The chromium(III) complex species formed, in acidic and basic solutions at 25.0+/-0.1 degrees C, between Cr(III) and 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid (2,3-DHN-6-SA, H(2)L(2-)) and 4,5-dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid (4,5-DHN-2,7-DSA, H(2)L(-)) were determined. Over the acidic pH range, the coordination of 2,3-DHN-6-SA and 4,5-DHN-2,7-DSA to Cr(III) in 1 : 1 mole ratio occurs, and CrL and CrL(-) type complexes are formed. At near neutral pH, CrL(OH)(-) and CrL(OH)(2-) type hydroxo complexes are formed. The acid-dissociation constants of ligands and the formation constants of chromium(III) complexes were determined in 0.1 m KNO(3) ionic medium by potentiometric titration using the BEST computer program. Thus, the removing capacities of these ligands could be examined by calculating the equilibrium concentration of Cr(III) that exists in the discharge water of various industries since Cr(III) ions are the main pollutants present during waste water treatment in our city, Bursa.  相似文献

The complexes of chromium(III) ion formed by salicylic acid, SA(H(2)L), and its derivatives (H(2)L): 5-nitrosalicylic acid (5-NSA), 5-sulphosalicylic acid (5-SSA) were investigated by means of potentiometry and spectroscopy, at 25 degrees C and in ionic strength of 0.1 M KNO(3) and 0.1 M KCl, respectively. Over the acidic pH range, the coordination of Cr(III) ion to SA and its derivatives in 1 : 1 mole ratio occurs, CrL(+) type complex is formed. In the excess of ligand, the coordination of the second ligand molecule is somewhat hindered; as a result CrL(HL) type complex occurs. Their existences were verified and their formation constants were determined. At near neutral pH, CrL(OH) and CrL(HL)(OH)(-) type hydroxo complexes formed by hydrolytic equilibria and their formation constants were also defined. The stabilities of Cr(III) complexes of SA and its derivatives decrease in the following order: SA>5-SSA>5-NSA. The formation constants of Cr(III) complexes of SA and its derivatives are in comparable ranges with the corresponding complexes of the 2,x-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,x-DHBA) of Cr(III) ion. The stabilities of SA complexes for V(IV), Cr(III) and Fe(III) ions that have similar ionic radii, increase in the order VOL相似文献

A novel bis(oxalato)chromium(III) salt of a ferromagnetically coupled, oxalato-bridged dinuclear chromium(III)-cobalt(II) complex of formula [CrL(ox)(2)CoL'(H(2)O)(2)][CrL(ox)(2)]·4H(2)O (1) has been self-assembled in solution using different aromatic α,α'-diimines as blocking ligands, such as 2,2'-bipyridine (L = bpy) and 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (L' = Me(2)phen). Thermal dehydration of 1 leads to an intriguing solid-state reaction between the S = 3/2 Cr(III) anions and the S = 3 Cr(III)Co(II) cations to give a ferromagnetically coupled, oxalato-bridged trinuclear chromium(III)-cobalt(II) complex of formula {[CrL(ox)(2)](2)CoL'} (2). Complex 2 possesses a moderately anisotropic S = 9/2 Cr(III)(2)Co(II) ground state, and it exhibits slow magnetic relaxation behavior at very low temperatures (T(B) < 2.0 K).  相似文献

