We present a stable, high-power, fiber-laser-pumped, continuous-wave (cw), singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) for the mid-infrared in an output-coupled (OC) configuration, providing 17.5 W of total output power at 61% extraction efficiency. Using a single-frequency, cw Yb fiber laser at 1064 nm and a 50-mm-long MgO:PPLN crystal, through optimization of signal output coupling we generate up to 9.8 W of signal power in the near-infrared together with 7.7 W of idler power for 28.6 W of pump, while in the absence of output coupling, 8.6 W of idler power is generated for the same pump power at 30% efficiency. The SRO is tunable over 360 nm in the idler range. The deployment of signal output coupling results in a total tuning of 513 nm (120 nm of signal, 393 nm of idler) over which watt-level output power can be extracted. Through careful control of thermal effects we achieve a long-term peak-to-peak idler power stability of 5% over 14 hours near room temperature. The output beams have TEM00 spatial profile with M 2<1.28 for the idler and M 2<1.37 for the signal.  相似文献

We report a continuous-wave (CW) mid-infrared singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) based on periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3 (PPMgLN) pumped by a high power, single frequency fiber laser in master oscillator-power amplifier (MOPA) configuration at 1.064 μm. Using four-mirror ring OPO cavities, at the PPMgLN’s grating period of 30.5 μm and the temperature of 23°C, we achieved the maximum idler output power of 7.2 W at 3.4 μm when the pump power was 52.8 W. The total power-conversion efficiency from the pump to the idler in this experiment is about 13.6%, and corresponds to ∼44% of quantum-limited performance.  相似文献

A continuous wave (CW), extra-cavity singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) has been demonstrated. The SRO is based on 5% magnesium-oxide doped periodically-poled lithium niobate (MgO:PPLN) pumped by a CW Nd:YVO4/YVO4 ring laser centered at 1064.4 nm. The nonlinear crystal temperature is kept at 120.0 ± 0.1°C and a domain period of 30 μm is used in this experiment. When the pump power is 11 W, an output power of 2.0 W at the idler wavelength of 3.479 μm has been obtained from the OPO. The optical-optical conversion efficiency is about 18.2%, and the slope efficiency is about 20.8%.  相似文献

We report a continuous-wave singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) with more than 12 W of idler power at 3414 nm when it was operated at 30°C. The SRO was directly pumped by a single-frequency, ytterbium-doped fiber laser with 49 W linear polarization pump powers, and based on 50 mm long periodically poled MgO:LiNbO3 crystal (PPMgLN) in two-mirror linear cavity with 30.5 μm grating period. It’s pump power at threshold was 5.4 W. The slope-efficiency and quantum-limited performance reached 26 and 79.2%, respectively. The beam polarization matched the ee + e interaction in crystal. The idler waves were temperature tuned in the range of 3654 to 3811 nm and 3248 to 3414 nm based on two 50 mm long PPMgLN with 29.5 and 30.5 μm grating period. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest continuouswave mid-IR output obtained for a fiber laser pumped optical parametric oscillator (OPO).  相似文献

We present a cascaded continuous-wave singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) delivering idler output in mid-IR and terahertz frequency range. The SRO was pumped by an ytterbium-doped fiber laser with 27 W linear polarization pump powers, and based on periodically poled MgO:LiNbO3 crystal (PPMgLN) in two-mirror linear cavity. The PPMgLN is 50 mm long with 29.5 μm period. The idler power output at 3811 nm was obtained 2.6 W. The additional spectral components that have been attributed to cascaded optical parametric processes are described at increasing pump levels. Besides the initial signal component at about 1476.8 nm, further generated wavelengths with frequency shifts about 47 cm?1, 94 cm?1 and 104 cm?1 were observed. It was speculated that the idler waves lie in the terahertz (THz) domain from the observed results.  相似文献

