Unprecedented stabilization of the copper(I ) oxidation state is demonstrated for the complex cation [Cu(bfp)2]+ ( 1 ) due to the steric and electronic effects of the CF3 groups (E1/2(CuII/CuI)=+1.55 V vs. SCE). The redox existence range of the copper(I ) species is remarkably high at 2.77 V. It is emissive in solution at room temperature and shows great potential as a photocatalyst; in the excited state it is a very potent photooxidant.  相似文献

Electron-deficient acridones and in situ generated acridinium salts are reported as potent, closed-shell photooxidants that undergo surprising mechanisms. When bridging acyclic triarylamine catalysts with a carbonyl group (acridones), this completely diverts their behavior away from open-shell, radical cationic, ‘beyond diffusion’ photocatalysis to closed-shell, neutral, diffusion-controlled photocatalysis. Brønsted acid activation of acridones dramatically increases excited state oxidation power (by +0.8 V). Upon reduction of protonated acridones, they transform to electron-deficient acridinium salts as even more potent photooxidants (*E1/2=+2.56–3.05 V vs SCE). These oxidize even electron-deficient arenes where conventional acridinium salt photooxidants have thusfar been limited to electron-rich arenes. Surprisingly, upon photoexcitation these electron-deficient acridinium salts appear to undergo two electron reductive quenching to form acridinide anions, spectroscopically-detected as their protonated forms. This new behaviour is partly enabled by a catalyst preassembly with the arene, and contrasts to conventional SET reductive quenching of acridinium salts. Critically, this study illustrates how redox active chromophoric molecules initially considered photocatalysts can transform during the reaction to catalytically active species with completely different redox and spectroscopic properties.  相似文献

The electrochemical processes of irreversibly adsorbed antimony (Sbad) on Au electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM). CV data showed that Sbad on Au electrode yielded oxidation and reduction features at about 0.15 V (vs saturated calomel electrode, SCE). EQCM data indicated that Sbad species were stable on Au electrode in the potential region from −0.25 to 0.18 V (vs SCE); the adsorption of Sb inhibited the adsorption of water and anion on Au electrode at low electrode potentials. Sb2O3 species was suggested to form on the Au electrode at 0.18 V. At a potential higher than 0.20 V the Sb2O3 species could be further oxidized to Sb(V) oxidation state and then desorbed from Au electrode.  相似文献

Irreversible photooxidation based on N–O bond fragmentation is demonstrated for N‐methoxyheterocycles in both the singlet and triplet excited state manifolds. The energetic requirements for bond fragmentation are studied in detail. Bond fragmentation in the excited singlet manifold is possible for ππ* singlet states with energies significantly larger than the N–O bond dissociation energy of ca 55 kcal mol?1. For the * triplet states, N–O bond fragmentation does not occur in the excited state for orbital overlap and energetic reasons. Irreversible photooxidation occurs in the singlet states by bond fragmentation followed by electron transfer. Irreversible photooxidation occurs in the triplet states via bimolecular electron transfer to the donor followed by bond fragmentation. Using these two sensitization schemes, donors can be irreversibly oxidized with oxidation potentials ranging from ca 1.6–2.2 V vs SCE. The corresponding N‐ethylheterocycles are characterized as conventional reversible photooxidants in their triplet states. The utility of these sensitizers is demonstrated by irreversibly generating the guanosine radical cation in buffered aqueous solution.  相似文献

Extensive study of the electronic structure of Fe‐NO complexes using a variety of spectroscopic methods was attempted to understand how iron controls the binding and release of nitric oxide. The comparable energy levels of NO π* orbitals and Fe 3d orbitals complicate the bonding interaction within Fe? NO complexes and puzzle the quantitative assignment of NO oxidation state. Enemark–Feltham notation, {Fe(NO)x}n, was devised to circumvent this puzzle. This 40‐year puzzle is revisited using valence‐to‐core X‐ray emission spectroscopy (V2C XES) in combination with computational study. DFT calculation establishes a linear relationship between ΔEσ2s*‐σ2p of NO and its oxidation state. V2C Fe XES study of Fe? NO complexes reveals the ΔEσ2s*‐σ2p of NO derived from NO σ2s*/σ2p→Fe1s transitions and determines NO oxidation state in Fe? NO complexes. Quantitative assignment of NO oxidation state will correlate the feasible redox process of nitric oxide and Fe‐nitrosylation biology.  相似文献