Intermediates of chromium-salen catalyzed alkene epoxidations were studied in situ by EPR, (1)H and (2)H NMR, and UV-vis/NIR spectroscopy (where chromium-salens were (S,S)-(+)-N,N'-bis(3,5-di-tert-butylsalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamino chromium(III) chloride (1) and racemic N,N'-bis(3,4,5,6-tetra-deuterosalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamino chromium(III) chloride (2)). High-valence chromium complexes, intermediates of epoxidation reactions, were detected and characterized by EPR and NMR. They are the reactive mononuclear oxochromium(V) intermediate (A) Cr(V)O(salen)L (where L = Cl(-) or a solvent molecule) and an inactive chromium-salen binuclear complex (B) which acts as a reservoir of the active species. The latter complex demonstrates an EPR signal characteristic of oxochromium(V)-salen species and (1)H NMR spectra typical for chromium(III)-salen complexes, and it is identified as mixed-valence binuclear L(1)(salen)Cr(III)OCr(V)(salen)L(2) (L(1), L(2) = Cl(-) or solvent molecules). The intermediates Cr(V)O(salen)L and L(1)(salen)Cr(III)OCr(V)(salen)L(2) exist in equilibrium, and their ratio can be affected by addition of donor ligands (DMSO, DMF, H(2)O, pyridine). Addition of donor additives increases the fraction of A over that of B. The same two complexes can be obtained with m-CPBA as oxidant. Reactivities of the Cr(V)O(salen)L complexes toward E-beta-methylstyrene were measured in DMF. The L(1)(salen)Cr(III)OCr(V)(salen)L(2) intermediate has been proposed to be a reservoir of the true reactive chromium(V) species. The chromium-salen catalysts demonstrate low turnover numbers (ca. 5), probably due to ligand degradation processes.  相似文献

The extraction of gallium(III) with newly prepared 5-alkyloxymethyl-8-quinolinol derivatives with alkyl substituent at the 2-position in 8-quinolinol moiety has been studied. The Ga(III)-5-octyloxymethyl-8-quinolinol (HO(8)Q), Ga(III)-2-methyl-5-octyloxymethyl-8-quinolinol (HMO(8)Q), Ga(III)-2-methyl-5-hexyloxymethyl-8-quinolinol (HM-O(6)Q), and Ga(HI)-2-n-butyl-5-hexyloxymethyl-8-quinolinol (HNBO(6)Q) complexes extracted in heptane from a perchloric acid medium were Ga(O(8)Q)(3), Ga(OH)(H(2)O)(MO(8)Q)(2), Ga(OH)(H(2)O)(MO(6)Q)(2) and Ga(OH)H(2)O)(NBO(6)Q)(2), respectively. The 2-tert-butyl-5-hexyloxymethyl-8-quinolinol did not exhibit any reactivity toward gallium(III). The extraction constants for Ga(O(8)Q)(3) (K(ex) = [Ga(O(8)Q)(3)](org) [H(+)](3)/[Ga(3+)][HO(8)Q](org)(3)), Ga(OH)(H(2)O)(MO(8)Q)(2) (K(ex) = [Ga(OH) (H(2)O)(MO(8)Q)(2)](org) [H(+)](3)/[Ga(3+)][HMO(8)Q](org)(2)), Ga(OH)(H(2)O)(2)(MO(6)Q)(2) and Ga(OH)(H(2)O)(NBO(6)Q)(2), which were extracted in heptane from an acidic solution, are 10(3.21 +/- 0.12), 10(-4.24 +/- 0.16), 10(-3.84 +/- 0.16) and 10(-4.07 +/- 0.07), respectively at I = 0.1 M and 25 degrees C. HNBO(6)Q exhibited very high selectivity toward gallium(III) in the presence of aluminum(III). Even in the presence of a 100 fold excess of aluminum(III) to gallium(III) (1.43 x 10(-5) M), gallium(III) was completely extracted and the distribution ratio of aluminum(III) was found to be less than 2.0 x 10(-3).  相似文献

The reaction of [NiBr(2)(bpy)(2)] (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) with organic phosphinic acids ArP(O)(OH)H [Ar = Ph, 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl (Mes), 9-anthryl (Ant)] leads to the formation of binuclear nickel(II) complexes with bridging ArP(H)O(2)(-) ligands. Crystal structures of the binuclear complexes [Ni(2)(μ-O(2)P(H)Ar)(2)(bpy)(4)]Br(2) (Ar = Ph, Mes, Ant) have been determined. In each structure, the metal ions have distorted octahedral coordination and are doubly bridged by two arylphosphinato ligands. Magnetic susceptibility measurements have shown that these complexes display strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the two nickel atoms at low temperatures, apparently similar to binuclear nickel(II) complexes with bridging carboxylato ligands. Cyclic voltammetry and in situ EPR spectroelectrochemistry show that these complexes can be electrochemically reduced and oxidized with the formation of Ni(I),Ni(0)/Ni(III) derivatives.  相似文献

