Photoinduced electron transfer (PET) fluoroionophores (1b, 2b) that consist of diazacrown and two 9-anthryl pendants show fluorescent enhancement with various guest salts. The diaza-12-crown-4 derivative (2b) exhibited Zn(2+) selectivity and in the presence of this cation the host fluorescence intensity was increased by a factor of 182. The guest cation-induced fluorescence enhancement of 2b was larger than the diaza-18-crown-6 derivative (1b).  相似文献

The structurally characterized lower rim 1,3-di{4-antipyrine}amide conjugate of calix[4]arene (L) exhibits high selectivity toward Hg(2+) among other biologically important metal ions, viz., Na(+), K(+), Ca(2+), Mg(2+), Mn(2+), Fe(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Hg(2+), Pb(2+), and Ag(+) as studied by fluorescence, absorption, and ESI MS. L acts as a sensor for Hg(2+) by switch-off fluorescence and exhibits a lowest detectable concentration of 1.87 ± 0.1 ppm. The complex formed between L and Hg(2+) is found to be 1:1 on the basis of absorption and fluorescence titrations and was confirmed by ESI MS. The coordination features of the mercury complex of L were derived on the basis of DFT computations and found that the Hg(2+) is bound through an N(2)O(2) extending from both the arms to result in a distorted octahedral geometry with two vacant sites. The nanostructural features such as shape and size obtained using AFM and TEM distinguishes L from its Hg(2+) complex and were different from those of the simple mercuric perchlorate. L is also suited to sense pyrimidine bases by fluorescence quenching with a minimum detection limit of 1.15 ± 0.1 ppm in the case of cytosine. The nature of interaction of pyrimidine bases with L has been further studied by DFT computational calculations and found to have interactions through a hydrogen bonding and NH-π interaction between the host and the guest.  相似文献

The pentiptycene derived bis(crown ether)s with two 24-crown-8 moieties in the cis position could include the CBPQT(4+) ring inside their cavities to form 1:1 complexes, and the naphthalene groups connected in the crown ether moieties showed less effective complexation ability toward the CBPQT(4+) ring than the host containing two terminal benzene rings. This result was probably due to the stereohindrance effect of the naphthalene groups, and it was obviously different from that of the pentiptycene derived mono(crown ether)s. For the pentiptycene derived bis(crown ether) with two 24-crown-8 moieties in the trans position, it formed a 1:2 stable complex with the CBPQT(4+) salt in solution and in the solid state, in which the pentiptycene moiety played an important role in stabilizing the complex. Moreover, binding and release of the CBPQT(4+) ring in the complexes based on the pentiptycene-derived crown ethers could be chemically controlled by adding and removing potassium ions, in which the complexation modes played the key role. Interestingly, it was further found that switching the role of the CBPQT(4+) ring in host and guest systems based on the pentiptycene derived bis(crown ether)s was easily achieved, which represents a new kind of supramolecular system.  相似文献

Two trinuclear zinc‐based cyclohelicates, Zn–PDB (PDB=[5‐(dibenzylamino)‐N1′,N3′‐bis(pyridin‐2‐ylmethylene)isophthalohydrazide]) and Zn–PMB (PMB=[5‐(bodipy‐oxy)‐N1′,N3′‐bis(pyridin‐2‐ylmethylene)isophthalohydrazide]) containing dibenzylamino and BODIPY groups, respectively, were generated by incorporating two amide‐containing tridentate chelators into meta‐positions of a substituted phenyl ring. Single‐crystal structure analysis and related spectroscopic characterizations demonstrated the formation of macrocyclic helicals both in the solid state and in solution. The host–guest behavior of the cyclohelical hosts towards γ‐glutamyl‐cysteinyl‐glycine (GSH) and its component amino acids was investigated by spectroscopic titrations. UV/Vis absorption titration and NMR titrations of Zn–PDB and Zn–PMB upon addition of the above‐mentioned guests suggested that the Glu residue of GSH was positioned within the cavity. The COO groups interacted with metal ions through static interactions. The Cys moiety of GSH interacted with the amide groups sited in host molecules through hydrogen‐bonding interactions to produce measurable spectral changes. Fluorescent titrations of Zn–PMB upon the addition of GSH and ESI‐MS investigations of the titration solutions confirmed the host–guest interaction modes and revealed the possible 1:1 complexation stoichiometry. These results showed that the recognition of a substrate within the cavity of functionalized metal–organic cage‐like receptors could be a useful method to produce supramolecular sensors for biomolecules.  相似文献

