Structural properties of amorphous TiO2 spherical nanoparticles have been studied in models with different sizes of 2 nm, 3 nm, 4 nm and 5 nm under non-periodic boundary conditions. We use the pairwise interatomic potentials proposed by Matsui and Akaogi. Models have been obtained by cooling from the melt via molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. Structural properties of an amorphous nanoparticle obtained at 350 K have been analyzed in detail through the partial radial distribution functions (PRDFs), coordination number distributions, bond-angle distributions and interatomic distances. Moreover, we show the radial density profile in a nanoparticle. Calculations show that size effects on structure of a model are significant and that if the size is larger than 3 nm, amorphous TiO2 nanoparticles have a distorted octahedral network structure with the mean coordination number ZTi-O ≈6.0 and ZO-Ti ≈3.0 like those observed in the bulk. Surface structure and surface energy of nanoparticles have been obtained and presented.  相似文献

A facile room-temperature synthesis has been developed to prepare colloidal Mn3O4 and γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles (5 to 25 nm) by an ultrasonic-assisted method in the absence of any additional nucleation and surfactant. The morphology of the as-prepared samples was observed by transmission electron microscopy. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy observations revealed that the as-synthesized nanoparticles were single crystals. The magnetic properties of the samples were investigated with a superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer. The possible formation process has been proposed.  相似文献

A new preparation method for CuInS2 and CuInSe2 nanoparticles synthesis is described without using any organic solvent. Heating Cu, In, and S/Se precursors dissolved in water for 30 min in a microwave oven in the presence of mercapto-acetic acid leads to monodispersed chalcopyrite nanoparticles. No precipitation of these nanoparticles is observed after several months at room temperature. These new materials have been thoroughly characterized to confirm their compositions, sizes, and structure without any filtration. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirmed particle sizes below 5 nm. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA) confirmed the chemical composition of these samples. X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed a chalcopyrite-type structure with crystallite size of about 2 nm. No difference has been observed between batch and continuous synthesis processes. Cu x InS2 and Cu x InSe2 nanoparticles, with x < 1, have been also synthesized and identified. Simulation using a commercial software confirmed the difference between copper poor (Cu x InS2) and copper rich (CuInS2) chalcopyrite structures. Conventional spray deposition techniques have been used to form relatively thin films on solid substrates.  相似文献

In this study, we report the comparison between Eu3+-doped silica nanoparticles synthesized by Stöber method using Eu(NO3)3 or Eu(acac)3 as precursors. The impact of different europium species on the properties of the final silica nanospheres is investigated in details in terms of size, morphology, reachable doping amount, and luminescence efficiency. Moreover, the results obtained for different thermal treatments are presented and discussed. It is shown that the organic complex modify the silica growing process, leading to bigger and irregular nanoparticles (500–800 nm) with respect to the perfectly spherical ones (400 nm) obtained by the nitrate salt, but their luminescence intensity and lifetime is significantly higher when 800–900 °C annealing is performed.  相似文献

We have synthesized nanosized La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 by a simple low-cost novel synthesis route without calcination at high temperature. The study of these nanoparticles indicates excellent properties similar to colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) materials sintered at ∼1600°C for 20 h. The resulting particle size is in the range of 50–160 nm as determined by scanning electron microscopy. Resistivity measurement has been carried out down to 12 K. The sample shows metal-to-insulator (M–I) transition at 205 K.   相似文献

PrF3 and LaF3 nanoparticles were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The size distribution of these nanoparticles in the colloidal solution produced was studied by photon correlation spectroscopy. The mean diameter of the nanoparticles was 42 ± 1 nm. During the study of the toxicity of the nanoparticles, the mixture of a colloidal solution of the nanoparticles with cells to be studied was irradiated by 30-mW continuous lasers at wavelengths of 532 and 473 nm. The concentration of salmonella cells in normal saline was 106 cell/mL, while that of nanoparticles was 0.1 g/L. The cell survival percentage was 39, 34, and 20% for the irradiation times of 5, 10, and 15 min, respectively, at an optimal laser radiation power density of 0.4 W/cm at a wavelength of 532 nm. It was ascertained that LaF3 nanoparticles do not possess the property of photoinduced toxicity and the apoptosing effect. Moreover, the property of photoinduced toxicity is not shared by microparticles, in contrast to nanoparticles.  相似文献