Complexes 3-13 can all be regarded as metallo-cryptand encapsulated lanthanides in which the central lanthanide ion is captivated within a [Co(II)(6)] trigonal prism. dc and ac magnetic susceptibility studies have been carried out in the 2-300 K range for complexes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, and 13, revealing the possibility of single molecule magnetism behavior for complex 10.  相似文献

The structures and magnetic properties of four isomorphous nonanuclear heterometallic complexes [Na(2){Mn(3)(III)(μ(3)-O(2-))}(2)Ln(III)(hmmp)(6)(O(2)CPh)(4)(N(3))(2)]OH·0.5 CH(3)CN·1.5H(2)O are reported, where Ln(III) = Eu (1), Gd (2), Tb (3) and Dy (4), H(2)hmmp = 2-[(2-hydroxyethylimino)methyl]-6-methoxyphenol. Complexes 1-4 were prepared by the reactions of hmmpH(2) with a manganese salt and the respective lanthanide salt together with NaO(2)CPh and NaN(3). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that the six Mn(III) and one Ln(III) metal topology in the aggregate can be described as a bitetrahedron. The two peripheral [Mn(III)(3)(μ(3)-O(2-))](7+) triangles are each bonded to a central Ln(III) ion with rare distorted octahedral geometry. The magnetic properties of all the complexes were investigated using variable temperature magnetic susceptibility and both antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic interactions exist in the [Mn(III)(3)(μ(3)-O(2-))](7+) triangle. Weak ferromagnetic exchange between the Ln(III) and Mn(III) ions has been established for the corresponding Gd derivative. The Gd, Tb and Dy complexes show no evidence of slow relaxation behaviour above 2.0 K.  相似文献

Two novel heterobimetallic complexes of formula [Cr(bpy)(ox)(2)Co(Me(2)phen)(H(2)O)(2)][Cr(bpy)(ox)(2)]·4H(2)O (1) and [Cr(phen)(ox)(2)Mn(phen)(H(2)O)(2)][Cr(phen)(ox)(2)]·H(2)O (2) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, and Me(2)phen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) have been obtained through the "complex-as-ligand/complex-as-metal" strategy by using Ph(4)P[CrL(ox)(2)]·H(2)O (L = bpy and phen) and [ML'(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2) (M = Co and Mn; L' = phen and Me(2)phen) as precursors. The X-ray crystal structures of 1 and 2 consist of bis(oxalato)chromate(III) mononuclear anions, [Cr(III)L(ox)(2)](-), and oxalato-bridged chromium(III)-cobalt(II) and chromium(III)-manganese(II) dinuclear cations, [Cr(III)L(ox)(μ-ox)M(II)L'(H(2)O)(2)](+)[M = Co, L = bpy, and L' = Me(2)phen (1); M = Mn and L = L' = phen (2)]. These oxalato-bridged Cr(III)M(II) dinuclear cationic entities of 1 and 2 result from the coordination of a [Cr(III)L(ox)(2)](-) unit through one of its two oxalato groups toward a [M(II)L'(H(2)O)(2)](2+) moiety with either a trans- (M = Co) or a cis-diaqua (M = Mn) configuration. The two distinct Cr(III) ions in 1 and 2 adopt a similar trigonally compressed octahedral geometry, while the high-spin M(II) ions exhibit an axially (M = Co) or trigonally compressed (M = Mn) octahedral geometry in 1 and 2, respectively. Variable temperature (2.0-300 K) magnetic susceptibility and variable-field (0-5.0 T) magnetization measurements for 1 and 2 reveal the presence of weak intramolecular ferromagnetic interactions between the Cr(III) (S(Cr) = 3/2) ion and the high-spin Co(II) (S(Co) = 3/2) or Mn(II) (S(Mn) = 5/2) ions across the oxalato bridge within the Cr(III)M(II) dinuclear cationic entities (M = Co and Mn) [J = +2.2 (1) and +1.2 cm(-1) (2); H = -JS(Cr)·S(M)]. Density functional electronic structure calculations for 1 and 2 support the occurrence of S = 3 Cr(III)Co(II) and S = 4 Cr(III)Mn(II) ground spin states, respectively. A simple molecular orbital analysis of the electron exchange mechanism suggests a subtle competition between individual ferro- and antiferromagnetic contributions through the σ- and/or π-type pathways of the oxalato bridge, mainly involving the d(yz)(Cr)/d(xy)(M), d(xz)(Cr)/d(xy)(M), d(x(2)-y(2))(Cr)/d(xy)(M), d(yz)(Cr)/d(xz)(M), and d(xz)(Cr)/d(yz)(M) pairs of orthogonal magnetic orbitals and the d(x(2)-y(2))(Cr)/d(x(2)-y(2))(M), d(xz)(Cr)/d(xz)(M), and d(yz)(Cr)/d(yz)(M) pairs of nonorthogonal magnetic orbitals, which would be ultimately responsible for the relative magnitude of the overall ferromagnetic coupling in 1 and 2.  相似文献

