Electromagnetic scattering of an incident uniform plane wave from a perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) circular cylinder, coated with a metamaterial is investigated theoretically. In the analysis the coating layer may be double-positive (DPS), double-negative (DNG), epsilon-negative (ENG) or mu-negative (MNG). It is assumed that both PEMC cylinder and the coating layer are infinite along the cylinder axis. Both parallel and perpendicular polarization cases are considered for the analysis. Comparison between the monostatic and bistatic echo widths, of a PEMC cylinder coated with metamaterial and coated with ordinary dielectric material (DPS), is presented. The numerical results are compared with the published literature, and comparison is found to be in good agreement.  相似文献

An analytical solution for the scattering of an electromagnetic plane wave from a coated perfect electromagnetic conducting (PEMC) circular cylinder, buried in the dielectric half space, is presented. Scattering characteristics of a buried PEMC cylinder when coated by double-positive (DPS) or double-negative (DNG) materials is investigated. The cylinder as well as coating layer is of infinite length (2-D problem). Plane wave spectral representations of the fields have been used to solve the problem. Saddle point method is used to solve the integral arising in the analysis. All the multiple interactions between the buried geometry and the dielectric interface separating the two half spaces have been considered in the analysis. The derivation includes both TM and TE polarization cases. It is observed that the response of the coated PEMC cylinder can be used to detect the underground pipes and other buried objects having a cylindrical shape.  相似文献

This study was conducted to investigate the flow structures of turbulent flow passing over a short finite cylinder in which a rigid flag is attached to the rear of the cylinder, in wake region. The length-to-diameter ratio of the cylinder was chosen to be L/D = 2, whereas the rigid flag had a width-to-diameter ratio of W/D = 1.5. Wall-adapted large-eddy simulation (LES-WALE) was used to resolve unsteady turbulent flow structures. The far field Reynolds number based on cylinder diameter was chosen to be 20,000. The results were compared with the regular case wherein no flag was attached to the cylinder. Results revealed that the flow pattern behind the cylinder with flag was totally different in comparison with the regular case one. However, top free end of the cylinder was not influenced by the flag in contrast with the wake region. At far downstream from the cylinder, most of the flow structures in both cases appeared the same. The horseshoe vortices in both cases appeared to be an unsteady phenomenon, with slightly different patterns. Moreover, in the case of flag attachment, the pressure coefficient was smaller than that of with no flag. Finally, it was shown that the main and secondary Strouhal numbers locations were different in both cases.  相似文献

We formulate and solve the problem of scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave by an infinite, perfectly conducting wedge with a truncated, perfectly conducting circular cylinder which is coated coaxially with a magnetodielectric layer and located along the wedge edge. The rigorous solution is obtained and reduced to a system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind for unknown coefficients of Fourier expansions of the scattered field. The results of calculating the scattered field in the far zone with a specified accuracy are presented for the case of an H-polarized wave. It is shown that for certain values of the electric radius of the cylinder, the backscattering cross section of such a structure has pronounced maxima.  相似文献

在亚临界区高雷诺数Re=1.4×105下,采用脱体涡模拟结合湍流分离的方法对弱电解质中电磁力作用下湍流边界层分离圆柱绕流场及其升(阻)力特性进行了数值模拟和分析.结果表明,电磁力可以提高圆柱体湍流边界层内的流体动能,延缓圆柱体湍流边界层的流动分离,减弱圆柱体湍流绕流场中在流向和展向上大尺度漩涡的强度,减小圆柱体阻力时均值及其升力脉动幅值.当电磁力作用参数大于某个临界值后,湍流边界层流动分离消失,在圆柱体尾部产生射流现象,从而电磁力对圆柱体产生净推力作用,出现负阻力现象,而且升力脉动幅值接近于零,出现圆柱体升力消失现象.  相似文献

研究了线电流源平行放置在有耗异向介质层覆盖的无限长介质圆柱附近模型的电磁特性.首先,提出电磁模型并给出此电磁模型的精确解.其次,利用精确解进行数值计算,得到不同电磁参数情况下该电磁模型的近场分布图形,并通过方向性系数和归一化辐射阻抗研究其远场特性.由于有耗异向介质的负折射特性和损耗的同时作用,相比于无耗异向介质层以及有耗普通介质层,得到了有耗异向介质层覆盖普通介质圆柱模型在近场和远场特性上极为不同的电磁特性. 关键词: 线电流源 异向介质 方向性系数 辐射阻抗  相似文献

The initial boundary-value problem is reduced to an infinite system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind with compact operator. The system can be solved by the truncation method with any predetermined accuracy. A few first eigenfrequencies of a sphere with circular hole are calculated. They correspond to oscillations with azimuthal index equal to one. 运用微扰法研究了平面波入射分层介质粗糙面的电磁散射,推出了不同极化状态下的双站散射系数公式.采用二维fBm分形粗糙面来模拟实际的分层介质粗糙面,结合二维fBm分形粗糙面的功率谱导出了平面波入射二维fBm分形分层介质粗糙面的散射系数计算公式.通过数值计算得到了HH极化下双站散射系数随散射角的变化曲线,讨论了分维、底层介质介电常数、中间介质介电常数和厚度及入射波频率对双站散射系数的影响,得到了二维fBm分形分层介质粗糙面散射系数的分维特征、基本特征、分区特征和随频率变化的特征. 关键词: 电磁散射 二维fBm分形粗糙面 分层介质 微扰法  相似文献

