The reactions of the biogenic organic compounds isoprene and 2‐methyl‐3‐buten‐2‐ol (MBO) with ozone have been investigated under controlled conditions for pressure (atmospheric pressure) and temperature (293 ± 2 K), using FTIR spectrometry. CO was added to scavenge hydroxyl radical formation during the ozonolysis experiments. Reaction rate constants were determined by absolute rate technique, by measuring both ozone and the organic compound concentrations. The measured values were k1 = (1.19 ± 0.09) × 10?17 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 for the reaction between ozone and isoprene and k2 = (8.3 ± 1.0) × 10?18 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 for the reaction between ozone and MBO. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The rate coefficients of the reactions of CN and NCO radicals with O2 and NO2 at 296 K: (1) CN + O2 → products; (2) CN + NO2 → products; (3) NCO + O2 → products and (4) NCO + NO2 → products have been measured with the laser photolysis-laser induced fluorescence technique. We obtained k1 = (2.1 ± 0.3) × 10?11 and k2 = (7.2 ± 1.0) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?t s?1 which agree well with published results. As no reaction was observed between NCO and O2 at 297 K, an upper limit of k3 < 4 × 10?17 cm3 molecule?1 S?1 was estimated. The reaction of NCO with NO2 has not been investigated previously. We measured k4 = (2.2 ± 0.3) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at 296 K.  相似文献

The kinetics of reactions of HCCl with NO and NO2 were investigated over the temperature ranges 298–572 k and 298–476 k, respectively, using laser‐induced fluorescence spectroscopy to measure total rate constants and time‐resolved infrared diode laser absorption spectroscopy to probe reaction products. Both reactions are fast, with k(HCCl + NO) = (2.75 ± 0.2) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 and k(HCCl + NO2) = (1.10 ± 0.2) × 10?10 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at 296 K. Both rate constants displayed only a slight temperature dependence. Detection of products in the HCCl + NO reaction at 296 K indicates that HCNO + Cl is the major product with a branching ratio of ? = 0.68 ± 0.06, and NCO + HCl is a minor channel with ? = 0.24 ± 0.04. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The kinetics of the bromate oxidation of tris(1,10-phenanthroline)iron(II) (Fe(phen)32+) and aquoiron(II) (Fe2+ (aq)) have been studied in aqueous sulfuric acid solutions at μ = 1.0M and with Fe(II) complexes in great excess. The rate laws for both reactions generally can be described as -d [Fe(II)]/6dt = d[Br?]/dt = k[Fe(II)] [BrO?3] for [H+]0 = 0.428–1.00M. For [BrO?3]0 = 1.00 × 10?4M. [Fe2+]0 = (0.724–1.45)x 10?2 M, and [H+]0 = 1.00M, k = 3.34 ± 0.37 M?1s?1 at 25°. For [BrO?3]0 = (1.00–1.50) × 10?4M, [Fe2+]0 = 7.24 × 10?3M ([phen]0 = 0.0353M), and [H+]0 = 1.00M, k = (4.40 ± 0.16) × 10?2 M?1s?1 at 25°. Kinetic results suggest that the BrO?3-Fe2+ reaction proceeds by an inner-sphere mechanism while the BrO?3-Fe(phen)32+ reaction by a dissociative mechanism. The implication of these results for the bromate-gallic acid and other bromate oscillators is also presented.  相似文献

The gas‐phase reaction of monomethylhydrazine (CH3NH? NH2; MMH) with ozone was investigated in a flow tube at atmospheric pressure and a temperature of 295 ± 2 K using N2/O2 mixtures (3–30 vol% O2) as the carrier gas. Proton transfer reaction–mass spectrometry (PTR‐MS) and long‐path FT‐IR spectroscopy served as the main analytical techniques. The kinetics of the title reaction was investigated with a relative rate technique yielding kMMH+O3 = (4.3 ± 1.0) × 10?15 cm3 molecule?1 s?1. Methyldiazene (CH3N?NH; MeDia) has been identified as the main product in this reaction system as a result of PTR‐MS analysis. The reactivity of MeDia toward ozone was estimated relative to the reaction of MMH with ozone resulting in kMeDia+O3 = (2.7 ± 1.6) × 10?15 cm3 molecule?1 s?1. OH radicals were followed indirectly by phenol formation from the reaction of OH radicals with benzene. Increasing OH radical yields with increasing MMH conversion have been observed pointing to the importance of secondary processes for OH radical generation. Generally, the detected OH radical yields were definitely smaller than thought so far. The results of this study do not support the mechanism of OH radical formation from the reaction of MMH with ozone as proposed in the literature.  相似文献

