Heterometallic compounds BaCr2(OH)(Ac)(Nta)2 · 4H2O (I) and [Fe(L)3][Cr2(OH)(Ac)(Nta)2] · nH2O (L is Bipy (II) and Phen (III); Bipy is, αα′-bipyridine, Phen is o,o′-phenanthroline, Ac is acetate ion, Nta is nitrilotriacetate ion; n = 8 (II) and 6.25 (III)) are synthesized. According to the X-ray diffraction data, compounds II and III have ionic structures built of the isolated complex cations [Fe(L)3]2+, binuclear complex anions [Cr2(OH)(Ac)(Nta)2]2−, and crystallization water molecules. The magnetic properties of compounds II and III in the interval from 2 to 300 K confirm assumptions on the diamagnetic character of [Fe(L)3]2+ and indicate the antiferromagnetic interaction between the chromium atoms in the dimeric fragment [Cr2(OH)(Ac)(Nta)2]2−.  相似文献

Two new heterotrinuclear FeIII-MII-FeIII oxalate-bridged complexes have been prepared, and characterized, namely MII[(ox)FeIII(Salen)]2, [Salen = N,N′-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminate), ox = oxalate, M = Cu (1) and VO (2)]. Based on elemental analysis, conductivity measurements and i.r. spectra, the complexes are proposed to have an oxalate-bridged structure. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured over the 4.2–300 K range, giving the exchange integrals J AB = −4.23 cm−1, J AA = −2.47 cm−1 for (1) and J AB = −5.42 cm−1, J AA = −1.55 cm−1 for (2). These results revealed the operation of an antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction between the metal ions. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Substitution inertcis-diaqua CrIII complexes: cis-[(Lx−)CrIII(H2O)2](3−x)+ derived from N-donor ligands (Lx−) viz., bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline (x = 0) and N,O-donor ligands viz., nitrilotriacetate and anthranilate N,N-diacetate (x = 3) titrate as diprotic acids in aqueous solution and enhance the acidity of otherwise weakly acidic boric acid (H3BO3) producing mononuclear and binuclear mixed ligand CrIII-borate complexes: [(L)Cr(H2BO4)]x− and [(L)Cr(BO4)Cr(L)](1−2x)+ respectively through coordination of the H2O and/or OH ligands, cis-coordinated in the CrIII-complexes on the electron deficient BIII-atom in H3BO3 with release of protons. Deprotonation of the parent CrIII-complexes and their reactions with H3BO3 have been investigated by potentiometric method in aqueous solution,I = 0.1 mol dm−3 (NaNO3) at 25 ±0.1°C. The equilibrium constants have been evaluated by computerized methods and the tentative stoichiometry of the reactions have been worked out on the basis of the speciation curves  相似文献

The MnIV complex of 1,8-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)-3,6-diazaoctane (MnIVL) with phenolate-amido-amine coordination is reduced by l-ascorbic acid and oxalic acid obeying overall 1:1 stoichiometry. The reactions are biphasic and MnIIIL is the reactive intermediate. The product of oxidation of ascorbic acid (H2Asc) is dehydroascorbic acid and that of oxalic acid (H2OX) is CO2, while MnII is the end product from MnIV. Both MnIVL and MnIIIL form outer sphere adducts with H2Asc and H2OX with high values of equilibrium constants of formation (Q>102 dm3 mol−1, I = 0.5 mol dm−3, 25.8 °C, 1.5% v/v MeOH+H2O). The adduct formation is diffusion controlled and is attributed to hydrogen bonding interactions between the reactants. The rate constants for the electron transfer in (MnIV/IIIL, H2A), (MnIV/IIIL, HA) (H2A = H2Asc, H2OX) and for (MnIVL, H2Asc)+H2Asc, (MnIIIL, HAsc)+HAsc are reported. There was no evidence of direct coordination of the reductants to the MnIV/III center indicating an outer sphere (ET) mechanism.  相似文献

