We studied the electronic structure of the Sr3Fe2O7 compound using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The charge-transfer satellites in the Fe 2p XPS spectra were analyzed using standard cluster model calculations. The analysis indicates that Sr3Fe2O7 is in the negative charge-transfer regime, and that the ground state is dominated by the configuration (where denotes an O 2p hole in the oxygen band). These results are similar to those found in the related SrFeO3 and Sr2FeO4 compounds. The band gap of the Sr3Fe2O7 compound is split off by the relatively large value of the p-d transfer integral Tσ. The lowest lying excitations are and consequently the band gap is of the p-p type. The band gap in the Srn+1FenO3n+1 series can be understood taking into account the trend in the O 2p bandwidths.  相似文献

The structural, transport and electron spin resonance properties of bulk and nanosized La0.875Sr0.125MnO3 prepared by a sol-gel method have been investigated. The bulk sample has an orthorhombic structure and a ferromagnetic insulating ground state. The ESR spectra indicate the coexistence of the ferromagnetic insulating and ferromagnetic metallic phases below TC. In addition to a sharp peak in the vicinity of TC, another sharp peak close to is clearly observed in the intensity of the spectra, which may be correlated with the structural transition and orbital ordering at this temperature. For the nanosized sample, a drastically different behavior is found. With a rhombohedral structure down to 70 K, the nanosized sample shows a ferromagnetic metallic ground state. The ESR studies reveal the coexistence of the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic resonance signals. The resonance intensity shows a broad peak around 200 K, which may be due to the wide ferromagnetic transition in the nanoparticle.  相似文献

We report local magnetization measurements on the heavy fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 using a micro-Hall probe. Below a critical point T0 (), the local magnetization shows a clear jump at the superconducting transition temperatures for both Ha and Hc, indicating that the phase transition at the upper critical field Hc2 becomes a first-order phase transition. In addition, we observed an undershoot behavior of magnetization jump above (Hc), which suggests a rapid change of textured superconducting structure with vortices and the nodal planes expected in the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov state.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the Hall-Lorenz number () for the optimally doped La1.855Sr0.145CuO4 (LSCO) has been obtained from the experimentally determined transverse and longitudinal transport coefficients. A comparison between Lxy(T) dependence found for LSCO and Lxy(T) reported previously for copper indicates that the Hall-Lorenz number in LSCO follows standard metallic behavior from room temperature down to . Below this temperature the Lxy coefficient deviates from regular metallic dependence in a way characteristic of an electronic system with lowered density of electronic states at the Fermi level. We present results of calculations provided in terms of the Boltzmann equation for a two-dimensional model of the electronic structure with a d-symmetrical pseudogap. A temperature Tmax, where a maximum in the Lxy(T) dependence appears, turns out to be dependent on the width of the supposed pseudogap . The best agreement between the model and the experimental data was obtained for , which corresponds well with values reported previously by other groups.  相似文献

We observed the giant magnetoimpedance and colossal ac magnetoresistance for a Cu coil wound on La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 under low dc magnetic fields. Even though the dc magnetoresistance for La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 plate is only −2.4% under H=12 kOe, a Cu coil wound on La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 plate exhibits a colossal ac magnetoresistance of −93% at 10 MHz and a giant magnetoimpedance of −59% in a wide frequency range of 500 kHz-10 MHz under a longitudinal field . The transverse magnetoimpedance is weaker than the longitudinal one. The giant magnetoimpedance and colossal ac magnetoresistance for a Cu coil wound on La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 are connected with the variation of permeability induced by dc magnetic field.  相似文献

The complex optical properties of the iron-chalcogenide superconductor FeTe0.55Se0.45 with Tc=14 K have been examined over a wide frequency range for light polarized in the Fe-Te(Se) planes above and below Tc. At room temperature the optical response may be described by a weakly interacting Fermi liquid; however, just above Tc this picture breaks down and the scattering rate takes on a linear frequency dependence. Below Tc there is evidence for two gap features in the optical conductivity at and . Less than 20% of the free carriers collapse into the condensate for T?Tc, and this material is observed to fall on the universal scaling line for a BCS dirty-limit superconductor in the weak-coupling limit.  相似文献

NiBi3 polycrystals were synthesized via a solid state method. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the main phase present in the sample corresponds to NiBi3 in a weight fraction of 96.82 % according to the refinement of the crystalline structure. SEM - EDS and XPS analysis reveal a homogeneous composition of NiBi3, without Ni traces. The powder superconducting samples were studied by performing magnetic measurements. The superconducting transition temperature and critical magnetic fields were determined as , Oe and Oe. The superconducting parameters were , , and κ=5.136. Isothermal measurements below the transition temperature show an anomalous behavior. Above the superconducting transition the compound presents ferromagnetic characteristics up to 750 K, well above the Ni Curie temperature.  相似文献

