The hadronic part aH of the muon g-factor anomaly a ≡ (g ? 2)2 is evaluated from latest data on σ(e+e? → hadrons). For a p-wave ππ scattering length of a1 = 0.04±0.005 we calculate aH = (66±10) × 10?9, compared to a(experiment) ? a(QED) = (60±29) × 10?9. Half of the uncertainty on aH is associated with the energy interval 0.92 < s < 2 GeV.  相似文献

The g-factor anomaly, a≡(g?2)/2, has been measured for μ+ in the new Muon Storage Ring at CERN. The result is a = (1 165 895 ± 27) × 10?9. This is (13 ± 29) × 10?9 below the theoretical value which includes sixth-order QED terms and a hadronic contribution of (73 ± 10) × 10?9.  相似文献

The new experiment planned at Brookhaven to measure the anomalous magnetic moment of the muona μ≡(g μ?2)/2 will improve the present accuracy of 7 ppm by about a factor of 20. This requires a careful reconsideration of the theoretical uncertainties of theg?2 predictions, which are dominated by the error of the contribution from the light quarks to the photon vacuum polarization. This issue is cruicial also for the precise determination of the running fine structure constant at theZ-peak as LEP/SLC experiments continue to increase their precision. In this paper we present an updated analysis of the hadronic vacuum polarization using all presently availablee +e? data. This seems to be justified because previous work on the subject was based to some extent on preliminary or incomplete experimental data. Contributions from different energy ranges are presented separately forg?2 of the muon and the τ-lepton and for α(M Z 2 ). We obtain the resultsa μ had* =(725±16)×10?10 anda τ had* =(351±10)×10?8, where the asterisk indicates the dressed (renormalization group improved) value. For the effective fine structure constant atM Z=91.1888 GeV we obtainΔα had (5) =0.0280±0.0007 and α(M Z 2 )?1=128.896±0.090. Further improvement in the accuracy of theoretical predictions which depend on the hadronic vacuum polarization requires more precise measurements ofe +e? cross-sections at energies below about 12 GeV in future experiments.  相似文献

The interactions of the aluminum acceptor impurity in silicon are investigated using polarized negative muons. The polarization of negative muons is studied as a function of temperature on crystalline silicon samples with phosphorus (1.6×1013 cm?3) and boron (4.1×1018 cm?3) impurities. The measurements are performed in a magnetic field of 4.1 kG perpendicular to the muon spin, in the temperature range from 4 to 300 K. The experimental results show that, in phosphorus-doped n-type silicon, an μAl acceptor center is ionized in the temperature range T>50 K. For boron-doped silicon, the temperature dependence of the shift of the muon spin precession frequency is found to deviate from the 1/T Curie law in the temperature range T ? 50 K. The interactions of a μAl acceptor that may be responsible for the effects observed in the experiment are analyzed.  相似文献

The ortho-para transition rate in the pμp molecule has been found experimentally to be λOP = (4.1 ± 1.4) × 104 s?1. Our recent result for the muon capture rate in liquid hydrogen can now be interpreted to extract the ortho-molecular capture rate: λOM = (531 ± 33) s?1. A deduction of the pseudoscalar coupling constant gpμ is presented: we find gpμ = 8.7 ± 1.9.  相似文献

We reanalyze archival EAS-MSU data in order to search for events with an anomalously low content of muons with energies E μ > 10 GeV in extensive air showers with the number of particles N e ? 2 × 107. We confirm the first evidence for a nonzero flux of primary cosmic gamma rays at energies E ~ 1017 eV. The estimated fraction of primary gamma rays in the flux of cosmic particles with energies E ? 5.4 × 1016 eV is εγ = (0.43 ?0.11 +0.12 )%, which corresponds to the intensity I γ = (1.2 ?0.3 +0.4 ) × 10?16 cm?2 s?1 sr?1. The study of arrival directions does not favor any particular mechanism of the origin of the photon-like events.  相似文献

Results of studying the temperature dependence of the residual polarization of negative muons in crystalline silicon with germanium (9×10 19 cm ?3 ) and boron (4.1×10 18 , 1.34×10 19 , and 4.9×10 19 cm ?3 ) impurities are presented. It is found that, similarly to n-and p-type silicon samples with impurity concentrations up to ~10 17 cm ?3 , the relaxation rate ν of the magnetic moment of a μ Al acceptor in silicon with a high impurity concentration of germanium (9×10 19 cm ?3 ) depends on temperature as ν~T q , q≈3 at T=(5–30) K. An increase in the absolute value of the relaxation rate and a weakening of its temperature dependence are observed in samples of degenerate silicon in the given temperature range. Based on the experimental data obtained, the conclusion is made that the spin-exchange scattering of free charge carriers makes a significant contribution to the magnetic moment relaxation of a shallow acceptor center in degenerate silicon at T?30 K. Estimates are obtained for the effective cross section of the spin-exchange scattering of holes (σ h ) and electrons (σ e ) from an Al acceptor center in Si: σ h ~10?13 cm2 and σ e ~8×10?15 cm2 at the acceptor (donor) impurity concentration n a (n d )~4×1018 cm?3.  相似文献