Paraquat bis(hexafluorophosphate) undergoes stepwise dissociation in acetone. All three species—the neutral molecule, and the mono‐ and dications—are represented significantly under the experimental conditions typically used in host–guest binding studies. Paraquat forms at least four host–guest complexes with dibenzo[24]crown‐8. They are characterized by both 1:1 and 1:2 stoichiometries, and an overall charge of either zero (neutral molecule) or one (monocation). The monocationic 1:1 host–guest complex is the most abundant species under typical (0.5–20 mM ) experimental conditions. The presence of the dicationic 1:1 host–guest complex cannot be excluded on the basis of our experimental data, but neither is it unambiguously confirmed to be present. The two confirmed forms of paraquat that do undergo complexation—the neutral molecule and the monocation—exhibit approximately identical binding affinities toward dibenzo[24]crown‐8. Thus, the relative abundance of neutral, singly, and doubly charged pseudorotaxanes is identical to the relative abundance of neutral, singly, and doubly charged paraquat unbound with respect to the crown ether in acetone. In the specific case of paraquat/dibenzo[24]crown‐8, ion‐pairing does not contribute to host–guest complex formation, as has been suggested previously in the literature.  相似文献

Formation of host–guest complexes with acetic acid and benzoic acid was studied by NMR for amide-based octaazacyclophanes having pendant methyl ester arms; the cyclophanes were tetramethyl 2,9,18,25-tetraoxo-1,4,7,10,17,20,23,26-octaaza[10.10]paracyclophane-4,7,20,23-tetraacetate, its meta-isomer and analogues. Amide NH proton and CH2 proton adjacent to amide C = O in every cyclophane host showed down-field NMR shifts in the presence of the guest acids in CHCl3-d, suggesting the formation of 1:1 complexes in which the carboxyl group of an acid molecule formed two hydrogen bonds with the amide NH and C = O moieties of a host molecule. Since the complex formation competed with the dimerization of the guest acids, the monomer–dimer equilibrium was restudied by NMR and the equilibrium constant was determined to be 330 M? 1 for acetic acid and 518 M? 1 for benzoic acid. By using these values, the formation constants of the host–guest complexes were determined to be 8–51 M? 1. The close contact between the host and guest molecules via hydrogen bonding was consistently confirmed by NMR shifts due to the ring current of aromatic group.  相似文献

Host?guest complexation has been studied by 1H NMR on the benzyl and phenethyl amides of ferulic and caffeic acids as the guests in chloroform and acetonitrile; the counter host is a cyclophane which integrates four phenylene rings, amino and amide groups in the macrocyclic framework and bears four pendant methyl acetate ester arms. CAPE, one of the best known natural antioxidants, also has been studied for comparison. Among the guests studied, ferulic acid benzyl amide shows NMR shifts due to the formation of a host?guest complex in chloroform. The complexation occurs in two steps with the formation constants K 1?=?[HG]/[H][G]?=?6?M?1 and β 2?=?[HG2]/[H][G]2?=?87?M?2. Two guest molecules are bound on the surface of the macrocyclic framework of a host molecule by two hydrogen bonds, NH(host amide)···O=C(guest amide) and C=O(host ester)···HO(guest phenol). The latter hydrogen bond may protect the bioactive site, i.e., phenol OH, of guest molecules captured in the complex against undesirable oxidation. This feature is observed only for ferulic acid benzyl amide in chloroform; the cyclophane ester interacts with this amide, distinctively from the other hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives.  相似文献

Two multidentate ditopic ligands L1 and L2 which contain both N-donor and crown ether units have been synthesised. The potentially octadentate ligand L1 forms a trinuclear heterometallic double helicate with Cu(I) and Zn(II) ([Zn2Cu(L1)2](5+)), whereas L2 forms a tetranuclear heterometallic double helicate with the same metal ions ([Zn2Cu2(L2)2](6+)). Both species have been characterised by (1)H NMR, ESI-MS and single crystal X-ray crystallography. Reaction of [Zn2Cu2(L2)2](6+) with Ba(2+) results in the coordination of the crown ether units giving the simple barium coordinated species [Zn2Cu2(L2)2Ba2](10+). However, reaction of [Zn2Cu(L1)2](5+) with Ba(2+) deprograms the ligand and results in the formation of a mixture of species.  相似文献

