Self-assembling properties of surfactant oligomers in an aqueous medium is simulated by dissipative particle dynamics (DPD). The critical micellar concentration (CMC) of dimeric (oligomerization = 2) and trimeric (oligomerization = 3) surfactant is much lower than their single-chain counterpart. All surfactants form spherical micelles at the concentration not far above their CMC. The transition from spherical to cylindrical micelles exhibits with increasing surfactant concentration. Lamellar micelles will appear with further increasing the surfactant concentration. For dimeric and trimeric surfactants, cylindrical micelles transform into extremely long “wormlike” or “threadlike” micelles before the transition to lamellar micelles. These results are in qualitative agreement with laboratory experiment. Average aggregation numbers (AN) of micelles increase with a power law of AN  c when the surfactant concentration c CMC. The self-diffusion coefficients will drop with a power law of D  c when wormlike micelles are formed.  相似文献

This paper presents an experimental validation of new theoretical development for foam film drainage, which focuses on the role of surface forces. The drainage of microscopic foam films (with radii smaller than 100 μm) from aqueous solutions of 10−6 to 10−4 mol/L sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) was studied by means of an improved Scheludko micro-interferometric technique which consisted of a conventional Scheludko cell, a high-speed camera system, and the software for digital analysis Optimas used for the digitisation of the interferometric images to obtain the monochromatic light intensity. The experimental technique allowed fast processing of the interferometric data for determining the transient film thickness with high accuracy. The zeta-potential of the air–water interface was determined from the electrophoretic mobility of micro-bubbles in SDS solutions of the same concentrations. Advanced predictions for the electrical double-layer repulsion at either constant surface potential or constant surface charge were employed. Significant discrepancy between the theoretical prediction and the experimental data was obtained. The analysis showed that the adsorption layer, which is located on the film surfaces, is far away from equilibrium, while the theory assumes condition close to equilibrium. In this term the interaction between the film surfaces is affected by the dynamics of the adsorption layers during the film drainage.  相似文献

Foam thin liquid films (TLF) and monolayers at the air–water interface formed by DMPC mixed with DMPE-bonded poly (ethylene glycol)s (DMPE-PEG550, DMPE-PEG2000 and DMPE-PEG5000) were obtained. The influence of both (i) PEG chain size (evaluated in terms of Mw) and mushroom-to-brush conformational transition and (ii) of the liposome/micelle ratio in the film-forming dispersions, on the interfacial properties of mixed DMPC/DMPE-PEG films was compared.

Foam film studies demonstrated that DMPE-PEG addition to foam TLFs caused (i) delayed kinetics of film thinning and black spot expansion and (ii) film stabilization. At the mushroom-to-brush transition, due to steric repulsion increased DMPE-PEG films thickness reached 25 nm while pure DMPC films were only 8 nm thick Newton black films. It was possible to differentiate DMPE-PEG2000/5000 from DMPE-PEG550 by the ability to change foam TLF formation mechanism, which could be of great importance for “stealth” liposome design.

Monolayer studies showed improved formation kinetics and equilibrium surface tension decrease for DMPE-PEG monolayers compared with DMPC pure films.

SEM observations revealed “smoothing” and “sealing” of the defects in the solid-supported layer surface by DMPE-PEGs adsorption, which could explain DMPE-PEGs ability to stabilize TLFs and to decrease monolayer surface tension.

All effects in monolayers, foam TLFs and solid-supported layers increased with the increase of PEG Mw and DMPE-PEG concentration. However, at the critical DMPE-PEG concentration (where mushroom-to-brush conformational transition occurred) maximal magnitude of the effects was reached, which only slightly changed at further DMPE-PEG content and micelle/liposome ratio increase.  相似文献

The effect of temperature on absorption and fluorescence spectra of N,N-dimethylaniline (DMA) in ethyl acetate has been studied for temperature ranging from 293 to 388 K. The permittivity ε and refractive index n of the solvent decrease with temperature increase and the absorption and fluorescence bands are blue shifted (so-called “thermochromic shift”). Based on this phenomenon, the dipole moment μe in the excited singlet state and the Onsager interaction radius a for DMA were determined using the Bilot and Kawski theory [L. Bilot, A. Kawski, Z. Naturforsch. 17a (1962) 621; 18a (1963) 10, 256].

