In this paper, the controllability of second-order differential and integro-differential inclusions in Banach spaces are investigated. Two new results are obtained by using the theory of strongly continuous cosine families and a fixed point theorem for multivalued maps. Communicated by F. Ordinal optimization is a tool to reduce the computational burden in simulation-based optimization problems. So far, the major effort in this field focuses on single-objective optimization. In this paper, we extend this to multiobjective optimization and develop vector ordinal optimization, which is different from the one introduced in Ref. 1. Alignment probability and ordered performance curve (OPC) are redefined for multiobjective optimization. Our results lead to quantifiable subset selection sizes in the multiobjective case, which supplies guidance in solving practical problems, as demonstrated by the examples in this paper.This paper was supported in part by Army Contract DAAD19-01-1-0610, AFOSR Contract F49620-01-1-0288, and a contract with United Technology Research Center (UTRC). In this paper, we study a class of general monotone equilibrium problems in a real Hilbert space which involves a monotone differentiable bifunction. For such a bifunction, a skew-symmetric type property with respect to the partial gradients is established. We suggest to solve this class of equilibrium problems with the modified combined relaxation method involving an auxiliary procedure. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the auxiliary variational inequality in the auxiliary procedure. Further, we prove also the weak convergence of the modified combined relaxation method by virtue of the monotonicity and the skew-symmetric type property.Communicated by F. In this paper, autocovariance nonstationary time series is clearly defined on a family of time series. We propose three types of TVPAR (time-varying parameter auto-regressive) models: the full order TVPAR model, the time-unvarying order TVPAR model and the time-varying order TVPAR model for autocovariance nonstationary time series. Related minimum AIC (Akaike information criterion) estimations are carried out. This paper introduces an iterative method for finding approximate solutions of a set-valued mixed quasivariational inequality in the setting of a Banach space. Using variational method, the authors get an existence result for positive solutions of a superlinear elliptic boundary value problem without assuming the P.S. condition. To prove the results in this paper, the authors adopt the method of gradient flow and use a new class of truncation functions. In this paper, we consider a generalized system in the framework of the formulation proposed by Blum and Oettli. The concepts of feasibility and strict feasibility are introduced for a generalized system and a feasibility-solvability theorem is obtained. Abstract   In this paper, we study the high-order upwind finite difference method for steady convection-diffusion problems. Based on the conservative convection-diffusion equation, a high-order upwind finite difference scheme on nonuniform rectangular partition for convection-diffusion equation is proposed. The proposed scheme is in conversation form, satisfies maximum value principle and has second-order error estimates in discrete H 1 norm. In this paper, the global error bound estimation for the generalized linear complementarity problem over a polyhedral cone (GLCP) is considered. To obtain a global error bound for the GLCP, we first develop some equivalent reformulations of the problem under milder conditions and then characterize the solution set of the GLCP. Based on this, an easily computable global error bound for the GLCP is established. The results obtained in this paper can be taken as an extension of the existing global error bound for the classical linear complementarity problems. This paper is concerned with the travelling wave fronts of nonlocal reaction-diffusion systems with delays. The existence of travelling wave fronts for nonlocal reaction-diffusion systems with delays is established by using Schauder’s fixed point theorem and upper-lower solution technique. Then these results are applied to the nonlocal delayed Logistic model and the delayed Belousov-Zhabotinskii reaction-diffusion system. Our results show that the time delay can reduce the minimal wave speed while the nonlocality can increase the minimal wave speed. The paper deals with the existence of periodic solutions for a kind of non-autonomous time-delay Rayleigh equation. With the continuation theorem of the coincidence degree and a priori estimates, some new results on the existence of periodic solutions for this kind of Rayleigh equation are established. The aim of this paper is to study the spectral gap and the logarithmic Sobolev constant for continuous spin systems. A simple but general result for estimating the spectral gap'of finite dimensional systems is given by Theorem 1.1, in terms of the spectral gap for one-dimensional marginals. The study of this topic provides us a chance, and it is indeed another aim of the paper, to justify the power of the results obtained previously. The exact order in dimension one (Proposition 1.4), and then the precise leading order and the explicit positive regions of the spectral gap and the logarithmic Sobolev constant for two typical infinite-dimensional models are presented (Theorems 6.2 and 6.3). Since we are interested in explicit estimates, the computations become quite involved. A long section (Section 4) is devoted to the study of the spectral gap in dimension one.  相似文献

The auxiliary principle technique is extended to study the generalized strongly nonlinear mixed variational-like inequality problem for set-valued mappings without compact values. We establish first the existence of a solution of the related auxiliary problem. Then, the iterative algorithm for solving that problem is given by using this existence result.