Pyrene- and anthracene-appended new crown ether derivatives have been synthesized by Schiff's base reaction, and cation complexation behavior was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy measurements. Based on photo-induced electron transfer and intramolecular charge transfer mechanism, the host molecules emit stronger fluorescence in the presence of various cations Na(+), K(+), Rb(+), Cs(+) and NH(4)(+) since the complexation between guest cations and crown ether compounds inhibit partial electron transfer from the nitrogen atom to the chromophores and subsequently fluorescence is enhanced. The binding constants were estimated from the plots of the fraction of binding sites filled for crown ether compound as a function of free-ion concentration. Results show that 15-crown-5 derivatives exhibit higher binding ability with sodium cations while 18-crown-6 derivatives had higher affinity for potassium cations, which is consistent with the hole-size relationship of the crown ethers. Ammonium ion complexation caused largest fluorescence enhancement. It is understood that ammonium ion cannot only complex with crown ether, but also interact directly with the lone pair electrons of nitrogen atom in C=N bond so that electron transfer from the nitrogen atom to chromophores is further inhibited.  相似文献

Kinetic stability studies of a series of pseudorotaxanes formed from electron-rich crown ethers (hosts and ) and naphthalene diimide (guest ) in the presence of alkali salt templates MX (where M(+) = Li(+) and Na(+), and X(-) = Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), NO(3)(-) and CF(3)SO(3)(-)) were performed by (1)H NMR. The switching between the (bound) host and its linkage isomer host (free) was monitored in solution in the presence and absence of alkali salts, to establish the relative thermodynamic stabilities in the series. We also report here six new crystal structures, for pseudorotaxanes of type: [.], [M(2)..](2+) and [M(2)..](2+). Their solution-phase structures are in good agreement with the solid-state structures determined by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Three beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CyD) derivatives with crown ether units, that is N-(4'-benzo-15-crown-5)-6-imino-6-deoxy-beta-CyD (2), 6,6'-[N-(4,4'-dibenzo-18-crown-6)-imino]-bridged bis(beta-CyD)(3), and 2,2'-[O-(4',5'-benzo-15-crown-5)-ethyl]-bridged bis (beta-CyD)(5), were synthesized as cooperative recognition receptor models. Their molecular binding behavior with four representative fluorescent dyes, i.e., ammonium 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonate (ANS), sodium-6-toluidino-2-naphthalene-sulfonate (TNS), Acridine Red (AR) and Rhodamine B (RhB), was investigated in buffer solutions (pH = 7.20) at 25 degreesC by means of circular dichroism, NMR and fluorescence spectroscopy. 2D-ROESY experiments showed that dyad host 2 and triad host 3 adopted a CyD-guest-crown ether binding mode, while triad host 5 adopted a CyD-guest-CyD binding mode, upon inclusion complexation with guest molecules. Therefore, hosts 2 and 3 showed high molecular recognition ability towards charged guests, giving an enhanced binding ability up to 115 times for ANS by 3 and fairly high molecular selectivity up to 1450 times for the ANS/AR pair by 2 as compared with native beta-CyD in an aqueous phosphate buffer solution. On the other hand, host 5 was found to be able to effectively recognize the shape of a guest molecule, showing significantly higher binding ability towards linear guests. The binding affinities and molecular recognition abilities of these CyD-crown ether conjugates towards guest molecules are discussed from the viewpoint of electrostatic and/or hydrophobic interactions, size/shape-fit concept, and multiple recognition mechanism between host and guest.  相似文献

A ferrocene-based ion pair receptor is shown only to recognise HSO(4)(-) anions in the presence of a cobound Pb(2+) or Zn(2+) cation guest species through a perturbation of the redox potential of the ferrocene unit and a remarkable enhancement of the fluorescence.  相似文献