Bi4Ti3O12 (BIT) nanoparticles with a narrow average particle size distribution in the range of 11–46 nm was synthesized via a metal-organic polymeric precursor process. The crystallite size and lattice parameter of BIT were determined by XRD analysis. At annealing temperatures >550 °C, the orthorhombic BIT compound with lattice parameters a = 5.4489 Å, b = 5.4147 Å, and c = 32.8362 Å was formed while at lower annealing temperatures orthorhombicity was absent. Reaction proceeded via the formation of an intermediate phase at 500 °C with a stoichiometry close to Bi2Ti2O7. The particle size and the agglomerates of the primary particles have been confirmed by FESEM and TEM. The decomposition of the polymeric gel was ascertained in order to evaluate the crystallization process from TG-DSC analysis. Raman spectroscopy was used to investigate the lattice dynamics in BIT nanoparticles. In addition, investigation of the dependence of the visible emission band around the blue–green color emission on annealing temperatures and grain sizes showed that the effect of grain size plays important roles, and that oxygen vacancies may act as the radiative centers responsible for the observed visible emission band.  相似文献

Pure and Gd-doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles have been synthesized by sol–gel method. The significant effects of size and Gd-doping on structural, electrical, and magnetic properties have been investigated. X-ray diffraction study reveals that the pure BiFeO3 nanoparticles possess rhombohedral structure, but with 10% Gd-doping complete structural transformation from rhombohedral to orthorhombic has been observed. The particle size of pure and Gd-doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles, calculated using Transmission electron microscopy, has been found to be in the range 25–15 nm. Pure and Gd-doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles show ferromagnetic character, and the magnetization increases with decrease in particle size and increase in doping concentration. Scanning electron microscopy study reveals that grain size decreases with increase in Gd concentration. Well-saturated polarization versus electric field loop is observed for the doped samples. Leakage current density decreases by four orders by doping Gd in BiFeO3. The incorporation of Gd in BiFeO3 enhances spin as well as electric polarization at room temperature. The possible origin of enhancement in these properties has been explained on the basis of dopant and its concentration, phase purity, small particle, and grain size.  相似文献

The synthesis of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles with different percentage of anatase and rutile phases is investigated. The synthesis is performed by controlling the oxygen percentage in the gas mixture in the plasmachemical evaporation–condensation process employing a low-pressure arc discharge. In all our experiments, the pressure in the plasmachemical reactor and the average size of particles remain constant and are 60 Pa and 6 nm, respectively. The crystal structure of synthesized TiO2 is studied using X-ray diffraction; the morphology of the particles is analyzed employing transmission electron microscopy. Using X-ray phase analysis, it is established that the concentration of the TiO2 anatase phase decreases upon a decrease in the oxygen concentration in the gas mixture. It is shown that the TiO2 anatase phase is more efficient for photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue than the rutile phase.  相似文献

Aurivillius phase layered perovskites Bi6Ti3WO18 was prepared by the sol-gel citrate-complexation synthesis. The sample developed into the plate-like nanoparticles with the exposed (001) facets. The phase formation and structure have been verified via X-ray polycrystalline powder diffraction (XRD) Rietveld refinements. The nanoparticles were investigated via the measurements such as FE-SEM, TEM, EDS, and the surface analyses. UV–Vis absorption data revealed that the Aurivillius compound has a direct band characteristic with the band energy of 2.214 eV. The band structure of Bi6Ti3WO18 nanoparticles was discussed on the base of the experiments and theoretical calculation. Bi3+-containing Aurivillius Bi6Ti3WO18 shows efficient photocatalytic degradation for rhodamine B dye (RhB) with the visible light irradiation (λ?>?420 nm). Dynamic characteristic of the light-created excitons was measured by the luminescence and decay lifetime. The multivalent properties of W and Ti ions in the Aurivillius-like lattices of Bi6Ti3WO18 photocatalyst were discussed.  相似文献

