Single-component molecular conductors [M(tmdt)2] (tmdt = trimethylenetetrathiafulvalenedithiolate; M = Ni, Au, Pt, Cu), exhibit a variety of electromagnetic properties, which originate from the differences of the metal’s d-orbitals role in the band structure formation. The [Au(tmdt)2] crystal undergoes an antiferromagnetic transition at 110 K, while maintaining a metallic state at lower temperatures. The Au analog has a high magnetic transition temperature as compared to traditional magnetic molecular conductors due to the strong three-dimensional (3-D) structure and the contribution of the metal d-orbitals. The single-component molecular conductor, [Cu(tmdt)2], with π- and d-like frontier orbitals is isostructural with other metallic [M(tmdt)2] systems (M = Ni, Pt, Au). The Cu(tmdt)2 molecule is planar, which strikingly contrasts the tetrahedral coordination of Cu(dmdt)2 (dmdt = dimethyltetrathiafulvalenedithiolate) with similarly extended TTF type ligands. Interestingly, unlike other [M(tmdt)2] with metallic behavior, [Cu(tmdt)2] shows semiconducting behavior at room temperature (σ(RT) = ∼7 S cm−1). The RT conductivity increased linearly with increased pressure to 110 S cm−1 at 15 kbar despite the compressed pellet sample. The magnetic susceptibility indicates one-dimensional (1-D) Heisenberg behavior with J = 117 cm−1 and shows antiferromagnetic ordering at 13 K. The [Cu(tmdt)2] is a new multi-frontier π-d system, which introduces a d(σ)-type frontier orbital around the Fermi level of the π-like metal bands.  相似文献

The electronic and mechanical properties of 5d transition metal mononitrides from LaN to AuN are systematically investigated by use of the density-functional theory. For each nitride, six structures are considered, i.e., rocksalt, zinc blende, CsCl, wurtzite, NiAs and WC structures. Among the considered structures, rocksalt structure is the most stable for LaN, HfN and AuN, WC structure for TaN, NiAs structure for WN, wurtzite structure for ReN, OsN, IrN and PtN. The most stable structure for each nitride is mechanically stable. The formation enthalpy increases from LaN to AuN. For LaN, HfN and TaN, the formation enthalpy is negative for all the considered structures, while from WN to AuN, except wurtzite structure in ReN, the formation enthalpy is positive. The calculated density of states shows that they are all metallic. ReN in NiAs structure has the largest bulk modulus, 418 GPa. The largest shear modulus 261 GPa is from TaN in WC structure. Computational and experimental studies using linear muffin tin orbital methods and UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, respectively, were performed to quantitatively probe the relationships between composition, crystal structure and the electronic structure of oxides containing octahedrally coordinated d0 transition metal ions. The ions investigated in this study (Ti4+, Nb5+, Ta5+, Mo6+, and W6+) were examined primarily in perovskite and perovskite-related structures. In these compounds the top of the valence band is primarily oxygen 2p non-bonding in character, while the conduction band arises from the π∗ interaction between the transition metal t2g orbitals and oxygen. For isostructural compounds the band gap increases as the effective electronegativity of the transition metal ion decreases. The effective electronegativity decreases in the following order: Mo6+>W6+>Nb5+∼Ti4+>Ta5+. The band gap is also sensitive to changes in the conduction band width, which is maximized for structures possessing linear M-O-M bonds, such as the cubic perovskite structure. As this bond angle decreases (e.g., via octahedral tilting distortions) the conduction band narrows and the band gap increases. Decreasing the dimensionality from 3-D (e.g., the cubic perovskite structure) to 2-D (e.g., the K2NiF4 structure) does not significantly alter the band gap, whereas completely isolating the MO6 octahedra (e.g., the ordered double perovskite structure) narrows the conduction band width dramatically and leads to a significant increase in the band gap. Inductive effects due to the presence of electropositive “spectator” cations (alkali, alkaline earth, and rare-earth cations) tend to be small and can generally be neglected.  相似文献

Three-step reactions starting from 2-chlorotropone with dimethylthiobarbituric acid afforded 7,9-dimethylcyclohepta[b]pyrimido[5,4-d]thiophen-8(7H),10(9H)-dionylium tetrafluoroborate 5·BF4, which is the isoelectronic compound of the 5-ethyl-3-methyllumiflavinium ion. The X-ray crystal analysis and MO calculation were carried out to clarify the structural characteristics of 5·BF4. The stability of cation 5 is expressed by the pKR+ value, which was determined spectrophotometrically as 5.1. The electrochemical reduction of 5 exhibited low reduction potential at −0.53 (V vs Ag/AgNO3), upon cyclic voltammetry (CV). In a search for the reactivity, reactions of 5·BF4 with some nucleophiles, hydride, diethylamine, thiols, and methanol, were carried out, which revealed that the introduction of nucleophiles to give regio-isomers is dependent on the nucleophile. The photo-induced oxidation reactions of 5·BF4 toward some alcohols under aerobic conditions were carried out to give the corresponding carbonyl compounds in more than 100% yield [based on compound 5·BF4], suggesting the oxidizing function of 5·BF4 toward alcohols in the autorecycling process. The UV-vis and fluorescence spectra of 5 were studied to suggest the electron transfer from alcohols to the excited 5.  相似文献