The reactivity of cobalt(II) salts towards H(3)L (2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-bis[4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-azabut-3-enyl]-1,3-imidazolidine) was studied in different reaction conditions. Accordingly, the interaction of cobalt(II) acetate with H(3)L in methanol gives rise to the discrete complex [Co(III)(2)L(OAc)(2)(OMe)]*1.5H(2)O.MeOH, 1. Reaction of cobalt(II) acetylacetonate with H(3)L in the presence of dicarboxylic acids was also investigated. Thus, when cobalt(II) acetylacetonate and H(3)L are mixed with terephthalic or malonic acid in 4 : 2 : 1 molar ratios, the mixed valent [Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(p-O(2)CC(6)H(4)CO(2)H)][Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(OH)]*2H(2)O*2MeOH, 2 and [Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2)H)][Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(OH)]*7H(2)O, complexes are isolated. Decreasing the pH of the medium, by addition of a second mol of dicarboxylic acid, leads to [Co(II/III)(2)L(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2))(MeOH)]*2MeOH, 4, while the reaction with terephthalic acid does not proceed. 1, 2 and 4 were crystallographically characterised and all the complexes are dinuclear, with hydrogen bonds that expand the initial nodes. The magnetic characterisation, as well as the NMR spectroscopy, indicates a diamagnetic nature for 1, in agreement with the presence of Co(III), showing the aerial oxidation suffered by the cobalt(II) ions. Nevertheless, are paramagnetic. Temperature variable magnetic measurements were recorded for the crystallographically characterised complexes 2 and 4 and these studies confirm the mixed valence Co(II)/Co(III) nature of the compounds. The best fits of the magnetic data give an axial distortion parameter Delta = 628.7 cm(-1) for 2 and 698.8 cm(-1) for 4, and spin-orbit coupling constant lambda = -117.8 cm(-1) for 2 and -107.0 cm(-1) for 4. Therefore, this study shows that the oxidation degree of the initial cobalt(ii) salt by atmospheric oxygen can be controlled according to the pH of the medium.  相似文献