A series of 1,5‐diaminonaphthalene derivatives were synthesized and characterized to provide ground‐ and excited‐state electron donors of similar structure but varying potential. Electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of the series are reported and together illustrate two opposing consequences of alkyl substitution on the aryl amines. Inductive effects of methylation are evident from the decrease in ground‐state oxidation potential for derivatives containing monomethylamino substituents. In contrast, steric effects seem to dominate the increase in the ground‐state oxidation potential of derivatives containing dimethylamino substituents since the conformational constraints created by dimethylation suppress delocalization of the nonbonding electrons. Absorption and emission properties also respond to increasing levels of N‐methylation, and the excited‐state oxidation potentials of the parent 1,5‐diaminonaphthalene and its monomethylamine derivatives (ca. ?3.2 V) are approximately 200 mV lower than the corresponding dimethylamino derivatives (?3.0 V).  相似文献

Twelve naphthochromenone photocatalysts (PCs) were synthesized on gram scale. They absorb across the UV/Vis range and feature an extremely wide redox window (up to 3.22 eV) that is accessible using simple visible light irradiation sources (CFL or LED). Their excited‐state redox potentials, PC*/PC.? (up to 1.65 V) and PC.+/PC* (up to ?1.77 V vs. SCE), are such that these novel PCs can engage in both oxidative and reductive quenching mechanisms with strong thermodynamic requirements. The potential of these bimodal PCs was benchmarked in synthetically relevant photocatalytic processes with extreme thermodynamic requirements. Their ability to efficiently catalyze mechanistically opposite oxidative/reductive photoreactions is a unique feature of these organic photocatalysts, thus representing a decisive advance towards generality, sustainability, and cost efficiency in photocatalysis.  相似文献

The mononuclear manganese bis‐terpyridine complex [Mn(tolyl‐terpy)2](X)3 ( 1 (X)3; X=BF4, ClO4, PF6; tolyl‐terpy=4′‐(4‐methylphenyl)‐2,2′:6′,2“‐terpyridine), containing Mn in the unusual +III oxidation state, has been isolated and characterised. The 1 3+ ion is a rare example of a mononuclear MnIII complex stabilised solely by neutral N ligands. Complex 1 3+ is obtained by electrochemical oxidation of the corresponding MnII compound 1 2+ in anhydrous acetonitrile. Under these conditions the cyclic voltammogram of 1 2+ exhibits not only the well‐known MnII/MnIII oxidation at E1/2=+0.91 V versus Ag/Ag+ (+1.21 V vs. SCE) but also a second metal‐based oxidation process corresponding to MnIII/MnIV at E1/2=+1.63 V (+1.93 V vs. SCE). Single crystals of 1 (PF6)3?2 CH3CN were obtained by an electrocrystallisation procedure. X‐ray analysis unambiguously revealed its tetragonally compressed octahedral geometry and high‐spin character. The electronic properties of 1 3+ were investigated in detail by magnetic measurements and theoretical calculations, from which a D value of +4.82 cm?1 was precisely determined. Density functional and complete active space self consistent field ab initio calculations both correctly predict a positive sign of D, in agreement with the compressed tetragonal distortion observed in the X‐ray structure of 1 (PF6)3?2 CH3CN. The different contributions to D were calculated, and the results show that 1) the spin–orbit coupling part (+2.593 cm?1) is predominant compared to the spin–spin interaction (+1.075 cm?1) and 2) the excited triplet states make the dominant contribution to the total D value.  相似文献

