This paper is concerned with the traveling wave solutions and the spreading speeds for a nonlocal dispersal equation with convolution-type crossing-monostable nonlinearity, which is motivated by an age-structured population model with time delay. We first prove the existence of traveling wave solution with critical wave speed c = c*. By introducing two auxiliary monotone birth functions and using a fluctuation method, we further show that the number c = c* is also the spreading speed of the corresponding initial value problem with compact support. Then, the nonexistence of traveling wave solutions for c < c* is established. Finally, by means of the (technical) weighted energy method, we prove that the traveling wave with large speed is exponentially stable, when the initial perturbation around the wave is relatively small in a weighted norm.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with nonlinear stability of traveling wave fronts for a delayed reaction diffusion system. We prove that the traveling wave front is exponentially stable to perturbation in some exponentially weighted L spaces, when the difference between initial data and traveling wave front decays exponentially as x→−, but the initial data can be suitable large in other locations. Moreover, the time decay rates are obtained by weighted energy estimates.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the traveling waves for a class of delayed reaction-diffusion equations with crossing-monostability. In the previous papers, we established the existence and uniqueness of traveling waves which may not be monotone. However, the stability of such traveling waves remains open. In this paper, by means of the (technical) weighted energy method, we prove that the traveling wave is exponentially stable, when the initial perturbation around the wave is relatively small in a weighted norm. As applications, we consider the delayed diffusive Nicholson??s blowflies equation in population dynamics and Mackey?CGlass model in physiology.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence and stability of traveling wave solutions for a degenerate reaction–diffusion equation with time delay. The degeneracy of spatial diffusion together with the effect of time delay causes us the essential difficulty for the existence of the traveling waves and their stabilities. In order to treat this case, we first show the existence of smooth- and sharp-type traveling wave solutions in the case of \(c\ge c^*\) for the degenerate reaction–diffusion equation without delay, where \(c^*>0\) is the critical wave speed of smooth traveling waves. Then, as a small perturbation, we obtain the existence of the smooth non-critical traveling waves for the degenerate diffusion equation with small time delay \(\tau >0\). Furthermore, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of \(C^{\alpha ,\beta }\)-solution to the time-delayed degenerate reaction–diffusion equation via compactness analysis. Finally, by the weighted energy method, we prove that the smooth non-critical traveling wave is globally stable in the weighted \(L^1\)-space. The exponential convergence rate is also derived.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with traveling waves of a monostable reaction–diffusion system with delay and without quasi-monotonicity. When the initial perturbation around the traveling wave is suitably small in a weighted norm, the exponential stability of all traveling wave solutions for the system with delay is proved by the weighted energy method.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior, as well as the stability of a special kind of traveling wave solutions for competitive PDE systems involving intrinsic growth, competition, crowding effects and diffusion. The traveling waves are exclusive in the sense that as the variable goes to positive or negative infinity, different species are close to extinction or carrying capacity. We perform an appropriate affine transformation of the traveling wave equations into monotone form and construct appropriate upper and lower solutions. By this means, we reduce the existence proof to application of well-known theory about monotone traveling wave systems (cf. [A. Leung, Systems of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations: Applications to Biology and Engineering, MIA, Kluwer, Boston, 1989; J. Wu, X. Zou, Traveling wave fronts of reaction-diffusion systems with delay, J. Dynam. Differential Equations 13 (2001) 651-687] and [I. Volpert, V. Volpert, V. Volpert, Traveling Wave Solutions of Parabolic Systems, Transl. Math. Monogr., vol. 140, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 1994]). Then, by using spectral analysis of the linearization over the profile, we prove the orbital stability of the traveling wave in some Banach spaces with exponentially weighted norm. Furthermore, we show that the introduction of some weight is necessary in the sense that, in general, traveling wave solutions with initial perturbations in the (unweighted) space C0 are unstable (cf. [I. Volpert, V. Volpert, V. Volpert, Traveling Wave Solutions of Parabolic Systems, Transl. Math. Monogr., vol. 140, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 1994] and [D. We study the existence of traveling wave solutions for a nonlocal and non-monotone delayed reaction-diffusion equation. Based on the construction of two associated auxiliary reaction diffusion equations with monotonicity and by using the traveling wavefronts of the auxiliary equations, the existence of the positive traveling wave solutions for c 〉 c. is obtained. Also, the exponential asymptotic behavior in the negative infinity was established. Moreover, we apply our results to some reactiondiffusion equations with spatio-temporal delay to obtain the existence of traveling waves. These results cover, complement and/or improve some existing ones in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the global nonlinear stability of longitudinal wave for the planar motion of elastic string with linear Hooke's law. First, we will give the representation of the traveling wave solution to the recast hyperbolic system. Then, by using the weighted function method, we obtain the global stability of longitudinal wave solution for nonlinear elastic string equation.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with stability of traveling wave fronts for nonlocal diffusive systems. We adopt L1-weighted, L1- and L2-energy estimates for the perturbation systems, and show that all solutions of the Cauchy problem for the considered systems converge exponentially to traveling wave fronts provided that the initial perturbations around the traveling wave fronts belong to a suitable weighted Sobolev space.  相似文献