This paper reports on the sonochemical-assisted synthesis of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) nanoparticles (NPs) which have a single-crystalline perovskite structure. The average particle size of LSMO NPs was controlled from about 40 to 120 nm by changing the annealing temperatures from 750 to 1050°C. The particle size, electrical resistivity, and ferromagnetic transition temperature of LSMO NPs were strongly dependent on the annealing temperature. A substantial decrease in resistivity and an enhancement in the insulator–metal transition temperature were found on increasing the annealing temperature. Furthermore, the enhancement in magnetization and paramagnetic–ferromagnetic (PM–FM) transition temperatures was observed as the annealing temperature increases.  相似文献

This report discusses the preparation and microstructure of Co/Ni co-doped MgGa2O4 nanoparticles. The nanoparticles with the size of 20–55 nm were synthesized by sol-gel method. The phase and crystallinity were confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) pattern. The particle size was estimated according to XRD data and transmission electron microscopy. The electronic structure was studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The XPS studies showed that Ga3+ ions possess tetrahedral and octahedral sites of spinel structure and the inverse degree (two times of the fraction of tetrahedral Ga3+ ions) has increased with the increase of the doping concentration of Co2+ and Ni2+ ions. For Co/Ni co-doped MgGa2O4, two broad absorption bands of 350~500 and 550~700 nm were observed in the absorption spectra. The broad band at 350~500 nm was assigned to the combination of the absorption of octahedral Co2+ and Ni2+ ions, whereas the absorption band at 550~700 nm is mainly due to tetrahedrally coordinated Co2+ ions and octahedrally coordinated Ni2+ ions.  相似文献

Nanoparticles and nanorods of CuSb2O6 are prepared by hydrothermal method and its high temperature α-phase is stabilized at room temperature. The average size of the nanoparticles is ca. 13.7 nm. The nanorods, with a width of ca. 20 nm and an aspect ratio of ca. 5, are the agglomerates composing of smaller nanoparticles with an average size of ca. 8.3 nm. Compared with the high temperature α-phase of bulk sample at 400 K, the lattice of nanophases elongated in ab plane and compressed along c direction. The CuSb2O6 nanoparticles exhibit predominant paramagnetic phenomenon. The difference in magnetic properties of the nanoparticles and nanorods indicates the interfacial interaction of agglomerated nanoparticles.  相似文献

In this paper a novel hybrid approach to synthesise composite nanoparticles is presented. It is based on the laser ablation of a bulk target (Yb) immersed in a reversed micellar solution which contains nanoparticles of a different host material (TiO2 nanoparticles) previously synthesised by chemical method. This approach thus exploits the advantages of the chemical synthesis through reversed micellar solution (size control, nanoparticle stabilisation), and of the laser ablation (“clean” synthesis, no side reactions). Central role is played by the microscopic processes controlling the deposition of the ablated Yb atoms onto the surface of TiO2 nanoparticles which actually behave as nucleation seeds. The structural features of the resulting Yb@TiO2 composite nanoparticles have been studied by Transmission Electron Microscopy, whereas their peculiar optical properties have been explored by UV–Vis spectroscopy and steady-state fluorescence. Results consistently show the formation of Yb and TiO2 glued nanodomains to form nearly spherical and non-interacting nanoparticles with enhanced photophysical properties.  相似文献

Nearly monodisperse, well crystalline, superparamagnetic CoFe2O4 nanoparticles with diameter of 6 nm were synthesized in oleic acid–water–pentanol system at 180 °C. Hydrothermal procedure, as an efficient and environment friendly alternative to organic decomposition methods, was investigated by variation of reaction conditions, and the particle formation mechanism was finally proposed (i.e., hydrolysis of metal oleates in organic phase, with size of the particles (5–8 nm) controlled by polarity-driven precipitation into water phase). As-prepared particles were hydrophobic due to coating by oleic acid. Further modification with dimercaptosuccinic acid led to water-dispersible particles with hydrodynamic diameter of 20 nm. Prepared particles were investigated by TEM, XRD, ICP-AES, light scattering, SQUID magnetometry, and Mössbauer spectroscopy.  相似文献

