Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 microspheres with a tap density of 2.41 g cm−3 have been synthesized for applications in high power and high energy systems, using a simple rheological phase reaction route. Cyclic voltammograms (CV) showed no shift of anodic and cathodic peaks centred at 3.81, 3.69 V for the Ni2+/Ni4+ couple after first cycle. The results of power pulse area specific impedance (ASI) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) tests showed lower power impedance and increased thermal stability of the electrode at high rate. These merits mentioned above provided significant improved capacity and rate performance for Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 microspheres, which 159, 147 mAh g−1 discharge capacity was delivered after 100 cycles between 2.5–4.6 V vs. Li at a different discharge rate of 2.5 C (500 mA g−1), 5 C and a constant 0.5 C charge rate, respectively.  相似文献

The whole range of solid solutions Li(Li(1−x)/3CoxMn(2−2x)/3)O2 (0  x  1) was firstly synthesized by an aqueous solution method using poly-vinyl alcohol as a synthetic agent to investigate their structure and electrochemical properties. X-ray diffraction results indicated that the synthesized solid solutions showed a single phase without any detectable impurity phase and have a hexagonal structure with some additional peaks caused by monoclinic distortion, especially in the solid solutions with a low Co amount. In the electrochemical examination, the solid solutions in the range between 0.2  x  0.9 showed higher discharge capacity and better cyclability than LiCoO2 (x = 1) on cycling between 2.0 and 4.6 V with 100 mA g−1 at 25 °C. For example, Li(Li0.2Co0.4Mn0.4)O2 (x = 0.4) exhibited a high discharge capacity of 180 mA h g−1 at the 50th cycle. By synthesizing the solid solution between Li2MnO3 and LiCoO2, the electrochemical properties of the end members were improved.  相似文献

Na4Co2.4Mn0.3Ni0.3(PO4)2P2O7 has been evaluated as a positive electrode for sodium-ion batteries. The novel material has two redox couples around 4.2 V and 4.6 V and can deliver the high capacity of ca. 103 mAh g 1 at the high current density of 850 mA g 1 (5 C). X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) results show that the redox reactions of Co, Mn and Ni ions proceed simultaneously in the charge process and it is indicated the novel material provide high mixed potential by the redox reactions of Co, Mn and Ni ions. These findings suggest that the derivatives of Na4Co3(PO4)2P2O7 should be employed as high potential and high capacity electrode materials.  相似文献

To improve the electrochemical properties of Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 at high charge end voltage (4.6 V), a series of the mixed transition metal compounds, Li(Ni1/3Co1/3 − x Mn1/3M x )O2 (M = Mg, Cr, Al; x = 0.05), were synthesized via hydroxide coprecipitation method. The effects of doping Mg, Cr, and Al on the structure and the electrochemical performances of Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 were compared by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), galvanostatic charge–discharge tests, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The XRD results show that all the samples keep layered structures with R3m space group as the Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2. SEM images show that all the compounds have spherical shapes and the Cr-doped sample has the largest particle size. Furthermore, galvanostatic charge–discharge tests confirm that the Cr-doped electrode shows improved cycling performance than the undoped material. The capacity retention of Li(Ni1/3Co1/3 − 0.05Mn1/3Cr0.05)O2 is 97% during 50 cycles at 2.8∼4.6 V. The improved cycling performance at high voltage can be attributed to the larger particle size and the prevention of charge transfer resistance (R ct) increase during cycling.  相似文献

Olivine LiCoPO4 phase grown LiCoO2 cathode material was prepared by mixing precipitated Co3(PO4)2 nanoparticles and LiCoO2 powders in distilled water, followed by drying and annealing at 120 °C and 700 °C, respectively, for 5 h. As opposed to ZrO2 or AlPO4 coatings that showed a clearly distinguishable coating layer from the bulk materials, Co3(PO4)2 nanoparticles were completely diffused into the surface of the LiCoO2 and reacted with lithium of LiCoO2. An olivine LiCoPO4 phase was grown on the surface of the bulk LiCoO2, with a thickness of ∼7 nm. The electrochemical properties of the LiCoPO4 phase, grown in LiCoO2, had excellent cycle life performance and higher working voltages at a 1C rate than the bare sample. More importantly, Li-ion cells, containing olivine LiCoPO4, grown in LiCoO2, showed only 10% swelling at 4.4 V, whereas those containing bare sample showed a 200% increase during storage at 90 °C for 5 h. In addition, nail penetration test results of the cell containing olivine LiCoPO4, grown in LiCoO2 at 4.4 V, did not exhibit thermal runaway with a cell surface temperature of ∼80 °C. However, the cell containing bare LiCoO2 showed a burnt-off cell pouch with a temperature above 500 °C.  相似文献