Group-theoretical and quantum-chemical investigations of the spectrum of low-lying excited states have been performed by the ROHF and FCI-RAS (Full CI in Restricted Active Space) methods for 3d metal endofullerenes (MEFs) M@C60 (M =Mn, Cr, and Fe) in different charged states. The major purpose of this study is quantum-chemical verification of the anomalous (“non-Bethe’s”) character of splitting of the d N atomic states in an electrostatic field with icosahedral symmetry, predicted previously within the theory of integral invariants theory. The interrelation between the integral invariants theory and the quantumchemical methods applied in this work is considered in detail. Our calculations suggest that the d N atomic states in the icosahedral field generated by fullerene C60 (I h ) on a metal atom (ion) remain non-split for different charged states of the metal and C60. Reasons for this phenomenon and other possible approaches to verification of the prediction are discussed. It is demonstrated that the d N states of the encapsulated metal are split in icosahedral 3d MEFs only under very strong compression of these structures.  相似文献

Synthesis of 6,9-disubstituted cyclohepta[b]pyrimido[5,4-d]pyrrole-8(6H),10(9H)-diones 7a-g was accomplished by ring opening and ring closure sequences of 9-substituted cyclohepta[b]pyrimido[5,4-d]furan-8,10(9H)-dione derivatives induced by several amines. Furthermore, alternative synthetic methodology for compounds 7a-e was also accomplished by single-step reaction of 2-chlorotropone with 6-aminouracil derivatives under mild conditions. X-ray crystal analysis of 7a was carried out to clarify the structural characteristics. The properties of 7a-e were studied by the UV-vis spectra and reduction potentials (−1.24 to −1.39 V vs Ag/AgNO3). Novel photo-induced oxidation reaction of 7a-d toward some amines under aerobic conditions was carried out to give the corresponding imines in more than 100% yield [based on compounds 7a-d], suggesting the oxidation reaction occurs in an autorecycling process.  相似文献

A computational method targeted to Werner-type complexes is developed on the basis of quantum mechanical effective Hamiltonian crystal field (EHCF) methodology (previously proposed for describing electronic structure of transition metal complexes) combined with the Gillespie-Kepert version of molecular mechanics (MM). It is a special version of the hybrid quantum/MM approach. The MM part is responsible for representing the whole molecule, including ligand atoms and metal ion coordination sphere, but leaving out the effects of the d-shell. The quantum mechanical EHCF part is limited to the metal ion d-shell. The method reproduces with reasonable accuracy geometry and spin states of the Fe(II) complexes with monodentate and polydentate aromatic ligands with nitrogen donor atoms. In this setting a single set of MM parameters set is shown to be sufficient for handling all spin states of the complexes under consideration.  相似文献

N,N-Dimethyl-5-formylbarbituric acid 1 reacts with maleimide 2 and phenyl isocyanate/phenyl isothiocyanate 4 under microwave-assisted conditions in the solid phase to afford pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidines 3 and oxazino[4,5-d]pyrimidines 5 in excellent yields. Under identical conditions, N,N-dimethyl-6-amino-5-formyluracil 6 reacts with 2 and 4 to give pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivative 7 and pyrimido[4,5-d]pyrimidines 8 in high yields.  相似文献

The crystal chemistry, electronic structure, and electrical and magnetic properties of the novel perovskite-related nickel oxides Sr3Fe2−xNixO7−δ with 0?x?1.0 have been studied. X-ray diffraction and selected area electron diffraction (ED) data indicate that the samples have a tetragonal (Space group I4/mmm) structure. ED patterns and high-resolution images reveal the presence of a regular stacking along the c-axis for the x=1.0 sample. The lattice parameters, oxygen content, and average oxidation state of iron and nickel decrease with increasing Ni content. The electronic structure of the x=1.0 sample was studied by M 2p X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). An analysis of the spectra using the cluster model indicates that this material is in the negative charge-transfer regime and the ground state is dominated by the 3dn+1L configuration with 2p holes (L) in the oxygen band. The insulator states are stabilized due to a p-p type band gap that arises because the p-d transfer integral Tσ dominates over the O 2p bandwith. Although magnetic measurements reveal the presence of ferromagnetic interactions that lead to magnetic frustration at , no long-range magnetic order was observed for the samples with x?0.3. The electrical resistivity decreases with increasing Ni content as the p-p band gap tend to close due to the reduction of the Tσ value. Negative magnetoresistance (∼−24% for x=0.6 and −7% for x=1.0 at 20 K and 9 T) was observed for the Ni containing samples.  相似文献

