In this paper, three-dimensional Brownian dynamics simulation has been conducted for dilute micellar surfactant solution under a steady shear flow. The rodlike micelle in surfactant solution is assumed as a rigid rod made up of lined-up beads. The Lennard–Jones potential and soft-sphere potential are employed and taken as the inter-bead potentials for end–end beads and interior–interior beads, respectively. The motion of the rodlike micelles is determined by solving the translational and rotational equations for each rod under hydrodynamic drag force, Brownian force and inter-rod potential force. Velocity Verlet algorithm has also been exerted in the simulation. The micellar network structure is formed at low shear rates and destroyed by high shear rates. The computed shear viscosities and the first normal stress coefficient represent shear thinning characteristics. The paper reveals the relation between rheology and microstructure of surfactant solution at different shear rates. The effect of surfactant solution concentration rested on the micellar structures and rheological properties has also been investigated.  相似文献

The torsion problem of a circular nonlinear elastic rod loaded by end moments is considered. The solution constructed by the method of successive approximations taking into account second-order effects is compared with the solution obtained by a semi-inverse method. It is shown that the dead-loading assumption breaks the symmetry of the Cauchy stress tensor in a certain region. We apply the asymptotic analysis procedure to the three-dimensional static equations of piezoelectricity, for a linear nonhomogeneous anisotropic thin rod. We prove the weak convergence of the rod mechanical displacement vectors and the rod electric potentials, when the diameter of the rod cross-section tends to zero. This weak limit is the solution of a new piezoelectric anisotropic nonhomogeneous rod model, which is a system of coupled equations, with generalized Bernoulli–Navier equilibrium equations and reduced Maxwell–Gauss equations.  相似文献

A compact algorithm is proposed for exact calculation of the coordinates of the plane elastic line of an axially compressed flexible rod under any loads. Refined approximate formulas are obtained for calculation of the coordinates of the elastic line with an error not greater than 1% of the rod length even for loads which exceed the critical Euler load by 30%. For the coupled model of a thermoviscoelastic rod of equilateral triangular cross section, two exact solutions are obtained for the cases where a normal displacement and a shear stress or a tangential displacement and a normal stress are specified on the lateral surface of the rod. A dimensionless parameter R0 is introduced to judge the appropriateness of taking into account the coupling in the formulation of the problem. The problem of a rod and a plate subjected to plane strain in the interval of the direct phase transformation is formulated as a nonlinear boundary-value thermoelastic problem with an implicit dependence on temperature (through a phase parameter simulating the volume fraction of new-phase crystals). An analytical solution of the problem of a rod bent into a ring and a plate bent into a tube as a result of phase strains under the action of a small end bending moment is given. A numerical analysis of the buckling problem of a titanium nickelide (alloy) rod (plate) under longitudinal compression in the interval of the direct phase transformation shows that buckling becomes possible if the compressive load is much lower than the Euler critical load calculated before the transformation. Branches of buckled equilibrium states corresponding to loads lower than the Euler load are plotted as functions of the phase parameter. In all cases considered, the deflections increase abruptly in the neighborhood of the critical points. The longitudinal motion of an elastic rod is studied for the case that the rod is suddenly elastically fixed at one end and is hit by a mass at its other end. This configuration represents real settings e.g. as a valve impacts an elastic valve-seat or as a stamping device used in forging is hit by a large mass. The solution of the problem is formulated in the Laplace transformation space. The inverse transformation into the time domain is performed by engaging the so-called Laguerre polynomial technique. This method allows to calculate exact solutions for finite times from a finite number of series elements. Rigorous mathematical proofs not established up to now are given with respect to the convergence of the series encountered and the validity of exchanging the order of inversion of the Laplace transformation and summation of the established series. For comparison also a numerical solution of the problem is presented. An analysis of the energy transfer between rod, impacting mass and elastic barrier elucidates the marked influence of the deformability of the elastic barrier on the stress state in the rod.  相似文献

A longitudinal elastic central impact of a system of a constant-section and stepwise rods on a rigid target is modeled by an exact analytical solution of the differential wave equation by the D’Alembert method with imposing appropriate initial and boundary conditions. An exact solution is obtained for the problem of steady-state viscous incompressible flow under a pressure difference in the gap between coaxial cylinders for the case where the inner cylinder rotates at a constant angular velocity. The solution differs from the classical Couette-Poiseuille result by the presence of radial mass transfer, which provides for interaction between the poloidal and azimuthal circulations. The wave processes in a semi-infinite rod located in an elastic medium and subjected to a point load moving at a constant velocity are considered. The system of two differential equations of motion of Timoshenko beam theory is solved using the Laplace transform in time. The integrals obtained are determined numerically. Variation of the bending moment on the longitudinal coordinate behind the elastic-wave front and the region of action of the point force at various times is shown. A method is proposed for determination of the depolarization function of a rod of piezoelectric ceramics for a specified amplitude-frequency characteristic of the current. The problem is reduced to a nonlinear integral equation solved by means of a combination of Tikhonov’s linearization and regularization methods. Although there is an extensive literature on the linearization instability of the nonlinear system of partial differential equations that governs an elastic material, there are very few results that prove that a second branch of solutions actually bifurcates from a known solution branch when the known branch becomes unstable. In this paper the implicit function theorem in a Banach space setting is used to prove that the quasistatic compression of a rectangular elastic rod between rigid frictionless plates leads to the buckling of the rod as is observed in experiment and as first predicted by Euler. The classical stability problem of a compressed hinged elastic rod rotating with constant angular velocity about the axis that passes through the hinges is considered. It is assumed that the compressive force is constant and the line of its action coincides with the axis of rotation of the rod. The aim of this paper is to show how Jacobi elliptic functions in combination with the averaging and the harmonic balance methods can be applied to obtain the approximate solution of two coupled, ordinary differential equations having a spring with cubic nonlinearity and subjected to driving forces of elliptic type. By an appropriate choice of the system parameter values, it is possible to show that our derived solution represents the exact steady-state solution of the undamped Duffing equation with driving force of elliptic type. At the end of this work, we also demonstrate the validity of our derived solution by comparing the amplitude–time response curves with those of the numerical integration solutions.  相似文献
