A kinetic study has been made of the gas phase, I2-catalyzed decomposition of (CH3)2S at 630–650 K. Some I2 is consumed initially, reaching a steady-state concentration. The initial major products are CH4 and CH2S together with small amounts of CH3SCH2I, CH3I, HI, and CS2. The initial reaction corresponds to a pseudo-equilibrium: accompanied by: and which brings (I2) into steady state and a final complex reaction: From the initial rate of I2 loss it is possible to obtain Arrhenius parameters for the iodination: We measure k1, (644 K) = 150 L/mol s and from both the Arrhenius plot and independent estimates A1 (644 K) = 1011.2 ± 0.3 L/mol s. Thus, E1 = 26.7 ± 1 kcal/mol. From the steady-state I2 concentration, an assumed mechanism and the known rate parameters for the CH3I/HI system. It is possible to deduce KA (644) = 3.8 × 10?2 with an uncertainty of a factor of 2. Using an estimated ΔS (644) = 4.2 ± 1.0 e.u. we find ΔHA (644) = 7.0 ± 1.1 kcal. With 〈ΔCPA〉644 = 1.2 this becomes: ΔHA(298) = 6.6 ± 1.1 kcal/mol. Then ΔH (CH3SCH2I) = 6.3 ± 1 kcal/mol. Making the assumption that E?1 = 1.0 ± 0.5 kcal/mol we find ΔH (644) = 25.7 ± 0.7 kcal/mol and with 〈ΔCPI〉 = 1.2; ΔH = 25.3 ± 0.8 kcal/mol. This gives ΔH (CH3S?H2) = 35.6 ± 1.0 kcal/mol and DH (CH3SCH2? H) = 96.6 ± 1.0 kcal/mol. This then yields Eπ(CH2S) = 52 ± 3 kcal. From the observed rate of pressure increase in the system and the preceding data k3, is calculated for the step CH3SCH2 → CH3 + CH2S. From an estimated A-factor E3 is deduced and from the overall thermochemistry values for k?3 and E?3. A detailed mechanism is proposed for the I-atom catalyzed conversion of CH2S to CS2 + CH4.  相似文献

Ab initio molecular orbital calculations have been carried out for 17 possible isomeric [C3H7O]+ structures. Optimized geometries have been obtained with a split-valence basis set and improved relative energies determined with polarization basis sets and with incorporation of electron correlation. The results agree well with available experimental data. In particular, (CH3)2COH+, CH3CH2CHOH+, CH3CHOCH3+, CH3CH2OCH2+, and have been confirmed as low-energy isomers. Six additional structures appear to be energetically accessible and to offer a reasonable prospect for experimental observation. These are CH2CHCH2OH2+, CH2C(CH3)OH2+, CH3CHCHOH2+, CH2CHOHCH3+, and .  相似文献

Liquid secondary ion mass spectra of choline and acetylcholine halides exhibit several series of cluster ions whose origins were investigated using B/E and B2/E linked-scan techniques. In the case of choline halides three series of cluster ions were identified as (Me3$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $CH2CH2OH + nM), (Me3$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $CH2CH2OMe + nM) and (Me3N$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $CH2CH2OH · Me3$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $CH2CH2O? + nM), while (CH3COOCH2CH2$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $Me3 + nM), (Me3$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $CH2CH2OH + nM) and (CH2 = CH$ \mathop {\rm N}\limits^ + $Me3 + nM) were observed in the spectra of acetylcholine halides. For these cluster ions, bimolecular reactions induced on ion bombardment under secondary ion mass spectrometric conditions are discussed.  相似文献

The kinetics of gas-phase reaction of CH3CF2I with HI were studied from 496 to 549K and have been shown to be consistent with the following mechanism: A least squares treatment of the data gave where θ = 2.303 RT kcal/mole. The observed activation energy E1 was combined with E2 = 0 ± 1 kcal/mole to yield The result, combined with data for several C? I bond dissociation energies, leads us to conclude that the C(sp3)? I bond is relatively insensitive to F for H substitution and that the C(sp2)–I bond has considerable double-bond character.  相似文献

The decomposition of neopentane was studied using the very-low-pressure pyrolysis (VLPP) technique at temperatures from 1000 to 1260 K. The derived Arrhenius parameters are consistent with δHf0(t-butyl) = 8.4 kcal/mol. Using the above A factor, data on the decomposition of tetramethyltin yield DH0(Sn(CH3)3 - CH3) = 69 ± 2 kcal/mol.  相似文献