For the known dipole moment in the ground state μg = 1.61 D and for /a3 = 0.54 ( is the polarizability of the solute) the average value of μe = 3.55 D and a = 3.1 Å were determined. The obtained values for DMA are compared with the experimental values determined by other authors.  相似文献

The electronic properties of thin metallic films deviate from the corresponding bulk ones when the film thickness is comparable with the wavelength of the electrons at the Fermi level. This phenomenon, referred to as quantum size effect (QSE), is also expected to affect the film morphology and structure leading to the “electronic growth” of metals on semiconductors. Such effect may be observed when metals are grown on substrates held at low temperature and are manifested through the occurrence of “magical” thickness islands or critical thickness for layer-by-layer growth. In particular, layer-by-layer growth of Pb(1 1 1) films has been reported for deposition on Ge(0 0 1) below 130 K. An extremely flat morphology is preserved throughout deposition from four up to a dozen of monolayers. These flat films are shown to be metastable and to reorganize into large clusters uncovering the first Pb layer pseudomorphic to the underlying Ge(0 0 1) substrate already at room temperature. Indications of QSE induced structural variations of the growing films have been reported for Pb growth on both Si(1 1 1) and Ge(0 0 1). In the latter case, the apparent height of the Pb(1 1 1) monatomic step was shown to change in an oscillatory fashion by He atom scattering (HAS) during layer-by-layer growth at low temperature. The extent of the structural QSE has been obtained by a comparison of the HAS data with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and reflectivity experiments. Whereas step height variations as large as 20% have been measured by HAS reflectivity, the displacement of the atomic planes from their bulk position, as measured by XRD, has been found to mainly affect the topmost Pb layer, but with a lower extent, i.e. the QSE observed by HAS are mainly due to a perpendicular displacement of the topmost layer charge density. The effect of the variable surface relaxation on the surface vibration has been studied from the acoustic dispersion of the low energy phonons, as measured by inelastic HAS.  相似文献

In a strategy to develop more stable ultrasound contrast agents (UCAs), we have designed a process to obtain nano/microcapsules with a single core of liquid perfluorocarbon within a biodegradable polymeric shell of homogeneous thickness. During the optimization of perfluorooctyl bromide (PFOB) encapsulation by solvent emulsion-evaporation, a marked influence of surfactants has been observed. While sodium cholate leads to spherical capsules of homogeneous thickness, sodium taurocholate induces to the formation of “acorn”-particles with one hemisphere of PFOB and another one of PLGA, and polyvinyl alcohol is responsible for the coexistence of both morphologies. Whereas the theoretical model proposed by Torza and Mason [J. Colloid Interface Sci. 33 (1970) 67] fails to predict the observed morphologies, microscopic observations of the evaporation and interfacial tension measurements provide an insight into the mechanism of formation of these structures. Most probably, there is a competition between PLGA and the surfactant stabilizing the emulsion at the dichloromethane–water interface. If PLGA is able to adsorb at the interface, the core–shell morphology is obtained, otherwise the acorn morphology is preferentially formed. When the surfactant rearrangement at the interface is long (>30 min), a coexistence of morphologies can be obtained.  相似文献

The thermal stability in air of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4-methoxyphenyl) porphyrin (4-TMPP), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (3-methoxyphenyl) porphyrin (3-TMPP), and their nickel metallo-complexes (4-TMPP-Ni and 3-TMPP-Ni) has been investigated by thermogravimetry (TG). 4-TMPP and 4-TMPP-Ni exhibit higher thermal stability compared to 3-TMPP and 3-TMPP-Ni. Nickel complexes exhibit a little higher thermal stability than the corresponding porphyrins. The thermal behavior including melting temperature and enthalpy of fusion was determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and infrared spectra (IR). The activation energies of thermal decompositions of 4-TMPP-Ni and 3-TMPP-Ni were obtained by integral model-free method; the mechanism functions and pre-exponential factors were determined by master plots method. The kinetic models follow the same mechanism function, Avramie-Erofeev equations with integral forms g() = [−ln (l − )]0.278 and g() = [−ln (l − )]0.260, respectively.  相似文献

