The C *-algebra generated by the n poly-Bergman and m antipoly-Bergman projections and by the operators of multiplication by piecewise continuous functions on the Lebesgue space L 2(Π) over the upper half-plane is studied. Making use of a local principle, limit operators techniques, and the Plamenevsky results on two-dimensional convolution operators with symbols admitting homogeneous discontinuities we reduce the study to simpler C *-algebras associated with points and pairs . Applying a symbol calculus for the abstract unital C *-algebras generated by N orthogonal projections sum of which equals the unit and by M = n + m one-dimensional orthogonal projections and using relations for the Gauss hypergeometric function, we study local algebras at points being the discontinuity points of coefficients. A symbol calculus for the C *-algebra is constructed and a Fredholm criterion for the operators is obtained.  相似文献

 In this paper we study laminar currents in ℙ2. Given a sequence of irreducible algebraic curves (C n ) converging in the sense of currents to T, we find geometric conditions on the curves ensuring that the limit current T is laminar. This criterion is then applied to meromorphic dynamical systems in ℙ2, and laminarity of the dynamical ``Green' current is obtained for a wide class of meromorphic self maps of ℙ2, as well as for all bimeromorphic maps of projective surfaces. For a positive integer N, we define the N-rank of a non singular integer d × d matrix A to be the maximum integer r such that there exists a minor of order r whose determinant is not divisible by N. Given a positive integer r, we study the growth of the minimum integer k, such that A k I has N-rank at most r, as a function of N. We show that this integer k goes to infinity faster than log N if and only if for every eigenvalue λ which is not a root of unity, the sum of the dimensions of the eigenspaces relative to eigenvalues which are multiplicatively dependent with λ and are not roots of unity, plus the dimensions of the eigenspaces relative to eigenvalues which are roots of unity, does not exceed dr − 1. This result will be applied to recover a recent theorem of Luca and Shparlinski [6] which states that the group of rational points of an ordinary elliptic curve E over a finite field with q n elements is almost cyclic, in a sense to be defined, when n goes to infinity. We will also extend this result to the product of two elliptic curves over a finite field and show that the orders of the groups of rational points of two non isogenous elliptic curves are almost coprime when n approaches infinity. We study extension of operators T: EL0([0, 1]), where E is an F–function space and L0([0, 1]) the space of measurable functions with the topology of convergence in measure, to domains larger than E, and we study the properties of such domains. The main tool is the integration of scalar functions with respect to stochastic measures and the corresponding spaces of integrable functions. Enomoto, Weiner and the first author showed the rigidity of the Clifford torus amongst the class of embedded flat tori in S 3. In the proof of that result, an estimate of extrinsic diameter of flat tori plays a crucial role. It is reasonable to expect that the same rigidity holds in the class of immersed flat tori in S 3. In this paper, we give a new method for characterizing immersed flat tori in S 3 with extrinsic diameter π, which is a somewhat similar technique to the proof of the 6-vertex theorem for certain closed plane curves given by the second author. As an application, we show that the Clifford torus is rigid in the class of immersed flat tori whose mean curvature functions do not change sign. Recently, the global behaviour of flat surfaces in H 3 and R 3 regarded as wave fronts has been studied. We also give here a formulation of flat tori in S 3 as wave fronts. As an application, we shall exhibit a flat torus as a wave front whose extrinsic diameter is less than π.  相似文献

We confirm a twenty year old conjecture by showing that a nonzero prime ideal P in the algebra H of bounded analytic functions in the open unit disk is countably generated if and only if it is either a principal ideal generated by the polynomial zz0, |z0|<1, or if P is generated by the n-th roots of an atomic inner function. Clear effects criterion is one of the important rules for selecting optimal fractional factorial designs, and it has become an active research issue in recent years. Tang et al. derived upper and lower bounds on the maximum number of clear two-factor interactions (2fi’s) in 2 n−(n−k) fractional factorial designs of resolutions III and IV by constructing a 2 n−(n−k) design for given k, which are only restricted for the symmetrical case. This paper proposes and studies the clear effects problem for the asymmetrical case. It improves the construction method of Tang et al. for 2 n−(n−k) designs with resolution III and derives the upper and lower bounds on the maximum number of clear two-factor interaction components (2fic’s) in 4 m 2 n designs with resolutions III and IV. The lower bounds are achieved by constructing specific designs. Comparisons show that the number of clear 2fic’s in the resulting design attains its maximum number in many cases, which reveals that the construction methods are satisfactory when they are used to construct 4 m 2 n designs under the clear effects criterion. In this work we give upper bounds for the Coulomb energy of a sequence of well separated spherical n-designs, where a spherical n-design is a set of m points on the unit sphere S 2 ⊂ ℝ3 that gives an equal weight cubature rule (or equal weight numerical integration rule) on S 2 which is exact for spherical polynomials of degree ⩽ n. (A sequence Ξ of m-point spherical n-designs X on S 2 is said to be well separated if there exists a constant λ > 0 such that for each m-point spherical n-design X ∈ Ξ the minimum spherical distance between points is bounded from below by .) In particular, if the sequence of well separated spherical designs is such that m and n are related by m = O(n 2), then the Coulomb energy of each m-point spherical n-design has an upper bound with the same first term and a second term of the same order as the bounds for the minimum energy of point sets on S 2. Let K be a compact subset in the complex plane and let A(K) be the uniform closure of the functions continuous on K and analytic on . Let μ be a positive finite measure with its support contained in K. For 1 ≤ q < ∞, let Aq(K, μ) denote the closure of A(K) in Lq(μ). The aim of this work is to study the structure of the space Aq(K, μ). We seek a necessary and sufficient condition on K so that a Thomson-type structure theorem for Aq(K, μ) can be established. Our theorem deduces J. Thomson’s structure theorem for Pq(μ), the closure of polynomials in Lq(μ), as the special case when K is a closed disk containing the support of μ.  相似文献