Synchrotron based in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques are used to study electronic and crystal structure changes of the carbon coated LiFe1/4Mn1/4Co1/4Ni1/4PO4 (LiFe1/4Mn1/4Co1/4Ni1/4PO4/C) cathode material for Li-ion batteries during the first charge. In situ Fe, Mn, Co and Ni K-edge XAS results revealed that the three voltage plateaus at ~3.6, 4.2 and 4.7 V vs. Li/Li+ are attributed to the redox reactions of Fe2+/Fe3+, Mn2+/Mn3+ and Co2+/Co3+, respectively, while the apparent capacities above 4.9 V is not originated from the Ni2+/Ni3+ redox, but very likely from the electrolyte decomposition. Interesting phase transition behaviors of LiFe1/4Mn1/4Co1/4Ni1/4PO4/C were observed with the formation of an intermediate phase and the solid solution regions. Combined in situ XAS and XRD techniques indicate fast electronic structural changes and slow bulk crystal structural changes.  相似文献

A novel layered ternary material K0.67Ni0.17Co0.17Mn0.66O2 has been fabricated via a co-precipitation assisted solid-phase method and further evaluated as a cathode for potassium-ion batteries for the first time. Highly reversible K+ intercalation/deintercalation is demonstrated in this material. It delivers a reversible capacity of 76.5 mAh/g with average voltage of 3.1 V and shows good cycling performance with capacity retention of 87% after 100 cycles at 20 mA/g. This work may give a new insight into developing cathode materials for potassium-ion batteries.  相似文献

We report the use of Li(Ni0.8Co0.2)O2 coated with different amounts of anatase (TiO2) as a cathode material for lithium-ion cells. Electrochemical behavior is modified owing to coating and/or incorporation of titanium into the first few surface layers of Li(Ni0.8Co0.2)O2. Compositions with molar concentrations of x=0.005 and 0.02 exhibit better capacity retention than the mother compound (40 cycles, 0.5 C rate, 2.75–4.30 V). Electronic Publication  相似文献

The carbon-coated Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 was synthesized from the porous Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 precursor using citric acid as the carbon source. The electrochemical results showed that both cycling performance and rate capability were improved by the carbon-coating of the Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 materials. It is proposed that the enhanced electrochemical properties by the carbon-coating are attributed to the increased electronic conductivity because the carbon distributed among the surfaces of spherical Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 powders favored the transference of electron and reduced cell polarization.  相似文献

Li(Mn1/3Ni1/3Co1/3)O2 cathode materials were fabricated by a hydroxide precursor method. Al2O3 was coated on the surface of the Li(Mn1/3Ni1/3Co1/3)O2 through a simple and effective one-step electrostatic self-assembly method. In the coating process, a NHCO3-H2CO3 buffer was formed spontaneously when CO2 was introduced into the NaAlO2 solution. Compared with bare Li(Mn1/3M1/3Co1/3)O2, the surface-modified samples exhibited better cycling performance, rate capability and rate capability retention. The Al2O3-coated Li(Mn1/3Ni1/3Co1/3)O2 electrodes delivered a discharge capacity of about 115 mAh·g?1 at 2 A·g?1, but only 84 mAh·g?1 for the bare one. The capacity retention of the Al2O3-coated Li(Mn1/3Ni1/3Co1/3)O2 was 90.7% after 50 cycles, about 30% higher than that of the pristine one.  相似文献

Two novel inorganic–organic hybrid compounds composed of Keggin tungstocobaltate framework and cobalt(II)–N coordination complexes, K[Co(phen)2(H2O)]2[HCoW12O40]·2H2O (1) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) and [Co(2,2′-bipy)3]1.5{[Co(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)][HCoW12O40]·0.5H2O (2) (bipy = bipyridine), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions by directly using Keggin POMs as starting materials, which were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, TG analyses and X-ray single crystal diffraction. Crystal data for compound 1: C48H41Co3KN8O44W12, triclinic, space group P-1, a = 10.918(5) Å, b = 13.401(5) Å, c = 13.693(5) Å, α = 69.291(5)°, β = 71.568(5)°, γ = 78.421(5)°, V = 1768.9(12) Å3, Z = 1; for compound 2: C130H104Co7N26O83W24, orthorhombic, space group, C2/c, a = 46.839(9) Å, b = 14.347(3) Å, c = 26.147(5) Å, α = β = γ = 90°, V = 17,570(6) Å3, Z = 4. Compound 1 exhibits a pseudo-1D chainlike structure, in which potassium ions act as linkages of Keggin unit doubly grafted by [Co(phen)2(H2O)] complex. Compound 2 represents a [Co(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)]2+ mono-grafted Keggin tungstocobaltate derivative with 1.5[Co(2,2′-bipy)3]2+ countercations. The cyclic voltammetric behavior of 1-CPE is similar to the parent 3-CPE, but the cyclic voltammetric behavior of CoII shows a little difference. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement of compound 1 demonstrates the presence of antiferromagnetic interactions.  相似文献