Two Anderson-type heteropolyanion-supported copper phenanthroline complexes, [Al(OH)6Mo6O18[Cu(phen)(H2O)2]2]1+ (1c) and [Al(OH)6Mo6O18[Cu(phen)(H2O)Cl]2]1- (1a) complement their charges in one of the title compounds [Al(OH)6Mo6O18[Cu(phen)(H2O)2]2][Al(OH)6Mo6O18[Cu(phen)(H2O)Cl]2].5H2O [1c][1a].5 H2O 1. Similar charge complementarity exists in the chromium analogue, [Cr(OH)6Mo6O18[Cu(phen)(H2O)2]2][Cr(OH)6Mo6O18[Cu(phen)(H2O)Cl]2].5 H2O [2c][2a].5 H2O 2. The chloride coordination to copper centers of 1a and 2a makes the charge difference. In both compounds, the geometries around copper centers are distorted square pyramidal and those around aluminum/chromium centers are distorted octahedral. Three lattice waters, from the formation of intermolecular O-H.....O hydrogen bonds, have been shown to self-assemble into an "acyclic water trimer" in the crystals of both 1 and 2. The title compounds have been synthesized in a simple one pot aqueous wet-synthesis consisting of aluminum/chromium chloride, sodium molybdate, copper nitrate, phenanthroline, and hydrochloric acid, and characterized by elemental analyses, EDAX, IR, diffuse reflectance, EPR, TGA, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both compounds crystallize in the triclinic space group P. Crystal data for 1: a = 10.7618(6), b = 15.0238(8), c = 15.6648(8) angstroms, alpha = 65.4570(10), beta = 83.4420(10), gamma = 71.3230(10), V = 2182.1(2) angstroms3. Crystal data for 2: a = 10.8867(5), b = 15.2504(7), c = 15.7022(7) angstroms, alpha = 64.9850(10), beta = 83.0430(10), gamma = 71.1570(10), V = 2235.47(18) angstroms3. In the electronic reflectance spectra, compounds 1 and 2 exhibit a broad d-d band at approximately 700 nm, which is a considerable shift with respect to the value of 650-660 nm for a square-pyramidal [Cu(phen)2L] complex, indicating the coordination of [M(OH)6Mo6O18]3- POM anions (as a ligand) to the monophenanthroline copper complexes to form POM-supported copper complexes 1c, 1a, 2c, and 2a. The ESR spectrum of compound 1 shows a typical axial signal for a Cu2+ (d9) system, and that of compound 2, containing both chromium(III) and copper(II) ions, may reveal a zero-field-splitting of the central Cr3+ ion of the Anderson anion, [Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]3-, with an intense peak for the Cu2+ ion.  相似文献

The reaction of [Fe(III)L(CN)(3)](-) (L being bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate, pcq = 8-(pyridine-2-carboxamido)quinoline) or [Fe(III)(bpb)(CN)(2)](-) (bpb = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate) ferric complexes with Mn(III) salen type complexes afforded seven new bimetallic cyanido-bridged Mn(III)-Fe(III) systems: [Fe(pcq)(CN)(3)Mn(saltmen)(CH(3)OH)]·CH(3)OH (1), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(3-MeO-salen)(OH(2))]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O (2), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(salpen)] (3), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(saltmen)] (4), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(5-Me-saltmen)]·2CHCl(3) (5), [Fe(pcq)(CN)(3)Mn(5-Me-saltmen)]·2CH(3)OH·0.75H(2)O (6), and [Fe(bpb)(CN)(2)Mn(saltmen)]·2CH(3)OH (7) (with saltmen(2-) = N,N'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene)bis(salicylideneiminato) dianion, salpen(2-) = N,N'-propylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion, salen(2-) = N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion). Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies were carried out for all these compounds indicating that compounds 1 and 2 are discrete dinuclear [Fe(III)-CN-Mn(III)] complexes while systems 3-7 are heterometallic chains with {-NC-Fe(III)-CN-Mn(III)} repeating units. These chains are connected through π-π and short contact interactions to form extended supramolecular networks. Investigation of the magnetic properties revealed the occurrence of antiferromagnetic Mn(III)···Fe(III) interactions in 1-4 while ferromagnetic Mn(III)···Fe(III) interactions were detected in 5-7. The nature of these Mn(III)···Fe(III) magnetic interactions mediated by a CN bridge appeared to be dependent on the Schiff base substituent. The packing is also strongly affected by the nature of the substituent and the presence of solvent molecules, resulting in additional antiferromagnetic interdinuclear/interchain interactions. Thus the crystal packing and the supramolecular interactions induce different magnetic properties for these systems. The dinuclear complexes 1 and 2, which possess a paramagnetic S(T) = 3/2 ground state, interact antiferromagnetically in their crystal packing. At high temperature, the complexes 3-7 exhibit a one-dimensional magnetic behavior, but at low temperature their magnetic properties are modulated by the supramolecular arrangement: a three-dimensional antiferromagnetic order with a metamagnetic behavior is observed for 3, 4, and 7, and Single-Chain Magnet properties are detected for 5 and 6.  相似文献

