In this paper, we study the difference equation $$x_{n+1}=p+\frac{x_{n-1}}{x_n}, \quad n=0,1,\ldots, $$ where initial values x ?1,x 0∈(0,+∞) and 0<p<1, and obtain the set of all initial values (x ?1,x 0)∈(0,+∞)×(0,+∞) such that the positive solutions $\{x_{n}\}_{n=-1}^{\infty}$ are bounded. This answers the Open problem 4.8.11 proposed by Kulenovic and Ladas (Dynamics of Second Order Rational Difference Equations, with Open Problems and Conjectures, 2002).  相似文献

We study, firstly, the dynamics of the difference equation $x_{n + 1} = \alpha + \frac{{x_n^p }}{{x_{n - 1}^p }}$ , withp ∈ (0,1) and α [0, ∞). Then, we generalize our results to the (k + 1)th order difference equation $x_{n + 1} = \alpha + \frac{{x_n^p }}{{x_{n - k}^p }}$ ,k = 2, 3,... with positive initial conditions.  相似文献

We investigate the boundedness nature of positive solutions of the difference equation $$ x_{n + 1} = max\left\{ {\frac{{A_n }} {{X_n }},\frac{{B_n }} {{X_{n - 2} }}} \right\},n = 0,1,..., $$ where {A n } n=0 and {B n } n=0 are periodic sequences of positive real numbers.  相似文献

The main objective of this paper is to study the boundedness character, the periodic character and the global stability of the positive solutions of the following difference equation $x_{n + 1} = \frac{{\alpha x_n + \beta x_{n - 1} + \gamma x_{n - 2} + \delta x_{n - 3} }}{{Ax_n + Bx_{n - 1} + Cx_{n - 2} + Dx_{n - 3} }},n = 0,1,2.....$ where the coefficientsA, B, C, D, α, β, γ, δ, and the initial conditionsx -3,x -2,x -1,x 0 are arbitrary positive real numbers.  相似文献

The variety \(\mathfrak{u}_{m,n} \) is defined by the system of n-ary operations ωi,..., ωm, the system of m-ary operations ?i,..., ?n, 1≤ m ≤ n, and the system of identities $$\begin{gathered} x_1 ...x_n \omega _1 ...x_1 ...x_n \omega _m \varphi _i = x_i (i = 1,...,n), \hfill \\ x_1 ...x_m \varphi _1 ...x_1 ...x_m \varphi _n \omega _j = x_j (i = 1,...,m), \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ It is proved in this paper that the subalgebra U of the free product \(\Pi _{i \in I}^* A_i \) of the algebras Ai (i ε I) can be expanded as the free product of nonempty intersections U ∩ Ai (i ε I) and a free algebra.  相似文献

The vector space \({\otimes^{n}\mathbb{C}^2}\) upon which the XXZ Hamiltonian with n spins acts bears the structure of a module over both the Temperley–Lieb algebra \({{\rm TL}_{n}(\beta = q + q^{-1})}\) and the quantum algebra \({{\rm U}_{q} \mathfrak{sl}_2}\) . The decomposition of \({\otimes^{n}\mathbb{C}^2}\) as a \({{\rm U}_{q} \mathfrak{sl}_2}\) -module was first described by Rosso (Commun Math Phys 117:581–593, 1988), Lusztig (Cont Math 82:58–77, 1989) and Pasquier and Saleur (Nucl Phys B 330:523–556, 1990) and that as a TL n -module by Martin (Int J Mod Phys A 7:645–673, 1992) (see also Read and Saleur Nucl Phys B 777(3):316–351, 2007; Gainutdinov and Vasseur Nucl Phys B 868:223–270, 2013). For q generic, i.e. not a root of unity, the TL n -module \({\otimes^{n}\mathbb{C}^2}\) is known to be a sum of irreducible modules. We construct the projectors (idempotents of the algebra of endomorphisms of \({\otimes^{n}\mathbb{C}^2}\) ) onto each of these irreducible modules as linear combinations of elements of \({{\rm U}_{q} \mathfrak{sl}_2}\) . When q = q c is a root of unity, the TL n -module \({\otimes^{n}\mathbb{C}^2}\) (with n large enough) can be written as a direct sum of indecomposable modules that are not all irreducible. We also give the idempotents projecting onto these indecomposable modules. Their expression now involves some new generators, whose action on \({\otimes^{n}\mathbb{C}^2}\) is that of the divided powers \({(S^{\pm})^{(r)} = \lim_{q \rightarrow q_{c}} (S^{\pm})^r/[r]!}\) .  相似文献

For a holomorphic proper map F from the ball $\mathbb{B}^{n+1}$ into $\mathbb{B}^{N+1}$ that is C 3 smooth up to the boundary, the image $M=F(\partial\mathbb{B}^{n})$ is an immersed CR submanifold in the sphere $\partial \mathbb{B}^{N+1}$ on which some second fundamental forms II M and $\mathit{II}^{CR}_{M}$ can be defined. It is shown that when 4??n+1<N+1??4n?3, F is linear fractional if and only if $\mathit{II}_{M} - \mathit{II}_{M}^{CR} \equiv 0$ .  相似文献

