THE FIXED POINT AND EIGENELEMENT OF SUM AND PRODUCT ABOUT CONCAVE AND CONVEX OPERATORS

In this paper, we obtain the sufficient conditions under which there exists the fixed point of sum and product about a concave and -α convex operators in the positive cone of linear semi-order space, and the iterative procedure and error estimate can be given. The relation between eigenvalue and eigenelement will also be studied in this paper.     

STICTION AND ANTI—STICTION IN MEMS AND NEMS

Stiction in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) has been a major failure mode ever since the advent of surface micromachining in the 80s of the last century due to large surfacearea-to-volume ratio. Even now when solutions to this problem are emerging, such as self-assembled monolayer (SAM) and other measures, stiction remains one of the most catastrophic failure modes in MEMS. A review is presented in this paper on stiction and anti-stiction in MEMS and nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). First, some new experimental observations of stiction in radio frequency (RF) MEMS switch and micromachined accelerometers are presented. Second, some criteria for stiction of microstructures in MEMS and NEMS due to surface forces (such as capillary, electrostatic, van der Waals, Casimir forces, etc.) are reviewed. The influence of surface roughness and environmental conditions (relative humidity and temperature) on stiction are also discussed. As hydrophobic films, the self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) turn out able to prevent release-related stiction effectively. The anti-stiction of SAMs in MEMS is reviewed in the last part. SIMILAR THEORY AND THE APPLICABLE RANGES OF ONE-EQUATION AND TWO-EQUATION MODELS

Here, we are discussing the applicable ranges of one-equation and two-equationturbulence models with the viewpoint of similar theory. The criterions of determining theapplicable ranges of these models are given.     

DISCONTINUOUS AND IMPULSIVE EXCITATION

In this paper,we study the solution of differential equation with Dirac function andHeaviside function.arising from discontinuous and impulsive excitation.Firstly,accordingto the theory of differential equation,we suggest x(t)=x_1(t) x_2(t)H(t-a);then wederive the equation of x_1(t)and x_2(t) by terms of property of distribution,and by solvingx_1(t)and x_2(t)we obtain x(t);finally,we make a thorough investigation about periodicimpulsive parametric excitation.

SINO-GERMAN WORKSHOP ON CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL INTERACTIONS BETWEEN PARTICLES AND FLUIDS

Supported by the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion, and organized jointly by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the German Research Foundation (DFG), the third Sino-German workshop on particle fluid systems was held on Oct. 24-312 004 in Beijing, China, following the two previous successful workshops held on Aug. 30-31,1999 in Hamburg,Germany (Li and Werther, Chem. Eng. Technol., 23(4), 378 2000) and May 18-19, 2001 in Beijing, China (Li, Ge,Werther and Bruhns, Chem. Eng. Technol., 24(11), 1097,2001). Thirty-one scientists from China, Germany, Japan and The Netherlands came together for interdisciplinary discussion over the core problem of multi-phase reaction systems in the name of “Chemical and Physical Interactions between Particles and Fluids”.

EXISTENCE AND COMPARISON RESULTS FOR SOLUTIONS OF RANDOM INTEGRAL AND DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

This paper is the continuation of.In this paper,we give another criteria of theexistence of solutions for nonlinear random Volterra integral.A comparison theorem andthe existence of random extremal solutions are also obtained by using the notion of orderingwith respect to a cone.Our theorems generalize the corresponding results of Vaughanand Lakshmikantham.