A density functional theory study of the structure of the title compounds with the divalent metal ions in their high-spin ground state, obtained using B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) in vacuo and in aqueous solution simulated using a polarized continuum medium, is reported for the first time. The modeling reproduces the pseudo pentagonal bipyramidal crystallographic structures very well, including some asymmetry in the equatorial bonds lengths to the crown ether O donors. The very marked asymmetry in the Ni(2+) structure due to a Jahn-Teller distortion of a d(8) system in a D(5h) ligand field is also well reproduced. The gas phase binding energies of the complexes follow the order Mn(2+) < Fe(2+) < Co(2+) < Ni(2+) < Cu(2+) > Zn(2+), in precise agreement with the Irving-William series. Both the NPA and Bader charges show there is ligand-to-metal charge transfer; however, the values obtained from the NPA procedure, unlike those obtained from Bader's quantum theory of molecules approach, do not correlate with the electronegativity of the metal ions, the stabilization energies of the solvated complexes or the ionic radii of the metal ions, and so appear to be less reliable. The nature of the bonding between the ligands and the metal ions has been explored using the topological properties of the electron charge density. The metal-ligand bond distances were found to be exponentially correlated with the electron charge density, its Laplacian, and with its curvature in the direction of the bond path at M-O bond critical points. While the bonding with coordinated H(2)O is predominantly ionic, that to the crown ether donor atoms has some covalent character the extent of which increases across the first transition series. The delocalization indices of M-O bonds in these complexes correlate reasonably well with the electron density and its Laplacian at the bond critical points; this therefore provides a rapid and computationally very efficient way of determining these properties, from which insight into the nature of the bonding can be obtained, obviating the need for time-consuming integration over atomic basins.  相似文献

Two tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (tren) based tripodal amide fluoroionophores, 1 and 2, functionalized with quinoline (chelating fluorophore) and naphthalene (non-chelating fluorophore) respectively, are synthesized in good yields. Fluoroionophore 1 shows a selective UV-Vis spectral shift in the case of Hg(2+) in acetonitrile among different metal ions like Li(+), Na(+), Ca(2+), Mg(2+), Cr(2+), Mn(2+), Fe(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Hg(2+), Pb(2+), and Ag(+). On the other hand, fluoroionophore 2 shows no selectivity towards any of the above metal ions in the UV-Vis study. Furthermore, 1 shows a selective chelation induced fluorescence enhancement in the presence of Hg(2+) whereas 2 shows the enhancement of fluorescence with most of the metal ions via a photoinduced charge transfer mechanism. The naked eye detection of Hg(2+) in an acetonitrile solution of 1 shows a greenish fluorescence upon UV light irradiation. The isolated Hg(2+) complex of 1, 3, shows a similar UV-Vis and fluorescence spectral output as observed from in situ spectroscopic studies of 1 in the presence of Hg(2+). Infra-red (IR) and (1)H- NMR studies also reveal the interaction of Hg(2+) with the quinoline nitrogen atoms as well as with the amide functionality.  相似文献

A new dibenzo[24]crown-8 derivative (1) was synthesized and functionalized with aromatic moieties such as naphthalene and coumarin units. These two fluorophores are known to form an effective FRET (Forster resonance energy transfer) pair, and this formed the basis for the design of this host crown ether derivative. Results of the steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence studies confirmed the resonance energy transfer between the donor naphthalene moiety and acceptor coumarin fragment, while NMR spectra and computational studies support a folded conformation for the uncomplexed crown ether 1. This was found to form an inclusion complex, a [2]pseudorotaxane type with imidazolium ion derivatives as the guest molecules with varying alkyl chain lengths ([C(4)mim](+) or [C(10)mim](+)). The host crown ether (1) tends to adopt an open conformation on formation of the interwoven inclusion complex (1·[C(4)mim](+) or 1·[C(10)mim](+)). This change in conformation, from the folded to a open one, was predicted by computational as well as (1)H NMR studies and was confirmed by single crystal X-ray structure for one (1·[C(4)mim](+)) of the two inclusion complexes. The increase in the effective distance between the naphthalene and coumarin moieties in the open conformation of these inclusion complexes was also supported by the decrease in the effective FRET process that was operational between naphthalene and coumarin moieties in the free molecule (1). Importantly, this inclusion complex formation was found to be reversible, and in the presence of a stronger base/polar solvent, such as triethyl amine/DMSO, the deprotonation/effective solvation of the cationic imidizolium ions ([C(4)mim](+) or [C(10)mim](+)) resulted in decomplexation or dethreading with restoration of the original emission spectra for 1, which signifies the subsequent increase in the FRET process. Thus we could demonstrate that a molecular folding-unfolding type of movement in the crown ether derivative could be induced by chemical input as an imidazolium ion.  相似文献