Discrete dinuclear and polymeric heterometallic copper(II)-lanthanide(III) complexes have been synthesized upon variation of pH and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. Reactions of the ligand Htza (tetrazole-1-acetic acid) with copper(II) and lanthanide(III) salts gave dinuclear [CuLn(tza)4(H2O)5Cl] complexes at the low pH of 3.5 and 2D heterometallic coordination polymers with high-nuclearity [{Cu2(OH)2}2{Cu12Ln6(mu3-OH)24(Cl)(1/2)(NO3)(1/2)(tza)12(H2O)18}](NO3)(9).8H2O (Ln = Gd or Nd) at a higher pH of 6.6. The acidity of the reaction solution can cause drastic changes in the structures of the products. In the dinuclear complexes, each pair of adjacent dinuclear molecules is linked through hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions, and the whole structure is a hydrogen-bonded three-dimensional cubic net. In the coordination polymers, the connecting nodes are [Cu12Ln6] units, which are interconnected by [Cu2O2] units into two-dimensional structures. Magnetic studies exhibit the existence of weak exchange interactions between the Cu(II) and Ln(III) ions bridged by carboxylate and hydroxy ligands.  相似文献

1, 1'-(3-Oxapentamethylene)dicyclopentadiene [O(CH(2)CH(2)C(5)H(5))(2)], containing a flexible chain-bridged group, was synthesized by the reaction of sodium cyclopentadienide with bis(2-chloroethyl) ether through a slightly modified literature procedure. Furthermore, the binuclear cobalt(III) complex O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(CO)I(2)](2) and insoluble polynuclear rhodium(III) complex {O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))RhI(2)](2)}(n) were obtained from reactions of with the corresponding metal fragments and they react easily with PPh(3) to give binuclear metal complexes, O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(PPh(3))I(2)](2) and O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Rh(PPh(3))I(2)](2), respectively. Complexes react with bidentate dilithium dichalcogenolato ortho-carborane to give eight binuclear half-sandwich ortho-carboranedichalcogenolato cobalt(III) and rhodium(III) complexes O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(PPh(3))(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10))](2) (E = S and Se), O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))](2)Co(2)(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10)) (E = S and Se), O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Co(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10))](2) (E = S and Se and O[CH(2)CH(2)(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))Rh(PPh(3))(E(2)C(2)B(10)H(10))](2) (E = S and Se). All complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, NMR spectra ((1)H, (13)C, (31)P and (11)B NMR) and IR spectroscopy. The molecular structures were determined by X-ray diffractometry.  相似文献

Herein, we report the synthesis, structural investigation, and magnetic and photophysical properties of a series of 13 [Zn(II)Ln(III)] heterodinuclear complexes, which have been obtained employing a Schiff-base compartmental ligand derived from o-vanillin [H(2)valpn = 1,3-propanediylbis(2-iminomethylene-6-methoxy-phenol)]. The complexes have been synthesized starting from the [Zn(valpn)(H(2)O)] mononuclear compound and the corresponding lanthanide nitrates. The crystallographic investigation indicated two structural types: the first one, [Zn(H(2)O)(valpn)Ln(III)(O(2)NO)(3)], contains 10-coordinated Ln(III) ions, while in the second one, [Zn(ONO(2))(valpn)Ln(III)(H(2)O)(O(2)NO)(2)]·2H(2)O, the rare earth ions are nine-coordinated. The Zn(II) ions always display a square-pyramidal geometry. The first structural type encompasses the larger Ln ions (4f(0)-4f(9)), while the second is found for the smaller ions (4f(8)-4f(11)). The dysprosium derivative crystallizes in both forms. Luminescence studies for the heterodinuclear compounds containing Nd(III), Sm(III), Tb(III), Dy(III), and Yb(III) revealed that the [Zn(valpn)(H(2)O)] moiety acts as an antenna. The magnetic properties for the paramagnetic [Zn(II)Ln(III)] complexes have been investigated.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterizations of a family of isomorphous [Mn(III)(2)M(III)(4)L(2)(μ(4)-O)(2)(N(3))(2)(CH(3)O)(2)(CH(3)OH)(4)(NO(3))(2)]·2H(2)O (M = Y(1), Gd(2), Tb(3), Dy(4)) are reported, where H(4)L = N,N'-dihydroxyethyl-N,N'-(2-hydroxy-4,5-dimethylbenzyl)ethylenediamine. They were obtained from the reactions of H(4)L with M(NO(3))(3)·6H(2)O, Mn(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O, NaN(3) and NEt(3) in a 1?:?1?:?1?:?2?:?2 molar ratio. The core structure consists of a Mn(2)M(4) unit. The four M(III) ions that are held together by two μ(4)-bridging oxygen atoms form a butterfly M(4) moiety. The M(4) core is further connected to the two five-coordinate trigonal-bipyramidal Mn(III) ions via one μ(4)-O(2-), two alkyloxo and one methoxo triple bridges. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate the presence of intramolecular antiferromagnetic interactions in complex 2, and overall intramolecular ferromagnetic interactions in complexes 3 and 4. The alternating current (AC) magnetic susceptibility studies revealed that complexes 3 and 4 showed frequency-dependent out-of-phase signals, which indicates that they exhibit slow relaxation of the magnetization.  相似文献