Previous analysis of Narsimhan [G. Narsimhan, J. Colloid Interface Sci. 287 (2005) 624-633] for the evaluation of rupture of a nondraining thin film on a solid support due to imposed random mechanical perturbations modeled as a Gaussian white noise has been extended for partially mobile gas-liquid interfaces. The average rupture time of film is evaluated by first passage time analysis (as the mean time for the amplitude of perturbation to become equal to film thickness). The interfacial mobility is accounted for through surface viscosity as well as Marangoni effect. The mean rupture time for partially mobile gas-liquid interface, as characterized by two dimensionless groups, dimensionless surface viscosity and Marangoni number, lies between the two extreme limits for fully mobile and immobile films. The critical wavenumber for minimum rupture time is shown to be insensitive to interfacial mobility. However, the critical dimensionless surface viscosity and critical Marangoni number at which the behavior of thin film deviates from that of fully mobile film and the behavior approaches that of fully immobile film are smaller for higher Hamaker constants, smaller film thickness and smaller surface potentials.  相似文献

In the present study, the kinetics of the thermal decomposition of magnesium hydroxide is investigated, using isothermal methods of kinetic analysis. For this purpose, experiments in thermogravimetric analyser were carried out in standard values of temperature (350°, 400°, 450° and 500°C) which resulted in weight loss percent as a function of time. The data were further modified to give fraction reacted ‘' versus time to be tested in various forms of ‘' functions. In order to determine the mechanism of the magnesium hydroxide decomposition and the form of the conversion function which governs the dehydroxylation of Mg(OH)2, four different methods of isothermal kinetic analysis were used. Applying each of these methods to the data, it was concluded that the nucleation mechanism predominates the Mg(OH)2, decomposition for all values of temperature tested; at 350°C the kinetic model which represents the experimental data is that of reaction at phase boundaries (random nucleation), F1: ln(1−)=kt) while for the higher temperatures 400°, 450° and 500°C the kinetic equation of nucleation and development in two dimensions, A2: [−ln (1−)]1/2=kt was found to fit better the experimental results. The activation energy was evaluated applying two alternative methods; the Arrhenius plot, using maximum rates of reaction, from which the activation energy was evaluated to be 20.54 kcal/mol. An alternative method based on plots of ln t versus 1/T corresponding to the same value of ‘' gave values of 10.72, 13.82 and 16.31 kcal/mol for ‘' values of 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75, respectively.  相似文献

Surfactant replacement therapy has a vital role in the management of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). Several techniques and models have been largely used to investigate interfacial physico-chemical properties in vitro and to assist clinical efficiency of exogenous surfactant preparations (ESPs) in vivo. Among them are interfacial tensiometry (Langmuir balance coupled with Wilhelmy plate method for surface tension measurement) and black foam film (BFF) method for measuring the capability of ESPs for bilayer foam film formation.

Here, we report some freshly established data from a comparative study of Exosurf, Survanta, Curosurf, Alveofact and clinical samples of tracheal aspirate (TA) of newborns with RDS treated with Curosurf. New observations concerning the properties of foam films of ESPs are also reported and discussed.

Measured interfacial physico-chemical parameters prove “better” properties in vitro of the SP-B and -C containing preparations Curosurf and Alveofact. Their properties are similar, Alveofact showing a higher surface tension lowering capacity under dynamic conditions.

A comparison with measured interfacial parameters of clinical samples shows that after treatment with Curosurf the phospholipid concentration in tracheal aspirates (367 μg/ml) is higher than the minimum phospholipid concentration for stable black film formation (Ct) of all four ESPs studied, while before treatment this concentration (63 μg/ml) is lower than Ct.