Fifteen new macrocyclic, macrobicyclic and macrotricyclic crown ether compounds with sym-dibenzo-16-crown-5 units have been prepared. The series includes macrocyclic polyether and bis(crown ether) compounds with proton-ionizable carboxylic or phosphonic acid monoethyl ester groups and bis(crown ether) and macrotricyclic polyether compounds with two sym-dibenzo-16-crown-5 units linked by amide, diamide, or diester functions.  相似文献

Herein, we report the host–guest‐type complex formation between the host molecules cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]), β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD), and dibenzo[24]crown‐8 ether (DB24C8) and a newly synthesized triphenylamine (TPA) derivative 1 X3 as the guest component. The host–guest complex formation was studied in detail by using 1H NMR, 2D NOESY, UV/Vis fluorescence, and time‐resolved emission spectroscopy. The chloride salt of the TPA derivative was used for recognition studies with CB[7] and β‐CD in an aqueous medium. The restricted internal rotation of the guest molecule on complex formation with either of these two host molecules was reflected in the enhancement of the emission quantum yield and the average excited‐state lifetime for the triphenylamine‐based excited states. Studies with DB24C8 as the host molecule were performed in dichloromethane, a medium that maximizes the noncovalent interaction between the host and guest fragments. The Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) process involving DB24C8 and 1 (PF6)3, as the donor and acceptor fragments, respectively, was established by electrochemical, steady‐state emission, and time‐correlated single‐photon counting studies.  相似文献

Static and time-resolved optical measurements are reported for three cyclic hexameric porphyrin arrays and their self-assembled complexes with guest chromophores. The hexameric hosts contain zinc porphyrins and 0, 1, or 2 free base (Fb) porphyrins (denoted Zn(6), Zn(5)Fb, or Zn(4)Fb(2), respectively). The guest is a core-modified (O replacing one of the four N atoms) dipyridyl-substituted Fb porphyrin (DPFbO) that coordinates to zinc porphyrins of a host via pyridyl-zinc dative bonding. Each architecture is designed to have a gradient of excited-state energies for excitation funneling among the weakly coupled constituents of the host to the guest. Energy transfer to the lowest-energy chromophore(s) (coordinated zinc porphyrins or Fb porphyrins) within a hexameric host occurs primarily via a through-bond (TB) mechanism, is rapid ( approximately 40 ps), and is essentially quantitative (>or=98%). Energy transfer from a pyridyl-coordinated zinc porphyrin of the host to the guest in the Zn(6)*DPFbO complex has a yield of approximately 75%, a rate constant of approximately (0.7 ns)(-1), and significant F?rster through-space (TS) character. In the case of Zn(5)Fb*DPFbO, which has an additional TS route via the Fb porphyrin with a rate constant of approximately (20 ns)(-1), the yield of energy transfer to the guest is somewhat lower ( approximately 50%) than that for Zn(6)*DPFbO. Complex Zn(4)Fb(2)*DPFbO has an identical TS pathway via the Fb porphyrin plus an additional TS pathway involving the second Fb porphyrin (closer to the guest) with a rate constant of approximately (0.5 ns)(-1). This complex exhibits an energy-transfer yield to the guest that is significantly enhanced over that for Zn(5)Fb*DPFbO and comparable to that for Zn(6)*DPFbO. Collectively, the results for the various arrays suggest designs for similar host-guest complexes that are expected to exhibit much more efficient light harvesting and excitation trapping at the central guest chromophore.  相似文献

A water-soluble fluorescent sensor, 1, based on the "receptor-spacer-fluorophore" [2-(2'-aminophenyl)benzoxazole-amide-2-picolylamine] sensor platform, demonstrates the high sensitivity for Zn(2+) with a 25-fold fluorescence enhancement upon chelation to Zn(2+) and also exhibits high selectivity to Zn(2+) over other metal ions. X-ray crystal structure of Zn(2+) complex reveals that the amide oxygen (O2) cooperates with 2-picolylamine unit (N3, N4) as a receptor bind Zn(2+).  相似文献