The v = 0?0 quadrupole spectrum of H2 has been recorded using a 0.005-cm?1 resolution Fourier transform spectrometer. The rotational lines S(1) through S(5) are observable in the spectra, in the region 587 to 1447 cm?1. The spectral position for S(0) was also obtained from its v = 1-0 ground-state combination difference. The high accuracy of the H2 measurements has permitted a determination of four rotational constants. These are (in cm?1) B0 = 59.33455(6); D0 = 0.045682(4); H0 = 4.854(12) × 10?5; L0 = ?5.41(12) × 10?8. The hydrogen line positions will facilitate studies of structure and dynamics in astrophysical objects exhibiting infrared H2 spectra. The absolute accuracy of frequency calibration over wide spectral ranges was verified using 10-μm CO2 and 3.39-μm CH4 laser frequencies. Standard frequencies for 5-μm CO were found to be high by 12 MHz (3.9 × 10?4 cm?1).  相似文献

The results of studying the physical properties of thin CdTe films obtained by the thermal evaporation method have been presented. The optical constants and the band gap of the films under study have been determined (E g = 1.46 eV). It has been established based on the investigation of optical properties and the Raman spectrum of the films that they possess high structural quality. The activation energy of the electrical conductivity of CdTe films has been determined: E a = 0.039 eV. The measured spectral dependences of the impedance of CdTe thin films are characteristic of the inhomogeneous medium with two time constants: τgb = R gb C gb = 1/ωgb = 1.62 × 10?3 s and τg = R g C g = 1/ωg = 9.1 × 10?7 s for grain boundaries and grains, respectively.  相似文献

Results of measurements of conductivity, Hall and Seebeck coefficients of tellurium doped n-type crystals of platinum antimonide are presented. The Hall coefficient and the Seebeck coefficient undergo sign inversion twice, below and above room temperature. The detailed analysis of the experimental results revealed that below 200 K PtSb2 can be described by a simple conduction and valence band model. The energy gap Eg = (110?0.15 × T) (meV), the electron conductivity mass mnc/m0 = 0.35, acoustic phonon limited electron mobility 〈μan = 3 × 106 T?32 (cm2V · s) and mobility ratio 〈μan/〈μap = 0.4 are determined. However, at higher temperatures a more complicated valence band model is needed to account for the experimental results. The arguments for the existence of subsidiary valleys in the valence band are presented.  相似文献

The results obtained from an analysis of the 1974–1998 Yakutsk array data on muons with threshold energy E μ ≈ 1.0 × secθ GeV and on all charged particles (electrons and muons) in extensive air showers (EAS) are reported and compared with the results of calculations based on the model of quark-gluon strings with jets. For energies of E 0≤3×1018 eV and zenith angles of θ≤45°, the results of the model calculations are consistent with the measured properties of the showers, while, for higher energy EASs, there are considerable discrepancies, which are probably due to the change in the development of the shower cascade in the region E 0≥3×1018 eV.  相似文献

The conductivity, thermopower, and magnetoresistance of carbynes structurally modified by heating under a high pressure are investigated in the temperature range 1.8–300 K in a magnetic field up to 70 kOe. It is shown that an increase in the synthesis temperature under pressure leads to a transition from 1D hopping conductivity to 2D and then to 3D hopping conductivity. An analysis of transport data at T ≤ 40 K makes it possible to determine the localization radius a ~ (56?140) Å of the wave function and to estimate the density of localized states g(E F) for various dimensions d of space: g(E F) ≈ 5.8 × 107 eV?1 cm?1 (d=1), g(E F) ≈5×1014 eV?1 cm ?2 (d=2), and g(E F)≈1.1×1021 eV?1 cm?3 (d=3). A model for hopping conductivity and structure of carbynes is proposed on the basis of clusterization of sp 2 bonds in the carbyne matrix on the nanometer scale.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance has been observed for Dy3+ in ZnSe and Tm3+ in CdS. For Dy3+ doped ZnSe, an isotropic spectrum was observed having well resolved hyperfine lines due to 161Dy and 163Dy. The g value obtained was 6.577 ± 0.002 and 161A was 191 ± 1 × 104 cm?1 and 163A was 265 ± 3 × 10?4 cm?1. The agreement of the observed g value to g6) = 6.667 and the point-charge calculations suggest that Dy3+ occupies an interstitial (II) site with no local charge compensation. For Tm3+ doped in hexagonal CdS, an axial spectrum consistent with g = 0, g = 10.722 ± 0.007, D = 2.57 GHz (crystal field splitting) and 169A = 1207 ± 5 × 10?4cm?1. The large g value indicates that the Tm ion exits in the trivalent state. This is in reasonable agreement with previous reports of the non-Kramer's state of Tm3+.  相似文献