Values of measured “dynamic” parameters of clinical samples after treatment with Curosurf approach those of the exogenous surfactant preparation itself.  相似文献

Anomalous electric birefringence signals of a sonicated and column-fractionated medium-size calf thymus DNA sample (bp  =  570) in Na+ solutions were measured at 7 °C. The reversing-pulse electric birefringence (RPEB) signal pattern was theoretically calculated in the low electric field region for two axially symmetric models coexisting in equilibrium in solution. The RPEB theory is based on the electric dipole moment due to ion-fluctuation along the longitudinal direction and the electric polarizability anisotropy (Δ′), together with various electric and optical parameters assigned to the models. An analytical method was developed for the steady-state birefringence of the two-component system in a wide range of electric fields. The NaDNA samples exhibit complex RPEB patterns mixed with negative- and positive-going profiles. An experimental RPEB signal of NaDNA at an absorbance (A260) of 8 was fitted to theoretical curve at weak electric fields. The anomalous RPEB signal was attributed to the component 2, which shows a dip in the buildup and another in the reverse processes with a positive sign and a larger relaxation time. For the component 1, a normal DNA profile with negative sign is associated with a narrow dip in the reverse and a faster relaxation time in the decay signal. The field-strength dependence of observed steady-state birefringence δ(∞) could be fitted for NaDNA at A260  =  8 by the SUSID orientation function with saturated ionic and electronic moments. An apparent positive maximum and the sign reversal in δ(∞) at weak electric fields is an interplay between the positive component 2 with positive optical factor Δg and negative Δ′ and the negative component 1 with negative Δg and positive Δ′. Possible conformation of two DNA components involved in solution was estimated.  相似文献

The kinetics of the adsorption of human gastric lipase (HGL) and human pancreatic lipase (HPL) were studied by recording the changes in the surface pressure with time in the absence and presence of an egg phosphatidylcholine (PC) monomolecular film spread at the air/water interface. In the presence of PC film, the tensioactivtty of HGL increased considerably compared with its behaviour at the air/water interface, whereas HPL exhibited a comparable degree of tensioactivity whether or not a phospholipid monolayer was present at the interface. This difference in surface behaviour is consistent with the higher penetration capacity attributed to HGL. Procolipase considerably increased both the initial adsorption rate and the final surface pressure reached by HPL compared with its adsorption without colipase.

The kinetics of the hydrolysis of 1,2-didecanoyl-sn-glycerol (dicaprin) monolayers by HGL and HPL were measured using a “zero-order” trough. The large differences between the calculated characteristic adsorption times and the measured lag times indicate that the partition of the lipase molecules between the subsurface and the interface was probably limited by an energy barrier. The amplitude of this energy barrier can be partly attributed to the drastic conformational change in the enzyme, associated with the interfacial activation.

The area per dicaprin molecule (56 Å2) corresponding to the maximal activity of HPL was compared with the dimension of the hydrophobic cleft surrounding the serine (Ser 152) of the catalytic triad of HPL, as recently demonstrated by H. Van Tilbeurgh and co-workers (Nature, 359 (1992) 159; 362 (1993) 814) in their studies on the “open” and “closed” forms of the respective three-dimensional crystalline structures. The catalytic triad was not accessible to a sphere 8.4 Å in diameter, mimicking the van der Waals envelope of the dicaprin molecule, due to the steric hindrance of the side chains of aromatic and cyclic residues F 215, F 77, Y 114 and H 263. It can be concluded that the substrate molecule must also undergo some conformational changes at the contact of the enzyme to be accommodated in the active site.  相似文献

New types of supported Pd membranes were developed for high temperature H2 separation. Sequential combinations of boehmite sol slip casting and film coating, and electroless plating (ELP) steps were designed to synthesize “Pd encapsulated” and “Pd nanopore” membranes supported on -Al2O3 hollow fibers. The permeation characteristics (flux, permselectivity) of a series of unaged and aged encapsulated and nanopore membranes with different Pd loadings were compared to those of a conventional 1 μm Pd/4 μm γ-Al2O3/-Al2O3 hollow fiber membrane. The unaged encapsulated membrane exhibited good performance with ideal H2/N2 separation factors of 3000–8000 and H2 flux 0.4 mol/m2 s at 370 °C and a transmembrane pressure gradient of 4 × 105 Pa. The unaged Pd nanopore membranes had a lower initial flux and permselectivity, but exhibited superior performance with extended use (200 h). At the same conditions the unaged 2.6 μm Pd nanopore membrane had a H2 flux of 0.16 mol/m2 s and separation factor of 500 and the unaged 0.6 μm Pd nanopore membrane had a H2 flux of 0.25 mol/m2 s and separation factor of 50. Both nanopore membranes stabilized after 40 h of operation, in contrast to a continued deterioration of the permselectivity for the other membranes. An analysis of the permeation data reveals a combination of Knudsen and convective transport through membrane defects. A phenomenological, qualitative model of the synthesis and resulting structure of the encapsulated and nanopore membranes is presented to explain the permeation results.  相似文献

