In this work, Li2SnO3 has been synthesized by the sol–gel method using acetates of lithium and tin. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) has been applied to the precursor of Li2SnO3 to determine the suitable calcination temperature. The formation of the compound calcined at 800 °C for 9 h has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The Li2SnO3 is then pelletized and electrically characterized by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in the frequency range from 50 Hz to 1 MHz. The complex impedance spectra clearly show the dominating presence of the grain boundary effect on electrical properties whereas the complex modulus plots reveal two semicircles which are due to the grain (bulk) and grain boundary. The spectra of imaginary parts of both impedance and modulus versus frequency show the existence of peaks with the modulus plots exhibiting two peaks that are ascribed to the grain and grain boundary of the material. The peak maximum shifts to higher frequency with an increase in temperature and the broad nature of the peaks indicates the non-Debye nature of Li2SnO3. The activation energy associated with the dielectric relaxation obtained from the electrical impedance spectra is 0.67 eV. From the electric modulus spectra, the activation energies related to conductivity relaxation in the grain and grain boundary of Li2SnO3 are 0.59 and 0.69 eV, respectively. The conductivity–temperature relationship is thermally assisted and obeys the Arrhenius rule with the activation energy of 0.66 eV. The conduction mechanism of Li2SnO3 is via hopping.  相似文献

The lead pyrophosphate, Pb2P2O7, compound was prepared by conventional solid-state reaction and identified by X-ray powder diffractometer. Pb2P2O7 has a triclinic structure whose electrical properties were studied using impedance spectroscopy technique. Both impedance and modulus analysis exhibit the grain and grain boundary contribution to the electrical response of the sample. The temperature dependence of the bulk and grain boundary conductivity were found to obey the Arrhenius law with activation energies E g = 0.66 eV and E gb = 0.67 eV, respectively. The scaling behavior of the imaginary part of the complex impedance suggests that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at various temperatures.  相似文献

AC impedance spectroscopy technique has been used to study electrical properties of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 (BLT) ceramic. Complex impedance plots were fitted with three depressed semicircles, which are attributed to crystalline layer, plate boundary and grain boundary and all three were found to comprise of universal capacitance nature [C = C0w n−1]. Grain boundary resistance and capacitance evaluated from complex impedance plots have larger values than that of plate boundary and crystalline layer. The activation energies (E a) for DC-conductance in grain boundary, plate boundary and crystalline layer are 0.68 eV, 0.89 eV and 0.89 eV, respectively. Relaxation activation energies calculated from impedance plots showed similar values, 0.81 eV and 0.80 eV for crystalline layer and plate boundary, respectively. These activation energy values are found to be consistent with the E a value of oxygen vacancies in perovskite materials. A mechanism is offered to explain the generation of oxygen vacancies in BLT ceramic and its role in temperature dependence of DC-conductance study.   相似文献

The KFeP2O7 compound was prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction. The sample was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. The AC electrical conductivity and the dielectric relaxation properties of this compound have been investigated by means of impedance spectroscopy measurements over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures, 200 Hz–5 MHz and 553–699 K, respectively. Both impedance and modulus analysis exhibit the grain and grain boundary contribution to the electrical response of the sample. The temperature dependence of the bulk and grain boundary conductivity were found to obey the Arrhenius law with activation energies Eg?=?0.94 (3)?eV and Egb?=?0.89 (1)?eV. The grain-and-grain boundary conductivities at 573 K are 1.07?×?10?4 and 1.16?×?10?5?1 cm?1). The scaling behavior of the imaginary part of the complex impedance suggests that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at various temperatures. The near value of the activation energies obtained from the equivalent circuit, conductivity data, and analysis of M″ confirms that the transport is through ion hopping mechanism.  相似文献