Processes of ionization of shallow acceptor centers (ACs) in silicon are studied. In crystalline silicon samples with phosphorus (1.6×1013, 2.7×1013, and 2.3×1015cm?3) and boron (1.3×1015cm?3) impurities, μAl impurity atoms were produced by implantation of negative muons. It is found that thermal ionization is the main mechanism for ionizing the Al acceptor impurity in both p-type and n-type silicon with an impurity concentration of ?1015cm?3 at T>45 K. The thermal ionization rate of Al ACs in Si varies from ~105 to ~106s?1 in the temperature range 45–55 K.  相似文献

The cross section for production of neutrino pairs by high energy muons in the nuclear Coulomb field is calculated analytically. For right (left)-handedμ ?(μ +) helicity, the process is only mediated by neutral currents, which opens the possibility to look for the number of generations. Assuming three generations, the calculated cross section turns out to be 1.1×10?40 cm2 for56Fe and 6.6×10?40cm2 for208Pb at an incident muon energy of 300 GeV. A novel flow injection method for detection of l-proline was proposed in the presence of CdTe quantum dots (QDs). This method is based on the enhanced anodic electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emission of CdTe QDs l-proline in aqueous system. CdTe QDs were modified with thioglycolic acid to obtain stable water-soluble QDs and intensive anodic ECL emission in Na2CO3–NaHCO3 buffer solution at an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode, which was used for the sensitive detection of ECL enhancement using our homemade flow cell. Under the optimal conditions, the ECL intensity was correlated linearly with the concentration of l-proline over the range of 1.0×10?8?1.0×10?4 g mL?1 (r=0.9996) and the detection limit was 5.0×10?9 g mL?1. The relative standard deviation was 1.12% for 6.0×10?5 g mL?1 l-proline (n=11). The possible mechanism was discussed. This method put forward a new efficient ECL methodology for enhancement-related determination of l-proline successfully.  相似文献

The results of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies of Dy3+ ions in lead thiogallate PbGa2S4 single crystals have been presented. It has been shown that the ground state of these ions corresponds to the lowest Stark sublevel Γ6 of the term 6 H 15/2. The spectra are well described by the axially symmetric spin Hamiltonian with the effective spin S = 1/2 with the factors g = 15.06 and g = 2.47. The Dy3+ ions substitute Pb2+ ions in the crystal lattice of PbGa2S4. The observed hyperfine structure has allowed to unambiguously interpret the EPR spectra. The hyperfine interaction constants of two odd isotopes of dysprosium in lead thiogallate single crystals have been found to be A = 675 × 10?4 cm?1 and A = 111 × 10?4 cm?1 for 163Dy and A = 472 × 10?4 cm?1 and A = 77 × 10?4 cm?1 for 161Dy.  相似文献

We present Doppler resolution limited spectra of the P(J) and R(J) multiplets for J ≦ 10 of the 10-μm CO stretch band of 12CD316OH using a tunable diode laser. Relative frequencies within the multiplets accurate to ±0.0002–0.0005 cm?1 are obtained, but no absolute frequencies are given. We are able to assign most of the hindered rotation and K substructure in these multiplets. The assignments are based on analyses of Stark-difference spectra combined with the ground-state microwave data and the intensity variations which are expected theoretically. The ground and excited state A, K = 1 asymmetry splitting parameters are measured to be δ1″ = (8.5450 ± 0.0080) × 10?3cm?1 and δ1′ = (9.7706 ± 0.0080) × 10?3cm?1, respectively. The ground-state value agrees well with the microwave results. A rapid-scan system for recording data and a computer-aided technique for calibrating and plotting the spectra are described.  相似文献

Measurement of the neutron yield of the reaction dtμ → 4He + μ? + 17.6 MeV, induced by negative muons in a mixture of gaseous D2 and T2, has shown that the rate of muon transfer from deuterium to tritium is λdt = (2.7 ± 0.9) × 108s?1 and that the lower limit of the formation rate of dtμ molecules is λdtμ > 108s?1.  相似文献

Interaction of an unpaired electron of the tetrahedral V4+ ion in Ca3In2Ge3O12 garnet with the four nearest In nuclei gives rise to clearly resolved structure of EPR spectra. We report the observation and analysis of these spectra at three frequencies and at temperature 77 K. The temperature dependence between liquid helium and the room temperatures was also studied. Parameters of the spin Hamiltonian are g=1·8735; g=1·9825; ∣ ¦A|=150·4×10?4cm?1; ¦ A¦ = 36·7 × 10?4 cm?1. The supertransferred hyperfine interaction was found to be isotropic, absolute value of the corresponding parameter a is 22·1 × 10?4 cm?1.  相似文献
