An equilibrium problem for an elastic body is considered. It is assumed that the body has a thin elastic inclusion and a thin rigid inclusion. We analyze a junction problem assuming that the inclusions have a joint point. Different equivalent problem formulations are discussed, and existence of solutions is proved. A set of junction conditions is found. We investigate a convergence to infinity and to zero of a rigidity parameter of the elastic inclusion. A delamination of the elastic inclusion is also investigated. In this case, inequality‐type boundary conditions are imposed at the crack faces to prevent a mutual penetration between crack faces. This paper is concerned with the analysis of equilibrium problems for two‐dimensional elastic bodies with thin rigid inclusions and cracks. Inequality‐type boundary conditions are imposed at the crack faces providing a mutual non‐penetration between the crack faces. A rigid inclusion may have a delamination, thus forming a crack with non‐penetration between the opposite faces. We analyze variational and differential problem formulations. Different geometrical situations are considered, in particular, a crack may be parallel to the inclusion as well as the crack may cross the inclusion, and also a deviation of the crack from the rigid inclusion is considered. We obtain a formula for the derivative of the energy functional with respect to the crack length for considering this derivative as a cost functional. An optimal control problem is analyzed to control the crack growth. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The method of direct cutting-out consists of modeling of a finite body, in particular, with thin heterogeneities, using a much simpler problem for a bounded or a partially bounded body with thin heterogeneities located in the same manner and the presence of additional cracks or absolutely rigid inclusions of fairy large length, which are modeled by the boundary conditions of a bounded body. The method is tested on the problems of antiplane deformation of a symmetrically loaded crack in a wedge with free faces and an absolutely rigid inclusion placed with some tension in a wedge with restrained faces. For an elastic inclusion, we construct generalized conditions of interaction, which enable us to unify the procedure of giving different boundary conditions in the case of using the method of direct cutting-out.  相似文献

Under study are the equilibrium problems for a two-dimensional viscoelastic body with delaminated thin inclusions in the cases of elastic and rigid inclusions. Both variational and differential formulations of the problems with nonlinear boundary conditions are presented; their unique solvability is substantiated. For the case of a thin elastic inclusion modelled as a Bernoulli–Euler beam, we consider the passage to the limit as the rigidity parameter of the inclusion tends to infinity. In the limit it is the problem about a thin rigid inclusion. Relationship is established between the problems about thin rigid inclusions and the previously considered problems about volume rigid inclusions. The corresponding passage to the limit is justified in the case of inclusions without delamination.  相似文献

Under consideration is the conjunction problem for a thin elastic and a thin rigid inclusions that are in contact at one point and placed in an elastic body. Depending on what kind of conjunction conditions are set at the contact point of inclusions, we consider the two cases: the case of no fracture, where, as the conjunction conditions, we take the matching of displacements at the contact point and preservation of the angle between the inclusions, and the case with a fracture in which only the matching of displacements is assumed. At the point of conjunction, we obtain the boundary conditions for the differential formulation of the problem. On the positive face of the rigid inclusion, there is delamination. On the crack faces, some nonlinear boundary conditions of the type of inequalities are set, that prevent mutual penetration of the faces. The existence and uniqueness theorems for the solution of the equilibrium problem are proved in both cases.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the control of the shape of rigid and elastic inclusions and crack paths in elastic bodies. We provide the corresponding problem formulations and analyze the shape sensitivity of such inclusions and cracks with respect to different perturbations. Inequality type boundary conditions are imposed at the crack faces to provide a mutual nonpenetration between crack faces. Inclusion and crack shapes are considered as control functions and control objectives, respectively. The cost functional, which is based on the Griffith rupture criterion, characterizes the energy release rate and provides the shape sensitivity with respect to a change of the geometry. We prove an existence of optimal solutions.  相似文献

The equilibrium problem for a two-dimensional body with a crack is studied. We suppose that the body consists of two parts: an elastic part and a rigid thin stiffener on the outer edge of the body. Inequality-type boundary conditions are prescribed at the crack faces providing a non-penetration between the crack faces. For a family of variational problems, dependence of their solutions on the length of the thin rigid stiffener is investigated. It is shown that there exists a solution of an optimal control problem. For this problem, the cost functional is defined by a continuous functional on a solution space, while the length parameter serves as a control parameter.  相似文献

An optimal control problem is considered for a two-dimensional elastic body with a straight thin rigid inclusion and a crack adjacent to it. It is assumed that the thin rigid inclusion delaminates and has a kink. On the crack faces the boundary conditions are specified in the form of equalities and inequalities which describe the mutual nonpenetration of the crack faces. The derivative of the energy functional along the crack length is used as the objective functional, and the position of the kink point, as the control function. The existence is proved of the solution to the optimal control problem.  相似文献

Under consideration is a 2D-problem of elasticity theory for a body with a thin rigid inclusion. It is assumed that there is a delamination crack between the rigid inclusion and the elastic matrix. At the crack faces, the boundary conditions are set in the form of inequalities providing mutual nonpenetration of the crack faces. Some numerical method is proposed for solving the problem, based on domain decomposition and the Uzawa algorithm for solving variational inequalities. We give an example of numerical calculation by the finite element method.  相似文献