The rate constants for reactions of OH with ClCH2CH2Cl, Cl2CHCHCl2, BrCH2CH2Br, CH3CH2Br have been measured by using a discharge flow-resonance fluorescence (DF-RF) technique over the temperature range 293–418 K. The rate constants as a function of temperature were fitted to the Arrhenius expression as follows: (k's units are 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1, and Ea's units are cal/mol) The experimental data have been compared with theoretical calculations of the semi-empirical BEBO-transition state method. Life-times of the four haloethanes in the troposphere have been estimated.  相似文献

The parabolic model of radical abstraction reactions is used to analyze experimental data on monomolecular hydrogen-atom transfer in the reactionsRC.H(CH2) n CH2R1 RCH2(CH2) n C.HR1(n= 2, 3, 4)RCH(O.)(CH2)2CH2R1 RCH(OH)(CH2)2C.HR1 RCH(OO.)(CH2) n CH2R1 RCH(OOH)(CH2) n C.HR1(n= 1, 2).The activation energies and rate constants that specify each class of these reactions are calculated. Alkyl radical isomerization is characterized by the following activation energies of a thermally neutral reaction depending on the cycle size in the transition state (nis the number of atoms in a cycle): E e , 0(kJ/mol) = 46.6 (n= 6), 59.4 (n= 5), and 57.1 (n= 7). Alkoxy radicals isomerize with E e , 0(kJ/mol) = 53.4 (n= 6), whereas peroxy radicals isomerize with E e , 0(kJ/mol) = 53.2 (n= 6) and E e , 0(kJ/mol) = 54.8 (n= 7). The E e , 0value varies with changes in the cycle size and the strain energy in cycloparaffin C n H2n in the same manner. The activation energies E e , 0for the intra- and intermolecular H-atom abstractions are compared. It is found that E e , 0(isomerization) < E e , 0(R.+ R1H) for alkyl radicals and that E e , 0(isomerization) E e , 0(RO.(RO.) + R1H) for alkoxy and peroxy radicals.  相似文献

The rate of the reaction CH2I2 + HI ? CH3I + I2 has been followed spectrophotometrically from 201.0 to 311.2°. The rate constant for the reaction fits the equation, log (k1/M?1 sec?1) = 11.45 ± 0.18 - (15.11 ± 0.44)/θ. This value, combined with the assumption that E2 = 0 ± 1 kcal/mole, leads to ΔH (CH2I, g) = 55.0 ± 1.6 kcal/mole and DH (H? CH2I) = 103.8 ± 1.6 kcal/mole. The kinetics of the disproportionation, 2 CH3I ? CH4 + CH2I2 were studied at 331° and are compatible with the above values.  相似文献

The reactions of dimethyl ether (CH3OCH3, DME) with O(3P) and H atoms have been studied at high temperatures by using a shock tube apparatus coupled with atomic resonance absorption spectroscopy (ARAS). The rate coefficients for the reactions CH3OCH3 + O(3P) → CH3OCH2 + OH (1) and CH3OCH3 + H → CH3OCH2 + H2 (2) were experimentally determined from the decay of O(3P) and H atoms as: These results show that DME can react with O(3P) atoms more easily than with H atoms. By combining these results with the previous lower temperature data, we obtained the following modified Arrhenius expressions applied over the wide temperature range between 300 and 1500 K: Both reactions of DME are faster than those of ethane, because the dissociation energy of the C? H bond in DME is smaller. Furthermore, the rate coefficients for reactions ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) were calculated with the transition‐state theory (TST). Structural parameters and vibrational frequencies of the reactants and the transition states required for the TST calculation were obtained from the MP2(full)/6‐31G(d) ab initio molecular orbital (MO) calculation. The energy barrier, E?0, was adjusted until the TST rate coefficient most closely matched the observed one. The fitting results of E(1) = 23 kJ mol?1 and E(2) = 34 kJ mol?1 were in agreement with the G2 energy barriers, within the expected uncertainty, demonstrating that the experimentally determined rate coefficients were theoretically valid. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 39: 97–108, 2007  相似文献

2,4-Dimethylhexene-l has been decomposed in single-pulse shock tube experiments. Rate expressions for the initial reactions are and sec?1 at 1.5–5 atm and 1050°K. This leads to ΔH°f300 (CH2 = C(CH3)CH2) = 124 kJ/mol, or an allylic resonance energy of 50 kJ/mol. Rate expressions for the decomposition of the appropriate olefins which yield isobutenyl radicals and methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, n-propyl, t-butyl, and t-amyl radicals, respectively, are presented. The rate expression for the decomposition of isobutenyl radical is (at the beginning of the fall-off region). For the combination of isobutenyl and methyl radicals, the rate constant at 1020°K is Combination of this number and the calculated rate expression for 2-methylbutene-1 decomposition gives S. (1100) = 470 J/mol °K. This yields It is demonstrated that an upper limit for the rate of hydrogen abstraction by isobutenyl from toluene is   相似文献