Microstructures and impedance characteristics of chemical-solution-derived Bi3.15Nd0.85Ti3O12 thin films were studied as functions of temperature. A dielectric anomaly was found at around 450°C, corresponding to the paraelectric to ferroelectric transition. Via complex impedance studies, grain and grain boundary contributions to the impedance were separated. The resistance of grain and grain boundaries is found governed by the same kind of space charge with an activation energy around 1.1 eV, close to that of oxygen vacancies in perovskite ferroelectrics. The low temperature ac conductance of BNdT thin films shows a frequency dispersion, which can also be ascribed to space charges mainly due to oxygen vacancies. The results were compared with SrBi2Ta2O9 in terms of oxygen vacancy conductivity.  相似文献

The Rb3(HSeO4)2.5(H2PO4)0.5 compound was prepared and its thermal behavior and electric properties were investigated. The thermogravimetry (TGA) analysis and the differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) show the presence of a structural phase transition of the title compounds at 374 K which is confirmed by the variation of fp and σdc as a function of temperature. The complex impedance of the Rb3(HSeO4)2.5(H2PO4)0.5 compound has been investigated in the temperature range of 295–453 K and in the frequency range 209 Hz–1 MHz. The impedance plots show semicircle arcs at different temperatures, and an electrical equivalent circuit has been proposed to explain the impedance results. The circuits consist of the parallel combination of bulk resistance Rp and constant phase elements CPE1 in series with fractal capacity CPE2. The frequency dependence of the conductivity is interpreted in terms of Jonscher’s law. The conductivity dc follows the Arrhenius relation. The near value of activation energies obtained from the analysis of modulus, conductivity data, and circuit equivalent confirm that the transport is through the ion hopping mechanism, dominated by the motion of the H+ proton in the structure of the investigated materials.  相似文献

A lithium yttrium diphosphate LiYP2O7 was prepared by a solid-state reaction method. Rietveld refinement of the X-ray diffraction pattern suggests the formation of the single phase desired compound with monoclinic structure at room temperature. The infrared and Raman spectrum of this compound was interpreted on the basis of P2O7 4? vibrations. The AC conductivity was measured in the frequency range from 100 to 106 Hz and temperatures between 473 and 673 K using impedance spectroscopy technique. The obtained results were analyzed by fitting the experimental data to the equivalent circuit model. The Cole–Cole diagram determined complex impedance for different temperatures. The angular frequency dependence of the AC conductivity is found to obey Jonscher’s relation. The temperature dependence of σ AC could be described in terms of Arrhenius relation with two activation energies, 0.87 eV in region I and 1.36 eV in region II. The study of temperature variation of the exponent(s) reveals two conduction models: the AC conduction dependence upon temperature is governed by the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model in region I (T < 540 K) and non-overlapping small polaron tunneling (NSPT) model in region II (T > 540 K). The near value of activation energies obtained from the equivalent circuit and DC conductivity confirms that the transport is through ion hopping mechanism dominated by the motion of the Li+ ion in the structure of the investigated material.  相似文献

Complex impedance analysis of a valence-compensated perovskite ceramic oxide Na1/2Sm1/2TiO3, prepared by a mixed oxide (solid-state reaction) method, has been carried out. The formation of single-phase material was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies, and it was found to be an orthorhombic phase at room temperature. In a scanning electron microscope, grains separated by well-defined boundaries are visible, which is in good agreement with that of impedance analysis. Alternating current impedance measurements were made over a wide temperature range (31–400 °C) in an air atmosphere. Complex impedance and modulus plots helped to separate out the contributions of grain and grain boundaries to the overall polarization or electrical behavior. The physical structure of the samples was visualized most prominently at higher temperatures (275 °C) from the Nyquist plots showing inter- and intragranular impedance present in the material. The frequency dependence of electrical data is also analyzed in the framework of the conductivity and modulus formalisms. The bulk resistance, evaluated from the impedance spectrum, was observed to decrease with rise in temperature, showing a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance-type behavior like that of semiconductors. The modulus mechanism indicates the non-Debye type of conductivity relaxation in the materials, which is supported by the impedance data. The lithium dihydrogen phosphate LiH2PO4 has been investigated by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electrical impedance spectroscopy. The Rietveld refinements based on the XRD patterns show that the compound is crystallized in the orthorhombic system with Pna21 space group, and the refined unit cell parameters are a = 6.2428 Å, b = 7.6445 Å, and c = 6.873 Å. The electrical properties were studied using complex impedance spectroscopy as a function of frequency (104–107 Hz) at various temperatures (300–400 K). The Nyquist plots are well fitted to an equivalent circuit consisting of a series of combination of grains and inhomogeneous electrode surface effect. The frequency dependence of the conductivity is interpreted in terms of Jonscher’s law. Moreover, the near value of the activation energies obtained from the equivalent circuit and analysis of M″ confirms that the transport is through ion hopping mechanism dominated by the motion of the proton in the structure of the investigated material.  相似文献