Results of characterization studies on one of the first versions of the Sunna photo-fluorescent dosimeter™ have previously been reported, and the performance of the red fluorescence component described. This present paper describes dose response and post-irradiation characteristics of the green fluorescence component from the same dosimeter film (Sunna Model γ), which is manufactured using the injection molding technique. This production method may supply batch sizes on the order of 1 million dosimeter film elements while maintaining a signal precision (1σ) on the order of ±1% without the need to correct for variability of film thickness. The dosimeter is a 1 cm×3 cm polymeric film of 0.5-mm thickness that emits green fluorescence at intensities increasing almost linearly with dose. The data presented include dose response, post-irradiation growth, heat treatment, dosimeter aging, dose rate dependence, energy dependence, dose fractionation, variation of response within a batch, and the stability of the fluorimeter response. The results indicate that, as a routine dosimeter, the green signal provides a broad range of response at food irradiation (0.3–5 kGy), medical sterilization (5–40 kGy), and polymer cross-linking (40–250 kGy) dose levels.  相似文献

Amphiphile bilayer films are obtained from 1,2 dipalmitoyl-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC): bilayer lipid membranes (BLM) and Newton black films (NBF), through thinning of the respective thin liquid films, thus allowing for a very precise determination of the moment of their formation. Stability (or rupture) and formation of BLM and NBF are considered from a unified point of view with the microscopic theory of Kashchiev–Exerowa [J. Colloid Interface Sci., 77 (1980) 501–511], based on the formation of nanoscopic holes in them. BLM and NBF are obtained and studied with the microinterferometric method of Scheludko–Exerowa in its contemporary version. The equivalent thickness of both BLM (in benzene solution between two water phases with 0.1 M NaCl) and NBF in aqueous DPPC solution (in the presence of 0.1 M NaCl) is determined as being hw = 7.0 nm for BLM and hw = 7.8 nm for NBF. By means of the dependences: BLM lifetime versus DPPC concentration and probability for BLM formation versus DPPC concentration, it is established that there exist metastable BLM and stable NBF. The good fit between the experimental results of τ(C) dependence and theory in the case of BLM allow to determine the three constants: pre-exponential factor A = 1.5 × 10−3 s, related to the process kinetics; constant B = 20.2 ± 0.2, related to the specific hole energy γ = 1.7 × 10−11 J/m and the equilibrium concentration Ce = 6 × 10−4 ± 7.2 × 10−6 m/l. The specific hole linear energy γ = 1.7 × 10−11 J/m determined as well as the binding energy Q between first neighbor molecules in the bilayers Q = 1.48 × 10−19 J (36 kT) are lower than the ones determined for DPPC foam bilayer in gel state γ = 9.1 × 10−11 J/m and Q = 55 kT. This means that interaction is weaker in the case of BLM. The critical concentration Cc at which bilayer formation starts is: for BLM Cc = 30 μg/ml and for NBF Cc = 70 μg/ml. This concentration characterizes quantitatively the formation of the amphiphile bilayer and is a very useful parameter that can be used for various purposes.  相似文献