Stable, high-power, second-harmonic-generation (SHG) of a compact CW Ytterbium (Yb) fiber laser at 1064 nm into the green and its use as a pump source for CW singly-resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) is demonstrated. Using a simple single-pass SHG configuration in MgO:sPPLT, as much as 9.6 W of single-frequency green radiation at 532 nm is generated from 30 W of fundamental power at a conversion efficiency of 32.7% in a Gaussian spatial profile with a beam quality factor of M 2 < 1.3. Thermal effects have been investigated at different fundamental power levels and various thermal management schemes are employed to maximize the second-harmonic power. The green source is successfully deployed to pump a CW SRO tunable over 855–1408 nm, generating up to 2.1 W of idler at 1168 nm. The peak-to-peak idler power stability is better than 10.7% over 40 min, with beam quality factor M 2 < 1.26 for the idler and M 2 < 1.52 for the signal.  相似文献

A continuous wave (CW), extra-cavity singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) has been demonstrated. The SRO was based on 5% Magnesium-Oxide doped periodically-poled Lithium Nio-bate (MgO:PPLN) pumped by a Yb fiber laser centered at 1064.7 nm. The SRO was able to generate light with idler wavelengths ranging from 2.9 to 4.1 μm. For a pump power of 15 W, the idler output power varied from 7.54 W at 3.03 μm to 1.04 W at 4.05 μm. The oscillation thresholds were 2.0 W at idler wavelength 3.03 μm and 7.0 W at 4.05 μm.  相似文献

A high efficiency KTiOAsO4(KTA) intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO) is demonstrated within a diode-side-pumped acousto-optically (AO) Q-switched two-rod Nd:YAG laser. With a 25-mm-long X-cut KTA crystal, efficient parametric conversions to signal (1.54 μm) and idler (3.47 μm) waves are realized. The highest output power of 15.8 W including 12.7 W signal and 3.1 W idler power is obtained at a repetition rate of 7.5 kHz and a pump power of 208 W, corresponding to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of up to 7.6%. The signal pulse duration is 32 ns with a peak power of 53 kW. At a repetition rate of 12.5 kHz and the pump power of 208 W, the highest idler power of 3.4 W is obtained with a peak power of 14 kW and a pulse duration of 19 ns. And the beam quality factors (M 2) of the signal and idler waves are determined to be around 2 and 20, respectively.  相似文献

We describe a compact all-solid-state continuous-wave, singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) based on periodically poled RbTiOAsO4. The SRO is pumped at 1.064 microm by a Nd:YVO4 laser, which is itself pumped by a 3-W diode laser. Using the intracavity technique produced an oscillation threshold for the SRO of only 1.6 W (diode-laser power). For 3 W of diode pump power some 65 mW was obtained in the (nonresonant) idler (wavelength 3.52 microm). Temperature tuning over the range 10-100 degrees C resulted in tuning ranges of 1.52-1.54 and 3.41-3.54 microm for the signal and the idler waves, respectively. Importantly, relaxation oscillations were absent.  相似文献

Singly 0.5 at.% Ho doped crystals of YLiF4 (YLF) and LuLiF4 (LLF) are studied under identical pump conditions in continuous-wave (CW) and Q-switched operation. Longitudinal end-pumped CW laser performance shows Ho:LLF to have a slightly lower threshold and a slightly higher slope efficiency with respect to absorbed pump power than Ho:YLF. Both lasers were operated on π-polarization. At a cavity output coupling of 20% and a crystal length of 30 mm, the Ho:LLF (Ho:YLF) laser yielded 18.8 W (18 W) of CW output at a wavelength of 2067.8 nm (2064.0 nm) for 41.4 W (42.2 W) of absorbed pump power with a slope efficiency of 67.1% (65.6%) and an optical-to-optical efficiency of 45.4% (42.6%) with respect to absorbed pump power. With the same output coupling and a crystal length of 40 mm, the Ho:LLF (Ho:YLF) laser yielded 20.5 W (18.1 W) of CW output at a wavelength of 2067.7 nm (2064.3 nm) for 51.5 W (50.0 W) of absorbed pump power with a slope efficiency of 58.4% (55.4%) and an optical-to-optical efficiency of 39.8 (36.1%) with respect to absorbed pump power. The influence of the temperature of the cooling mount on CW laser performance was studied and showed very similar results for both laser materials. At full pump power, a slope of −155 mW/°C (−149 mW/°C) was observed for the Ho:LLF (Ho:YLF) laser with a crystal length of 30 mm. In Q-switched operation, the Ho:LLF (Ho:YLF) laser produced 37 mJ (38.5 mJ) at a repetition rate of 100 Hz with a pulse duration of 38 ns (35 ns) at a wavelength of 2053.1 nm (2050.2 nm) with a slope efficiency of 30.3% (31%) and an optical-to-optical efficiency of 14.2% (13.9%) with respect to absorbed pump power. The beam quality was nearly diffraction limited (M 2<1.1).  相似文献