Natural convection flows of an incompressible Newtonian fluid inside a circular cylinder are studied. The heat transfer process is described by a generalized fractional constitutive equation for the thermal flux-temperature gradient. Caputo time-fractional derivative operator, which provides the damping of thermal flux, is considered into the studied model.Analytical solutions to the fluid temperature, thermal flux, fluid velocity and volume flow rate are obtained with the integral transforms method (Laplace transform and finite Hankel transform).Temperature behaviors for small and large values of the time t, as well as the post-transient and transient velocity components are determined. The influence of the memory parameter (the order of the time-fractional derivative) on the temperature, thermal flux, velocity and the volume flow rate is numerically and graphically studied.  相似文献

Simultaneous measurements of lift and drag forces have been performed in order to study passive control of unsteady loads induced on a circular cylinder. For this purpose, an aerodynamic balance has been developed. The balance, developed for a cylinder of 25.4 mm in diameter, was designed to operate in the subcritical regime (Re=32000). This instrument is characterized by its sensitive element that forms a small central part of the cylinder. The static and dynamic calibrations of the balance show the appropriateness of the present design. Moreover, qualification experiments carried out with a single cylinder gave results (mean and rms values of the lift and drag coefficients) that are in good agreement with those found in the literature. The purpose of this paper is to present a passive control experiment performed by means of the wake of a smaller cylinder interacting with a larger one. Firstly, a parametric study was performed by varying the following: i) the diameterdS of the small cylinder for one large cylinder diameterd (7 values in the range 0.047≤d S /d≤0.125); ii) the center-to-center spacingS/d (11 values in the range 1.375≤S/d≤2.5); and iii) the stagger anglea(0≤a≤90 with a fine angular stepDa fora≤15). A maximum mean drag reduction of about 48% is achieved. Ata=4 to 8, one can observe a peak of mean lift coefficient. Then unsteady fluid forces, vortex shedding frequency and flow pattern were systematically investigated for the small cylinder having a diameterdS=2.4 mm (0.094d). Reductions of 78% and 56% of the rms lift and drag fluctuations respectively were obtained with the small cylinder placed at a slight stagger angle in the range 6<a<9. This leads to an instantaneous force vector that exhibits more steadiness both in angle and amplitude. Moreover, at these stagger angles, the energy of the lift fluctuations at the shedding frequency is significantly reduced compared to the single cylinder case.  相似文献

A numerical solution is given for the problem of characteristic electromagnetic waves in a circular waveguide with a biisotropic rod. The dependences of the propagation constants of the different wave modes on the chirality parameter, nonreciprocity, and permittivity of the rod are obtained. The flow characteristics of the trailing edge of vertical vanes installed at the intersection of a T-junction duct were experimentally investigated using particle image velocimetry. The measured velocity field in the branch duct with/without single circular cylinder was studied under different cross velocities and velocity ratios. Additionally, the effect of the locations of cylinder on the flow field was discussed. The positive velocity region, the unsteady flow region and the trailing edge flow region of the vane, have been observed. The positive velocity region existed in almost one half of the measured area. As for the unsteady flow region, the unstable double-vortex structure transformed into a single-vortex structure as the velocity ratio increased. As for the trailing edge flow region of the vanes, the vortex streets could be visualised. Furthermore, the location of cylinder has revealed significant influence on the flow distributions in the trailing edge flow regions of the vanes. The flow structure without cylinder in the measured area is dependent on combinations of the cross velocity and velocity ratio, whereas that with cylinder is dependent on the velocity ratio. The vorticity fields were analysed in each region, and the velocity components revealed the cause of airflow trajectory.  相似文献

In this study, a hybrid approach based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used to investigate the aerodynamic forces associated with vortex-induced vibration (VIV) in a circular cylinder. The circular cylinder and the flow field were considered as two substructures of a system. Circular cylinder motion was produced in a wind tunnel test of the VIV prior to the numerical simulation; this motion was used as a known cylinder boundary condition and applied to the flow field. The flow field with the known moving boundary condition was then numerically simulated by the ANSYS CFX code. The transient aerodynamic coefficients of the circular cylinder with predetermined motion were obtained from the numerical simulation. To verify the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed hybrid approach and to calculate cylinder vibrations, the transient aerodynamic coefficients were applied to a single degree of freedom (SDOF) model of the circular cylinder. The oscillation responses of the circular cylinder from the calculated (SDOF model) and experimental results were compared, and the results indicate that the hybrid approach accurately simulated the transient aerodynamic coefficients of the circular cylinder. For further comparison, a nonlinear aerodynamic coefficient model based on a nonlinear least square technique was applied to the SDOF model. The nonlinear aerodynamic model can predict well the amplitude and lock-in region of the VIV of the circular cylinder model.  相似文献
