We prove regularity estimates for functions which are harmonic with respect to certain jump processes. The aim of this article is to extend the method of Bass–Levin (2002) [3] and Bogdan–Sztonyk (2005) [6] to more general processes. Furthermore, we establish a new version of the Harnack inequality that implies regularity estimates for corresponding harmonic functions.  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with a family of elliptic operators represented as sum of square vector fields: , in where is the Laplace operator, , and the limit operator is hypoelliptic. It is well known that admits a fundamental solution . Here we establish some a priori estimates uniform in of it, using a modification of the lifting technique of Rothschild and Stein. As a consequence we deduce some a priori estimates uniform in , for solutions of the approximated equation . The dynamics of gaseous stars is often described by magnetic fields coupled to self-gravitation and radiation effects. In this paper we consider an initial-boundary value problem for nonlinear planar magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) in the case that the effect of self-gravitation as well as the influence of radiation on the dynamics at high temperature regimes are taken into account. Based on the fundamental local existence results and global-in-time a priori estimates, we establish the global existence of a unique classical solution with large initial data to the initial-boundary value problem under quite general assumptions on the heat conductivity.  相似文献

We consider strictly hyperbolic and genuinely nonlinear systems of hyperbolic balance laws in one-space dimension. Sharp decay estimates are derived for the positive waves in an entropy weak solution. The result is obtained by introducing a partial ordering within the family of positive Radon measures, using symmetric rearrangements and a comparison with a solution of Burgers's equation with impulsive sources as well as lower semicontinuity properties of continuous Glimm-type functionals.  相似文献

Using a combination of several methods, such as variational methods, the sub and supersolutions method, comparison principles and a priori estimates, we study existence, multiplicity, and the behavior with respect to λ of positive solutions of p-Laplace equations of the form −Δpu=λh(x,u), where the nonlinear term has p-superlinear growth at infinity, is nonnegative, and satisfies h(x,a(x))=0 for a suitable positive function a. In order to manage the asymptotic behavior of the solutions we extend a result due to Redheffer and we establish a new Liouville-type theorem for the p-Laplacian operator, where the nonlinearity involved is superlinear, nonnegative, and has positive zeros.  相似文献

We use the heat equation to establish the Lipschitz continuity of Cheeger-harmonic functions in certain metric spaces. The metric spaces under consideration are those that are endowed with a doubling measure supporting a (1,2)-Poincaré inequality and in addition supporting a corresponding Sobolev-Poincaré-type inequality for the modification of the measure obtained via the heat kernel. Examples are given to illustrate the necessity of our assumptions on these spaces. We also provide an example to show that in the general setting the best possible regularity for the Cheeger-harmonic functions is Lipschitz continuity.  相似文献

We consider a model problem for the secular growth, which covers all the cases likely to happen in multi-scales BKW expansions for nonlinear hyperbolic systems. This model problem consists in studying the growth in time of the solution of a nonhomogeneous hyperbolic system whose source term is a product of various functions which solve homogeneous hyperbolic systems. The secular growth is due to resonances, that we try to control. When this is not possible, other tools such as decay properties or Strichartz estimates must be used.  相似文献

We develop properties of Cauchy integrals associated to a general class of first-order elliptic systems of differential operators D on a bounded, uniformly rectifiable (UR) domain Ω in a Riemannian manifold M. We show that associated to such Cauchy integrals are analogues of Hardy spaces of functions on Ω annihilated by D  , and we produce projections, of Calderón type, onto subspaces of Lp(∂Ω)Lp(Ω) consisting of boundary values of elements of such Hardy spaces. We consider Toeplitz operators associated to such projections and study their index properties. Of particular interest is a “cobordism argument,” which often enables one to identify the index of a Toeplitz operator on a rough UR domain with that of one on a smoothly bounded domain.  相似文献

In this paper we consider Toeplitz operators on Dirichlet spaces of the unit disk in whose symbols are nonnegative measures. We obtain necessry and sufficient conditions on the symbols for the operator to be bounded and compact. If the symbols are supported in a cone we also get necessary and sufficient conditions for the operators to belong to the Schatten p-class.