We describe a compact all-solid-state continuous-wave singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) with a minimal pump-power requirement. The SRO is based on periodically poled LiNbO(3) as the nonlinear material and is pumped by a 1-W diode-pumped Nd:YVO(4) minilaser at 1.064 microm . By exploiting the intracavity pumping technique in a 50-mm crystal, we have achieved SRO operation threshold at a diode pump power of only 310 mW.At 1 W of input diode power, the SRO delivers 70 mW of output power in the nonresonant idler at 3.66 microm , at a photon conversion efficiency of 55%. Multiparameter tuning of the SRO yields a signal wavelength range from 1.45 to 1.60 microm and an idler wavelength range from 3.16 to 4.02 microm in the mid infrared. The device is characterized by robust turnkey operation and long-term amplitude-stable performance.  相似文献

The experimental results of a high-power tunable mid-IR laser are presented. The optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with a 3-mm-thick PPMgCLN crystal was pumped by a 1.064 μm pulse laser. When the pump power of the 1.064 μm laser was 151 W at 10 kHz, and the operating temperature of the PPMgCLN with 5% MgO doping was 100°C, average output power of 23.7 W at 3.91 μm was obtained with a slope efficiency of 18.2% for the idler resonant OPO. The variation of the 3.91 μm output power was about ±4% in 10 min continuous operation. The beam quality factor M 2 was less than 2.6. The average output power of 27.4 W at 3.91 μm was also obtained with 151 W pump power and the slope efficiency of 20.9% for the signal resonant OPO by changing the coating parameters of the OPO cavity mirrors. The mid-IR wavelength tunability of 3.7–4.0 μm can be achieved by adjusting the temperature of a 29 μm period PPMgCLN crystal from 200 to 30°C.  相似文献

An idler-resonant KTiOAsO4 (KTA) optical parametric oscillator is demonstrated within a diode-end-pumped acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. With an X-cut KTA crystal, idler wave at 3467 nm and signal wave at 1535 nm are generated. Under an incident diode pump power of 15.4 W, the idler output power of 105 mW and signal power of 720 mW are obtained at a pulse repetition rate of 40 kHz. The pulse widths of the idler and signal waves are 7.2 and 3.1 ns, respectively. The beam quality factors (M2) of the idler wave are within 1.2 in both horizontal and vertical directions.  相似文献

A 1.8 ??m optical parametric oscillator pumped by a diode end-pumped acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YAG is demonstrated. A 30-mm-long KTiOPO4 crystal cut with an angle of ?? = 59.4°, ?? = 0° is employed as the OPO crystal. 685 mW signal laser at 1.8 ??m is obtained at the diode pump power of 13 W and the pulse repetition rate of 25 kHz. Simultaneously, 265 mW idler emission at 2.6 ??m is obtained. The corresponded diode-to-OPO conversion efficiency is 7.3%. The pulse width of the signal and idler wave are measured to be 4.5 and 2.5 ns, respectively. This gives a peak power of 6.1 and 4.2 kW, respectively.  相似文献

The effect of resonator length on ZnGeP2 doubly resonant optical parametric oscillator was reported in this letter. With the employment of a Tm,Ho:GdVO4 laser as the pump source at 2.05 μm, we have found that there are obvious peaks of the output power when the resonator lengths are matched to the length of the pump source. The ZGP OPO can generate a maximum output power of 4.27 W at 3.80 μm signal and 4.45 μm idler when the resonator length matches that of the pump source.  相似文献