Trinuclear systems of formula [{Cr(LN3O2Ph)(CN)2}2M(H2LN3O2R)] (M=MnII and FeII, LN3O2R stands for pentadentate ligands) were prepared in order to assess the influence of the bending of the apical M−N≡C linkages on the magnetic anisotropy of the FeII derivatives and in turn on their Single-Molecule Magnet (SMM) behaviors. The cyanido-bridged [Cr2M] derivatives were obtained by assembling trans-dicyanido CrIII complex [Cr(LN3O2Ph)(CN)2] and divalent pentagonal bipyramid complexes [MII(H2LN3O2R)]2+ with various R substituents (R=NH2, cyclohexyl, S,S-mandelic) imparting different steric demand to the central moiety of the complexes. A comparative examination of the structural and magnetic properties showed an obvious effect of the deviation from straightness of the M−N≡C alignment on the slow relaxation of the magnetization exhibited by the [Cr2Fe] complexes. Theoretical calculations have highlighted important effects of the bending of the apical C−N−Fe linkages on both the magnetic anisotropy of the FeII center and the exchange interactions with the CrIII units.  相似文献

Mannich reaction of 2-Amino propanol, 2-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol, and formaldehyde in the ratio of 1:2:2 provides a new compound, N-(1-propanol)-N,N-bis(3-tert-butyl-5-methyl-2-hydroxybenxyl)amine (H3L), which has been characterized by X-ray crystallography and elemental analysis. In the presence of Et3N, the reaction of H3L and FeCl3·6H2O gives a dinuclear Fe(III) complex [Fe2L2] 1, which has been characterized by X-ray crystallography, magnetic measurement, and cyclic voltammetry. The value of μeff at room temperature (5.97 μB) is much less than the expected spin-only value (8.37 μB) of two high spin (hs) Fe3+ (S = 5/2) ions [μ = g[∑ZS(S + 1)]1/2], indicating there are strong coupling interactions between Fe3+ ions. The magnetic behavior of 1 denotes the occurrence of intramolecular antiferromagnetic interactions (J = −13.35 cm−1 ). CV of 1 reveals two reversible waves at 0.433 and 1.227 V versus AgCl/Ag, which can be ascribed to the successive redox coupling of FeIIFeII/FeIIIFeII and FeIIIFeII/FeIIIFeIII, respectively.  相似文献

New Mannich bases bis(thiosemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L1 and bis(1-phenylsemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L2 were synthesized from condensation of phosphinic acid and formaldehyde with thiosemicarbazide and 1-phenylsemicarbazide, respectively. Monomeric complexes of these ligands, of general formula K2[CrIII(L n )Cl2], K3[FeII(L1)Cl2], K3[MnII(L2)Cl2], and K[M(L n )] (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) or Cd(II); n = 1, 2) are reported. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through IR, UV-Vis, NMR, and mass spectral studies, magnetic moment measurements, elemental analysis, metal content, and conductance. These studies revealed octahedral geometries for the Cr(III), Mn(II), and Fe(II) complexes, square planar for Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes and tetrahedral for the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes. Complex formation via molar ratio in DMF solution has been investigated and results were consistent to those found in the solid complexes with a ratio of (M : L) as (1 : 1).  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of some transition metal cis-3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadiensemicarbazone (CDOSC) complexes are reported. The ligand CDOSC yields: [ML2 Cl2] and [ML2 Cl2] Cl type complexes, where M = CrIII, MnII, FeIII, CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII and HgII, L = CDOSC. Structures of the complexes were determined using elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic measurements, i.r. and electronic, as well as n.m.r spectra. CDOSC acts as a bidentate ligand in all the complexes. All the newly synthesized metal complexes, as well as the ligand, were screened for their antibacterial activity. All the complexes exhibit strong inhibitory action against Gram (+) bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Gram (−) bacteria Escherichia coli. The antibacterial activities of the complexes are stronger than those of the ligand CDOSC itself.  相似文献

