We present a conspicuous number of indefinite integrals involving Heun functions and their products obtained by means of the Lagrangian formulation of a general homogeneous linear ordinary differential equation. As a by-product we also derive new indefinite integrals involving the Gauss hypergeometric function and products of hypergeometric functions with elliptic functions of the first kind. All integrals we obtained cannot be computed using Maple and Mathematica.  相似文献

Elliott's identity involving the Gaussian hypergeometric series contains, as a special case, the classical Legendre identity for complete elliptic integrals. The aim of this paper is to derive a differentiation formula for an expression involving the Gaussian hypergeometric series, which, for appropriate values of the parameters, implies Elliott's identity and which also leads to concavity/convexity properties of certain related functions. We also show that Elliott's identity is equivalent to a formula of Ramanujan on the differentiation of quotients of hypergeometric functions. Applying these results we obtain a number of identities associated with the Legendre functions of the first and the second kinds, respectively.  相似文献

A new result for integrals involving the product of Bessel functions and Associated Laguerre polynomials is obtained in terms of the hypergeometric function. Some special cases of the general integral lead to interesting finite and infinite series representations of hypergeometric functions.  相似文献

We present a weighted norm inequality involving convolutions of arbitrary analytic functions and certain confluent hypergeometric functions. This result implies a family of weighted norm inequalities both for entire functions of exponential type and for (generalized) hypergeometric series. The approach is based on author's general inequality for continuous functions and some hypergeometric transformations.  相似文献

With the help of some techniques based upon certain inverse pairs of symbolic operators, the authors investigate several decomposition formulas associated with Srivastava's hypergeometric functions HA, HB and HC in three variables. Many operator identities involving these pairs of symbolic operators are first constructed for this purpose. By means of these operator identities, as many as 15 decomposition formulas are then found, which express the aforementioned triple hypergeometric functions in terms of such simpler functions as the products of the Gauss and Appell hypergeometric functions. Other closely-related results are also considered briefly.  相似文献

In this paper authors prove a general theorem on generating relations for a certain sequence of functions. Many formulas involving the families of generating functions for generalized hypergeometric polynomials are shown here to be special cases of a general class of generating functions involving generalized hypergeometric polynomials and multiple hypergeometric series of several variables. It is then shown how the main result can be applied to derive a large number of generating functions involving hypergeometric functions of Kampé de Fériet, Srivastava, Srivastava-Daoust, Chaundy, Fasenmyer, Cohen, Pasternack, Khandekar, Rainville and other multiple Gaussian hypergeometric polynomials scattered in the literature of special functions.  相似文献

In the present paper, our aim is to establish several formulas involving integral transforms, fractional derivatives, and a certain family of extended generalized hypergeometric functions. As corollaries and consequences, many interesting results are shown to follow from our main results. A probability density function involving the extended generalized hypergeometric function is introduced, and its properties are studied. The corresponding properties of some of the classical probability distributions and their associated probability density functions are easily derivable as special cases of our general results. A method is given for deriving indefinite integrals involving squares and other products of functions which are solutions of second-order linear differential equations. Several variations of the method are presented, which applies directly to functions which obey homogeneous differential equations. However, functions which obey inhomogeneous equations can be incorporated into the products and examples are given of integrals involving products of Bessel functions combined with Lommel, Anger and Weber functions. Many new integrals are derived for a selection of special functions, including Bessel functions, associated Legendre functions, and elliptic integrals. A number of integrals of products of Gauss hypergeometric functions are also presented, which seem to be the first integrals of this type. All results presented have been numerically checked with Mathematica.  相似文献

Inequalities satisfied by the zeros of the solutions of second-order hypergeometric equations are derived through a systematic use of Liouville transformations together with the application of classical Sturm theorems. This systematic study allows us to improve previously known inequalities and to extend their range of validity as well as to discover inequalities which appear to be new. Among other properties obtained, Szegő's bounds on the zeros of Jacobi polynomials for , are completed with results for the rest of parameter values, Grosjean's inequality (J. Approx. Theory 50 (1987) 84) on the zeros of Legendre polynomials is shown to be valid for Jacobi polynomials with |β|1, bounds on ratios of consecutive zeros of Gauss and confluent hypergeometric functions are derived as well as an inequality involving the geometric mean of zeros of Bessel functions.  相似文献

With the help of hypergeometric functions over finite fields, we study some arithmetic properties of cyclotomic matrices involving characters and binary quadratic forms over finite fields. Also, we confirm some related conjectures posed by Zhi-Wei Sun.  相似文献

Several integral inequalities for the classical hypergeometric, confluent hypergeometric, and confluent hypergeometric limit functions are given. The related results for Bessel and Whittaker functions as well as for Laguerre, Hermite, and Jacobi polynomials are discussed.  相似文献

The main object of this paper is to investigate several general families of hypergeometric polynomials and their associated single-, double-, and triple-integral representations. Some known or new consequences of the general results presented here, involving such classical orthogonal polynomials as the Jacobi, Laguerre, Hermite, and Bessel polynomials, and various other relatively less familiar hypergeometric polynomials, are also considered. Each of the integral representations, which are derived in this paper, may be viewed also as a linearization relationship for the product of two different members of the associated family of hypergeometric polynomials.  相似文献

Using series iteration techniques, we derive a number of general double series identities and apply each of these identities in order to deduce several hypergeometric reduction formulas involving the Srivastava-Daoust double hypergeometric function. The results presented in this article are based essentially upon the hypergeometric summation theorems of Kummer and Dixon.  相似文献

In this paper, we extend some known elementary trigonometric inequalities, and their hyperbolic analogues to Bessel and modified Bessel functions of the first kind. In order to prove our main results, we present some monotonicity and convexity properties of some functions involving Bessel and modified Bessel functions of the first kind. We also deduce some Turán and Lazarević-type inequalities for the confluent hypergeometric functions.  相似文献

We construct three types of solutions for a Fuchsian equation with variable indices: (1) branched solutions involving logarithms of the time variable t; (2) solutions involving tx, where x is a space variable; and, (3) for a model case, exact solutions involving hypergeometric functions. These three solutions have completely different singularities. The constructions are given in a form suitable for application to more general equations. As an illustration, we resolve in particular an apparent discrepancy between two recent results on this problem.  相似文献

We prove some convexity properties for a sum of hypergeometric functions and obtain a generalization of Legendre's relation for complete elliptic integrals. We apply these results to prove some inequalities for hypergeometric functions, incomplete beta-functions, and Legendre functions.  相似文献

Based upon the classical derivative and integral operators we introduce a new operator which allows the derivation of new symbolic operational images for hypergeometric functions. By means of these symbolic operational images a number of decomposition formulas involving quadruple series are then found. Other closely-related results are also considered.  相似文献

We have studied the asymptotics of two special two-matrix hypergeometric functions. The validity of the asymptotic expressions for these functions is seen in several selected numerical comparisons between the exact and asymptotic results. These hypergeometric functions find applications in configuration statistics of macromolecules as well as multivariate statistics. This work was supported by grant DE-FG06-84ER45123 from the Department of Energy, U.S.A.  相似文献

A general result involving the generalized hypergeometric function is deduced by the elementary manipulation of series. Kummer's first theorem for the confluent hypergeometric function and two summation formulae for the Gauss hypergeometric function are then applied and new summation formulae involving the Laguerre polynomial are deduced.  相似文献
