The dependence of the magnetostriction constant of different materials in the form of a wire on the elastic elongation was measured. With pure nickel the magnetostriction constant is independent of the elastic deformation. All three alloys of iron and nickel and the triple alloy Fe-Ni-Co exhibit a linear dependence on the deformation, which differs for different crystallographic texture. In two iron-nickel alloys the dependence of the magnetostriction constants of the single crystal on the elastic deformation was calculated from measurements on polycrystals having different crystallographic textures. In the triple alloy Fe-Ni -Co a considerable linear decrease in the volume magnetostriction with the elastic elongation was also found. The observed changes can be explained by assuming the influence of the lattice deformation on the spinorbital interaction in alloys.

The far field intensity distribution of spontaneously light-emitting diodes with FABRY-PEROT structure and its dependence on different annealing processes during the diode preparation is studied. The electromagnetic field distribution in the far field is considered for a four-layer-stepdiscontinuity of the dielectric constant in a GaAs-(Ga,Al)As heterostructure diode. Even for a symmetrical dielectric constant profile the maximum luminescence intensity is not emitted necessarily in a plane normal to the light emitting surface of the diode. This cross-eyedness can be influenced by annealing. The changed far-field pattern can be evaluated if one knows the doping profile in the vicinity of the p-n junction and its changes during the annealing. The method of sliding photomultipliers was used to study the connection between two forms of the positive column in oxygen — the so-called low-gradientT-form and the highgradientH-form — and the presence of moving striations in the positive column. It was shown that in theT-form of a positive column striations are always present which move from the cathode to anode with a velocity of several thousand metres/sec. The highgradient form of theH-positive column, on the other hand, is not striated. The non-single-valuedness of the value of the longitudinal electric field in a discharge in oxygen is thus explained by the presence or absence of phenomena of a time variable character.

The paper deals with the problem of the anomalous divergence of an infinite geometric series of complex amplitudes, pointed out by Berning. It is shown that the paradox is of a formal mathematical nature and has no consequences for multiple beam interference as a method of derivation.

The properties of the three-crystal devices with the third crystal in crossed position and partly crossed position are discussed. The term crossed position was introduced to designate such arrangement which may be derived from the triple-crystal diffractometer by rotation of the third crystal about the incident central beam through a certain angle. The theory of double quantum transitions of the M=±2 type, with regard to inhomogeneously broadened spin systems is studied in this paper with the approximation 2T2T3 1. We suppose that the inhomogeneous broadening is formed by an inhomogeneous crystal field. The obtained results describe the magnitude of absorption as a function of the h.f. power and also describe the shape of the absorption curve. It is demonstrated that in inhomogeneously broadened spin systems the absorption curve of double quantum transitions has the form of the difference of two different Lorentz's curves and that at the saturation ( 2T2T1 1) the absorption increases with the cube of the h.f. field intensity. The shape of the curves is expressed by means of phenomenological relaxation constants of the system.

Different models of luminescence centres are discussed on the basis of measurements of the composition of ZnS monocrystal photo-luminescence in different polarizations and temperature dependence of the degree of polarization. Those of the models submitted by Birman, which assume the polarization to be due to the different force of the oscillators for transitions withEc andEc, or models assuming luminescence polarization to be due to the orientation of the luminescence centres, agree with the results of experiments, i.e. the temperature independence of the degree of polarization and the conformable spectral composition of both polarizations. It is also shown that measurements made up to now of the degree of polarization must be taken as orientational as a consequence of the depolarizing influence of the diffused rays of luminescence on its value.