A hyperbolic linear Weingarten surface in ℝ3 is a surface M whose mean and Gaussian curvatures satisfy the relationship 2aH +bK = c for real numbers a, b, c such that a2+bc < 0. In this work we obtain a representation for such a surface in terms of its Gauss map when, more generally, a, b, c are functions on M. We also study the completeness of such surfaces and describe a procedure to construct complete examples from solutions of the sine-Gordon equation. In this paper a method for interpolating planar data points by cubic G 2 splines is presented. A spline is composed of polynomial segments that interpolate two data points, tangent directions and curvatures at these points. Necessary and sufficient, purely geometric conditions for the existence of such a polynomial interpolant are derived. The obtained results are extended to the case when the derivative directions and curvatures are not prescribed as data, but are obtained by some local approximation or implied by shape requirements. As a result, the G 2 spline is constructed entirely locally.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of Lp-maximal regularity for second order Cauchy problems. We prove Lp-maximal regularity for an abstract model problem and we apply the abstract results to prove existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions for nonlinear wave equations. We show that in the dual of Weak L1 the subspace of all rearrangement invariant continuous linear functionals is lattice isometric to a space L1(μ) and is the linear hull of the maximal elements of the dual unit ball. We show that if U* is a hypercover of a topological space X then the natural map hocolim U* X is a weak equivalence. This fact is used to construct topological realization functors for the 1-homotopy theory of schemes over real and complex fields. A Latin squares of order v with ni missing sub-Latin squares (holes) of order hi (1 〈= i 〈 k), which are disjoint and spanning (i.e. ∑k i=l1 nihi = v), is called a partitioned incomplete Latin squares and denoted by PILS. The type of PILS is defined by (h1n1 h2n2…hknk ). If any two PILS inaset of t PILS of type T are orthogonal, then we denote the set by t-HMOLS(T). It has been proved that 3-HMOLS(2n31) exist for n ≥6 with 11 possible exceptions. In this paper, we investigate the existence of 3-HMOLS(2nu1) with u ≥ 4, and prove that 3-HMOLS(2~u1) exist if n ≥ 54 and n ≥7/4u + 7.  相似文献

The following result is proved: Let be a n-dimensional C1-submanifold of RN which is domain of a given nRN-valued map of class C1. Then the set of all points P such that (P) is non-zero, simple and enveloped by TP is C2-rectifiable. For an n-dimensional spherical unit speed curve r and a given point P, we can define naturally the pedal curve of r relative to the pedal point P. When the dual curve germs are non-singular, singularity types of such pedal curves depend only on locations of pedal points. In this paper, we give a complete list of normal forms for singularities and locations of pedal points when the dual curve germs are non-singular. As an application of our list, we characterize C left equivalence classes of pedal curve germs (I, s 0) → S n produced by non-singular dual curve germ from the viewpoint of the relation between tangent space and tangent space.   相似文献

We discuss a technique for trying to find all rational points on curves of the form Y 2=f 3 X 6+f 2 X 4+f 1 X 2+f 0, where the sextic has nonzero discriminant. This is a bielliptic curve of genus 2. When the rank of the Jacobian is 0 or 1, Chabauty's Theorem may be applied. However, we shall concentrate on the situation when the rank is at least 2. In this case, we shall derive an associated family of elliptic curves, defined over a number field ℚα. If each of these elliptic curves has rank less than the degree of ℚα : ℚ, then we shall describe a Chabauty-like technique which may be applied to try to find all the points (x,y) defined over ℚα) on the elliptic curves, for which x∈ℚ. This in turn allows us to find all ℚ-rational points on the original genus 2 curve. We apply this to give a solution to a problem of Diophantus (where the sextic in X is irreducible over ℚ), which simplifies the recent solution of Wetherell.