The Na2WO4 compound has been obtained by the conventional solid-state reaction and characterized by X -ay powder diffraction. The title material crystallizes in the cubic system with Fd-3m space group. The electrical properties of the compound have been studied using complex impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range 200 Hz–5 MHz and temperature range 586–679 K. Two semicircles are observed in impedance plot indicating the presence of two relaxation processes in the compound associated with the grain and grain boundary. The relaxation behavior of the grain and grain boundary of the Na2WO4 are also obtained from the analyzed electrical modulus data. AC conductivity measured follows the power-law dependence σAC~ωs typical for charge transport. Therefore, the experimental results are analyzed with various theoretical models. Temperature dependence of the power law exponent s strongly suggests that tunneling of large polarons is the dominant transport process. The mechanism of conduction is probably due from the displacements of the Na+ ion in the tunnel-type cavities along [111] direction.  相似文献

Proton-conducting solid polymer blend electrolytes based on methylcellulose-polyvinyl alcohol:ammonium nitrate (MC-PVA:NH4NO3) were prepared by the solution cast technique. The structural and electrical properties of the samples were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and electrical impedance (EI) spectroscopy. The shifting and change in the intensity of FTIR bands of the electrolyte samples confirm the complex formation between the MC-PVA polymer blend and the NH4NO3 added salt. The observed broadening in the XRD pattern of the doped samples reveals the increase of the amorphous fraction of polymer electrolyte samples. The increase in electrical conductivity of polymer electrolyte samples with increasing salt concentration attributed to the formation of charge-transfer complexes, and to increase in the amorphous domains. A maximum ionic conductivity of about 7.39 × 10?5 S cm?1 was achieved at room temperature for the sample incorporating 20 wt% of NH4NO3. The DC conductivity of the present polymer system exhibits Arrhenius-type dependence with temperature. The decrease in the values of activation energies with increasing salt concentration indicates the ease mobility of ions. The decrease in dielectric constant with increasing frequency was observed at all temperatures. Optical properties such as absorption edge, optical band gap, and tail of localized state were estimated for polymer blend and their electrolyte films. It was found that the optical band gap values shifted towards lower photon energy from 6.06 to 4.75 eV by altering the NH4NO3 salt content.  相似文献

Synthesis and structural characterization by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method, thermal behavior, and electrical proprieties are given for a new compound with a superprotonic phase transition Cs2(HSO4)(H2AsO4). The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with the P21/n space group. The structure contains zigzag chains of hydrogen-bonded anion tetrahedra that extend in the [010] direction. Each tetrahedron is additionally linked to a tetrahedron neighboring chain to give a planar structure with hydrogen-bonded sheets lying parallel to (10ī). The existence of O–H and (S/As)–O bonds in the structure at room temperature has been confirmed by IR and Raman spectroscopy in the frequency ranges 4000–400 cm?1and 1200–50 cm?1, respectively. Differential scanning calorimetry analysis of the superprotonic transition in Cs2(HSO4)(H2AsO4) showed that the transformation to high temperature phase occurs at 417 K by one-step process. Thermal decomposition of the product takes place at much higher temperatures, with an onset of approximately 534 K. The superprotonic transition was also studied by impedance and modulus spectroscopy techniques. The conductivity in the high temperature phase at 423 K is 1.58 × 10?4 Ω?1 cm?1, and the activation energy for the proton transport is 0.28 eV. The conductivity relaxation parameters associated with the high disorder protonic conduction have been examined from analysis of the M”/M”max spectrum measured in a wide temperature range. Transport properties of this material appear to be due to the proton hopping mechanism.  相似文献