We present extensive 75As NMR and NQR data on the superconducting arsenides PrFeAs0.89F0.11, LaFeAsO0.92F0.08, LiFeAs and Ba0.72K0.28Fe2As2 single crystal, and compare with the nickel analog LaNiAsO0.9F0.1. In contrast to LaNiAsO0.9F0.1 where the superconducting gap is shown to be isotropic, the spin lattice relaxation rate 1/T1 in the Fe-arsenides decreases below Tc with no coherence peak and shows a step-wise variation at low temperatures. The Knight shift decreases below Tc and shows a step-wise T variation as well. These results indicate spin-singlet superconductivity with multiple gaps in the Fe-arsenides. The Fe antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations are anisotropic and weaker compared to underdoped copper-oxides or cobalt-oxide superconductors, while there is no significant electron correlations in LaNiAsO0.9F0.1. We will discuss the implications of these results and highlight the importance of the Fermi surface topology.  相似文献

Low temperature magnetic (M) and thermal (CP) properties of the intermetallic compound Ce2Pd2Sn have been investigated at zero and different magnetic fields. Two transitions were recognized at and , with latter nearly coinciding with the extrapolated Curie-Weiss temperature . The Curie factor evaluated from TTM, is ≈2μB. The positive value of θP, the triangular coordination of the magnetic (Ce) atoms and the weak effect of applied magnetic field, reveal that TM cannot be considered as a canonic antiferromagnetic transition like claimed in the literature. M(T) measurements under moderate magnetic fields () show TC(B) increasing while TM(B) is practically not affected. Both transition merge in a critical point at for , where the intermediate phase is suppressed. At , the cusp of a first order transition is observed in CP(T). According to the proposed ferromagnetic ground state, it is followed by a CP(T)∝T3/2exp(-Eg/T) dependence, with a gap of anisotropy .  相似文献

We have measured the specific heat of crystals of (Ca1−xSrx)3Ru2O7 using ac- and relaxation-time calorimetry. Special emphasis was placed on the characterization of the Néel () and structural () phase transitions in the pure, x=0 material. While the latter is believed to be first order, detailed measurements under different experimental conditions suggest that all the latent heat (with L∼0.3R) is being captured in a broadened peak in the effective heat capacity. The specific heat has a mean-field-like step at TN, but its magnitude () is too large to be associated with a conventional itinerant electron (e.g. spin-density-wave) antiferromagnetic transition, while its entropy is too small to be associated with the full ordering of localized spins. The TN transition broadens with Sr substitution while its magnitude decreases slowly. On the other hand, the entropy change associated with the Tc transition decreases rapidly with Sr substitution, and is not observable for our x=0.58 sample.  相似文献

We report the ac electrical response of La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3(x=0.05) as a function of temperature, magnetic field (H) and frequency of radio frequency (rf) current (). The ac impedance (Z) was measured while rf current directly passes through the sample as well as in a coil surrounding the sample. It is found that with increasing frequency of the rf current, Z(T) shows an abrupt increase accompanied by a peak at the ferromagnetic Curie temperature. The peak decreases in magnitude and shifts down with increasing value of H. We find a magnetoimpedance of for at around room temperature when the rf current flows directly through the sample and when the rf current flows through a coil surrounding the sample. It is suggested that the magnetoimpedance observed is a consequence of suppression of transverse permeability which enhances skin depth for current flow. Our results indicate that the magnetic field control of high frequency impedance of manganites is more useful than direct current magnetoresistance for low-field applications.  相似文献

We have performed elastic neutron-scattering measurements on La1.87Sr0.13Cu0.99Fe0.01O4 to study the magnetic impurity effects on the stripe correlations in high-Tc cuprates. Both charge-density-wave (CDW) and spin-density-wave (SDW) orders are observed in the low-temperature-orthorhombic (LTO) phase for the first time. With decreasing the temperature, CDW order first appears at followed by the SDW order at lower temperature of . The incommensurability for the CDW order (ε) was found to be 0.224±0.002 r.l.u., which is approximately twice of that for SDW order (δ) of 0.115±0.003 r.l.u. Both ordering sequence and relation of ε≈2δ are the same for SDW and CDW orders observed in the low-temperature-tetragonal (LTT) phase of La1.60-xNd0.4SrxCuO4 (LNSCO), suggesting that the similar stripe correlations exist in the cuprate oxides, irrespective of crystal structure.  相似文献