The boundedness, global attractivity, oscillatory and asymptotic periodicity of the positive solutions of the difference equation of the form $$x_{n + 1} = \alpha + \frac{{x_{n - 1}^p }}{{x_n^p }}, n = 0,1,...$$ is investigated, where all the coefficients are nonnegative real numbers.  相似文献

The moduli space of smooth curves admits a beautiful compactification $\mathcal{M}_{g,n} \subset \overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,n}$ by the moduli space of stable curves. In this paper, we undertake a systematic classification of alternate modular compactifications of $\mathcal{M}_{g,n}$ . Let $\mathcal{U}_{g,n}$ be the (non-separated) moduli stack of all n-pointed reduced, connected, complete, one-dimensional schemes of arithmetic genus g. When g=0, $\mathcal{U}_{0,n}$ is irreducible and we classify all open proper substacks of $\mathcal{U}_{0,n}$ . When g≥1, $\mathcal{U}_{g,n}$ may not be irreducible, but there is a unique irreducible component $\mathcal{V}_{g,n} \subset\mathcal{U}_{g,n}$ containing $\mathcal{M}_{g,n}$ . We classify open proper substacks of $\mathcal {V}_{g,n}$ satisfying a certain stability condition.  相似文献

Our aim in this paper is to investigate the global attractivity of the recursive sequence $$x_{n + 1} = \frac{{\alpha - \beta x_{n - k} }}{{\gamma + x_n }},$$ where α, β, γ >0 andk=1,2,… We show that the positive equilibrium point of the equation is a global attractor with a basin that depends on certain conditions posed on the coefficients.  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,k} $ be the family of linear subspaces of ?n given by all equations of the form $\varepsilon _1 x_{i_1 } = \varepsilon _2 x_{i_2 } = \cdot \cdot \cdot \varepsilon _k x_{i_k } ,$ for 1 ≤ < ? ? ? < i ki and $\left( {\varepsilon _1 ,...,\varepsilon _k } \right)\varepsilon \left\{ { + 1, - 1} \right\}^k $ Also let ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h} $ be ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,k} $ enlarged by the subspaces $x_{j_1 } = x_{j_2 } = \cdot \cdot \cdot x_{j_h } = 0,$ for 1 ≤. The special cases ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,2,1} $ and ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} $ are well known as the reflection hyperplane arrangements corresponding to the Coxeter groups of type B nand D n respectively. In this paper we study combinatorial and topological properties of the intersection lattices of these subspace arrangements. Expressions for their Möbius functions and characteristic polynomials are derived. Lexicographic shellability is established in the case of ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} 1 \leqslant h < k$ , which allows computation of the homology of its intersection lattice and the cohomology groups of the manifold $\begin{gathered} {\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} \\ M_{n,k,h,} = {\mathbb{R}}^n \backslash \bigcup {{\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} } \\ \end{gathered} $ . For instance, it is shown that $H^d \left( {M_{n,k,k - 1} } \right)$ is torsion-free and is nonzero if and only if d = t(k ? 2) for some $t,0 \leqslant t \leqslant \left[ {{n \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {n k}} \right. \kern-0em} k}} \right]$ . Torsion-free cohomology follows also for the complement in ?nof the complexification ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h}^C ,1 \leqslant h < k$ .  相似文献

In this paper we consider the difference equation $$x_{n + 1} = \frac{{a + bx_{n - k} - cx_{n - m} }}{{1 + g(x_{n - 1} )}},$$ wherea, b, c are nonegative real numbers,k, l, m are nonnegative integers andg(x) is a nonegative real function. The oscillatory and periodic character, the boundedness and the stability of positive solutions of the equation is investigated. The existence and nonexistence of two-period positive solutions are investigated in details. In the last section of the paper we consider a generalization of the equation.  相似文献

For each n let ${Y^{(n)}_t}$ be a continuous time symmetric Markov chain with state space ${n^{-1} \mathbb{Z}^d}$ . Conditions in terms of the conductances are given for the convergence of the ${Y^{(n)}_t}$ to a symmetric Markov process Y t on ${\mathbb{R}^d}$ . We have weak convergence of $\{{Y^{(n)}_t: t \leq t_0\}}$ for every t 0 and every starting point. The limit process Y has a continuous part and may also have jumps.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{T}_{n}$ be the semigroup of all full transformations on the finite set X n ={1,2,…,n}. For 1≤rn, set $\mathcal {T}(n, r)=\{ \alpha\in\mathcal{T}_{n} | \operatorname{rank}(\alpha)\leq r\}$ . In this note we show that, for 2≤rn?2, any maximal regular subsemigroup of the semigroup $\mathcal{T} (n,r)$ is idempotent generated, but this may not happen in the semigroup $\mathcal{T}(n, n-1)$ .  相似文献