A few compositions in the system Ba1???x La x SnO3 (x?=?0.00, 0.01, 0.05, and 0.10) have been synthesized via the solid state ceramic route. The synthesized powders have been characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transformation infrared, thermogravimetrical analysis, and differential thermal analysis techniques. The powder X-ray diffraction pattern of the samples confirms the formation of a single-phase solid solution only up to 0.50?≤?x. It was found that all the samples have a cubic crystal structure. The electrical properties of La-modified BaSnO3 were studied using ac impedance spectroscopy technique over a wide range of temperatures (50–650 °C) in the frequency range of 10 Hz–13 MHz. The complex impedance plots above 300 °C show that total impedance is due to the contributions of grain and grain boundaries. The resistance of these contributions has been determined. Variation of these resistances with temperature shows the presence of two different regions with different slopes. The nature of the variation of conductivity of the grain and grain boundaries is different in different regions. Based on the value of activation energy, it is proposed that conduction via hopping of doubly ionized oxygen vacancies (VO ??) is taking place in the temperature region of 300–450 °C, whereas in the temperature region of 450–650 °C, it is due to proton, i.e., OH? ions, hopping.  相似文献

The current-voltage characteristics of Ca4Ga2S7: Eu3+ single crystals are measured for the first time, and the processes affecting these characteristics are analyzed theoretically. It is demonstrated that Ca4Ga2S7: Eu3+ single crystals are high-resistance semiconductors with a resistivity of ~109 Ω cm and a relative permittivity of 10.55. The electrical properties of the studied materials are governed by traps with activation energies of 0.13 and 0.19 eV and a density ranging from 9.5×1014 to 2.7×1015 cm?3. The one-carrier injection is observed in weak electric fields. In electric fields with a strength of more than 4×103 V/cm, traps undergo thermal field ionization according to the Pool-Frenkel mechanism. At low temperatures and strong fields (160 K and 5×104 V/cm), the electric current is most likely due to hopping conduction by charge carriers over local levels in the band gap in the vicinity of the Fermi level.  相似文献

LiSn2P3O12 with sodium (Na) super ionic conductor (NASICON)-type rhombohedral structure was successfully obtained at low sintering temperature, 600 °C via citric acid-assisted sol-gel method. However, when the sintering temperature increased to 650 °C, triclinic structure coexisted with the rhombohedral structure as confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Conductivity–temperature dependence of all samples were studied using impedance spectroscopy in the temperature range 30 to 500 °C, and bulk, grain boundary and total conductivity increased as the temperature increased. The highest bulk conductivity found was 3.64?×?10?5 S/cm at 500 °C for LiSn2P3O12 sample sintered at 650 °C, and the lowest bulk activation energy at low temperature was 0.008 eV, showing that sintering temperature affect the conductivity value. The voltage stability window for LiSn2P3O12 sample sintered at 600 °C at ambient temperature was up to 4.4 V. These results indicated the suitability of the LiSn2P3O12 to be exploiting further for potential applications as solid electrolytes in electrochemical devices.  相似文献