All samples are synthesized through a standard solid state reaction route and are quenched to room temperature systematically at 700 °C, 500 °C, 300 °C, and room temperature (RT); the samples are denoted 700Q, 500Q, 300Q, and RTQ, respectively. The structural, and magnetic properties are studied. Careful Rietveld analysis of the X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that all samples except 700Q crystallized in a single phase with space group P4/nmm; the amount of interstitial Fe (Feint) at the 2c site increased from 5% for RTQ to 8% for 500Q. Sample 700Q crystallized in the Fe7Se8 phase. The magnetization result revealed that RTQ and 300Q are superconducting at 10 K and 13 K, respectively, while 500Q and 700Q are not superconducting. Magnetic ordering was observed at around 125 K for all the samples. The prominence of in terms of effective moment is sufficiently higher for 500Q and 700Q than for RTQ and 300Q. Summarily, it is found that quenching-induced disorder affects the occupancy of interstitial Fe in FeTe1/2Se1/2 and thus both its superconducting and magnetic properties. Further, it clear that limited presence of interstitial Fe at 2c site is not completely contrary to the observation of superconductivity, because the 300Q sample possesses higher Tc (13 K) for higher Feint (6%) than the RTQ sample with relatively lower Tc (10 K) having lower Feint (5%). Further, the 500Q sample, with much higher Feint (8%), is non-superconducting.  相似文献

We report measurements of the temperature and pressure dependence of the electrical resistivity (ρ) of single-crystalline iron-based chalcogenide Cs0.8Fe2Se2. In this material, superconductivity with a transition temperature develops from a normal state with extremely large resistivity. At ambient pressure, a large “hump” in the resistivity is observed around 200 K. Under pressure, the resistivity decreases by two orders of magnitude, concomitant with a sudden Tc suppression around . Even at 9 GPa a metallic resistivity state is not recovered, and the ρ(T) “hump” is still detected. A comparison of the data measured upon increasing and decreasing the external pressure leads us to suggest that the superconductivity is not related to this hump.  相似文献

The tetragonal (s.g. I4/mmm; #139) ThCr2Si2 is widely known as a structural type of the broad family of the so-called 122-like ternary phases which includes now more than 800 members. Among them the superconducting iron-pnictides (discovered in 2008, -earth metals) and the newest superconducting iron-chalcogenides (discovered in 2010, metals) have attracted recently enormous interest in this class of materials. Meanwhile, the data about the electronic, magnetic, and elastic properties of the ThCr2Si2 phase itself are still practically absent. Here, by means of first-principles calculations, the optimized structural parameters, spin ordering of the magnetic ground state, independent elastic constants, bulk, shear, and Young’s moduli, elastic anisotropy indexes, total and partial densities of states, and inter-atomic bonding picture for ThCr2Si2 were obtained for the first time and analyzed in comparison with the aforementioned most popular 122-like systems and .  相似文献

Vanadium garnets NaPb2Co2V3O12 and NaPb2Ni2V3O12 have been successfully synthesized. The X-ray diffraction experiments indicate that these compounds have the garnet structure of cubic symmetry of space group with the lattice constant of 12.742 Å (NaPb2Co2V3O12) and 12.666 Å (NaPb2Ni2V3O12), respectively. The magnetic susceptibility of NaPb2Ni2V3O12 shows the Curie-Weiss paramagnetic behavior between 4.2 and 350 K. The effective magnetic moment μeff of NaPb2Ni2V3O12 is 3.14 μB due to Ni2+ ion at A-site and the Weiss constant is −3.67 K (antiferromagnetic sign). For NaPb2Co2V3O12, the simple Curie-Weiss law cannot be applicable. The ground state is the spin doublet and the first excited state is spin quartet , according to Tanabe-Sugano energy diagram on the basis of octahedral crystalline symmetry. This excited spin quartet state just a bit higher than ground state influences strongly the complex temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility for NaPb2Co2V3O12.  相似文献

We investigated the in-plane optical spectrum of a Co-doped Ba(Fe0.94Co0.06)2As2 single crystal showing superconductivity below . In the normal state, the low-energy optical conductivity spectrum can be decomposed into a sharp Drude term and a broad “incoherent” term. Below Tc, an s-wave-like superconducting gap appears in both components. We also investigated a magnetic or spin-density-wave gap in the detwinned parent compound.  相似文献