Numerous experimental data for the cyclization of free radicals C·H2(CH2)nCH=CH2 cyclo-[(CH2)n+1CH(C·H2)], and C·H2(CH2)nCH=CHR cyclo-[(CH2)n+1C·HCHR] were analyzed in the framework of the parabolic model. The activation energy of thermoneutral (H e = 0) cyclization E e0 decreases linearly with an increase in the energy of cycle strain E rsc: E e0(n) (kJ mol–1) = 85.5 – 0.44E rsc(n) (n is the number of atoms in the cycle). The activation entropy of cyclization S # also depends on the cycle size: the larger the cycle, the lower S #. A linear dependence of S # on the difference between the entropies of formation S° of cyclic hydrocarbon and the corresponding paraffin was found: S # = 1.00[S°(cycle) – S°(CnH2n+2)]. The E e0 values coincide for cyclization reactions with the formation of the six-membered cycle and the bimolecular addition of alkyl radicals to olefins.  相似文献

The self-consistent relativistic Thomas–Fermi theory of heavy positive ions with N electrons and nuclear charge Ze is shown to lead to a chemical potential μ which has the scaling property with ? = α2Z2, α being the fine structure constant. Combining this with the Layzer–Bahcall expansion for the total energy E(Z, N), namely, it is proved that the coefficients Enm (N) at large N have the asymptotic behavior Nn–2m/3#1/3. The corresponding result for the scaling of the relativistic Thomas–Fermi energy is Scaling properties of the higher order terms in Enm (N) and E(Z, N) are also proposed.  相似文献

A study of the reaction initiated by the thermal decomposition of di-t-butyl peroxide (DTBP) in the presence of (CH3)2C?CH2 (B) at 391–444 K has yielded kinetic data on a number of reactions involving CH3 (M·), (CH3)2CCH2CH3 (MB·) and (CH3)2?CH2C(CH3)2CH2CH3 (MBB·) radicals. The cross-combination ratio for M· and MB· radicals, rate constants for the addition to B of M· and MB· radicals relative to those for their recombination reactions, and rate constants for the decomposition of DTBP, have been determined. The values are, respectively, where θ = RT ln 10 and the units are dm3/2 mol?1/2 s?1/2 for k2/k and k9/k, s?1 for k0, and kJ mol?1 for E. Various disproportionation-combination ratios involving M·, MB·, and MBB· radicals have been evaluated. The values obtained are: Δ1(M·, MB·) = 0.79 ± 0.35, Δ1(MB·, MB·) = 3.0 ± 1.0, Δ1(MBB·, MB·) = 0.7 ± 0.4, Δ1(M·, MBB·) = 4.1 ± 1.0, Δ1(MB·, MBB·) = 6.2 ± 1.4, and Δ1(MBB·, MBB·) = 3.9 ± 2.3, where Δ1 refers to H-abstraction from the CH3 group adjacent to the center of the second radical, yielding a 1-olefin. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations at the CCSD(T)/6‐311++G(2d,p)//B3LYP/6‐311++G(d,p) level of theory have been carried out for three prototypical rearrangement processes of organosilicon anion systems. The first two are reactions of enolate ions which involve oxygen–silicon bond formation via three‐ and four‐membered states, respectively. The overall reactions are: The ΔG (reaction) values for the two processes are +175 and +51 kJ mol?1, with maximum barriers (to the highest transition state) of +55 and +159 kJ mol?1, respectively. The third studied process is the following: (CH3O)C(?CH2)Si(CH3)2CH → (CH3)2(C2H5)Si? + CH2CO, a process involving an SNi reaction between ‐CH and CH3O‐ followed by silicon–carbon bond cleavage. The reaction is favourable [ΔG(reaction) = ?39 kJ mol?1] with the barrier for the SNi process being 175 kJ mol?1. The previous experimental and the current theoretical data are complementary and in agreement. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The kinetics of the reaction of O + CH3OCH3 were investigated using fast-flow apparatus equipped with ESR and mass-spectrometric detection. The concentration of O(3P) atoms to CH3OCH3 was varied over an unusually large range. The rate constant for reaction was found to be k = (5.0 ± 1.0) × 1012 exp [(?2850 ± 200/RT)] cm3 mole?1 sec?1. The reaction O + CH3OH was studied using ESR detection. Based on an assumed stoichiometry of two oxygen atoms consumed per molecule of CH3OH which reacts, we obtain a value of k = (1.70 ± 0.66) × 1012 exp [(?2,280 ± 200/RT)] cm3 mole?1 sec?1 for the reaction The results obtained in this study are compared with the results from other workers on these reactions. The observation of essentially equal activation energies in these two reactions is indicative of approximately equal C? H bond strengths in CH3OCH3 and CH3OH. This is in agreement with recent measurements of these bond energies.  相似文献