The ozonolysis of spruce periodate and cuoxam lignins and protolignin in spruce wood has been studied in 45% aqueous acetic acid at room temperature. Stirring affected the rate of reaction and a tentative explanation is given. Degradation followed first-order kinetics characterized by a rate constant K with values of 6.96 × 10?4s?1 for periodate lignin, 5.10 × 10?4s?1 for cuoxam lignin, and 5.09 × 10?4s?1 for protolignin in spruce wood. The similarity of the rate constants shows (1) that periodate and cuoxam lignins are good models for wood lignin and (2) that the carbohydrate matrix has an insignificant effect on the rate of delignification of the protolignin by ozone. The average rate of ozone consumption per C9 unit for periodate lignin was determined as 0.12 mol/min and 0.08 mol/min for cuoxam lignin. The implications of the various results are discussed.  相似文献

The kinetics of the gas-phase reactions of allyl chloride and benzyl chloride with the OH radical and O3 were investigated at 298 ± 2 K and atmospheric pressure. Direct measurements of the rate constants for reactions with ozone yielded values of ??(O3 + allyl chloride) = (1.60 ± 0.18) × 10?18 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 and ??(O3 + benzyl chloride) < 6 × 10?20 cm3 molecule?1 s?1. With the use of a relative rate technique and ethane as a scavenger of chlorine atoms produced in the OH radical reactions, rate constants of ??(OH + allyl chloride) = (1.69 ± 0.07) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 and ??(OH + benzyl chloride) = (2.80 ± 0.19) × 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 were measured. A study of the OH radical reaction with allyl chloride by long pathlength FT-IR absorption spectroscopy indicated that the co-products ClCH2CHO and HCHO account for ca. 44% of the reaction, and along with the other products HOCH2CHO, (ClCH2)2CO, and CH2 ? CHCHO account for 84 ± 16% of the allyl chloride reacting. The data indicate that in one atmosphere of air in the presence of NO the chloroalkoxy radical formed following OH radical addition to the terminal carbon atom of the double bond decomposes to yield HOCH2CHO and the CH2Cl radical, which becomes a significant source of the Cl atoms involved in secondary reactions. A product study of the OH radical reaction with benzyl chloride identified only benzaldehyde and peroxybenzoyl nitrate in low yields (ca. 8% and ?4%, respectively), with the remainder of the products being unidentified.  相似文献

The decay of prompt fluorescence in crystalline naphthalene at 300 K, excited by a picosecond 266 nm pulse, has been studied as a function of excitation intensity. Experimental decay curves can be fitted only when the exponential distribution in depth of excitation and the radial (gaussian) intensity profile of the excitation are both taken into account. From an analysis of the decay at early time (?5 ns) a best fit value of the singlet—singlet annihilation rate constant is found γSS = (4 ± 1) × 10?10 cm3 s?1. If the reaction is diffusion-limited, this rate implies an average singlet diffusivity DS = (2 ± 1) × 10?4 cm2 s?1.  相似文献

The mass transport and charge transfer kinetics of ozone reduction at Nafion coated Au electrodes were studied in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 and highly resistive solutions such as distilled water and tap water. The diffusion coefficient and partition coefficient of ozone in Nafion coating are 1.78×10-6 cm2·s-1 and 2.75 at 25℃ (based on dry state thickness), respectively. The heterogeneous rate constants and Tafel slopes for ozone reduction at bare Au are 4.1×10-6 cm·s-1, 1.0×10-6 cm·s-1 and 181 mV, 207 mV in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 and distilled water respectively and the corresponding values for Nafion coated Au are 5.5×10-6 cm·s-1, 1.1×10-6 cm·s-1 and 182 mV, 168 mV respectively. The Au microelectrode with 3 μm Nafion coating shows good linearity over the range 0-10 mmol/L ozone in distilled water with sensitivity 61 μA·ppm-1 ·cm-2, detection limit 10 ppb and 95% response time below 5 s at 25℃. The temperature coefficient in range of 11-30℃ is 1.3%.  相似文献