The reaction of Mn(CH3COO)3 2H2O with the carboxyl-rich ligand pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (H2L) in methanol affords a high-spin (S = 2) hydratedbis-complex. Structure determination has revealed the solid to be [MnIII(H2 L)(L)] [MnIIIL2] 5H2 O: space group P−1;Z = 2;a = 7.527(3)?3,b= 14.260(4)?,c = 16.080(6)?,α = 91.08(3)°,β = 103.58(3)°,γ= 105.41(3)° andV= 1611.2(10)?3. Each ligand is planar and is bonded in the tridentate O2N fashion. The MnO4N2 coordination spheres show large distortions from octahedral symmetry. The lattice is stabilised by an extensive network of O…O hydrogen-bonding involving water molecules and carboxyl functions. Upon dissolution in water, protic redistribution occurs and the complex acts as the mono-basic acid Mn(HL)(L) (pK, 4.3 ±0.05). The deprotonated complex displays high metal reduction potentials: MnIVL2-MnIIIL 2 , 1.05V; MnIIIL 2 MnIIL 2 2− -, 0.28V vs. SCE  相似文献

Reactions of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) with Cr III, NiII, CoII, or CuII chlorides in aqueous medium yielded complexes with formulae [M(HEC)Cl m .n H 2O], wherem =1 or 2 and n=2 or 3. HEC acted as a uninegatively charged bidentate ligand in the case of CrIII and NiII, and as a neutral ligand in the case of CoII and CuII complexes. The spectra showed that the binding sites in CrIII and NiII complexes were the ether oxygen between two ethoxyl groups and the oxygen of the hydroxyl group; while in the CoII and CuII complexes the binding sites were the oxygen of ethoxyl groups and the primary alcoholic O atom of glucopyranose rings. These complexes would most likely exhibit octahedral geometry with CrIII, NiII, and CoII, but square planar configuration in the case of the CuII complex. The ligand parameters of the CrIII, NiII, and CoII metal chelates were calculated in different solvents and at different temperatures. The thermal stability of the above complexes was investigated and the overall thermodynamics functions G0, H0, and S0, associated with complex formation, were estimated.  相似文献

The redox reactions of thiosulfate with four iron(III) complexes having phenolate-amide-amine coordination, FeIII(L){L = 1,2-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)ethane, L1; 1,3-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)propane, L2; 1,5-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)3-azapentane, L3; and 1,8-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)3,6-diazaoctane, L4} have been investigated in 10% v/v MeOH + H2O and I = 0.3 mol dm−3. At constant pH (~ 4.8) and under pseudo-first order conditions of [S2O 3 2− ] the reaction obeyed the rate law : − d[FeIII(L)]/dt = k obs [FeIII(L)] + k obs where k obs denotes the observed rate constant of thiosulfate decomposition; k obs = a[S2O 3 2− ] + b[S2O 3 2− ] T 2 is valid for all the complexes, particularly at pH < 6, while k obs = [H+][S2O 3 2− ] T 2 is consistent with the rate law for thiosulfate decomposition proposed earlier. The rate data (k obs) were analysed on the basis of the reactivities of various species of FeIII(L) generated by the equilibrium protonation of the sec-NH of dien and trien spacer units resulting in the ring opening (for [FeIII(L3/L4)]), and acid base equilibrium of the aqua ligand bound to the iron(III) centre ([FeIII(L)(OH2) n ]). The redox activities, both for second and third order paths, show the ligand dependencies : L4<L3<L1<L2 conforming to the fact that the complexes tend to be less susceptible to electron transfer from S2O 3 2− with (i) the increase of the number of chelate rings, (ii) the decrease of overall charge, and (iii) the decrease of ring size offered by the amine moiety (from six membered to five membered one as for [FeIII(L1/L2)(OH2)2]+. There was no evidence for the formation of inner sphere thiosulfato complex, the possibility of the formation of the outer sphere ion-pairs, [Fe(L/HL)(OH2)n +/2+, S2O 3 2− ] with low equilibrium constant value may not be excluded. In view of this, the outer sphere electron transfer (ET) mechanism is the most likely possibility.  相似文献