Conductive TiN shells have been deposited on SiO2 nanoparticles (10–20 nm primary particle size) with fluidized bed atomic layer deposition using TDMAT and NH3 as precursors. Analysis of the powders confirms that shell growth saturates at approximately 0.4 nm/cycle at TDMAT doses of >1.2 mmol/g of powder. TEM and XPS analysis showed that all particles were coated with homogeneous shells containing titanium. Due to the large specific surface area of the nanoparticles, the TiN shells rapidly oxidize upon exposure to air. Electrical measurements show that the partially oxidized shells are conducting, with apparent resistivity of approximately ~11 kΩ cm. The resistivity of the powders is strongly influenced by the NH3 dose, with a smaller dose giving an order-of-magnitude higher resistivity.  相似文献

Alumina micro- and nanopowders with the particle size from 200 μm to 40 nm synthesized by the sol-gel method are studied. The particle size dependence of γ-Al2O3→α-Al2O3 phase transformation is studied by differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction method, and transmission electron microscopy. X-ray diffraction data show that for alumina nanoparticles γ-Al2O3→θ-Al2O3 phase transformation occurs at 900°C, and for micro-particles it occurs in the temperature range 1150–1200°C. The alumina ceramics produced of alumina nanoparticles is shown to have higher flexural strength under three-point bending than the ceramics produced of micro-particles. The obtained results demonstrate that alumina particle size reduction stabilizes the formation of α-Al2O3 at lower temperatures, due to which the grain growth rate decreases and the flexural strength of monolithic oxide ceramics increases.  相似文献

Single-phase perovskite compound La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 was synthesised by a high-energy ball milling in a single step processing. Structure and morphology characterizations revealed nanoparticle nature of this mixed valent manganite with the average particle diameter of 9 nm. Comprehensive set of magnetic measurements showed that the system can be described as an ensemble of interacting magnetic nanoparticles where each particle possesses high magnetic moment, i.e., superspin. Furthermore, magnetic behavior showed contributions from both superspin-glass (SSG) and superparamagnetic (SP) states, and the prevailing properties depended on the experimental conditions. It was established that SSG state dominated in low magnetic fields up to 500 Oe while in higher applied fields suppression of collective behavior occurred and individual characteristics of nanoparticles prevailed. It was also concluded that the applied method of synthesis produced system with high magnetic anisotropy as well as with the large nanoparticle shell whose thickness amounts 30% of a particle diameter.  相似文献

Nanosized titanium dioxide (TiO2) powder was prepared by a laser-induced pyrolysis. Specific surface area of the as-grown powder measured by BET method was 109 m2/g. The grain size (14.5 nm) estimated from these data coincides well with the crystallite size (12.3 nm) determined by XRD measurements. The average grain size (∼35 nm) obtained from the subsequent SEM measurements refers to considerable agglomeration of nanoparticles. Raman spectroscopy has been used to investigate the structural properties of TiO2 nanopowder and its anatase structure is confirmed. The blueshift and broadening of the lowest frequency Eg Raman mode at temperature range ∼25–550 K have been analyzed using a phonon-confinement model. Dominant influence of the strong anharmonic effect at higher temperatures was demonstrated. PACS 81.07.Wx; 78.30.-j; 63.22.+m  相似文献

The magnetic nanoparticles of La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 perovskite manganite with a controlled size were prepared via sol–gel procedure, followed by thermal treatment and subsequent mechanical processing of the resulting raw product. The prepared materials were structurally studied by the XRD and TEM methods and probed by DC magnetic measurements. The nanoparticles of the mean crystallite sizes 11–40 nm exhibit T C in the range of ≈310–347 K and the sample possessing 20-nm crystallites was identified as the most suitable for hyperthermia experiments. In order to obtain a colloidally stable suspension and prevent toxic effects, the selected magnetic cores were further encapsulated into silica shell using tetraethoxysilane. The detailed magnetic studies were focused on the comparison of the raw product, the bare nanoparticles after mechanical processing and the silica-coated nanoparticles, dealing also with effects of size distribution and magnetic interactions. The heating experiments were carried out in an AC field of frequencies 100 kHz–1 MHz and amplitude 3.0–8.9 kA m−1 on water dispersions of the samples, and the generated heat was deduced from their warming rate taking into account experimentally determined thermal losses into surroundings. The experiments demonstrate that the heating efficiency of the coated nanoparticles is generally higher than that of the bare magnetic cores. It is also shown that the aggregation of the bare nanoparticles increases heating efficiency at least in a certain concentration range.  相似文献