The decomposition of meta-phenylphenol (m-PP) and para-phenylphenol (p-PP) in a heterogeneous gas-liquid system using ozone was investigated. The influence of different reaction parameters such as ozone and PP isomers concentration as well as pH and temperature of the reaction mixture on the PP decay rate was determined. The second-order rate constants for the direct reaction of molecular ozone, determined in a homogeneous system, were (5.85 ± 0.35) × 102 M?1 s?1 and (8.90 ± 0.33) × 102 M?1 s?1 for m-PP and p-PP, respectively. The rate constants for the reaction of m-PP and p-PP with ozone increased with increasing pH. The reaction rate constants with ozone were found to be (1.75 ± 0.02) × 109 M?1 s?1 and (1.86 ± 0.02) × 109 M?1 s?1 for m-PP and p-PP anions, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, a real‐time laboratory study of the heterogeneous oxidation reaction of gas‐phase ozone with anthracene on surface substrates by using infrared spectroscopy in two distinctly different experimental configurations is reported. One set of kinetic measurements was made by attenuated total internal reflection infrared (ATR‐IR) spectroscopy using approximately 75‐nm films of anthracene adsorbed on ZnSe, for which the reactive uptake coefficient was determined to be (2.0 ± 1.1) × 10?7. Using an aerosol flow tube coupled to an infrared spectrometer (AFT‐IR), similar measurements were made on (NH4)2SO4 (ammonium sulfate) aerosols coated with a 0.1‐μm film of anthracene. The aerosol kinetic results as a function of the ozone concentration are consistent with a Langmuir–Hinshelwood‐type mechanism, for which the ozone‐partitioning coefficient was K = (1.4 ± 1.7) × 10?16 cm3 molecule?1, and the maximum pseudo‐first‐order rate coefficient was kImax = (0.035 ± 0.016) s?1. Infrared spectroscopic and mass spectrometric analysis of the ozonolysis reaction in the bulk phase identified the main ozonolysis products as dihydroxyanthrones, 9,10‐endoperoxide–anthracene, 9,10‐anthraquinone, and anthrone. Larger products were also seen in the mass spectra, most likely the result of secondary product and oligomer formation. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 43: 694–707, 2011  相似文献

Novel films consisting of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were fabricated by means of chemical vapor deposition with decomposition of either acetonitrile (ACN) or benzene (BZ) using ferrocene as catalyst. The electrochemical responses of MWCNT-based films towards the ferrocyanide/ferricyanide, [Fe(CN)6]3?/4? redox couple were probed by means of cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy at 25.0?±?0.5?°C. Both MWCNT-based films exhibit Nernstian response towards [Fe(CN)6]3?/4? with some slight kinetic differences. Namely, heterogeneous electron transfer rate constants lying in ranges of 2.69?×?10?2?C1.7?×?10?3 and 9.0?×?10?3?C2.6?×?10?3?cm·s?1 were obtained at v?=?0.05?V·s?1 for MWCNTACN and MWCNTBZ, respectively. The detection limit of MWCNTACN, estimated to be about 4.70?×?10?7?mol·L?1 at v?=?0.05?V·s?1, tends to become slightly poorer with the increase of the scan rate, namely at v?=?0.10?V·s?1 the detection limit of 1.70?×?10?6?mol·L?1 was determined. Slightly poorer response ability was exhibited by MWCNTBZ; specifically the detection limits of 1.57?×?10?6 and 4.35?×?10?6?mol·L?1 were determined at v?=?0.05 and v?=?0.10?V·s?1, respectively. The sensitivities of MWCNTACN and MWCNTBZ towards [Fe(CN)6]3?/4? were determined as 1.60?×?10?7 and 1.51?×?10?7?A·L·mol?1·cm?2, respectively. The excellent electrochemical performance of MWCNTACN is attributed to the presence of incorporated nitrogen in the nanotube??s structure.  相似文献