Proton-driven ligand dissociation kinetics in the presence of chloride, bromide, and nitrate ions have been investigated for model siderophore complexes of Fe(III) with the mono- and dihydroxamic acid ligands R(1)C(=O)N(OH)R(2) (R(1) = CH(3), R(2) = H; R(1) = CH(3), R(2) = CH(3); R(1) = C(6)H(5), R(2) = H; R(1) = C(6)H(5), R(2) = C(6)H(5)) and CH(3)N(OH)C(=O)[CH(2)](n)C(=O)N(OH)CH(3) (H(2)L(n); n = 2, 4, 6). Significant rate acceleration in the presence of chloride ion is observed for ligand dissociation from the bis(hydroxamate)- and mono(hydroxamate)-bound complexes. Rate acceleration was also observed in the presence of bromide and nitrate ions but to a lesser extent. A mechanism for chloride ion catalysis of ligand dissociation is proposed which involves chloride ion dependent parallel paths with transient Cl(-) coordination to Fe(III). The labilizing effect of Cl(-) results in an increase in microscopic rate constants on the order of 10(2)-10(3). Second-order rate constants for the proton driven dissociation of dinuclear Fe(III) complexes formed with H(2)L(n)() were found to vary with Fe-Fe distance. An analysis of these data permits us to propose a reactive intermediate of the structure (H(2)O)(4)Fe(L(n)())Fe(HL(n))(Cl)(OH(2))(2+) for the chloride ion dependent ligand dissociation path. Environmental and biological implications of chloride ion enhancement of Fe(III)-ligand dissociation reactions are presented.  相似文献

Three novel tetranuclear vanadium(III) or (IV) complexes bridged by diphenyl phosphate or phosphate were prepared and their structures characterized by X-ray crystallography. The novel complexes are [{V(III)(2)(μ-hpnbpda)}(2){μ-(C(6)H(5)O)(2)PO(2)}(2)(μ-O)(2)]·6CH(3)OH (1), [{V(III)(2)(μ-tphpn)(μ-η(3)-HPO(4))}(2)(μ-η(4)-PO(4))](ClO(4))(3)·4.5H(2)O (2), and [{(V(IV)O)(2)(μ-tphpn)}(2)(μ-η(4)-PO(4))](ClO(4))(3)·H(2)O (3), where hpnbpda and tphpn are alkoxo-bridging dinucleating ligands. H(3)hpnbpda represents 2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diamino-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-N,N'-diacetic acid, and Htphpn represents N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-2-hydroxy-1,3-propanediamine. A dinuclear vanadium(IV) complex without a phosphate bridge, [(VO)(2)(μ-tphpn)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(3)·2H(2)O (4), was also prepared and structurally characterized for comparison. The vanadium(III) center in 1 adopts a hexacoordinate structure while that in 2 adopts a heptacoordinate structure. In 1, the two dinuclear vanadium(III) units bridged by the alkoxo group of hpnbpda are further linked by two diphenylphosphato and two oxo groups, resulting in a dimer-of-dimers. In 2, the two vanadium(III) units bridged by tphpn are further bridged by three phosphate ions with two different coordination modes. Complex 2 is oxidized in aerobic solution to yield complex 3, in which two of the three phosphate groups in 2 are substituted by oxo groups.  相似文献