Reliable synthetic routes were studied for an access to a novel polyfunctionalized 6-amino-2-cyanobenzo[d]thiazole-5-carboxylate ester (1) and its analogue 5-amino-2-cyanothiazolo[5,4-b]pyridine-6-carboxylate ester (2). Both compounds 1 and 2 are functionalized as molecular bricks for the synthesis of innovative molecular systems. A selection of mixed conducting silver chalcogenide halides of the general formula Ag5Q2X with Q=sulfur, selenium and tellurium and X=chlorine and bromine has been investigated due to their thermoelectric properties. Recently, the ternary counterpart Ag5Te2Cl showed a defined d10-d10 interaction in the disordered cation substructure at elevated temperatures where Ag5Te2Cl is present in its high temperature α-phase. A significant drop of the thermal diffusivity has been observed during the β−α phase transition reducing the values from 0.12 close to 0.08 mm2 s−1. At the same transition the thermopower reacts on the increasing silver mobility and jumps towards less negative values.Thermal conductivities, thermopower and thermal diffusivity of selected compounds with various grades of anion substitution in Ag5Q2X were determined around the silver-order/disorder β−α phase transition. A formation of attractive interactions could be observed for selenium substituted phases while no effect was detected for bromide and sulfide samples. Depending on the grade and type of substitution the thermopower changes significantly at and after the β−α phase transition. Thermal conductivities are low reaching values around 0.2-0.3 W m−1 K−1 at 299 K. Partial anion exchange can substantially tune the thermoelectric properties in Ag5Q2X phases.  相似文献

The effective exchange integrals (J(HB)) of the Heisenberg spin model have been evaluated by using the ab initio MO and based on Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) for organic magnetic metals, the (EDT-TTFVO)2FeBr4 crystal based on the X-ray crystallographic structures at 113 K. In order to study the magnetic properties, we proposed some of the pairs, where the direct (d-d) and indirect (d-π-d) magnetic couplings between Fe(III) d-spins (S = 5/2) without/with π-dimer spins (S = 1/2) were calculated, respectively. The effective exchange integrals were evaluated by using UB3LYP method, and principal J values were 0.5, −0.1 and 0.4 K. From these results, it is found that there were three dimensional spin arrangements of Fe(III) d-spins. The Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) simulations had been carried out with our calculated J values to evaluate the magnetic susceptibility for this molecular crystal, reproducing the experimental tendency.  相似文献

Exploiting the diene nature of 6-[1-aza-2-(dimethylamino)prop-l-enyl]-1,3-dimethyluracil (2), novel 5-aryl-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines (5ah) have been synthesized. The reaction proceeds through a triene intermediate whose structure has been conclusively established by single crystal X-ray analysis. Role of water is intriguing as the reaction can be stopped at the intermediate stage. Iron (III) rich pigments MgFe2O4 and ZnFe2O4 spinel ferrites and α-Fe2O3 hematite were synthesized by Pechini route and precipitation process, respectively. The compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Mössbauer spectroscopy and visible-NIR spectroscopy. Diffuse reflectance spectra were interpreted in regard of structural features of the three oxides in order to correlate absorption bands positions with structural parameters. It has been demonstrated that the two main absorption edges occurring in visible range (400-800 nm) can be attributed to two 2p(O2−)→3d(Fe3+) charge transfers, the energy being directly linked to the distortion degree of the [FeO6] octahedra.  相似文献

Ring transformation of 7,9-dimethylcyclohepta[b]pyrimido[5,4-d]furan- 8(7H),10(9H)-dionylium tetrafluoroborate 4+·BF4 to 7,9-dimethylcyclohepta[b]pyrimido[5,4-d]pyrrrole-8(7H),10(9H)-dionylium tetrafluoroborate 6a-d+·BF4 consists of the reaction of 4+·BF4 with amines and subsequent exchange of the counter-ion using aq. HBF4. Reactions of 4+·BF4 with aniline and 4-substituted anilines afforded the corresponding pyrrole derivatives 6a-c+·BF4 directly in good yields. On the other hand, reaction of 4+·BF4 with benzylamine gave the troponeimine intermediate 9, which was not converted to 6d+·BF4 and reverted to 4+·BF4 by adding HBF4; however, it was converted to 6d+·BF4 upon treatment with (COCl)2 or SOCl2, followed by exchange of the counter-ion. In a search for the characteristics of 9, inspection and comparison of the X-ray crystal analyses, NMR and UV-vis spectra, and CV measurement of 9 and N,N-disubstituted troponeimine derivatives 12 were carried out to suggest the remarkable structure of 12 having ionic C-O bonding between the imine-carbon atom and the oxygen atom of the barbituric acid moiety in the solid state. Thus, characteristics of 9 were ascribed to the sterically hindered and favorable conformation of N-protonated troponeimine intermediates. Furthermore, novel photo-induced oxidation reactions of a series of 4+·BF4, 5+·BF4, and 6a,e+·BF4 towards some amines under aerobic conditions were carried out to give the corresponding imines in 455-8362% yields [based on compounds 4+, 5+, and 6a,e+], suggesting the oxidation reaction occurs in an autorecycling process. Mechanistic aspects of the amine-oxidation reaction are also postulated.  相似文献
