The purpose of this work is to solve exterior problems in the half-space for the Laplace operator. We give existence and unicity results in weighted Lp's theory with 1<p<∞. This paper extends the studies done in [C. Amrouche, V. Girault, J. Giroire, Dirichlet and Neumann exterior problems for the n-dimensional Laplace operator, an approach in weighted Sobolev spaces, J. Math. Pures Appl. 76 (1) (1997) 55-81] with Dirichlet and Neumann conditions.

In this paper, some Fredholm properties of the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace operator in an exterior domain are given in weighted Hölder spaces. These results extend the corresponding approach in weighted L p -Sobolev spaces.

In this paper we show the Dirichlet and Neumann problems over exterior regions have unique solutions in certain weighted Sobolev spaces. Two applications are given: (1) The Dirichlet problem for semi-linear operators, and (2) a Helmholtz decomposition for vector fields on exterior regions.

The scalar Oseen equation represents a linearized form of the Navier Stokes equations. We present an explicit potential theory for this equation and solve the exterior Dirichlet and interior Neumann boundary value problems via a boundary integral equations method in spaces of continuous functions on a C2-boundary, extending the classical approach for the isotropic selfadjoint Laplace operator to the anisotropic non-selfadjoint scalar Oseen operator. As representatives of a larger class of elliptic boundary value problems of mathematical physics, we study the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace operator and the electric boundary problem for the Maxwell operator. We state regularity results in two families of weighted Sobolev spaces: A classical isotropic family, and a new anisotropic family, where the hypoellipticity along an edge of a polyhedral domain is taken into account. In the present paper, we study the vector potential problem in exterior domains of . Our approach is based on the use of weighted spaces in order to describe the behavior of functions at infinity. As a first step of the investigation, we prove important results on the Laplace equation in exterior domains with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. As a consequence of the obtained results on the vector potential problem, we establish useful results on weighted Sobolev inequalities and Helmholtz decompositions of weighted spaces. We deal in this Note with the Laplace equation in the half-space. The use of a special family of weighted Sobolev spaces as a framework is at the heart of our approach. A complete class of existence, uniqueness and regularity results is obtained for inhomogeneous Dirichlet and Neumann problems.

We give a procedure for reconstructing a magnetic field and electric potential from boundary measurements given by the Dirichlet to Neumann map for the magnetic Schrödinger operator in R n , n ≥ 3. The magnetic potential is assumed to be continuous with L divergence and zero boundary values. The method is based on semiclassical pseudodifferential calculus and the construction of complex geometrical optics solutions in weighted Sobolev spaces.

Via Potential Theory, we obtain optimal solvability results in weighted Sobolev spaces for the Poisson's Problem for the Laplacian, with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions in the exterior W\Omega of a bounded Lipschitz domain. As an application, we present suitable Helmholtz decompositions of vector fields defined on W\Omega. Our methods can be used to study similar regularity issues for systems.

In the paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the overdetermined elliptic system where b, ω are given functions, in a domain Ω C R3 with corners π/n, n = 2, 3, … The proof is divided on two steps, we construct a solution for the Laplace equation in a dihedral angle π/n, using the method of reflection and we get an estimate in the norms of the Sobolev spaces in some neighbourhood of the edge. In the dihedral angle system (A) reduces to the Dirichlet and Neumann problems for the Laplace equation. In the next step we prove the existence of solutions in the Sobolev spaces Wpl(Ω) using the existence of generalized solutions of (A).

We study the exterior Dirichlet and Neumann problem for the 3-dimensional Stokes equations. By the use of the theory of hydrodynamical potentials, the decay at infinity can be completely characterized in the framework of weighted Sobolev spaces. The results are applied to the theory of weak solutions and to the Whitehead paradox.

The purpose of the present paper is twofold. The first object is to study the Laplace equation with inhomogeneous Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions in the half‐space of ?N. The behaviour of solutions at infinity is described by means of a family of weighted Sobolev spaces. A class of existence, uniqueness and regularity results are obtained. The second purpose is to investigate some properties of grad, div and curl operators in order to treat curl–div systems of the form curl w = u, div w = 0 and problems related to vector potentials and Helmholtz decomposition.Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study Hardy spaces of solutions to the conjugate Beltrami equation with Lipschitz coefficient on Dini-smooth simply connected planar domains, in the range of exponents 1<p<∞. We analyse their boundary behaviour and certain density properties of their traces. We derive on the way an analog of the Fatou theorem for the Dirichlet and Neumann problems associated with the equation div(σu)=0 with Lp boundary data.

We consider weights of Muckenhoupt classA q, 1<q<∞. For a bounded Lipschitz domain Ω⊂ℝn we prove a compact embedding and a Poincaré inequality in weighted Sobolev spaces. These technical tools allow us to solve the weak Neumann problem for the Laplace equation in weighted spaces on ℝn, ℝn +, on bounded and on exterior domains Ω with boundary of classC 1, which will yield the Helmholtz decomposition ofL ω q(Ω)n for general ω∈A q. This is done by transferring the method of Simader and Sohr [4] to the weighted case. Our result generalizes a result of Farwig and Sohr [2] where the Helmholtz decomposition ofL ω p(Ω)n is proved for an exterior domain and weights of Muckenhoupt class without singularities or degeneracies in a neighbourhood of ϖΩ.

We consider initial boundary value problems for a third-order nonlinear pseudoparabolic equation with one space dimension. The boundary condition is given by an integral; the function involved could exhibit singularities, which distinguishes this nonlocal condition from its Dirichlet or Neumann counterparts. By means of appropriate elliptic estimates we are able to seek solutions not only in the weighted spaces but also in the usual Sobolev spaces. The procedure is carried out in a unified way. Our results characterize a regularity of the pseudoparabolic operator that is different from that of the parabolic operator.

In [S.G. Samko, B.G. Vakulov, Weighted Sobolev theorem with variable exponent for spatial and spherical potential operators, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 310 (2005) 229-246], Sobolev-type p(⋅)→q(⋅)-theorems were proved for the Riesz potential operator Iα in the weighted Lebesgue generalized spaces Lp(⋅)(Rn,ρ) with the variable exponent p(x) and a two-parameter power weight fixed to an arbitrary finite point x0 and to infinity, under an additional condition relating the weight exponents at x0 and at infinity. We show in this note that those theorems are valid without this additional condition. Similar theorems for a spherical analogue of the Riesz potential operator in the corresponding weighted spaces Lp(⋅)(Sn,ρ) on the unit sphere Sn in Rn+1 are also improved in the same way.

The p‐Laplace equation is a nonlinear generalization of the Laplace equation. This generalization is often used as a model problem for special types of nonlinearities. The p‐Laplace equation can be seen as a bridge between very general nonlinear equations and the linear Laplace equation. The aim of this paper is to solve the p‐Laplace equation for 1 < p < 2 and to find strong solutions. The idea is to apply a hypercomplex integral operator and spatial function theoretic methods to transform the p‐Laplace equation into the p‐Dirac equation. This equation will be solved iteratively by using a fixed‐point theorem. Applying operator‐theoretical methods for the p‐Dirac equation and p‐Laplace equation, the existence and uniqueness of solutions in certain Sobolev spaces will be proved. A mixed boundary value problem for the Stokes system in a polyhedral domain is considered. Here different boundary conditions (in particular, Dirichlet, Neumann, free surface conditions) are prescribed on the faces of the polyhedron. The authors prove the existence of solutions in (weighted and non‐weighted) Lp Sobolev spaces and obtain regularity assertions for weak solutions. The results are based on point estimates of Green's matrix. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献
