This paper investigates the existence of periodic solutions of a three-species food-chain diffusive system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional responses and time delays in a two-patch environment on time scales. By using a continuation theorem based on coincidence degree theory, we obtain sufficient criteria for the existence of periodic solutions for the system. Moreover, when the time scale T is chosen as R or Z, the existence of the periodic solutions of the corresponding continuous and discrete models follows. Therefore, the method is unified to provide the existence of the desired solutions for continuous differential equations and discrete difference equations.  相似文献

Abstract This paper is concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for a nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations. Abstract This paper deals with the existence of weak periodic solutions for a parabolic-elliptic system proposed as a model for a time dependent thermistor with degenerate thermal conductivity. ABSTRACT

This article is devoted to prove the existence of a non-negative solution for a degenerate parabolic strongly coupled system which arises from seawater intrusion model in confined aquifers. An approximate linear discretized in time scheme is then set up yielding to the existence result with no restriction on the space dimension. In this paper we investigate several properties of the stabilizing solution of a class of systems of Riccati type differential equations with indefinite sign associated to controlled systems described by differential equations with Markovian jumping.

We show that the existence of a bounded on R + and stabilizing solution for this class of systems of Riccati type differential equations is equivalent to the solvability of a control-theoretic problem, namely disturbance attenuation problem.

If the coefficients of the considered system are theta;-periodic functions then the stabilizing solution is also theta;-periodic and if the coefficients are asymptotic almost periodic functions, then the stabilizing solution is also asymptotic almost periodic and its almost periodic component is a stabilizing solution for a system of Riccati type differential equations defined on the whole real axis. One proves also that the existence of a stabilizing and bounded on R + solution of a system of Riccati differential equations with indefinite sign is equivalent to the existence of a solution to a corresponding system of matrix inequalities. Finally, a minimality property of the stabilizing solution is derived.  相似文献

Given two vectors u and v, their cross product u × v is a vector perpendicular to u and v. The motivation for this property, however, is never addressed. Here we show that the existence of the cross and dot products and the perpendicularity property follow from the concept of linear combination, which does not involve products of vectors. For our proof we consider the plane generated by a linear combination of uand v. When looking for the coefficients in the linear combination required to reach a desired point on the plane, the solution involves the existence of a normal vector n = u × v. Our results have a bearing on the history of vector analysis, as a product similar to the cross product but without the perpendicularity requirement existed at the same time. These competing products originate in the work of two major nineteen-century mathematicians, W. Hamilton, and H. Grassmann. These historical aspects are discussed in some detail here. We also address certain aspects of the teaching of u × v to undergraduate students, which is known to carry some difficulties. This includes the algebraic and geometric denitions of u × v, the rule for the direction of u × v, and the pseudovectorial nature of u × v.  相似文献

Abstract

We consider stochastic semilinear partial differential equations with Lipschitz nonlinear terms. We prove existence and uniqueness of an invariant measure and the existence of a solution for the corresponding Kolmogorov equation in the space L 2(H;ν), where ν is the invariant measure. We also prove the closability of the derivative operator and an integration by parts formula. Finally, under boundness conditions on the nonlinear term, we prove a Poincaré inequality, a logarithmic Sobolev inequality, and the ipercontractivity of the transition semigroup.  相似文献

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to transform a nonlinear stochastic partial differential equation of parabolic type with multiplicative noise into a random partial differential equation by using a bijective random process. A stationary conjugation is constructed, which is of interest for asymptotic problems. The conjugation is used here to prove the existence of the stochastic flow, the perfect cocycle property and the existence of the random attractor, all nontrivial properties in the case of multiplicative noise.  相似文献

The existence of a countable set of positive solutions for a nonlocal boundary-value problem with vector-valued response is investigated by some variational methods based on the idea of the Fenchel conjugate. As a consequence of a duality developed here, we obtain the existence of a countable set of solutions for our problem that are minimizers to a certain integral functional. We derive (also in the superlinear case) a measure of a duality gap between primal and dual functional for approximate solutions.  相似文献

Abstract. We prove that for bounded open sets Ω with continuous boundary, Sobolev spaces of type W 0 l,p (Ω ) are characterized by the zero extension outside of Ω . Combining this with a compactness result for domains of class C, we obtain a general existence theorem for shape optimization problems governed by nonlinear nonhomogenous Dirichlet boundary value problems of arbitrary order, in arbitrary dimension and with general cost functionals.  相似文献