The 155 points of the Grassmannian $G_{1,4,2}$ of lines of PG (4, 2) = $\mathbb{P}V\left( {5,2} \right)$ are those points $x \in {\text{PG}}\left( {{\text{9,2}}} \right) = \mathbb{P}\left( { \wedge {}^2V\left( {5,2} \right)} \right)$ which satisfy a certain quintic equation Q(x) = 0. (The quintic polynomial Q is given explicitly in Shaw and Gordon [3].) A projective flat X $ \subset $ PG (9, 2) will be termed odd or even according as X intersects $G_{1,4,2}$ in an odd or even number of points. Let $Q^\ddag \left( {x_1 ,...,x_5 } \right)$ denote the alternating quinquelinear form obtained by completely polarizing Q. We define the associate Y = X # of a r-flat X $ \subset $ PG (9, 2) by $$Y = \left\{ {y \in {\text{PG}}\left( {n{\text{,2}}} \right)\left| {Q^\ddag \left( {x_1 ,x_{2,} ,x_3 ,x_4 ,y} \right)} \right. = 0,\quad {\text{for}}\;{\text{all}}\,x_1 ,x_{2,} ,x_3 ,x_4 \in X} \right\}.$$ . Because $Q^\ddag$ is quinquelinear, the associate X # of an r-flat X is an s-flat for some s. The cases where r = 4 are of particular interest: if X is an odd 4-flat then X $ \subseteq$ X # while if X is an even 4-flat then X # is necessarily also a 4-flat which is moreover disjoint from X. We give an example of an odd 4-flat X which is self-associate: X # = X. An example of an even 4-flat X such that $\left( {X^\# } \right)^\#$ = X is provided by any 4-flat X which is external to $G_{1,4,2}$ . However, it appears that the two possibilities just illustrated, namely X # = X for an odd 4-flat and $\left( {X^\# } \right)^\#$ = X for an even 4-flat, are the exception rather than the rule. Indeed, we provide examples of odd 4-flats for which X # = PG (9, 2) and of even 4-flats for which ${X^{\# \# \# } }$ = X.  相似文献

In this article, we study the global and asymptotic properties of the solutions of the difference equation $$x_{n+1}=Ax_{n}+Bx_{n-k}+(\beta x_{n}+\gamma x_{n-k})/(Cx_{n}+Dx_{n-k}),\quad n=0,1,2,\ldots,$$ where the initial conditions x ?k ,…,x ?1,x 0 are arbitrary positive real numbers and the coefficients A,B,C,D,β and γ are positive constants, while k is a positive integer number. Some numerical examples will be given to illustrate our results.  相似文献

We study the Weinstein equation $$\Delta u - \frac{k}{{x}_{2}} \frac{\partial}{\partial{x}_{2}} + \frac{l}{x^{2}_{2}}u = 0$$ , on the upper half space ${\mathbb{R}^3_{+} = \{ (x_{0}, x_{1}, x_{2}) \in \mathbb{R}^{3} | x_2 > 0\}}$ in case ${4l \leq (k + 1)^{2}}$ . If l =  0 then the operator ${x^{2k}_{2} (\Delta - \frac{k}{x_{2}} \frac{\partial}{\partial{x}_{2}})}$ is the Laplace- Beltrami operator of the Riemannian metric ${ds^2 = x^{-2k}_{2} (\sum^{2}_{i = 0} dx^{2}_{i})}$ . The general case ${\mathbb{R}^{n}_{+}}$ has been studied earlier by the authors, but the results are improved in case ${\mathbb{R}^3_{+}}$ . If k =  1 then the Riemannian metric is the hyperbolic distance of Poincaré upper half-space. The Weinstein equation is connected to the axially symmetric potentials. We compute solutions of the Weinstein equation depending only on the hyperbolic distance and x 2. The solutions of the Weinstein equation form a socalled Brelot harmonic space and therefore it is known that they satisfy the mean value properties with respect to the harmonic measure. However, without using the theory of Brelot harmonic spaces, we present the explicit mean value properties which give a formula for a harmonic measure evaluated in the center point of the hyperbolic ball. Earlier these results were proved only for k =  1 and l =  0 or k =  1 and l =  1. We also compute the fundamental solutions. The main tools are the hyperbolic metric and its invariance properties. In the consecutive papers, these results are applied to find explicit kernels for k-hypermonogenic functions that are higher dimensional generalizations of complex holomorphic functions.  相似文献

In this paper, two-dimensional convolutional codes constituted by sequences in $(\mathbb F ^n)^{\mathbb{Z }^{2}}$ where $\mathbb F $ is a finite field, are considered. In particular, we restrict to codes with rate $\frac{1}{n}$ and we investigate the problem of minimal dimension for realizations of such codes by separable Roesser models. The encoders which allow to obtain such minimal realizations, called R-minimal encoders, are characterized.  相似文献
