We extend a result of A. Neyman about zonoids in ℝn to zonoids in Banach spaces. A zonoid in a Banach space is the closed convex hull of the range of a vector measure. We show that the following conditions on a zonoid Z are equivalent: (1) Z determines univocally the associated conical measure; (2) There exists a vector measure defined on (Ω, Σ) such that every decomposition of Z into sum of zonoids can be obtained by decomposing (Ω, Σ); (3) Z ∩ (—αZ) is a parallelepiped for every α > 0. We also prove other results about decomposition of zonoids; for instance, we prove that if Z is a zonoid and Z ∩ (—Z) is a zonotope, there exists a zonoid L such that Z = Z ∩ (—Z) + L.  相似文献

Some results of Cameron-Storvick on the structure of the Banach algebra S of functionals on the space Cp[a, b] of p-dimensional vector-valued functions x(t), t [a, b], x(a)=0, are generalized to a Banach algebra containing functionals defined on the set Cp(Y), where Y is an infinite-dimensional compact set. In particular it is shown that analytic Feynman integrals of such functionals over the space Cp(Y) exist.Translated fromMatematichni Metodi ta Fiziko-Mekhanichni Polya, Vol. 40, No. 3, 1997, pp. 45–49.  相似文献

We prove two characterizations of new Cohen summing bilinear operators. The first one is: Let X, Y and Z be Banach spaces, 1 < p < ∞, V : X × Y → Z a bounded linear operator and n ≥ 2 a natural number. Then V is new Cohen p-summing if and only if for all Banach spaces X1,?…?, Xn and all p-summing operators U : X1 × · · · × XnX, the operator V ? (U, IY) : X1 × · · · × Xn × YZ is -summing. The second result is: Let H be a Hilbert space,, Y, Z Banach spaces and V : H × Y → Z a bounded bilinear operator and 1 < p < ∞. Then V is new Cohen p-summing if and only if for all Banach spaces E and all p-summing operators U : EH, the operator V ? (U, IY) is (p, p*)-dominated.  相似文献

Let G be a group and Autc(G) be the group of all central automorphisms of G. We know that in a finite p-group G, Autc(G) = Inn(G) if and only if Z(G) = G′ and Z(G) is cyclic. But we shown that we cannot extend this result for infinite groups. In fact, there exist finitely generated nilpotent groups of class 2 in which G′ =Z(G) is infinite cyclic and Inn(G) < C* = Autc(G). In this article, we characterize all finitely generated groups G for which the equality Autc(G) = Inn(G) holds.  相似文献

This work investigates complex random fields Z, which have a rotation invariant path measure. Fields of this type are constructed and analyzed in terms of (pathwise convergent) L2-expansions, and quasi invariance properties of their path measures are studied. The results are used to investigate ℋL2(Z), the space of holomorphic L2-functionals of Z. Conditions are given such that every F∈ℋL2(Z) admits an L2-power series expansion, and a general skeleton theorem is proved, which justifies the notion ‘holomorphic’. The paper investigates L p convergence and Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund strong laws of large numbers for random elements in a Banach space under the condition that the Banach space is of Rademacher type p, 1 < p < 2. The paper also discusses L r convergence and L r bound for random elements without any geometric restriction condition on the Banach space.  相似文献

Abstract

In this work we analyze the existence of solutions that blow-up in finite time for a reaction–diffusion equation u t  ? Δu = f(x, u) in a smooth domain Ω with nonlinear boundary conditions ?u/?n = g(x, u). We show that, if locally around some point of the boundary, we have f(x, u) = ?βu p , β ≥ 0, and g(x, u) = u q then, blow-up in finite time occurs if 2q > p + 1 or if 2q = p + 1 and β < q. Moreover, if we denote by T b the blow-up time, we show that a proper continuation of the blowing up solutions are pinned to the value infinity for some time interval [T, τ] with T b  ≤ T < τ. On the other hand, for the case f(x, u) = ?βu p , for all x and u, with β > 0 and p > 1, we show that blow-up occurs only on the boundary.  相似文献

For 0<p<∞, let Hp(R n) denote the Lebesgue space for p>1 and the Hardy space for p ≤1. In this paper, the authors study Hp(R n)×Hq(R n)→Hr(R n) mapping properties of bilinear operators given by finite sums of the products of the standard fractional integrals or the standard fractional integral with the Calderón-Zygmund operator. The authors prove that such mapping properties hold if and only if these operators satisfy certain cancellation conditions. We develop a theory of Malliavin calculus for Banach space-valued random variables. Using radonifying operators instead of symmetric tensor products we extend the Wiener-Itô isometry to Banach spaces. In the white noise case we obtain two sided Lp-estimates for multiple stochastic integrals in arbitrary Banach spaces. It is shown that the Malliavin derivative is bounded on vector-valued Wiener-Itô chaoses. Our main tools are decoupling inequalities for vector-valued random variables. In the opposite direction we use Meyer's inequalities to give a new proof of a decoupling result for Gaussian chaoses in UMD Banach spaces.  相似文献

We obtain new embedding theorems for Lorentz spaces of vector-valued martingales, thus generalizing the classical martingale inequalities. In contrast to earlier methods, we use martingale transformations defined by sequences of operators and identify the operator S (p)(f) for a martingale f ranging in a Banach space X with the maximal operator for some ℓ p (X)-valued martingale transform. The obtained inequalities are closely related to geometric properties of the Banach space in question.  相似文献

