This study describes the preparation of poly(?-caprolactone) (PCL)/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites by ultrasonically mixing the PCL and as-fabricated MWCNT in a tetrahydrofuran solution. The TEM images show that the MWCNT is well separated and uniformly distributed in the PCL matrix. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and polarized optical microscopy (POM) were used to investigate the isothermal crystallization kinetics, crystalline structure and thermal behavior of PCL and PCL/MWCNT nanocomposites. DSC isothermal results revealed that the activation energy of PCL extensively decreases with increasing MWCNT contents, suggesting that the loading of MWCNT into PCL matrix probably induced heterogeneous nucleation during crystallization processes. From TGA data, the addition of small amount of MWCNT into PCL matrix can improve the thermal stability of PCL matrix. TGA isothermal degradation data illustrate that the activation energy Ed of the composites is smaller than that of PCL. This phenomenon can be attributed to the incorporation of more MWCNT loading into PCL caused a decrease in the degradation rate and an increase in the residual weight for PCL/MWCNT nanocomposites.  相似文献

Cadmium sulfide nano particles, both hollow spheres (CdS‐HS) and rods (CdS‐NR), were synthesized by ultrasonic and solvothermal processes, respectively, and characterized by XRD and SEM. The effect of the two kinds of nano particles on flammability was investigated using the cone calorimeter and microscale combustion calorimeter. The incorporation of small amount of CdS nano particles (1 wt.%, 3 wt.%, 5 wt.%) leads to a reduction in the peak heat release rate (PHRR) compared to pristine PS; CdS‐NR is more efficient in reducing the PHRR. CdS nano particles are less effective in reducing the PHRR of PMMA. Thermal stability of PS/CdS and PMMA/CdS nanocomposites was studied by TGA. The TGA results show that the addition of the nano particles mainly increases thermal stability of PS and PMMA at high temperatures. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article proposes a new electrochemical sensor for Escherichia coli (E. Coli) composed of poly(o-phenylenediamine) (PoPD) and CdS/FeS nanocomposites (PoPD|CdS/FeS). The preparation of the modified electrodes used for this purpose and their subsequent use as a sensor comprise a simple, fast and reproducible technique. The characterization of the CdS/FeS nanocomposites and their subsequent inclusion on PoPD was performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and computational methods; For the nanocomposites an average size of 100 nm was obtained after applying a reduction potential for 5 s over the polymeric matrix. The electrochemical characterizations confirmed that the inclusion of the nanocomposites improved the amperometric response, allowing the developed material to be used as an electrochemical sensor for E. Coli. The figures obtained gave the linear equation j = -6.89 × 10−14 × CFU + 5.64 × 10−5, with an R2 of 0.995, for 10 replicates. Furthermore, the limit of detection (LOD) was 6.1 × 105 CFU/mL, and the limit of quantification (LOQ) was 6.1 × 106 CFU/mL.  相似文献

In this study, a novel nanocomposite based on polyaniline/polyvinyl alcohol/Ag (PANI/PVA/Ag) has been successfully synthesized. The chemical reduction method was used to produce Ag nanoparticle colloidal solution from Ag+ ions. The polymerization of aniline occurred in situ for the preparation of polyaniline (PANI) in the presence of ammonium persulfate. With exposure to Ag nanoparticles on the PANI/PVA composite, a new nanocomposite was obtained. The morphology and particle size of the novel nanocomposite was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analyses. According to XRD analysis, the size of nanoparticles was found to be in the range of 10–17 nm. SEM images showed the favored shape of nanoparticles as triangle which is a benign shape for antibacterial analysis. The antibacterial activity of the obtained nanocomposite was also evaluated against Gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus (Staph. aureus) and Gram negative Escherichia coli (E. coli) using the paper disk diffusion method. The antibacterial study showed that the PANI/PVA composite did not have a very good antibacterial activity but PANI/PVA/Ag nanocomposites were found to be effective against two bacteria.  相似文献

Ternary Ag/Polyaniline/Au nanocomposites were synthesized successfully by immobilizing of Au nanoparticles (NPs) on the surface of Ag/Polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites. Ag/PANI nanocomposites were prepared via in situ chemical polymerization of aniline in the presence of 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP) capped silver colloidal NPs. Then, uniform gold (Au) NPs were assembled on the surface of resulted Ag/PANI nanocomposites through electrostatic interaction to get Ag/Polyaniline/Au nanocomposites. The nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Moreover, Ag/PANI/Au nanocomposites were immobilized on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode and showed enhanced electrocatalytic activity for the reduction of H2O2 compared with Ag/PANI.  相似文献

