In this paper we report new results on the regularity of optimal controls for dynamic optimization problems with functional inequality state constraints, a convex time-dependent control constraint and a coercive cost function. Recently, it has been shown that the linear independence condition on active state constraints, present in the earlier literature, can be replaced by a less restrictive, positive linear independence condition, that requires linear independence merely with respect to non-negative weighting parameters, provided the control constraint set is independent of the time variable. We show that, if the control constraint set, regarded as a time-dependent multifunction, is merely Lipschitz continuous with respect to the time variable, then optimal controls can fail to be Lipschitz continuous. In these circumstances, however, a weaker Hölder continuity-like regularity property can be established. On the other hand, Lipschitz continuity of optimal controls is guaranteed for time-varying control sets under a positive linear independence hypothesis, when the control constraint sets are described, at each time, by a finite collection of functional inequalities.  相似文献

In this work we give a result concerning the continuous dependence on the data for weak solutions of a class of semilinear elliptic variational inequalities (Pn) with a nonlinear term depending on the gradient of the solution. This paper can be seen as the second part of the work Matzeu and Servadei (2010) [9], in the sense that here we give a stability result for the C1,α-weak solutions of problem (Pn) found in Matzeu and Servadei (2010) [9] through variational techniques. To be precise, we show that the solutions of (Pn), found with the arguments of Matzeu and Servadei (2010) [9], converge to a solution of the limiting problem (P), under suitable convergence assumptions on the data.  相似文献

We prove comparison, uniqueness and existence results for viscosity solutions to a wide class of fully nonlinear second order partial differential equations F(x,u,du,d2u)=0 defined on a finite-dimensional Riemannian manifold M. Finest results (with hypothesis that require the function F to be degenerate elliptic, that is nonincreasing in the second order derivative variable, and uniformly continuous with respect to the variable x) are obtained under the assumption that M has nonnegative sectional curvature, while, if one additionally requires F to depend on d2u in a uniformly continuous manner, then comparison results are established with no restrictive assumptions on curvature.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a semilinear variational inequality with a gradient-dependent nonlinear term. Obviously the nature of this problem is non-variational. Nevertheless we study that problem associating a suitable semilinear variational inequality, variational in nature, with it, and performing an iterative technique used in De Figueiredo et al. (2004) [6] in order to treat semilinear elliptic equations when there is a gradient dependence on the nonlinearity. We prove the existence of a non-trivial non-negative weak solution u for our problem using essentially variational methods, a penalization technique and an iterative scheme. Via Lewy-Stampacchia’s estimates and regularity theory for elliptic equation we also show that u is differentiable and its gradient is α-H?lder continuous on for any α∈(0,1).  相似文献

In this work we prove that, if L(t,u,ξ) is a continuous function in t and u, Borel measurable in ξ, with bounded non-convex pieces in ξ, then any absolutely continuous solution to the variational problem

In this work we study the structure of approximate solutions of an autonomous discrete-time control system with a compact metric space of states X which is a subset of a finite-dimensional Euclidean space. This control system is described by a nonempty closed set ΩX×X which determines a class of admissible trajectories (programs) and by a bounded upper semicontinuous function v:ΩR1 which determines an optimality criterion. We are interested in turnpike properties of the approximate solutions which are independent of the length of the interval, for all sufficiently large intervals. Usually, in economic dynamics, the turnpike properties have been studied for systems such that all their good programs converge to a turnpike which was an interior point of Ω. In this paper we establish turnpike results for a large class of control systems for which the turnpike is not necessarily an interior point of Ω.  相似文献

Under a mild regularity assumption, we derive an exact formula for the Fréchet coderivative and some estimates for the Mordukhovich coderivative of the normal cone mappings of perturbed polyhedra in reflexive Banach spaces. Our focus point is a positive linear independence condition, which is a relaxed form of the linear independence condition employed recently by Henrion et al. (2010) [1], and Nam (2010) [3]. The formulae obtained allow us to get new results on solution stability of affine variational inequalities under linear perturbations. Thus, our paper develops some aspects of the work of Henrion et al. (2010) [1] Nam (2010) [3] Qui (in press) [12] and Yao and Yen (2009) [6] and [7].  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet-problem associated with H-surfaces in central projection. By using a variational approach in the space of functions of bounded variation, and in connection with the theory of minimal sets, we obtain very general existence and regularity results provided the mean curvature H fulfils a certain monotony condition. Let X be a Banach space on which a symmetry group G linearly acts and let J be a G-invariant functional defined on X. In 1979, R. Palais (Comm. Math. Phys. 69 (1979) 19) gave some sufficient conditions to guarantee the so-called “Principle of Symmetric Criticality”: every critical point of J restricted on the subspace of G-symmetric points becomes also a critical point of J on the whole space X. This principle is generalized to the case where J is not differentiable within the setting which does not require the full variational structure under the hypothesis that the action of G is isometry or G is compact.  相似文献

In this paper we show that the positive semi-definiteness (PSD) of the Fréchet and/or Mordukhovich second-order subdifferentials can recognize the convexity of C1 functions. However, the PSD is insufficient for ensuring the convexity of a locally Lipschitz function in general. A complete characterization of strong convexity via the second-order subdifferentials is also given.  相似文献

In this paper we study the asymptotic behaviour, as ε   tends to zero, of a class of boundary optimal control problems PεPε, set in ε-periodically perforated domain. The holes have a critical size with respect to ε  -sized mesh of periodicity. The support of controls is contained in the set of boundaries of the holes. This set is divided into two parts, on one part the controls are of Dirichlet type; on the other one the controls are of Neumann type. We show that the optimal controls of the homogenized problem can be used as suboptimal ones for the problems PεPε.  相似文献