Aqueous chromium(II) ions reduce a macrocyclic Rh(III) complex L(1)(H(2)O)(2)Rh(3+) (L(1) = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) to the hydride L(1)(H(2)O)RhH(2+) in two discrete, one-electron steps. The first step generates L(1)(H(2)O)Rh(2+) with kinetics that are first order in each rhodium(III) complex and Cr(H(2)O)(6)(2+), and inverse in [H(+)], k/M(-1) s(-1) = 0.065/(0.0031 + [H(+)]). Further reduction of L(1)(H(2)O)Rh(2+) to L(1)(H(2)O)RhH(2+) is kinetically independent of [H(+)], k/M(-1) s(-1) = 0.30. The difference in [H(+)] dependence allows relative rates of the two steps to be manipulated to generate either L(1)(H(2)O)Rh(2+) or L(1)(H(2)O)RhH(2+) as the final product.  相似文献

Heteronuclear cationic complexes, [LCuLn]3+ and [(LCu)2Ln]3+, were employed as nodes in designing high-nuclearity complexes and coordination polymers with a rich variety of network topologies (L is the dianion of the Schiff base resulting from the 2:1 condensation of 3-methoxysalycilaldehyde with 1,3-propanediamine). Two families of linkers have been chosen: the first consists of exo-dentate ligands bearing nitrogen-donor atoms (bipyridine (bipy), dicyanamido (dca)), whereas the second consists of exo-dentate ligands with oxygen-donor atoms (anions derived from the acetylenedicarboxylic (H2acdca), fumaric (H2fum), trimesic (H3trim), and oxalic (H2ox) acids). The ligands belonging to the first family prefer copper(II) ions, whereas the ligands from the second family interact preferentially with oxophilic rare-earth cations. The following complexes have been obtained and crystallographically characterized: [LCu(II)(OH2)Gd(III)(NO3)3] (1), [{LCu(II)Gd(III)(NO3)3}2(mu-4,4'-bipy)] (2), 1infinity[LCu(II)Gd(III)(acdca)(1.5)(H2O)2].13H2O (3), 2infinity[LCu(II)Gd(III)(fum)(1.5)(H2O)2].4H2O.C2H5OH (4), 1infinity[LCu(II)Sm(III)(H2O)(Hfum)(fum)] (5), 1infinity[LCu(II)Er(III)(H2O)2(fum)]NO3.3H2O (6), 2infinity[LCu(II)Sm(III)(fum)(1.5)(H2O)2].4H2O.C2H5OH (7), [{(LCu(II))2Sm(III)}2fum2](OH)2 (8), 1infinity[LCu(II)Gd(III)(trim)(H2O)2].H2O (9), 2infinity[{(LCu(II))2Pr(III)}(C2O4)(0.5)(dca)]dca.2H2O (10), [LCu(II)Gd(III)(ox)(H2O)3][Cr(III)(2,2'-bipy)(ox)2].9H2O (11), and [LCuGd(H2O)4{Cr(CN)6}].3H2O (12). Compound 1 is representative of the whole family of binuclear Cu(II)-Ln(III) complexes which have been used as precursors in constructing heteropolymetallic complexes. The rich variety of the resulting structures is due to several factors: 1) the nature of the donor atoms of the linkers, 2) the preference of the copper(II) ion for nitrogen atoms, 3) the oxophilicity of the lanthanides, 4) the degree of deprotonation of the polycarboxylic acids, 5) the various connectivity modes exhibited by the carboxylato groups, and 6) the stoichiometry of the final products, that is, the Cu(II)/Ln(III)/linker molar ratio. A unique cluster formed by 24 water molecules was found in crystal 11. In compounds 2, 3, 4, 9, and 11 the Cu(II)-Gd(III) exchange interaction was found to be ferromagnetic, with J values in the range of 3.53-8.96 cm(-1). Compound 12 represents a new example of a polynuclear complex containing three different paramagnetic ions. The intranode Cu(II)-Gd(III) ferromagnetic interaction is overwhelmed by the antiferromagnetic interactions occurring between the cyanobridged Gd(III) and Cr(III) ions.  相似文献