The methylation of tin(II) [Sn(II)] by iodomethane (CH3I) under environmental conditions has been further demonstrated by a 13C carbon isotope tracer method. Methylation products are mainly monomethyltin, and very small amounts of dimethyltin. The reaction of Sn(II) and CH3I was investigated at pH 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and salinity (S) 8, 15, 22, 28, 35%; it has been found the reaction was affected by pH and salinity, the tin methylation activity being highest at about pH 6 and S = 28% . The methylation reaction is first-order for both CH3I and Sn(II), and the rate equation has been obtained as follows: .  相似文献

The gas-phase reaction CH3SH + I2 has been studied spectrophotometrically over the temperature range of 476–604 K. It was found that the reaction undergoes H abstraction by I at ≤575 K, leading to the formation of MeSI and followed by a secondary reaction which leads to the formation of MeSSMe: Taking into consideration the effect of reaction (2), the equilibrium constant K1 (554 K) has been evaluated to be 0.025 ± 0.004. This value was combined with the estimated values S (CH3SI, g) = 73.7 ± 1.0 eu and 〈ΔC〉 = 0.87 ± 0.3 eu to obtain ΔH = 4.03 ± 0.73 kcal/mol. This yields ΔH (CH3SI, g) = 7.16 ± 0.73 kcal/mol when combined with known thermochemical values for CH3SH, HI, and I2. A kinetic study was vitiated by the concurrent heterogeneous reaction of MeSH and I2 at lower temperatures and the rather complicated chemistry occurring at elevated temperatures. However, attempts at measuring rate constants at 554 K lead to a lower limit of ΔH (CH3S·, g) ≥ 29.5 ± 2 kcal/mol when an estimated value of A = 1010.8 ± 0.2 L/mol·s for the reactionc is used. DH (CH3S–I) is estimated to be 49.3 ± 1.7 kcal/mol. The bond strengths of some divalent sulfurs and the reaction mechanisms are discussed. A crude estimate of DH0(H–CH2SH) = 96 ± 1 kcal has been obtained from the kinetic data.  相似文献

Methods are described for the unequivocal identification of the acetyl, [CH3? \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document} ?O] (a), 1-hydroxyvinyl, [CH2?\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}? OH] (b), and oxiranyl, (d), cations. They involve the careful examination of metastable peak intensities and shapes and collision induced processes at very low, high and intermediate collision gas pressures. It will be shown that each [C2H3O]+ ion produces a unique metastable peak for the fragmentation [C2H3O]+ → [CH3]++CO, each appropriately relating to different [C2H3O]+ structures. [CH3? \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}?O] ions do not interconvert with any of the other [C2H3O]+ ions prior to loss of CO, but deuterium and 13C labelling experiments established that [CH2?\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}? OH] (b) rearranges via a 1,2-H shift into energy-rich leading to the loss of positional identity of the carbon atoms in ions (b). Fragmentation of b to [CH3]++CO has a high activation energy, c. 400 kJ mol?1. On the other hand, , generated at its threshold from a suitable precursor molecule, does not rearrange into [CH2?\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}? OH], but undergoes a slow isomerization into [CH3? \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}?O] via [CH2\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}HO]. Interpretation of results rests in part upon recent ab initio calculations. The methods described in this paper permit the identification of reactions that have hitherto lain unsuspected: for example, many of the ionized molecules of type CH3COR examined in this work produce [CH2?\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}? OH] ions in addition to [CH3? \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}?O] showing that some enolization takes place prior to fragmentation. Furthermore, ionized ethanol generates a, b and d ions. We have also applied the methods for identification of daughter ions in systems of current interest. The loss of OH˙ from [CH3COOD] generates only [CH2?\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}? OD]. Elimination of CH3˙ from the enol of acetone radical cation most probably generates only [CH3? \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm C}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}?O] ions, confirming the earlier proposal for non-ergodic behaviour of this system. We stress, however, that until all stable isomeric species (such as [CH3? \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \mathop {\rm O}\limits^{\rm + } $\end{document}?C:]) have been experimentally identified, the hypothesis of incompletely randomized energy should be used with reserve.  相似文献