The forming of surface species during the adsorption of carbon monoxide (CO) and CO/O2 on a CeO2/Co3O4 catalyst was investigated by in situ Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and temperature programmed desorption-mass spectroscopy (TPD-MS). When CO was adsorbed on the CeO2/Co3O4 catalyst, two types of surface species were distinguishable at room temperature: carbonate and bicarbonate. Surface carbonate was adsorbed on the cerium and cobalt, while the surface bicarbonate absorbed on the CeO2/Co3O4 catalyst at 1611, 1391, 1216 and 830 cm−1. Furthermore, the TPD-MS profiles revealed that the CeO2/Co3O4 catalyst showed a greater amount of CO2 than CO at 373 K. The CO desorption from the CeO2/Co3O4 catalyst with increasing temperature showed that the order of thermal stability was surface bicarbonate < surface carbonate < interface carbonate species. Interestingly, the residual carbonate species could remain on the interface up to 473 K. The results revealed that surface bicarbonate could promote the conversion of CO into CO2 for CO oxidation below 50 K.  相似文献

Strategies for countering the solubility of LiMn2O4 (spinel) electrodes at 50 °C and for suppressing the reactivity of layered LiMO2 (M=Co, Ni, Mn, Li) electrodes at high potentials are discussed. Surface treatment of LiMn2O4 with colloidal zirconia (ZrO2) dramatically improves the cycling stability of the spinel electrode at 50 °C in Li/LiMn2O4 cells. ZrO2-coated LiMn0.5Ni0.5O2 electrodes provide a superior capacity and cycling stability to uncoated electrodes when charged to a high potential (4.6 V vs Li0). The use of Li2ZrO3, which is structurally more compatible with spinel and layered electrodes than ZrO2 and which can act as a Li+-ion conductor, has been evaluated in composite 0.03Li2ZrO3 · 0.97LiMn0.5Ni0.5O2 electrodes; glassy LixZrO2 + x/2 (0<x⩽2) products can be produced from colloidal ZrO2 for surface coatings.  相似文献

Li0.93[Li0.21Co0.28Mn 0.51]O2 nanoparticles with an R-3m space group is hydrothermally prepared from Co0.35Mn0.65O2 obtained from an ion-exchange reaction with K-birnessite K0.32MnO2 at 200 °C. Even at a hydrothermal reaction temperature of 150 °C, the spinel (Fd3m) phase is dominant, and a layered phase became dominant by combining an increase in the temperature to 200 °C with an increase in lithium concentration. The as-prepared cathode particle has plate-like hexagonal morphology with a size of 100 nm and thickness of 20 nm. The first discharge capacity of the cathode is 258 mAh/g with an irreversible capacity ratio of 22%, and the capacity retention after 30 cycles is 95% without developing a plateau at ∼3 V. Capacity retention of the cathode discharge is 84% at 4C rate (=1000 mA/g) and shows full capacity recovery when decreasing the C rate to 0.1 C.  相似文献

LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 cathode materials for the application of lithium ion batteries were synthesized by carbonate co-precipitation routine using different ammonium salt as a complexant. The structures and morphologies of the precursor [Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]CO3 and LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 were investigated through X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and transmission electron microscopy. The electrochemical properties of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 were examined using charge/discharge cycling and cyclic voltammogram tests. The results revealed that the microscopic structures, particle size distribution, and the morphology properties of the precursor and electrochemical performance of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 were primarily dependent on the complexant. Among all as-prepared LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 cathode materials, the sample prepared from Na2CO3–NH4HCO3 routine using NH4HCO3 as the complexant showed the smallest irreversible capacity of 19.5 mAh g−1 and highest discharge capacity of 178.4 mAh g−1 at the first cycle as well as stable cycling performance (98.7% of the initial capacity was retained after 50 cycles) at 0.1 C (20 mA g−1) in the voltage range of 2.5–4.4 V vs. Li+/Li. Moreover, it delivered high discharge capacity of over 135 mAh g−1 at 5 C (1,000 mA g−1).  相似文献