This paper presents a specially designed optical parametric oscillator (OPO) which achieved high-efficiency mid-infrared laser of 2.83 μm. The cascaded nonlinear interactions of OPO and optical parametric amplifier (OPA) were simultaneously realized in a single MgO:PPLN crystal. The signal oscillation of 1.70 μm was used to pump a secondary parametric process that resulted in amplification of the idler laser of 2.83 μm. When the MgO:PPLN crystal with a grating period of 31.2 μm was pumped by a 1.064 μm laser and operated at 148°C, the quasi-phase-matching of both OPO and OPA could be simultaneously achieved. Average output power of 7.68 W at 2.83 μm was obtained for 25 W of pump at 7 kHz. The power conversion efficiency of 2.83 μm laser was 30.7%, which was evidently higher than common OPOs.  相似文献

Electrodeposited Ni–W alloy assisted by high-intensity ultrasound was evaluated considering the nominal power effect on the anticorrosive property. Temperature profiles demonstrated that using a nominal power of 400 W, the electrolytic bath at 30 °C reached values of 39 ± 1 °C. The maximum acoustic power corresponded to 6.7% of the nominal power value at 400 W. Increasing the nominal power from 0 to 400 W; the Ni content decreased from 85.3 to 75.2 wt%, and the W content increased from 15.1 to 25.1 wt%. The deposited coating at 200 W and 300 W had a smooth, homogeneous, and uniform surface. At 400 W, the acoustic cavitation promoted erosion, affecting the coating surface. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the nominal power of 200 W promoted electrodeposition of the Ni17W3 structure with the plane (1 1 1) as a preferred orientation. The crystallite size decreased for the planes (1 1 1) and (2 0 0) when increased nominal power from 100 to 200 W. The optimum condition for the improved corrosion resistance occurred with the nominal power of 200 W, providing a polarization resistance of 23.42 kΩ cm2.  相似文献

We report a narrow pulse width optical parametric oscillator based on periodically poled MgO:LiNbO3 (PPMgLN) with a high repetition rate under quasi-phase matched conditions. When the maximum pumping power of the 1,064-nm laser was 14.57 W, the acousto-optical (A-O) Q-switch repetition rate was 100 kHz, and the PPMgLN crystal grating period was 29.5 μm. A 1,474-nm signal light output power of 4.21 W and a 3,828 nm idler light output power of 1.547 W were obtained, corresponding to a pulse width of 9.52 ns and 9.65 ns, respectively. The overall optical–optical conversion efficiency was 39.5%. Additionally, by changing the temperature from 25°C to 150°C, a tunable signal wavelength of 1,474–1,499 nm and idler wavelength at 3,676–3,828 nm of the output laser were achieved.  相似文献

A watt-level, single-frequency, continuous-wave (cw) singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on MgO:sPPLT is described. Pumped in the green by a frequency-doubled cw diode-pumped Nd:YVO(4) laser at 532 nm, the OPO can provide up to 1.59 W of single-frequency idler output with a linewidth of ~7 MHz at pump depletions of as much as 67%. Using a compact ring resonator and optimized focusing in a 30 mm crystal, a singly resonant oscillation threshold of 2.84 W has been obtained under single-pass pumping. With a single grating period of 7.97 microm, continuous signal and idler coverage over 852-1417 nm is obtained by temperature tuning between 61 degrees C and 236 degrees C. The influence of thermal lensing on idler output power across the SRO tuning range is also verified.  相似文献

Novel Ni–Al2O3 cermet-supported tubular SOFC cell was fabricated by thermal spraying. Flame-sprayed Al2O3–Ni cermet coating played dual roles of a support tube and an anode current collector. Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) electrolyte was deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) to aim at reducing manufacturing cost. The gas tightness of APS YSZ coating was achieved by post-densification process. The influence of YSZ coating thickness on the performance of SOFC test cell was investigated in order to optimize YSZ thickness in terms of open circuit voltage of the cell and YSZ ohmic loss. It was found that the reduction of YSZ thickness from 100 μm to 40 μm led to the increase of the maximum output power density from 0.47 W/cm2 to 0.76 W/cm2 at 1000 °C. Using an APS 4.5YSZ coating of about 40 μm as the electrolyte, the test cell presented a maximum power output density of over 0.88 W/cm2 at 1030 °C. The results indicate that SOFCs with thin YSZ electrolyte require more effective cathode and anode to improve performance.  相似文献
