The proposed model and the properties obtained on the surface of velocity discontinuity are used to study two processes of plastic deformation: lateral extrusion and torsion of a hollow disk. The operation of a source of charged aerosol particles which consists of a supersonic nozzle, a corona-forming needle-shaped electrode, and a device for injecting liquid droplets into a gas flow is considered. A theoretical model for two-dimensional, two-phase flow in the nozzle is considered. The process of spanwise propagation of turbulence in a laminar boundary layer on a plate is numerically investigated. Three well-known turbulence models are considered. It is shown that the calculated values of the "turbulent wedge" angle are several times less than that observed experimentally. It is shown that a fracture in an elastic plate floating on the surface of a shallow liquid layer is a waveguide along which wave energy can be transported.