This paper reports the microwave-assisted synthesis of Co3O4 nanomaterials with different morphologies including nanoparticles, rod-like nanoclusters and macroporous platelets. The new macroporous platelet-like Co3O4 morphology was found to be the best suitable for reversible lithium storage properties. It displayed superior cycling performances than nanoparticles and rod-like nanoclusters. More interestingly, excellent high rate capabilities (811 mAh g?1 at 1780 mA g?1 and 746 mAh g?1 at 4450 mA g?1) were observed for macroporous Co3O4 platelet. The good electrochemical performance could be attributed to the unique macroporous platelet structure of Co3O4 materials.  相似文献

With an aim to suppress the huge irreversible capacity loss encountered in high capacity layered oxide solid solutions between Li2MnO3 and LiMO2 (M = Mn, Ni, and Co), layered Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2–V2O5 composite cathodes with various V2O5 contents have been investigated. The irreversible capacity loss decreases from 68 mAh/g at 100% Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2 to 0 mAh/g around 89 wt.% Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2–11 wt.% V2O5 as the lithium-free V2O5 serves as an insertion host to accommodate the lithium ions that could not be inserted back into the layered lattice after the first charge. The Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2–V2O5 composite cathodes with about 10–12 wt.% V2O5 exhibit an attractive discharge capacity of close to 300 mAh/g with little irreversible capacity loss and good cyclability.  相似文献

A series of lithium–manganese–nickel-oxide compositions that can be represented in three-component notation, xLi[Mn1.5Ni0.5]O4 · (1  x){Li2MnO3 · Li(Mn0.5Ni0.5)O2}, in which a spinel component, Li[Mn1.5Ni0.5]O4, and two layered components, Li2MnO3 and Li(Mn0.5Ni0.5)O2, are structurally integrated in a highly complex manner, have been evaluated as electrodes in lithium cells for x = 1, 0.75, 0.50, 0.25 and 0. In this series of compounds, which is defined by the Li[Mn1.5Ni0.5]O4–{Li2MnO3 · Li(Mn0.5Ni0.5)O2} tie-line in the Li[Mn1.5Ni0.5]O4–Li2MnO3–Li(Mn0.5Ni0.5)O2 phase diagram, the Mn:Ni ratio in the spinel and the combined layered Li2MnO3 · Li(Mn0.5Ni0.5)O2 components is always 3:1. Powder X-ray diffraction patterns of the end members and the electrochemical profiles of cells with these electrodes are consistent with those expected for the spinel Li[Mn1.5Ni0.5]O4 (x = 1) and for ‘composite’ Li2MnO3 · Li(Mn0.5Ni0.5)O2 layered electrode structures (x = 0). Electrodes with intermediate values of x exhibit both spinel and layered character and yield extremely high capacities, reaching more than 250 mA h/g with good cycling stability between 2.0 V and 4.95 V vs. Li° at a current rate of 0.1 mA/cm2.  相似文献

Transition metal oxides with composite xLi2MnO3 ·  (1  x)LiMO2 rocksalt structures (M = Mn, Ni, Co) are of interest as a new generation of cathode materials for high energy density lithium-ion batteries. After electrochemical activation to 4.6 or 4.8 V (vs. Li0) at 50 °C, xLi2MnO3 · (1  x)LiMn0.33Ni0.33Co0.33O2 (x = 0.5, 0.7) electrodes deliver initial discharge capacities (>300 mAh/g) at a low current rate (0.05 mA/cm2) that exceed the theoretical values for lithiation back to the rocksalt stoichiometry (240–260 mAh/g), at least during the early charge/discharge cycles of the cells. Attention is drawn to previous reports of similar, but unaccounted and unexplained anomalous behavior of these types of electrode materials. Possible reasons for this anomalous capacity are suggested. Indications are that electrodes in which M = Mn, Ni and Co do not cycle with the same stability at 50 °C as those without cobalt.  相似文献

A cerium(IV) phosphate has been prepared using precipitation methods and its structure has been solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction (R1 = 0.0292 for 3092 reflections with I>2σ(I) and wR2 = 0.0540). Ce(H2O)(PO4)3/2(H3O)1/2(H2O)1/2 crystallises in the monoclinic space group C2/c (a = 15.7058(17) Å, b = 9.6261(9) Å, c = 10.1632(4) Å, ß = 121.623(7)°, and V = 1308.4 (2) Å3). Its structure is based on a negatively charged 3D framework, made of cerium atoms connected by PO4 tetrahedra. There are two types of PO4 units; one shares only corners with the cerium coordination polyhedra while the other one shares edges and corners. This structure also includes hydronium cations, to balance the framework charge, and water molecules. One special feature of this 3D framework is the formation of interconnected tunnels which extend along the c axis and contain the hydronium cations and the water molecules. This open framework and the presence of cationic species in the tunnels are in perfect agreement with the previously reported ion exchange properties.  相似文献