Homogeneous oxidation of hydrogen selenide with ozone present in deficiency was studied. One of the reaction products is elemental selenium Se8, which can be formed by multistep radical-chain polycondensation of hydrogen selenide. One mole of ozone is consumed per mole of hydrogen selenide. The observed rate constant of the reaction of hydrogen selenide with ozone at 20 ± 1°C is no less than (1.9 ± 0.2) × 105 l mol?1 s?1.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanism of the following reactions have been studied in the temperature range 230–360 K and at total pressure of 1 Torr of helium, using the discharge‐flow mass spectrometric method: 1a : (1a) 1b : (1b) The following Arrhenius expression for the total rate constant was obtained from the kinetics of OH consumption in excess of ClO radical, produced in the Cl + O3 reaction either in excess of Cl atoms or ozone: k1 = (6.7 ± 1.8) × 10?12 exp {(360 ± 90)/T} cm3 molecule?1 s?1 (with k1 = (2.2 ± 0.4) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at T = 298 K), where uncertainties represent 95% confidence limits and include estimated systematic errors. The value of k1 is compared with those from previous studies and current recommendations. HCl was detected as a minor product of reaction (1) and the rate constant for the channel forming HCl (reaction (1b)) has been determined from the kinetics of HCl formation at T = 230–320 K: k1b = (9.7 ± 4.1) × 10?14 exp{(600 ± 120)/T} cm3 molecule?1 s?1 (with k1b = (7.3 ± 2.2) × 10?13 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 and k1b/k1 = 0.035 ± 0.010 at T = 298 K), where uncertainties represent 95% confidence limits. In addition, the measured kinetic data were used to derive the enthalpy of formation of HO2 radicals: Δ Hf,298(HO2) = 3.0 ± 0.4 kcal mol?1. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The kinetics of oxidation of tartaric acid (TAR) by peroxomonosulfate (PMS) in the presence of Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions was studied in the pH range 4.05–5.20 and also in alkaline medium (pH ~12.7). The rate was calculated by measuring the [PMS] at various time intervals. The metal ions concentration range used in the kinetic studies was 2.50 × 10?5 to 1.00 × 10?4 M [Cu(II)], 2.50 × 10?4 to 2.00 × 10?3M [Ni(II)], 0.05 to 0.10 M [TAR], and µ = 0.15 M. The metal(II) tartarates, not TAR/tartarate, are oxidized by PMS. The oxidation of copper(II) tartarate at the acidic pH shows an appreciable induction period, usually 30–60 min, as in classical autocatalysis reaction. The induction period in nickel(II) tartarate is small. Analysis of the [PMS]–time profile shows that the reactions proceed through autocatalysis. In alkaline medium, the Cu(II) tartarate–PMS reaction involves autocatalysis whereas Ni(II) tartarate obeys simple first‐order kinetics with respect to [PMS]. The calculated rate constants for the initial oxidation (k1) and catalyzed oxidation (k2) at [TAR] = 0.05 M, pH 4.05, and 31°C are Cu(II) (1.00 × 10?4 M): k1 = 4.12 × 10?6 s?1, k2 = 7.76 × 10?1 M?1s?1 and Ni(II) (1.00 × 10?3 M): k1 = 5.80 × 10?5 s?1, k2 = 8.11 × 10?2 M?1 s?1. The results suggest that the initial reaction is the oxidative decarboxylation of the tartarate to an aldehyde. The aldehyde intermediate may react with the alpha hydroxyl group of the tartarate to give a hemi acetal, which may be responsible for the autocatalysis. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Diphenyl(diphenylethynyl)silane ((ph–C≡C)2–Si–ph2) (DPDPES) was synthesized by the Grignard reaction. The corresponding isothermal and non-isothermal cure kinetics of DPDPES were analyzed by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and the molecular structure was characterized by H-NMR. The results showed that all the cure curves were typically sigmoid shape and cure reactions could be described by an autocatalytic kinetic model by isothermal DSC. The kinetic data, for example, activation energy (E) and frequency factor (A), were 119.22 kJ/mol and 4.67 × 107 (s?1), respectively. The non-isothermal DSC analyses showed that E and A were 162.12 kJ/mol and 1.32 × 109 (s?1), respectively, and the reaction order was 0.94. Based on the research work of this paper, it can be said that the cure reaction of DPDPES monomer was of autocatalytic and diffusion-controlled characteristics, and the effect of the diffusion was more evident at low temperature. The cure reaction of DPDPES was a first-order kinetic reaction.  相似文献