The AC conductivity of the LiCaPO4 compound has been measured in the temperature range 634–755 K and the frequency range 300 Hz–5 MHz. The impedance data were fitted to an equivalent circuit consisting of series combination of grains, grains boundary, and electrode elements. Dielectric data were analyzed using complex electrical modulus M* at various temperatures. The modulus plots are characterized by the presence of two relaxation peaks thermally activated. The activation energies obtained from the analysis of M″ (0.90 eV) and conductivity data (0.94 eV) are very close, revealing an ionic hopping mechanism.  相似文献

Fast oxide-ion conductors La2Mo2-xWxO9 (x = 0–1) have been prepared using mechanochemical activation (MA) of starting oxides in a high-power planetary ball mill. Studies of La2Mo2-xWxO9 genesis and structural properties using thermal analysis, XRD, SEM, IR, and Raman spectroscopy have revealed that MA results in the formation of an amorphous precursor, while the cubic β-phase is formed after calcination at 700–900 °C. Due to a high dispersion of powders, high-density pellets of W-LAMOX ceramics have been obtained already after sintering at 950 °C. Their electrical conductivity measured by the impedance spectroscopy depends on the W concentration being sufficiently high (up to 5.6?10?3 S/cm at 630 °C) at temperatures below 650 °C.  相似文献

The Ac electrical conductivity and the dielectric relaxation properties of the [(C3H7)4N]2Cd2Cl6 polycrystalline sample have been investigated by means of impedance spectroscopy measurements over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures, 209 Hz–5 MHz and 361–418 K, respectively. The purpose is to make a difference between the electrical and dielectric properties of the polycrystalline sample and single crystal. Besides, a detailed analysis of the impedance spectrum suggests that the electrical properties of the material are strongly temperature-dependent. Plots of (Z" versus Z') are well fitted to an equivalent circuit model consisting of a series combination of grains and grains boundary elements. Moreover, the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity in the different phases follows the Arrhenius law and the frequency dependence of σ (ω) follows the Jonscher’s universal dynamic law. Furthermore, the modulus plots can be characterized by full width at half height or in terms of a nonexperiential decay function φ(t) = exp(t/t)β. Finally, the imaginary part of the permittivity constant is analyzed with the Cole–Cole formalism.  相似文献

The recently discovered compound LiFeVO4 was prepared by solid-state reaction at 570 °C during a 7-h period. The X-ray diffraction pattern revealed an orthorhombic crystal structure. Thermogravimetric measurements revealed a reversible mechanism which was attributed to absorption–desorption of humidity. Impedance spectroscopy measurements were carried out at 25 °C steps in the temperature range from 25 to 500 °C and equivalent circuits were drawn to fit the impedance measurement results at each temperature level. The elements of the equivalent circuits were assigned to bulk, grain boundary, and along grain boundary conductivity. All three conduction mechanisms were found to be humidity sensitive. Arrhenius plots were plotted for the bulk and grain boundary conductivity processes. The activation energy for the bulk conductivity process was calculated to be 0.25 eV over the temperature range from 175 to 500 °C and the activation energy for the grain boundary conductivity process was calculated to be 0.41 eV from 300 to 500 °C and 0.20 eV from 175 to 275 °C. An explanation for the existence of these two grain boundary activation energies is attempted. The dependence of the material conductivity mechanisms on humidity suggests that LiFeVO4 could be used as a humidity sensor.  相似文献

Polycrystalline (Na0.5Sb0.5)TiO3 was prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction method. An XRD analysis indicated the formation of a single-phase monoclinic structure. Complex impedance studies revealed the presence of grain boundary effects from 300 °C onwards. Also, the dielectric relaxation in the system was found to be of a non-Debye type. The ac conductivity data were used to evaluate the density of states at the Fermi level, the minimum hopping length and activation energy of the compound. The dc electrical and thermal conductivities of grain and grain boundary have been assessed. The correlated barrier hopping model was found to successfully explain the mechanism of charge transport in (Na0.5Sb0.5)TiO3. PACS 72.20.Ee; 77.22.Ch; 77.22.Gm; 77.84.Dy; 81.05.Je  相似文献