Through the electrodeposition of aniline with hemoglobin (Hb) on zincoxide‐gold colloidal sols (ZnO‐AuNPs) modified indium oxide electrode, a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) biosensor was constructed. Polyaniline (PANI) form a nano‐cage wrapped Hb, which provided a comfortable and stable site for the immobization of Hb. UV‐vis spectrum was employed to characterize Hb retained original structure in the resulting Hb‐PANI/ZnO‐AuNPs membrane. Electrochemical investigation of the biosensor showed a pair of well‐defined, quasi‐reversible redox peaks with Epa= ‐0.139 V and Epc = ‐0.238 V (vs. SCE) in 0.1 M pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solution at the scan rate of 100 mV/s. The biosensor displayed a fast response time (<3 s) and broad linear response to H2O2 in the range from 1.5 μM to 1.7 mM with a detection limit of 0.8 μM (S/N = 3).  相似文献

Acetoacetanilide, benzoylacetanilide and their derivatives have been examined in ultraviolet region in a series of solvents covering a broad polarity range e. e. from chloroform (Z, 63.2) to methanol (Z .83.6). Transition energies and oscillator strengths have been calculated and transition energy (ET) has been plotted against Z-values, a new empirical measurement of solvent polarity. A linear relationship was observed between the transition energy and Z-values for π → π* and n → π* transitions. These transitions are identified as charge transfer (c-t) transitions and with the solvents having carbonyl oxygen and sulphur atom a c-t complex formation has been suggested. Strong electron-donating substituents on phenyl group of the nitrogen atom also showed a weak to moderate n → π* transitions. These substituents have no influence on the position of the λmax in the same solvent. Stabilization energy of the excited state of these ligands and hence the dipole moments of the excited states have been calculated in comparison with pyridinium iodide. Solvent sensitivities of these ligands have also been calculated.  相似文献

Abstract

A steric effect in the carbon-skeleton rearrangement catalyzed by heptamethyl cobyrinate perchlorate, [Cob(II)7C1ester]C104, was investigated under electrochemical conditions. The controlled-potential electrolyses of alkyl halides having two carboxylic ester groups of different bulkiness on the same carbon atom, such as 2,2-bis(ethoxycarbonyl)-l-bromopropane, l-bromo-2-tert-butoxycarbonyl-2-ethoxy-carbonylpropane, l-bromo-2-cyclohexyloxycarbonyl-2-ethoxycarbonylpropane, and l-bromo-2-ethoxy-carbonyl-2-phenoxycarbonylpropane, were carried out in N,N-dimethylformamide, as catalyzed by [Cob(II)7C1ester]CIO4, to give the corresponding ester-migrated products in the dark at—1.5 V vs SCE in the presence of acetic acid and at—2.0 V vs SCE without acetic acid. As regards a correlation between bulkiness of an ester group and a migration aptitude, a smaller ester group tends to migrate to the adjacent carbon atom more readily than a larger one. The origin of such a steric effect is discussed with attention to the rate-determining step.  相似文献

Ring carbo‐mers of oligo(phenylene ethynylene)s (OPEn, n=0–2), made of C2‐catenated C18 carbo‐benzene rings, have been synthesized and characterized by NMR and UV‐vis spectroscopy, crystallography and voltammetry. Analyses of crystal and DFT‐optimized structures show that the C18 rings preserve their individual aromatic character according to structural and magnetic criteria (NICS indices). Carbo‐terphenyls (n=2) are reversibly reduced at ca. ?0.42 V/SCE, i.e. 0.41 V more readily than the corresponding carbo‐benzene (?0.83 V/SCE), thus revealing efficient inter‐ring π‐conjugation. An accurate linear fit of E1/2red1 vs. the DFT LUMO energy suggests a notably higher value (?0.30 V/SCE) for a carbo‐quaterphenyl congener (n=3). Increase with n of the effective π‐conjugation is also evidenced by a red shift of two of the three main visible light absorption bands, all being assigned to TDDFT‐calculated excited states, one of them restricting to a HOMO→LUMO main one‐electron transition.  相似文献