Two new imidazolate-bridged dinuclear CuII complexes, Na[Cu2(L1)2(im)] and K[Cu2(L2)2(im)] (where H2L1=6-amino-1,3-dimethyl-5(2-carboxyphenyl)azouracil and H2L2=1,3-dimethyl-5(2-carboxyphenyl)azobarbituric acid) have been prepared and characterized by magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopic measurements. Both compounds exhibit the expected antiferromagnetic behaviour with 2J=−54.8 and −30.4 cm−1, respectively. Because of the lack of suitable crystals for single crystal X-ray analysis, we have calculated the lowest energy structures using a program based on the MMX force field. On the basis of the results, the magnitude of the magnetic interaction is discussed. TMC 2623  相似文献

Critical phenomena in ethylbenzene oxidation in an acetic acid solution at high cobalt(III) concentrations (from 0.01 to 0.2 mol L−1) were studied at 60–90 °C by the gasometric (O2 absorption), spectrophotometric (CoIII accumulation), and chemiluminescence (relative concentration of radical RO2 ·) methods. These phenomena are as follows: (1) increase in the oxidation rate above the theoretical limiting rate of radical autooxidation (k 3 2[RH]2/2k 6); (2) achievement of a maximum and a sharp decrease in the oxidation rate and concentration of radical RO2 · with the further increase in the CoII concentration (existence of critical concentrations). The oxidation rate increases due to the reaction RO2 · + CoII + H+ → → ROOH + CoIII, while the inhibition effect is caused by the decay of RO2 · radical involving two cobalt(II) atoms: RO2 · + 2 CoII → R′CO + CoIII + CoII (k(70 °C) ≈ 300 L2 mol−2 s−1). The detailed scheme (through the formation of the complex RO2 ·CoII) describing the conjugation of these reactions was proposed. __________ Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Mixed ligand complexes [M(2-AP)(Ala)Cl x · mH2O]nH2O, where (M = CoII, NiII, CrIII and FeIII, 2-AP = 2-acetylpyridine, Ala = alanine, x = 2–3, m = 0–1 and n = 3–5] are synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV/Vis., MS, TG, measurements and semi-empirical calculations ZINDO/1 and PM3. The results suggest an octahedral geometry for all isolated complexes. FTIR spectra show that alanine coordinates to the metal ions as a neutral unidentate through the amino nitrogen where 2-acetylpyridine coordinates to the metal ion in a bidentate manner through carbonyl oxygen and pyridyl nitrogen. Semi-empirical calculations have been used to study the molecular geometry and the harmonic vibrational spectra with the purpose to assist the experimental assignment of the complexes. The Fe complex showed significant activity as a catalase-like model.  相似文献

Summary The single-step electrochemical synthesis of neutral transition metal complexes of imidazole, pyrazole and their derivatives has been achieved at ambient temperature. The metal was oxidized in an Me2CO solution of the diazole to yield complexes of the general formula: [M(Iz)2] (where M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn; Iz = imidazolate); [M(MeIz)2] (where M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn; MeIz = 4-methylimidazolate); [M(PriIz)2] (where M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn; PriIz = 2-isopropylimidazolate); [M(pyIz)n] (where M = CoIII, CuII, ZnII; pyIz = 2-(2-pyridyl)imidazolate); [M(Pz)n] (where M = CoIII, NiII, CuII, ZnII; Pz = pyrazolate); [M(ClPz)n] and [M(IPz)n] (where M = CoIII, NiII, CuII, ZnII; ClPz = 4-chloropyrazolate; IPz = 4-iodopyrazolate); [M(Me2Pz)n] (where M = CoII, CuI, ZnII; Me2Pz = 3,5-dimethylpyrazolate) and [M(BrMe2Pz)n] (where M = CoII, NiII, CuI, ZnII; BrMe2Pz = 3,5-dimethyl-4-bromopyrazolate). Vibrational spectra verified the presence of the anionic diazole and electronic spectra confirmed the stereochemistry about the metal centre. Variable temperature (360-90 K) magnetic measurements of the cobalt and copper chelates revealed strong antiferromagnetic interaction between the metal ions in the lattice. Data for the copper complexes were fitted to a Heisenberg (S= ) model for an infinite one-dimensional linear chain, yielding best fit values of J=–62––65cm–1 andg = 2.02–2.18. Data for the cobalt complexes were fitted to an Ising (S= ) model with J=–4.62––11.7cm–1 andg = 2.06–2.49.  相似文献