We have proposed to apply the dual boundary element method in problems of the theory of thin inclusions. The contact conditions on the boundary of a thin inclusion are considered as jumps of displacements and stresses in the body on the median surface of this defect. Thus, the relations between the unknown discontinuities and average values of the displacements and stresses are a model of inclusions. For rectilinear boundary elements, we have constructed models of inclusions, taking into account the tension, shear, and bending of a thin inclusion. Examples for rectilinear and curved inclusions have been considered. Comparison of the results obtained by the proposed technique with data based on the direct approach shows the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an overlapping domain problem for two elastic bodies. A glue condition of an equality-type is imposed at a given line. Simultaneously, a part of this line is considered to be a crack face with an inequality-type boundary condition describing mutual non-penetration between crack faces. Variational and differential formulations of the problem are considered. We prove a differentiability of the energy functional in the case of rectilinear cracks and find a formula for invariant integrals. Passage to the limit is justified provided that the rigidity of the body goes to infinity.  相似文献

The Saint–Venant torsion problem of a circular cylinder containing a radial crack with surface elasticity is studied. The surface elasticity is incorporated into the crack faces by using the continuum-based surface/interface model of Gurtin and Murdoch. Both an internal crack and an edge crack are considered. By using the Green’s function method, the boundary value problem is reduced to a Cauchy singular integro-differential equation of the first order, which can be numerically solved by using the Gauss–Chebyshev integration formula, the Chebyshev polynomials and the collocation method. Due to the incorporation of surface elasticity, the stresses exhibit the logarithmic singularity at the crack tips. The torsion problem of a circular cylinder containing two symmetric collinear radial cracks of equal length with surface elasticity is also solved by using a similar method. The strengths of the logarithmic singularity and the size-dependent torsional rigidity are calculated.  相似文献

A boundary value problem describing the equilibrium of a two-dimensional linear elastic body with a thin rectilinear elastic inclusion and possible delamination is considered. The stress and strain state of the inclusion is described using the equations of the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory. Delamination means the existence of a crack between the inclusion and the elastic matrix. Nonlinear boundary conditions preventing crack face interpenetration are imposed on the crack faces. As a result, problem with an unknown contact domain is obtained. The problem is solved numerically by applying an iterative algorithm based on the domain decomposition method and an Uzawa-type algorithm for solving variational inequalities. Numerical results illustrating the efficiency of the proposed algorithm are presented.  相似文献

The paper concerns the control of rigid inclusion shapes in elastic bodies with cracks. Cracks are located on the boundary of rigid inclusions and in the bulk. Inequality type boundary conditions are imposed at the crack faces to guarantee mutual non-penetration. Inclusion shapes are considered as control functions. First we provide the problem formulation and analyze the shape sensitivity with respect to geometrical perturbations of the inclusion. Then, based on Griffith criterion, we introduce the cost functional, which measures the shape sensitivity of the problem with respect to the geometry of the inclusion, provided by the energy release rate. We prove existence of optimal shapes for the problem considered.  相似文献

An efficient integral equation formulation for two-dimensional crack problems is proposed with the displacement equation being used on the outer boundary and the traction equation being used on one of the crack faces. Discontinuous quarter point elements are used to correctly model the displacement in the vicinity of crack tips. Using this formulation a general crack problem can be solved in a single-region formulation, and only one of the crack faces needs to be discretised. Once the relative displacements of the cracks are solved numerically, physical quantities of interest, such as crack tip stress intensity factors can be easily obtained. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the present formulation.  相似文献

In this paper we present two subjects of our actual research in the field. The first deals with the boundary conditions at the crack faces. The well known model by Hao and Shen gives opportunity to take the finite dielectric permeability of the crack into account, without having to solve the two- or three-dimensional coupled boundary value problem of solid material and crack medium. This approach, however, is based on the assumption of the electric field being perpendicular to the crack faces. We investigate this problem for arbitrary poling and field directions based on a combined analytical-numerical approach. The second focus of the paper is on the effective properties of piezoelectrics with cracks. Here, homogenization procedures are applied and extended towards coupled field problems including e.g. Maxwell stresses at internal boundaries and interfaces. Effective elastic, dielectric and piezoelectric constants exhibit interesting effects. (© 2013 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

A method for solving the Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem with piecewise-constant coefficients is generalized /1/. It is shown that the following static problems of a composite elastic plane with three kinds of connection conditions allow of exact solutions: 1) the splicing line is weakened by a system of loaded slots and a transverse shear crack or the edges of one of the slots are partially contacting, or one of the slots is cleaved by a rigid insert; 2) the splicing line is reinforced by a system of thin rigid inclusions and there is one arbitrarily located delamination zone; 3) the elastic half-planes are contacting (with slip) on a certain section of their boundaries, and mixed boundary conditions in the displacements and stresses are given on the rest of the boundaries.

In the general case the Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem for many functions reduces to the problem of a linear conjugation, and then to Fredholm integral Eqs./2/. Closed solutions are obtained in certain special cases /3–5/. For applications we mention the papers /6, 7/, where problems are considered concerning slits at the interface of two elastic media with two kinds of physical boundary conditions taken into account simultaneously.  相似文献

Under study is the problem of bending an elastic plate with a thin rigid inclusion which may delaminate and form a crack. We find a system of boundary conditions valid on the faces of the crack and prove the existence of a solution. The problem of bending a plate with a volume rigid inclusion is also considered. We establish the convergence of solutions of this problem to a solution to the original problem as the size of the volume rigid inclusion tends to zero.  相似文献