Reaction of N-(4-R-phenyl)picolinamide (R = OCH3, CH3, H, Cl and NO2) with [Ir(PPh3)3Cl] in refluxing ethanol in the presence of a base (NEt3) affords two yellow complexes (1-R and 2-R). The 1-R complexes contain an amide ligand coordinated to the metal center as a monoanionic bidentate N,N donor along with two triphenylphosphines, a chloride and a hydride. The 2-R complexes contain an amide ligand coordinated to the metal center as a monoanionic bidentate N,N donor along with two triphenylphosphines and two hydrides. Similar reaction of N-(naphthyl)picolinamide with [Ir(PPh3)3Cl] affords two organometallic complexes, 3 and 4. In complex 3 the amide ligand is coordinated to the metal center, via C–H activation of the naphthyl ring at the 8-position, as a dianionic tridentate N,N,C donor, along with two triphenylphosphines and one chloride. Complex 4 is similar to complex 3, except a hydride is bonded to iridium instead of the chloride. Structures of the 1-OCH3, 2-Cl and 4 complexes have been determined by X-ray crystallography. All the complexes are diamagnetic, and show characteristic 1H NMR signals and intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. Cyclic voltammetry on all the complexes shows a IrIII–IrIV oxidation within 0.50–1.16 V vs. SCE and a reduction of the coordinated amide ligand within −1.02 to −1.25 V vs. SCE.  相似文献

The iron(II) and iron(III) complexes with EDTA can be determined separately and in mixtures in acetate-buffered medium at pH 4.0. The E12values are in the range ?0.105 to ?0.112 V vs. SCE. Linear calibration plots are obtained over the range 0–1.0 mM for each oxidation state. A sample-handling procedure for avoiding oxidation of iron(II) species is described. It is shown that the acetate buffer system does not affect the stability of the iron-EDTA complexes.  相似文献

Abstract

A series of novel pyrethrin derivatives containing hydrazone and 1,3,4-oxadiazole thioether moieties were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their insecticidal activity. Bioassays indicated that some of the target compounds exhibited good insecticidal activities against Plutella xylostella (P. xylostella), Vegetable aphids (V. aphids), and Empoasca vitis (E. vitis). In particular, compound (E)-2-((5-(2,2-dimethyl-3-(2-methylprop-1-en-1-yl)cyclopropyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)thio)-N'-(4-(trifluoromethyl)benzylidene)acetohydrazide (6s) revealed excellent insecticidal activities against P. xylostella, V. aphids, and E. vitis with the 50% lethal concentration (LC50) values of 5.23, 7.07, and 1.61?mg/L, respectively, which were similar to or even better than those of chlorpyrifos, beta cypermethrin, spinosad, and azadirachtin. These results indicated that novel pyrethrin derivatives containing hydrazone and 1,3,4-oxadiazole thioether moieties could be developed as novel and promising insecticides.  相似文献

Flavonolignans, silybin and its derivatives (2,3-dehydrosilybin, 7-O-methylsilybin, 20-O-methylsilybin) and isosilybin were studied using ex situ (adsorptive transfer, AdT) cyclic and square wave voltammetry (SWV). The two oxidation steps were described for flavonolignans at potentials Ep1 + 0.5 V and Ep2 + 0.85 V depending on experimental conditions. An additional oxidation peak at Ep3 + 0.35 V was observed only for 2,3-dehydrosilybin. The anodic currents of flavonolignans are related to their electron transfer processes (oxidation of hydroxyl groups), which was supported by density functional theory (DFT) and B3P86 theory level. Our electrochemical results confirmed that 2,3-dehydrosilybin is a relatively strong antioxidant, which is strictly associated with oxidation at Ep3. The oxidation processes and antioxidant parameters of flavonolignans can be affected by transition metal complexation via hydroxyl groups. We found that silybin and 2,3-dehydrosilybin are able to chelate transition metals, especially Cu2+. The formation of silybin/Cu complexes was studied by AdT SWV and the observation was also confirmed using fluorescence spectroscopy. The electrochemical investigation of DNA interactions and damage caused in the presence of silybin/Cu complex and hydrogen peroxide is described. We present evidence that flavonolignans are involved not only in antioxidant abilities but also in the prooxidation effects under in vitro conditions.  相似文献