Polyaniline(PANI)/Tin oxide (SnO2) hybrid nanocomposite with a diameter 20–30 nm was prepared by co-precipitation process of SnO2 through in situ chemical polymerization of aniline using ammonium persulphate as an oxidizing agent. The resulting nanocomposite material was characterized by different techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Ultraviolet–Visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis), which offered the information about the chemical structure of polymer, whereas electron microscopy images provided information regarding the morphology of the nanocomposite materials and the distribution of the metal particles in the nanocomposite material. SEM observation showed that the prepared SnO2 nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed and highly stabilized throughout the macromolecular chain that formed a uniform metal-polymer nanocomposite material. UV–Vis absorption spectra of PANI/SnO2 nanocomposites were studied to explore the optical behavior after doping of nanoparticles into PANI matrix. The incorporation of SnO2 nanoparticles gives rise to the red shift of π–π1 transition of polyaniline. Thermal stability of PANI and PANI/SnO2 nanocomposite was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). PANI/SnO2 nanocomposite observed maximum conductivity (6.4 × 10?3 scm?1) was found 9 wt% loading of PANI in SnO2.  相似文献

The fabrication of nanocomposites by covalent inclusion of inorganic nanoparticles in an organic polymer matrix is highly topical and may find applications in the electronics, optics and energy sectors. Incorporation of CdS nanoparticles into the polyacrylonitrile (PAN) matrices could be expected to display improved or enhanced optoelectronic and optical properties. Using a newly synthesized RAFT agent, i.e., CdS-DDAT nanoparticles (DDAT: S-1-Dodecyl-S′-(α, α′-dimethyl-α′′-acetic acid) trithiocarbonate), CdS covalently functionalized polyacrylonitrile (CdS-PAN) nanocomposite material was prepared in the presence of small amount of AIBN under ultrasonic radiation. This material, which exhibits an induced positive nonlinear absorption of incident light, has been well-characterized by a variety of physical techniques such as GPC, UV/vis, FT-IR, TGA, XRD and Z-scan.  相似文献

Cerium dioxide/polyaniline core-shell nanocomposites   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
The preparation of CeO2/polyaniline (CeO2/PANI) core-shell nanocomposites via chemical oxidation of aniline using CeO2 as an oxidant is reported. TEM, TGA, FT-IR, XPS, and conductivity measurement are used to characterize the resulting composites. TEM measurements reveal that the shape of PANI/CeO2 nanocomposites is different from CeO2 nanoparticles and fibular PANI oxidized with soluble oxidant. Electron diffraction (ED) patterns of CeO2/PANI nanocomposites reveal single crystal of CeO2. FT-IR spectra confirmed the formation of PANI; the amount of PANI in the nanocomposites is estimated by TGA results. The conductivities increase with the increasing ratio of PANI/CeO2. XPS results reveal that in the nanocomposites Ce4+ of CeO2 is reduced to Ce3+. In addition, the degree of protonation of polyaniline obtained from N 1s XPS results in cerium dioxide/polyaniline composites is about 48.52%.  相似文献

Poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexaflouro propylene) is a well-known material for polymer electrolyte membranes (PEMs) due to its low cost, high mechanical integrity and excellent chemical resistance; however, its pure form has limited characteristics that require further modification to achieve optimum results. Therefore, the different dosages of polyaniline (PANI) (10 wt%, 20 wt%, 30 wt%, 40 wt% and 50 wt%) were incorporated into PVDF-HFP blend to fabricate PVDF-HFP/PANI polymer electrolyte membrane by using breath-figure method. The FTIR peaks of PVDF-HFP and PVDF-HFP/PANI membrane confirms the successful incorporation of PANI into PVDF-HFP blend, while TGA, DSC and XRD analysis shows the PANI effect on stability and ionic conductivity of PVDF-HFP membrane. The PVDF-HFP/PANI membrane with 30 wt% PANI found superior with the highest porosity of 83%, electrolyte uptake of 270% and ionic conductivity of 1.96 mS cm−1; however, the other concentrations of PANI were also effective and enhanced the performance of PVDF-HFP membrane. This shows the improved performances of PVDF-HFP membrane were attributed to successful incorporation of PANI and the proposed membrane can be a suitable alternative PEM or a separator for energy devices.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is studying the effect of incorporation of Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) into two different nanocomposites in poly vinyl alcohol (PVA)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and PVA/Polyethylene glycol (PEG). MWCNT were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method using acetylene and Fe/Co/Al2O3 as carbon precursor and catalyst, respectively. Nitric acid and sulfuric acid were used for purification and functionalization of MWCNT. Afterward, highly pure and functionalized MWCNT (0, 0.02, and 0.05% w/w) were incorporated in PVA/PVP and PVA/PEG to synthesize PVA/PVP/MWCNT and PVA/PEG/MWCNT nanocomposites hydrogel membranes that cross-linked by freezing–thawing. PEG and PVP were selected in these nanocomposites as dispersion matrix for MWCNT as well as for increasing the elasticity of the nanocomposites membranes. The morphology of the hydrogels was characterized by SEM, FTIR, XRD, TGA, and the mechanical properties of the hydrogel membranes were investigated. The swelling behavior in different pH-buffer solutions was studied as well as studying weight loss percentage and swelling kinetic. The drug releasing process of the hydrogel membranes was investigated using salicylic acid as a model drug. It was found that MWCNT are dispersed well into the polymers and crystallinity, mechanical properties and thermal stability of the hydrogels contain MWCNT are better than that without MWCNT. Maximum degree of swelling was observed at pH 7 and swelling degree increases with increasing the ratio of MWCNT in the hydrogels from 0.02 to 0.05%. All hydrogel membranes followed non-Fickian mechanism and drug releasing were controlled by varying the pH and amount of MWCNT.  相似文献

Isothermal crystallization of two nanocomposites composed of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and graphene dispersed in a hot melt adhesive polyurethane (PUR) is investigated. Rheological percolation is reached for PUR/MWCNT, but not for PUR/Graphene nanocomposites. Analysis of the elastic modulus versus time indicates that the crystallization process is more hastened by MWCNTs than by graphene, favouring the welding process of the corresponding adhesives. Correlative AFM images show that the crystal size follows the order: Crystals in neat PUR > Crystals in PUR/Graphene > Crystals in PUR/MWCNT. The nucleation density is higher in the case of MWCNTs due to the poorer dispersion of graphene in the PUR matrix. Analysis of DSC results by the Avrami equation and the fitting of G′-time results to a rheological equation adapted from the Avrami equation, show that the parameter n decreases from n = 3 for neat PUR to n = 2 for both nanocomposites. The coherence between the value n = 2 and AFM images is demonstrated: The lamellae organization in two dimensional growth, that brings about nucleated axialites, as expected for n = 2, is confirmed by AFM microscopy.  相似文献

Polystyrene/graphene nanoplatelets (PS/GNP) and polystyrene/multi-walled carbon nanotube (PS/MWCNT) nanocomposites were prepared through solution mixing processing. The effect of carbon filler (CF) (GNP or MWCNT) doping on the DC/AC electrical conductivity, dielectric characteristics and optical parameters (absorption coefficient, α and band gap energy, Eg) of nanocomposites were investigated and compared for similar doping concentrations. The observed behavior of the DC surface conductivity for PS/CF nanocomposites was explained according to the classical percolation theory, where the percolation thresholds (ϕc) for PS/GNP and PS/MWCNT nanocomposites were determined as 12.0 vol% and 3.81 vol% and the critical exponents (t) were calculated as 2.19 and 2.13, respectively. These results indicate that CFs create three dimensional CF network in PS matrix. The dielectric relaxation properties and the AC conductivity studied by means of Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy (BDS) measurements, showed that the presence of carbon fillers significantly enhanced the capacitive/charge storage capabilities of the nanocomposites. The optical band gap energies (Eg) of PS/GNP and PS/MWCNT nanocomposites were obtained by using Tauc method. From applicative point of view, with their enhanced dielectric and AC conductivity properties of the PS/GNP and PS/MWCNT nanocomposites have the potential to be used in energy storage and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications.  相似文献

The polyaniline/zinc oxide (PANI/ZnO) nanocomposites were prepared by in situ polymerization of aniline monomer with ZnO nanomaterials and applied as a photocatalyst for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye. The morphological observations elicited the agglomerations of PANI sheets which occurred due to the interaction between PANI and ZnO nanomaterials in PANI/ZnO nanocomposites. As compared to pristine PANI, the UV–vis spectra exhibited that the absorption peak of ππ* transitions considerably shifted to higher wavelength at 360 nm from 325 nm in the nanocomposites. The photocatalytic activity results indicated the substantial degradation of MB dye by ~76% over the surface of PANI/ZnO nanocomposite catalyst under light illumination. The PANI/ZnO nanocomposites showed three times higher photocatalytic activity to MB dye degradation compared to pristine PANI might due to high photogenerated electron (ē)–hole (h+) pairs charge separation.  相似文献