Several new complexes of a tridentate ONS Schiff base derived from the condensation of S-benzyldithiocarbazate with salicylaldehyde have been characterised by elemental analyses, molar conductivity measurements and by i.r. and electronic spectra. The Schiff base (HONSH) behaves as a dinegatively charged ligand coordinating through the thiolo sulphur, the azomethine nitrogen and the hydroxyl oxygen. It forms mono-ligand complexes: [M(ONS)X], [M=NiII, CuII, CrIII, SbIII, ZnII, ZrIV or UVI with X = H2O, Cl]. The ligand produced a bis-chelated complex of composition [Th(ONS)2] with ThIV. Square-planar structures are proposed for the NiII and CuII complexes. Antimicrobial tests indicate that the Schiff base and five of the metal complexes of CuII, NiII, UVI, ZnII and SbIII are strongly active against bacteria. NiII and SbIII complexes were the most effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (gram negative), while the CuII complex proved to be best against Bacillus cereus (gram positive bacteria). Antifungal activities were also noted with the Schiff base and the UVI complex. These compounds showed positive results against Candida albicans fungi, however, none of them were effective against Aspergillus ochraceous fungi. The Schiff base and its zinc and antimony complexes are strongly active against leukemic cells (CD50 = 2.3–4.3 μg cm−3) while the copper, uranium and thorium complexes are moderately active (CD50 = 6.9–9.5 μg cm−3). The nickel, zirconium and chromium complexes were found to be inactive. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Summary The chelating behaviour of two biologically active ligands, pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde(4-phenyl) thiosemicarbazone(L1H) and pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazone(LH), towards FeIII, CoIII, FeII and RhIII has been investigated. The ligands act as tridentate N–N–S donors, resulting in the formation of bis-chelate complexes of the type MIII(A)2X·nH2O (A=L1 or L; X=Cl, ClO4; M=CoIII, RhIII, FeIII), FeII(L1H)2SO4·2H2O and FeII(L1)2·H2O. Biological activity of the ligands and the metal complexes in the form ofin vitro antibacterial activities towardsE. coli has been evaluated and the possible reasons for enhancement of the activity of ligands on coordination to metal ion is discussed.  相似文献

Peroxydisulfate (PDS) oxidizes N,N′-ethylenebis(isonitrosoacetyleacetoneimine)copper(II) complex, CuIIL, to the corresponding copper(III) complex, [CuIIIL]+. The kinetic runs were performed in the presence of EDTA to scavenge any trace metal impurities. The kinetics of the reaction at constant pH, ionic strength, and temperature obeys the rate law d[CuIIIL]/dt = 2k 2[CuIIL][S2O8 2−] with k 2 having a value of (8.85 ± 0.32) × 10−2 M−1 s−1 at μ = 0.30 M and T = 25.0 °C. The rate constant k 2 is not affected by variation of pH over the range 3.60–5.20. The second order rate constant is also unaffected by changing ionic strength. The values of k obs were determined over the temperature 25.0–40.0 °C range. The enthalpy of activation, ∆H*, and entropy of activation, ∆S*, have been calculated as 34.9 ± 0.5 kJ mol−1 and −173.3 ± 11.4 J K−1 mol−1, respectively. The kinetics of this reaction, as far as we know, is the first evidence that copper(III) is the likely reactive species in copper catalyzed PDS oxidation reactions.  相似文献

Complexation processes in a cobalt(II) hexacyanoferrate(II) gelatin-immobilized matrix under the action of aqueous solutions containing dithiooxamide H2N−C(S)−C(S)−NH2 and glyoxal HOC−CHO at pH>10 were studied. Under these conditions, mild template synthesis occurs to form a CoIII chelate with the (N,N,S,S)-ligand,viz. 2,7-dithio-3,6-diazaoctadiene-3,5-dithioamide-1,8, with a metal to ligand ratio of 1∶1, where dithiooxamide and glyoxal act as ligand synthons. The reaction mechanism is discussed. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 10, pp. 1999–2004, October, 1999.  相似文献