Preliminary measurements of the triplet diffusivity tensor in crystalline pyrene at 300 K are reported. Maximum diffusivity occurs along the b axis and Dab = (1.25 ± 0.3) × 10?4 cm2 s?1. Diffusion in the ac′ plane is nearly isotropic with D ≈ (0.3 ± 0.1) × 10?4 cm2 s?1. These results are tentatively interpreted as diffusion dominated by nonlocal scattering.  相似文献

The kinetics and stoichiometry of the reaction between C70 fullerene and ozone have been studied. The reaction obeys a bimolecular rate law. The stoichiometric coefficients of the reaction are 1: 12 to 1: 22, depending on reaction conditions. The rate constant at 22°C is 5 × 104 l mol?1 s?1 for the first stage of fullerene conversion and (0.8–0.6) × 104 l mol?1 s?1 for the subsequent stages. Since the stages differ in terms of reaction rate, the original C70 molecules are first involved in the reaction, whereas, at the subsequent stages, all molecules are involved with equal probabilities, irrespective of the number of preceding reaction events in which they have participated.  相似文献

The electrocatalytic oxidation of sulfite has been studied on the cobalt pentacyanonitrosylferrate modified glassy carbon electrode (CoPCNF). The CoPCNF films on the glassy carbon electrodes show an excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of sulfite in 0.5 M KNO3. The kinetics of the catalytic reaction was investigated by using cyclic voltammetry, rotating disk electrode (RDE) voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The average value of the rate constant, K, for the catalytic reaction and the diffusion coefficient, D, were evaluated by different approaches for sulfite and found to be 2.9×102 M?1s?1 and 4.6×10?6 cm2s?1, respectively. At a fixed potential under hydrodynamic conditions (stirred solutions), the oxidation current is proportional to the sulfite concentration and the calibration plot was linear over the concentration range 5×10?6–1×10?4 M. The detection limit of the method is 3×10?6 M., low enough for the trace sulfite determination.  相似文献

Gas-phase reactions typical of the Earth’s atmosphere have been studied for a number of partially fluorinated alcohols (PFAs). The rate constants of the reactions of CF3CH2OH, CH2FCH2OH, and CHF2CH2OH with fluorine atoms have been determined by the relative measurement method. The rate constant for CF3CH2OH has been measured in the temperature range 258–358 K (k = (3.4 ± 2.0) × 1013exp(?E/RT) cm3 mol?1 s?1, where E = ?(1.5 ± 1.3) kJ/mol). The rate constants for CH2FCH2OH and CHF2CH2OH have been determined at room temperature to be (8.3 ± 2.9) × 1013 (T = 295 K) and (6.4 ± 0.6) × 1013 (T = 296 K) cm3 mol?1 s?1, respectively. The rate constants of the reactions between dioxygen and primary radicals resulting from PFA + F reactions have been determined by the relative measurement method. The reaction between O2 and the radicals of the general formula C2H2F3O (CF3CH2? and CF3?HOH) have been investigated in the temperature range 258–358 K to obtain k = (3.8 ± 2.0) × 108exp(?E/RT) cm3 mol?1 s?1, where E = ?(10.2 ± 1.5) kJ/mol. For the reaction between O2 and the radicals of the general formula C2H4FO (? HFCH2O, CH2F?HOH, and CH2FCH2?) at T = 258–358 K, k = (1.3 ± 0.6) × 1011exp(?E/RT) cm3 mol?1 s?1, where E = ?(5.3 ± 1.4) kJ/mol. The rate constant of the reaction between O2 and the radicals with the general formula C2H3F2O (?F2CH2O, CHF2?HOH, and CHF2CH2?) at T = 300 K is k = 1.32 × 1011 cm3 mol?1 s?1. For the reaction between NO and the primary radicals with the general formula C2H2F3O (CF3CH2? and CF3?HOH), which result from the reaction CF3CH2OH + F, the rate constant at 298 K is k = 9.7 × 109 cm3 mol?1 s?1. The experiments were carried out in a flow reactor, and the reaction mixture was analyzed mass-spectrometrically. A mechanism based on the results of our studies and on the literature data has been suggested for the atmospheric degradation of PFAs.  相似文献