A group G is said to be capable if it is isomorphic to the central factor group H/Z(H) for some group H. Let G be a nonabelian group of order p 2 q for distinct primes p and q. In this paper, we compute the nonabelian tensor square of the group G. It is also shown that G is capable if and only if either Z(G) = 1 or p < q and Gab=\mathbbZp×\mathbbZp{G^{\rm ab}=\mathbb{Z}_{p}\times\mathbb{Z}_{p}} .  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact group, ω be a weight function on G and 1 < p < ∞. Here, we give a sufficient condition for that the weighted L p -space L p (G, ω) is a Banach algebra. Also, we get some necessary conditions on G and the weight function ω for L p (G, ω) to be a Banach algebra. As a consequence, we show that if G is abelian and L p (G, ω) is a Banach algebra, then G is σ-compact.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R, assume that c is a nonzero element of Z(R) with the property that cZ(R) = {0}. A local ring R is called c-local if Z(R)2 = {0, c}, Z(R)3 = {0}, and xZ(R) = {0} implies x ∈ {0, c}. For any finite c-local ring (R, 𝔪), it is proved that the ideal m has a minimal generating set which has a c-partition. The structure and classification up to isomorphism of all finite commutative c-local rings with order greater than 25 are determined.  相似文献

In this article, we study one-dimensional backward stochastic differential equations with continuous coefficients. We show that if the generator f is uniformly continuous in (y, z), uniformly with respect to (t, ω), and if the terminal value ξ ∈L p (Ω, ? T , P) with 1 < p ≤ 2, the backward stochastic differential equation has a unique L p solution.  相似文献

A bounded linear operator T acting on a Banach space B is called weakly hypercyclic if there exists xB such that the orbit is weakly dense in B and T is called weakly supercyclic if there is xB for which the projective orbit is weakly dense in B. If weak density is replaced by weak sequential density, then T is said to be weakly sequentially hypercyclic or supercyclic, respectively. It is shown that on a separable Hilbert space there are weakly supercyclic operators which are not weakly sequentially supercyclic. This is achieved by constructing a Borel probability measure μ on the unit circle for which the Fourier coefficients vanish at infinity and the multiplication operator Mf(z)=zf(z) acting on L2(μ) is weakly supercyclic. It is not weakly sequentially supercyclic, since the projective orbit under M of each element in L2(μ) is weakly sequentially closed. This answers a question posed by Bayart and Matheron. It is proved that the bilateral shift on ?p(Z), 1?p<∞, is weakly supercyclic if and only if 2<p<∞ and that any weakly supercyclic weighted bilateral shift on ?p(Z) for 1?p?2 is norm supercyclic. It is also shown that any weakly hypercyclic weighted bilateral shift on ?p(Z) for 1?p<2 is norm hypercyclic, which answers a question of Chan and Sanders.  相似文献

LetT(t) be the translation group onY=C 0(ℝ×K)=C 0(ℝ)⊗C(K),K compact Hausdorff, defined byT(t)f(x, y)=f(x+t, y). In this paper we give several representations of the sun-dialY corresponding to this group. Motivated by the solution of this problem, viz.Y =L 1(ℝ)⊗M(K), we develop a duality theorem for semigroups of the formT 0(t)⊗id on tensor productsZX of Banach spaces, whereT 0(t) is a semigroup onZ. Under appropriate compactness assumptions, depending on the kind of tensor product taken, we show that the sun-dial ofZX is given byZ X*. These results are applied to determine the sun-dials for semigroups induced on spaces of vector-valued functions, e.g.C 0(Ω;X) andL p (μ;X). We define the notion of “stable Banach space” by a simple condition on the norm. We prove that ifE is a stable Banach space, then every subspace ofL p(E) (1≦p<∞) is stable. Our main result asserts that every infinite dimensional stable Banach space containsl p, for somep, 1≦p<∞. This is a generalization of a theorem due to D. Aldous: every infinite dimensional subspace ofL 1 containsl p, for somep in the interval [1, 2].  相似文献

In this article, the local well‐posedness of Cauchy's problem is explored for a system of quadratic nonlinear Schrödinger equations in the space Lp( R n). In a special case of mass resonant 2 × 2 system, it is well known that this problem is well posed in Hs(s≥0) and ill posed in Hs(s < 0) in two‐space dimensions. By translation on a linear semigroup, we show that the general system becomes locally well posed in Lp( R 2) for 1 < p < 2, for which p can arbitrarily be close to the scaling limit pc=1. In one‐dimensional case, we show that the problem is locally well posed in L1( R ); moreover, it has a measure valued solution if the initial data are a Dirac function. For a Banach space E and for 1 ? p < ∞ let ?p<∞ let LEp(μ) = LEp(S,B,μ) denote all Bochner p-integrable E-valued functions on a measure space (S,B,μ). Under study are convergence theorems for integrals of functions in LEp(μ) with respect to Nemytskii measures. Weak integrals are then denoted to Hammerstein operators, and a study of topologies generated by vector measures leads to a characterization of compact Hammerstein operators.  相似文献