The photocatalytic decomposition of liquid water on Pt-loaded TiO2 (Pt/TiO2) catalysts was investigated. The results obtained by XPS and XRD measurements of the catalysts as a function of the calcination temperature as well as the photocatalytic decomposition reactions of H2O clearly indicate that controlling the oxidation state of Pt as well as the amount of loaded Pt species are both important factors in the design of water-splitting photocatalysts having high efficiency and stoichiometry.  相似文献

4a-(Z-1-Propenyl)-bicyclo[4.4.0]dec-1(8a)-en-2-one ( 6 ) and 4a-(Z-1-propenyl)-bicyclo[4.4.0]deca-1(8a), 7-dien-2-one ( 17 ) undergo an intramolecular hydrogen transfer from the methyl group of the propenyl substitutent to the α-carbon atom of the enone group, and cyclization to the [4.4.3]propellane derivatives 9 and 30 , respectively, when excited in the π → π* wavelength region. The quantum yield for (Z)- 6 → 9 under optimum conditions is 0.29 at 254 nm. These reactions occur specifically from the S2 (π,π*) state, competing with the S2T decay. The triplet reactions of 6 are EZ double-bond isomerization, double-bond shift to (E,Z)- 8 , and rearrangement to (E)- 10 . Further investigations concern some structural limitations in the scope of the reaction type 6 → 9 and enone S2 reactivity in general.  相似文献

Nanosecond flash photolysis of 1,4-dinitronaphthalene (1,4-DNO2N) in aerated and deaerated solvents shows a transient species with absorption maximum at 545 nm. The maximum of the transient absorption is independent of solvent polarity and its lifetime seems to be a function of the hydrogen donor efficiency of the solvent. The transient absorption is attributed to the lowest excited triplet state of 1,4-DNO2N. The reactivity of this state for hydrogen abstraction from tributyl tin hydride (Bu3SnH), Kq = 3.8 × 108M?1 sec, is almost equal to that of nitrobezene triplet state which has been characterized as an n → π* state. Based on spectroscopic and kinetic evidence obtained in the present work, the triplet state of 1,4-DNO2N behaves as an n → π* state in nonpolar solvents, while in polar solvents the state is predominantly n → π* with a small amount of intramolecular charge transfer character.  相似文献

Experimental information on the electrochemical behavior of guanine synthetic derivatives (acyclovir, valacyclovir, ganciclovir, and famciclovir) with the strong antiviral activity on presynthesized activated carbosital electrode (CSE) in aqueous solutions of different acidity is obtained. The mechanism of irreversible oxidation of substances containing guanidine group (–NH–C(NH–)=N–) is discussed and the dependences of current and potential of experimental anodic peaks on the potential scan rate, the nature and acidity of supporting electrolyte solution, and also on the concentration of depolarizer and the time of its accumulation on the electrode surface are found. It is shown that all other factors being equal (0.1 М phosphate buffer, рН 6), the position of the observed anodic peak depends substantially on the nature of acyclic substituent at N(9) of imidazole ring in the aminopurine molecule: the susceptibility to oxidation decreases in the series Gua (Epa = 0.84 V), ACV (Epa = 1.00 V), VACV (Epa = 1.04 V), GCV (Epa = 1.07 V), FCV (Epa = 1.20 V). It is shown that the electrocatalytic activity and the high absorbability of the activated CSE with respect to substances tested make it possible to reach their lower detection limits (20–40 nM) in multicomponent solutions.  相似文献