This is the second part of a series of study on the stability of traveling wavefronts of reaction-diffusion equations with time delays. In this paper we will consider a nonlocal time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation. When the initial perturbation around the traveling wave decays exponentially as x→−∞ (but the initial perturbation can be arbitrarily large in other locations), we prove the asymptotic stability of all traveling waves for the reaction-diffusion equation, including even the slower waves whose speed are close to the critical speed. This essentially improves the previous stability results by Mei and So [M. Mei, J.W.-H. So, Stability of strong traveling waves for a nonlocal time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 138 (2008) 551-568] for the speed with a small initial perturbation. The approach we use here is the weighted energy method, but the weight function is more tricky to construct due to the property of the critical wavefront, and the difficulty arising from the nonlocal nonlinearity is also overcome. Finally, by using the Crank-Nicholson scheme, we present some numerical results which confirm our theoretical study.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a nonlocal diffusion equation with a general diffusion kernel and delayed nonlinearity, and obtain the existence, nonexistence and uniqueness of the regular traveling wave solutions for this nonlocal diffusion equation. As an application of the results, we reconsider some models arising from population dynamics, epidemiology and neural network. It is shown that there exist regular traveling wave solutions for these models, respectively. This generalized and improved some results in literatures.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the stability of traveling wave fronts for a coupled system of non-local delayed lattice differential equations with a quiescent stage. It shows that under certain conditions all non-critical traveling wave fronts are globally exponentially stable, and critical ftraveling wave fronts are globally algebraically stable by applying the weighted energy method and the semi-discrete Fourier transform.  相似文献

We obtain some existence results for traveling wave fronts and slowly oscillatory spatially periodic traveling waves of planar lattice differential systems with delay. Our approach is via Schauder's fixed-point theorem for the existence of traveling wave fronts and via S1-degree and equivarant bifurcation theory for the existence of periodic traveling waves. As examples, the obtained abstract results will be applied to a model arising from neural networks and explicit conditions for traveling wave fronts and global continuation of periodic waves will be obtained.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic stability and instability of solutions to a variable coefficient logarithmic wave equation with nonlinear damping and memory term. Such model describes wave traveling through nonhomogeneous viscoelastic materials. By choosing appropriate multiplier and using weighted energy method, we prove the exponential decay of the energy. Moreover, we also obtain the instability of the solutions at the infinity in the presence of the nonlinear damping.  相似文献

In this paper,we focus on studying approximate solutions of damped oscillatory solutions of the compound KdV-Burgers equation and their error estimates. We employ the theory of planar dynamical systems to study traveling wave solutions of the compound KdV-Burgers equation. We obtain some global phase portraits under different parameter conditions as well as the existence of bounded traveling wave solutions.Furthermore,we investigate the relations between the behavior of bounded traveling wave solutions and the dissipation coefficient r of the equation. We obtain two critical values of r,and find that a bounded traveling wave appears as a kink profile solitary wave if |r| is greater than or equal to some critical value, while it appears as a damped oscillatory wave if |r| is less than some critical value.By means of analysis and the undetermined coefficients method,we find that the compound KdV-Burgers equation only has three kinds of bell profile solitary wave solutions without dissipation.Based on the above discussions and according to the evolution relations of orbits in the global phase portraits,we obtain all approximate damped oscillatory solutions by using the undetermined coefficients method. Finally, using the homogenization principle,we establish the integral equations reflecting the relations between exact solutions and approximate solutions of damped oscillatory solutions. Moreover,we also give the error estimates for these approximate solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the dynamical behavior of traveling wave solutions in the Zhiber–Shabat equation by using the bifurcation theory and the method of phase portraits analysis. As a result, we obtain the conditions under which smooth and non-smooth traveling wave solutions exist, and give some exact explicit solutions for some special cases.  相似文献

In this paper, we restrict our attention to traveling wave solutions of a reaction-diffusion equation. Firstly we apply the Divisor Theorem for two variables in the complex domain, which is based on the ring theory of commutative algebra, to find a quasi-polynomial first integral of an explicit form to an equivalent autonomous system. Then through this first integral, we reduce the reaction-diffusion equation to a first-order integrable ordinary differential equation, and a class of traveling wave solutions is obtained accordingly. Comparisons with the existing results in the literature are also provided, which indicates that some analytical results in the literature contain errors. We clarify the errors and instead give a refined result in a simple and straightforward manner.   相似文献

This paper is concerned with the traveling waves in a class of non-monotone integral equations. First we establish the existence of traveling waves. The approach is based on the construction of two associated auxiliary monotone integral equations and a profile set in a suitable Banach space. Then we show that the traveling waves are unique up to translations under some reasonable assumptions. The exact asymptotic behavior of the profiles as ξ→−∞ and the existence of minimal wave speed are also obtained. Finally, we apply our results to an epidemic model with non-monotone “force of infection”.  相似文献
