Some criteria for extreme points and strong U-points in Cesàro-Orlicz spaces are given. In consequence we find a Cesàro-Orlicz sequence space different from c0 which has no extreme points. Some examples show that in these spaces the notion of the strong U-point is essentially stronger than the notion of the extreme point. Various examples presented in this paper show that there are some differences between criteria for extreme points and strong U-points in Orlicz spaces and in Cesàro-Orlicz spaces. We also show that the uniqueness of the local best approximation needs the notion of SU-point, that is, the notion of the extreme point is not strong enough here.  相似文献

Orlicz function and sequence spaces unit balls of which have no extreme points are completely characterized for both (the Orlicz and the Luxemburg) norms. Their subspaces of order continuous elements, with the norms induced from the whole Orlicz spaces without extreme points in their unit balls are also characterized. The well-known spaces L1 and c0 with unit balls without extreme points are covered by our results. Moreover, a new example of a Banach space without extreme points in its unit ball is given (see Example 1). This is the subspace a(L1+L) of order continuous elements of the space L1+L equipped with the norm whenever 0<a<∞ and μ(T)>1/a.  相似文献

We establish the theory of Orlicz-Hardy spaces generated by a wide class of functions.The class will be wider than the class of all the N-functions.In particular,we consider the non-smooth atomic decomposition.The relation between Orlicz-Hardy spaces and their duals is also studied.As an application,duality of Hardy spaces with variable exponents is revisited.This work is different from earlier works about Orlicz-Hardy spaces H(Rn)in that the class of admissible functions is largely widened.We can deal with,for example,(r)≡(rp1(log(e+1/r))q1,0r 6 1,rp2(log(e+r))q2,r1,with p1,p2∈(0,∞)and q1,q2∈(.∞,∞),where we shall establish the boundedness of the Riesz transforms on H(Rn).In particular,is neither convex nor concave when 0p11p2∞,0p21p1∞or p1=p2=1 and q1,q20.If(r)≡r(log(e+r))q,then H(Rn)=H(logH)q(Rn).We shall also establish the boundedness of the fractional integral operators I of order∈(0,∞).For example,I is shown to be bounded from H(logH)1./n(Rn)to Ln/(n.)(log L)(Rn)for 0n.  相似文献

In this article we introduce the generalized lacunary difference sequence spaces [N_θ,M,Δ~m]_0,[N_θ,M,Δ~m]_1 and [N_θ,M,Δ~m]_∞using m~(th)- difference.We study their properties like completeness,solidness,symmetricity.Also we obtain some inclusion relations involving the spaces [N_θ,M,Δ~m]_0,[N_θ,M,Δ~m]_1 and[N_θ,M,Δ~m]_∞and the Cesàro summable and strongly Cesàro summable sequences.  相似文献

We prove the existence of equivalent polyhedral norms on a number of classes of non-separable spaces, the majority of which being of the form C(K). In particular, we obtain a complete characterization of those trees T, such that C0(T) admits an equivalent polyhedral norm.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a generalized vector-valued paranormed sequence space Np(Ekm,f,s) using modulus function f, where p=(pk) is a bounded sequence of positive real numbers such that infkpk>0,(Ek,qk) is a sequence of seminormed spaces with Ek+1Ek for each kN and s?0. We have also studied sequence space Np(Ekm,fr,s), where fr=f°f°f°,…,f (r-times composition of f with itself) and rN={1,2,3,…}. Results regarding completeness, K-space, normality, inclusion relations etc. are derived. Further, a study of multiplier of the set Np(Ek,f,s) is also made by choosing (Ek,‖·‖k) as sequence of normed algebras.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the problem of finding upper bounds of certain matrix operators such as Hausdorff, Nörlund matrix, weighted mean and summability on sequence spaces l p(w) and Lorentz sequence spaces d(w, p), which was recently considered in [9] and [10] and similarly to [14] by Josip Pecaric, Ivan Peric and Rajko Roki. An interpolation theorem for weak Orlicz spaces generalized by N-functions satisfying M Δ condition is given. It is proved to be true for weak Orlicz martingale spaces by weak atomic decomposition of weak Hardy martingale spaces. And applying the interpolation theorem, we obtain some embedding relationships among weak Orlicz martingale spaces. A Banach lattice E is called p-disjointly homogeneous  , 1≤p≤∞1p, when every sequence of pairwise disjoint normalized elements in E   has a subsequence equivalent to the unit vector basis of ?p?p. Employing methods from interpolation theory, we clarify which r.i. spaces on [0,1][0,1] are p  -disjointly homogeneous. In particular, for every 1<p<∞1<p< and any increasing concave function φ   on [0,1][0,1], which is not equivalent to neither 1 nor t, there exists a p-disjointly homogeneous r.i. space with the fundamental function φ  . Moreover, it is shown that given 1<p<∞1<p< and an increasing concave function φ with non-trivial dilation indices, there is a unique p-disjointly homogeneous space among all interpolation spaces between the Lorentz and Marcinkiewicz spaces associated with φ.  相似文献

It is proved that a weighted Orlicz sequence space ?M(w), equipped with Luxemburg or Amemiya norm has weak uniform normal structure iff ?M(w)≅hM(w) for wide class of weight sequences . An example is constructed, where M has not Δ2-condition but by choosing a suitable weight sequence limn→∞wn=∞ we get that ?M(w) has weak uniform normal structure.  相似文献

We first prove that if x is an element on the unit sphere of arbitrary Köthe space E, x is strickly positive μ-a.e. and x is an LM-point, then x is an UM-point. Criteria for lower and upper monotone points in Calderón-Lozanovskiǐ spaces E? are presented. Points of lower local uniform monotonicity and upper local uniform monotonicity in E? are also considered. We extend the Gustavsson–Peetre method to the context of N ‐tuples of Banach spaces. We give estimates for the norm of the interpolated operator. We consider singular integral operators with piecewise continuous coefficients on reflexive Orlicz spaces Lm(σ) which are generalizations of the Lebesgue spaces LP(σ), 1 < p < ∞. We suppose that σ belongs to a large class of Carleson curves, including curves with corners and cusps as well as curves that look locally like two logarithmic spirals scrolling up at the same point. For the singular integral operator associated with the Riemann boundary value problem with a piecewise continuous coefficient G, we establish a Fredholm criterion and an index formula in terms of the essential range of G complemented by spiralic horns depending on the Boyd indices of LM(σ) and contour properties. Our main result is a symbol calculus for the closed algebra of singular integral operators with piecewise continuous matrix - valued coefficients on LMn(σ).  相似文献

If the Poisson integral of the unit disc is replaced by its square root, it is known that normalized Poisson integrals of L p and weak L p boundary functions converge along approach regions wider than the ordinary nontangential cones, as proved by Rönning and the author, respectively. In this paper we characterize the approach regions for boundary functions in two general classes of Orlicz spaces. The first of these classes contains spaces L Φ having the property L ? L Φ L p , 1 ? p > ∞. The second contains spaces L Φ that resemble L p spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a new type of difference operator Δ m n for fixed m, n ∈ ℕ. We define the sequence spaces ℓ m n ), c m n ) and c 0 m n ) and study some topological properties of these spaces. We obtain some inclusion relations involving these sequence spaces.