We consider weak solutions u of non-linear systems of partial differential equations. Assuming that the system exhibits a certain kind of elliptic behavior near infinity we prove higher integrability results for the gradient Du. In particular, we establish Hölder continuity of u in low dimensions. Moreover, we obtain analogous results for vectorial minimizers of multi-dimensional variational integrals. Finally, we discuss an extension to minimizing sequences and applications to generalized minimizers.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze a mass transportation problem that consists in moving optimally (paying a transport cost given by the Euclidean distance) an amount of a commodity larger than or equal to a fixed one to fulfil a demand also larger than or equal to a fixed one, with the obligation of paying an extra cost of −g1(x)g1(x) for extra production of one unit at location x   and an extra cost of g2(y)g2(y) for creating one unit of demand at y  . The extra amounts of mass (commodity/demand) are unknowns of the problem. Our approach to this problem is by taking the limit as p→∞p to a double obstacle problem (with obstacles g1g1, g2g2) for the p  -Laplacian. In fact, under a certain natural constraint on the extra costs (that is equivalent to impose that the total optimal cost is bounded) we prove that this limit gives the extra material and extra demand needed for optimality and a Kantorovich potential for the mass transport problem involved. We also show that this problem can be interpreted as an optimal mass transport problem in which one can make the transport directly (paying a cost given by the Euclidean distance) or may hire a courier that cost g2(y)−g1(x)g2(y)g1(x) to pick up a unit of mass at y and deliver it to x. For this different interpretation we provide examples and a decomposition of the optimal transport plan that shows when we have to use the courier.  相似文献

In this paper we consider systems with cooperative controls. Such a model turns out to be efficient in those cases where one has to deal with different goals, as optimality and safety issues, at the same time. On the other hand, the drawback of this approach is the presence of discontinuities of the various controls. To deal with this problem, we give a general strategy, which is based on the concept of Krasowskii solution to discontinuous ODEs. Such a strategy is then applied to the safety driving of the Dubins car.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish sharp two-sided estimates for the Green functions of relativistic stable processes (i.e. Green functions for non-local operators m−(m2/αΔ)α/2) in half-space-like C1,1 open sets. The estimates are uniform in m∈(0,M] for each fixed M∈(0,). When m0, our estimates reduce to the sharp Green function estimates for −(−Δ)α/2 in such kind of open sets that were obtained recently in Chen and Tokle [12]. As a tool for proving our Green function estimates, we show that a boundary Harnack principle for Xm, which is uniform for all m∈(0,), holds for a large class of non-smooth open sets.  相似文献

In this paper we deal with fixed point computational problems by strongly convergent methods involving strictly pseudocontractive mappings in smooth Banach spaces. First, we prove that the S-iteration process recently introduced by Sahu in [14] converges strongly to a unique fixed point of a mapping T, where T is κ-strongly pseudocontractive mapping from a nonempty, closed and convex subset C of a smooth Banach space into itself. It is also shown that the hybrid steepest descent method converges strongly to a unique solution of a variational inequality problem with respect to a finite family of λi-strictly pseudocontractive mappings from C into itself. Our results extend and improve some very recent theorems in fixed point theory and variational inequality problems. Particularly, the results presented here extend some theorems of Reich (1980) [1] and Yamada (2001) [15] to a general class of λ-strictly pseudocontractive mappings in uniformly smooth Banach spaces.  相似文献

There are two types of criteria of solutions for the set-valued optimization problem, the vectorial criterion and set optimization criterion. The first criterion consists of looking for efficient points of set valued map and is called set-valued vector optimization problem. On the other hand, Kuroiwa–Tanaka–Ha started developing a new approach to set-valued optimization which is based on comparison among values of the set-valued map. In this paper, we treat the second type criterion and call set optimization problem. The aim of this paper is to investigate four types of nonlinear scalarizing functions for set valued maps and their relationships. These scalarizing functions are generalization of Tammer–Weidner’s scalarizing functions for vectors. As applications of the scalarizing functions for sets, we present nonconvex separation type theorems, Gordan’s type alternative theorems for set-valued map, optimality conditions for set optimization problem and Takahashi’s minimization theorems for set-valued map.  相似文献

Let X be a complete metric space equipped with a doubling Borel measure supporting a p-Poincaré inequality. We obtain various convergence results for solutions of double obstacle problems on open subsets of X. In particular, we consider a sequence of double obstacle problems with converging obstacles and show that the corresponding solutions converge as well. We use the convergence properties to define and study a generalized solution of the double obstacle problem.  相似文献

We use the Perron method to construct and study solutions of the Dirichlet problem for p-harmonic functions in proper metric measure spaces endowed with a doubling Borel measure supporting a weak (1,q)-Poincaré inequality (for some 1?q<p). The upper and lower Perron solutions are constructed for functions defined on the boundary of a bounded domain and it is shown that these solutions are p-harmonic in the domain. It is also shown that Newtonian (Sobolev) functions and continuous functions are resolutive, i.e. that their upper and lower Perron solutions coincide, and that their Perron solutions are invariant under perturbations of the function on a set of capacity zero. We further study the problem of resolutivity and invariance under perturbations for semicontinuous functions. We also characterize removable sets for bounded p-(super)harmonic functions.  相似文献