The voltammetric (CV and DPV) behavior of multi-walled carbon nanotube/Nafion composite coupled with a glassy carbon electrode was investigated for the determination of 2,4-dichlorophenol. The structural and morphological evaluation by XRD and FESEM revealed that the acid treated MWCNT retained their morphology without any structural change. The existence of the possible functional groups was investigated by FTIR and Raman spectroscopy. Compared to bare GCE, a significantly reduced interfacial charge transfer resistance was noticed for MWCNT/Nafion/GCE by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The use of Nafion not only contributed to the non-covalent functionalization of MWCNT, but also protected the electrode surface against the polymerization of phenoxy radicals forming a passivating film. For MWCNT/Nafion/GCE, the combination of anti-passivating ability and excellent catalytic properties resulted in the rapid and direct electrochemical determination of 2,4-DCP. Under optimal experimental conditions, the DPV responses for MWCNT/Nafion/GCE is linear over the 1–150 μmol/L range with a detection limit (S/N = 3) of 0.01 μmol/L. The presence of many interfering species had no influence on the signals of 2,4-DCP. The proposed sensor was successfully tested for the determination of 2,4-DCP in tap water samples and the recovery was in the range of 99.0–102.5%.  相似文献

Polylactide nanocomposites with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (PLA/MWCNT) in the form of porous foams made of a biocompatible, biodegradable and environmentally friendly polymer with a small amount of carbon nanotubes, were investigated in this work. Additionally, PLA/MWCNT porous nanocomposites were coated with MWCNTs using the electrophoretic deposition method (EPD). All samples were characterized by a porosity of about 90%, showing pore sizes in the range of 100 to 200 μm, for PLA/MWCNT foam, however, EPD deposition resulted in an decrease in the number of smaller pores in PLA/MWCNT + MWCNT (EPD) foam. The porous polymer (PLA) matrix, shows almost twofold increase in crystallinity while depth penetrating the volume of the sample. The crystallinity, of the PLA/MWCNT foam, at first is growing then it gradually lowers, while for the PLA/MWCNT + MWCNT(EPD) foam almost does not change. This behavior points toward significant distinction between surface and interior of the samples. A detailed analysis of Raman spectra indicates related carbon structures occurring in the nanomaterial foams: graphene and graphite phases, CNT and also carbon amorphous phases. The characteristics of a single-shell vibration are visible by the character of the G-band. The estimated crystallite size in PLA/MWCNT + MWCNT(EPD) is about 3 times smaller than that in the PLA/MWCNT.  相似文献

Polyaniline (PANI)-montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were prepared by direct intercalation of aniline molecules into MMT galleries, followed by in situ mechanochemical polymerization under solvent free conditions. X-rays diffraction, Fourier Transform Infra Red analyses and UV-vis spectroscopy confirmed the successful synthesis of polyaniline chains between the MMT nano-interlayers. On increasing the amount of MMT basal spacing decreased gradually, suggesting less intercalation with decreasing amount of aniline. Scanning electron micrographs demonstrated strong differences between the morphologies of PANI-MMT nanocomposites and those of pure MMT and PANI. DC conductivity was measured in the temperature range from 145 K to 303 K using four probe methods. Temperature dependent DC conductivity of PANI and all the PANI-MMT composites followed 3 dimensional variable range hopping (3D VRH) model. Frequency dependent AC conductivity (σAC), dielectric constant (ɛ′) and loss factor (ɛ″) have been measured in the frequency range 102–106. All these measured quantities; σAC, ɛ′ and ɛ″ decreased with the increase in MMT content in the composites at all frequencies. The frequency dependence of σAC displayed a low frequency region below 104 Hz with almost constant conductivity, while above this frequency a rapid rise in σAC was observed with a power law of frequency dependence with an exponent equal to 0.7. Both real and imaginary parts of the permittivity exhibited a low frequency dispersion which has been attributed to hopping of polarons and bipolarons in PANI and its composites. The thermal stability was checked by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and was found to be enhanced due to addition of MMT in the PANI.  相似文献

Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) reinforced polylactide (PLA) nanocomposites were injected molded into a mold with micro needle patterns. In order to alleviate the hesitation effect caused by an increased melt viscositgy of PLA/CNT nanocomposites, the effects of the injection speed and holding pressure on the replication property were investigated. The effects of MWCNTs on the crystallization, thermal behavior, replication properties, replication and surface properties of micro injection molded PLA/CNT nanocomposites were investigated. An analysis of crystallinity and thermal behavior indicated that the MWCNTs promoted the unique α’ to α crystal transition of PLA, leading to an enhancement of surface modulus and hardness, as measured using a nanoindentation technique. The specific interaction between PLA and MWCNTs was characterized using an equilibrium melting point depression technique. Furthermore, the MWCNTs increased the activation energy for thermal degradation of PLA due to the physical barrier effect. The improved replication quality of the microfeatures in the PLA/MWCNT nanocomposites has been achieved by elevating injection speed and holding pressure, which enhances the polymer filling ability within the micro cavity. A replication ratio greater than 96% for the micro injection molded PLA/CNT nanocomposites were achieved at holding pressure of 100 MPa and injection speed of 120 mm/s. This study shows that processing conditions significantly influence the replication and surface properties of micro injection molded PLA/CNT nanocomposites.  相似文献

Thermal degradation behavior of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) nanocomposites, with different nanotubes contents (0.5, 1.5 and 3.5 wt%) prepared via in-situ polymerization technique have been investigated using thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). TGA spectra revealed that these nanocomposites had enhanced thermal stability and no significant mass loss (<0.4 wt%) occurred up to 350°C. Thermal degradation of these UHMWPE/MWCNT nanocomposites was investigated in terms of parameters such as the onset temperature of degradation (T10), the decomposition temperature at 50% wt loss (T50), the degradation temperature of maximum rate of the weight loss (Tm), and the residual yields (WR) from TGA. The degradation activation energies (E) of virgin UHMWPE and its nanocomposites were estimated using the Friedman, the Ozawa, Flynn, and Wall (OFW), and the Kissinger's methods. Results indicated that the degradation activation energy for the virgin UHMWPE was 281.3 kJ/mol. The activation energy increased with increasing nanotube loading up to 1.5 wt% indicating that MWCNTs had a stabilizing effect on the degradation of the matrix. However, loadings of 3.5 wt% of nanotube or more could slightly decrease the activation energy. The decrease in the activation energy for degradation of nanocomposites with higher MWCNT concentrations might be attributed to the catalytic effects of nanotubes and polymerization catalyst residues. The “model fitting” method indicated a mechanism of n th-order auto-catalysis from the form of the conversion curves for UHMWPE/MWCNTs nanocomposites prepared via in-situ polymerization.  相似文献

The cyclic voltammetric behaviour of three common pesticides such as isoproturon (ISO), voltage (VOL) and dicofol (DCF) was investigated at glassy carbon electrode (GCE), multiwalled carbon nanotubes modified GCE (MWCNTs/GCE), polyaniline (PANI) and polypyrrole (PPY) deposited MWCNT/GCE. The modified electrode film was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The electroactive behaviour of the pesticides was realized from the cyclic voltammetric studies. The differential pulse voltammetric principle was used to analyze the above-mentioned pesticides using MWCNT/GCE, PANI/MWCNT/GCE and PPY/MWCNT/GCE. Effects of accumulation potential, accumulation time, Initial scan potential, amplitude and pulse width were examined for the optimization of stripping conditions. The PANI/MWCNT/GCE performed well among the three electrode systems and the determination range obtained was 0.01-100 mgL(-1) for ISO, VOL and DCF respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.1 microgL(-1) for ISO, 0.01 microgL(-1) for VOL and 0.05 microgL(-1) for DCF on PANI/MWCNT/GCE modified system. It is significant to note that the PANI/MWCNT/GCE modified system results in the lowest LOD in comparison with the earlier reports. Suitability of this method for the trace determination of pesticide in spiked samples was also realized.  相似文献

A new method for the synthesis of exfoliated graphite and polyaniline (PANI)/graphite nanocomposites was developed. Exfoliated graphite nanosheets were prepared through the microwave irradiation and sonication of synthesized expandable graphite. The nanocomposites were fabricated via the in situ polymerization of the monomer at the presence of graphite nanosheets. The as-synthesized graphite nanosheets and PANI/graphite nanocomposite materials were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The conductivity of the PANI/graphite nanocomposites was dramatically increased over that of pure PANI. TGA indicated that the incorporation of graphite greatly improved the thermal stability of PANI. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 42: 1972–1978, 2004  相似文献