In this paper, we study the spectrum of the Dirichlet Laplacian in a bounded (or, more generally, of finite volume) open set R n (n1) with fractal boundary of interior Minkowski dimension (n–1,n]. By means of the technique of tessellation of domains, we give the exact second term of the asymptotic expansion of the counting functionN() (i.e. the number of positive eigenvalues less than ) as +, which is of the form /2 times a negative, bounded and left-continuous function of . This explains the reason why the modified Weyl-Berry conjecture does not hold generally forn2. In addition, we also obtain explicit upper and lower bounds on the second term ofN().  相似文献

The room-temperature decomposition of metastable phases in the Al-Zn alloys (from 25 to 50 wt. % Zn) was studied by the transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Metastable phases, i.e. G.-P. zones, R-and -phases, were grown at 200 °C and their decomposition into equilibrium -phase at 20 °C was investigated. Ageing times comprised 1 to 999 days.Both the decomposition mechanism and the rate of decomposition of coherent phases were found to be dependent on the particle sizes and their density reached at 200 °C. The local vacancy supersaturation around the -nucleus in a dense system of G.-P. zones leads to an enhanced growth rate of such nucleus and thus to the formation of one large -precipitate at the expense of several neighbouring G.-P. zones. The elastic stress field around this -particle promotes the further nucleation and growth of -precipitates and leads to their gradual spread throughout the matrix. The decomposition of intermediately sized Rprecipitates results in the development of -precipitates of comparable sizes nucleated on the array of misfit dislocations at the periphery of R-precipitates. The cooperative effect between neighbouring particles does not influence the decomposition of large R-precipitated which split then into several smaller -particles. The rate of G.-P. zones or R to -decomposition increases with the increasing sizes of transition precipitates and with the zinc content of the alloy. The kinetics of to -decomposition was found to be independent both on the annealing time at 200 °C and on the investigated alloy composition. This can be attributed to the constant density of misfit dislocations as nucleation sites for -precipitates along the -matrix interface and to the large mutual separation of -precipitates in all these alloys.In conclusion we would like to express our thanks to Doc. By accurate measurements of the lattice parameter of aluminium, silver and gold by K 1 radiation of copper and cobalt it is proved that the values determined by the radiation of cobalt are systematically lower than those determined by the radiation of copper. A semiquantitative analysis of the influence of spectral asymmetry on the determination of the parameter from X-ray diffraction lines is carried out and it is proved that this influence is defined not only by the index of asymmetry of the emission line but also by the broadening of the corresponding diffraction line. From this analysis it follows that the differences in the parameter measured when using radiation of cobalt and copper, can be explained by the influence of the spectral asymmetry of the emission lines K 1 of these radiations.

The frequencies of normal modes of vibration (for a wave vectork = 0) of cubic BaTiO3 are calculated. It is shown that the purely ion crystal BaTiO3 could not be stable and the covalent bonds are therefore calculated by introducing effective charges. It is found that the lowest optical frequency substantially depends on the magnitude of the Coulomb interactions and is much lower than the other optical frequencies. The results are used to interpret the infra-red spectra of BaTiO3.

A method, by means of which it is possible to reconstruct a potential on the basis of data on elastic scattering, is investigated for the case of scattering of nucleons on targets with spin 1. Formulas are given which express the relations between a phenomenological potential and the elements of the scattering matrix.

Condition are derived for the approximate focusing of diffraction lines in the chosen, relatively wide angular region, using the semi-focusing method with a flat sample, if a bent crystal monochromator is employed. The form of the absorption factor for a flat polycrystalline sample is derived for the case of uniform oscillation of the sample in the angular region ± around the axis of the camera.

The concentration and temperature dependence of emission and excitation spectra was measured on powder A1NEu phosphors. It was shown that A1N: Eu has two luminescent modifications which depend on the activator concentration. At low activator concentration the wide emission band is found in the blue-green region, while at high concentration it is in green region. The excitation spectra of A1NEu consist of wide bands extended from 40×103 cm–1 to 22 × × 103 cm–1. The emission and excitation spectra are interpreted as transitions between energy levels of Eu2+ ions (4f74f6 5d transitions). The structure of the Eu2+ luminescent centres and the temperature dependence of luminescence are discussed.The authors thank Dr. M.Polcarová for the RTG measurements and Mrs. I.Míková for the spectral analysis of the A1N: Eu samples.
