theeffects of corrosion are modelled by means of a nonlinear perturbationin the exchange law. On the other hand, we are able to heatthe conductor and take temperature maps of the accessible side.Our goal is to recover the nonlinear perturbation of the exchangelaw on the top side from thermal data collected on the oppositeone (thermal imaging). In this paper, we use a stationary model,i.e. the temperature inside the plate is assumed to fulfil Laplace'sequation. Hence, our problem is stated as an inverse ill-posedproblem for Laplace's equation with nonlinear boundary conditions.We study identifiability and local Lipschitz stability. Recently, it is found that telegraph equation is more suitable than ordinary diffusion equation in modelling reaction diffusion for such branches of sciences. In this article, we propose a numerical scheme to solve the one‐dimensional hyperbolic telegraph equation using collocation points and approximating the solution using thin plate splines radial basis function. The scheme works in a similar fashion as finite difference methods. The results of numerical experiments are presented, and are compared with analytical solutions to confirm the good accuracy of the presented scheme. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We study the high‐contrast biharmonic plate equation with Hsieh–Clough–Tocher discretization. We construct a preconditioner that is robust with respect to contrast size and mesh size simultaneously based on the preconditioner proposed by Aksoylu et al. (Comput. Vis. Sci. 2008; 11 :319–331). By extending the devised singular perturbation analysis from linear finite element discretization to the above discretization, we prove and numerically demonstrate the robustness of the preconditioner. Therefore, we accomplish a desirable preconditioning design goal by using the same family of preconditioners to solve the elliptic family of PDEs with varying discretizations. We also present a strategy on how to generalize the proposed preconditioner to cover high‐contrast elliptic PDEs of order 2k, k>2. Moreover, we prove a fundamental qualitative property of the solution to the high‐contrast biharmonic plate equation. Namely, the solution over the highly bending island becomes a linear polynomial asymptotically. The effectiveness of our preconditioner is largely due to the integration of this qualitative understanding of the underlying PDE into its construction. In our prior work, the two-dimensional bending and in-plane mode shape functions of isotropic rectangular plates were solved based on the extended Kantorovich–Krylov method. These plate modes were then applied to sandwich plate analysis using the assumed modes method. Numerical results has shown these two-dimensional plate modes improved our sandwich plate analysis. However, the rigorous mathematical convergence proof of the extended Kantorovich–Krylov method is lacking. In this article, we provide a rigorous mathematical convergence proof of the extended Kantorovich–Krylov method using the example of rectangular plate bending vibration, in which the governing equation is a biharmonic equation. The predictions of natural frequency and mode shape functions based on the extended Kantorovich–Krylov method were calculated and the results were numerically validated by other analyses. A similar convergence proof can be applied to other types of partial differential equations (PDEs) that govern vibration problems in engineering applications. Based on these results, the extended Kantorovich–Krylov method was proven to be a powerful tooi for the boundary value problems of partial differential equations in the structural vibrations.  相似文献

In the present analysis, the motion of an immersed plate in a Newtonian fluid described by Torvik and Bagley’s fractional differential equation [1] has been considered. This Bagley Torvik equation has been solved by operational matrix of Haar wavelet method. The obtained result is compared with analytical solution suggested by Podlubny [2]. Haar wavelet method is used because its computation is simple as it converts the problem into algebraic matrix equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the plate equation with both weak frictional damping and viscoelastic damping acting simultaneously and complementarily in the domain. An energy decay rate formula is obtained under nonrestrictive hypotheses on the relaxation function and the frictional damping term. H-measures, as originally introduced by Luc Tartar and Patrick Gérard, are suited to hyperbolic problems. However, they turned out not to be well adjusted to the study of parabolic equations. A variant of H-measures is proposed, which is much better adapted to such kind of problems. We present the new parabolic scaling and the main ingredients for the proof of existence of the new variant. Some applications to the Schrödinger equation and vibrating plate equation are shown, together with an outlook to possible applications in other problems.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to a study of the null controllability for the semilinear parabolic equation with a complex principal part. For this purpose, we establish a key weighted identity for partial differential operators (with real functions α and β), by which we develop a universal approach, based on global Carleman estimate, to deduce not only the desired explicit observability estimate for the linearized complex Ginzburg-Landau equation, but also all the known controllability/observability results for the parabolic, hyperbolic, Schrödinger and plate equations that are derived via Carleman estimates.  相似文献