Intramolecular photoinduced electron transfer (PET) processes occurring in dyads with a free base porphyrin-tetraazaanthracene donor (P) and either a tetracyanonaphthoquinidodimethane (TCQ) or benzoquinone (BQ) acceptor linked by a rigid six σ-bond polynorbornane bridge ([6]) have been investigated. For P[6]BQ, PET in the polar solvent benzonitrile (s = 25.9) occurs with a rate constant (kPET) of 1.6 × 108 s−1 but is not evident in solvents less polar than tetrahydrofuran (s = 7.52). For P[6]TCQ, highly efficient forward PET occurs in both polar and non-polar solvents (kPET > 2 × 1010 s−1). For P[6]TCQ the lifetime of the resulting charge-separated state decreases markedly with increasing solvent polarity. The results are discussed in the context of the likely mechanisms for electronic coupling and current theories for PET processes in such linked molecular systems.  相似文献

The influence of the –NH2 group position in the pyridine ring on the proton donor ability of N–H groups in hydrogen bonding as well as on the spectral behaviour of stretching and bending vibrations of aminopyridines has been studied. The proton donor ability was shown to increase in the row: meta-, ortho-, and para-aminopyridines. It was established tha N–H bonds in ortho-aminopyridine were not equivalent, and the evaluation of their dynamic nonequivalence was made.

The influence of temperature on the spectral characteristics of the absorption bands of the stretching vibrations of amine groups in the free and hydrogen bonded molecules in CCl4 has been studied (in temperature range 290–330 K), the formation constants of the complexes have been determined, enthalpy of the 1:1 complexes formation (−ΔH1) between ortho- and meta-aminopyridines with dimethylformamide, dimethylsulphoxide and hexamethylphosphoramide has been calculated in temperature range 290–330 K. The 1:2 complexes of ortho-, meta- and para-aminopyridines with acetonitrile, tetrahydrofurane, dimethylsulphoxide, hexamethylphosphoramide were studied at the indoor temperature. Enthalpy of the 1:2 complex (−ΔH2) was estimated on the basis of ‘intensity rule’; −ΔH1B1/2 assuming that parameter does not depend on the composition of a complex.

The vibrational and electrooptical tasks were solved for the free and H-bounded molecules of aminopyridines as well as its complexes of the 1:1 and 1:2 compositions. Dynamic, electrooptical and energetic nonequivalency of NH bonds of aminogroups in aminopyridines was studied quantitatively. The independent calculations of dynamic constants proved mentioned above nonequivalency of NH bonds.

Correlations between spectral characteristics of the absorption bands, geometric, dynamic and electrooptical parameters of –NH2 group in aminopyridines in the free and hydrogen bonded molecules have been established. Those correlations allow to determine the most important molecular characteristics obtained on the basis of spectral measurements in the range of the absorption bands of the stretching vibrations of aminogroup.  相似文献

The O-mediated Cu-film growth on O-precovered Ru(0 0 0 1) is investigated by means of scanning tunneling microscopy for growth temperatures between 300 and 600 K. Cu-films on clean Ru(0 0 0 1) grow in a multilayer mode. For O precoverages (Θ) between 0.2 ML (monolayer) and the saturation coverage (Θ=0.5 ML), a layer-by-layer growth is observed at growth temperatures between 350 and 450 K. On Cu-islands, an O/Cu surfactant layer is formed, which floats on-top of the growing film and induces the layerwise Cu-film growth. The surface coverage of the O/Cu surfactant layer linearly rises with the O precoverage up to Θ≈0.4 ML, where it completely covers the surface. Two different types of the surfactant layer are identified, inducing different surfactant mechanisms. For Θ=0.1–0.4 ML, the O/Cu surfactant structure (A-type) displays some local order and induces inhomogeneous nucleation at the misfit-induced relaxation structure of the Cu-film. The layer-wise growth is explained by the concept of two mobilities, implying a large attempt frequency for adatom jumps over the interlayer diffusion barrier at the steps. For Θ = 0.4–0.5 ML, a disordered O/Cu surfactant layer is established (B-type), inducing homogeneous nucleation. The layer-wise Cu-film growth is attributed to a reduction of the effective interlayer diffusion barrier. Cu-film growth at 400 K on the ordered (3×2√3)O/Cu structure formed at temperatures around 520 K yields the conclusion that the O/Cu surfactant structures are composed of randomly arranged O–Cu–O strings and disrupted “Cu2O(1 1 1)” fragments.  相似文献

Drainage in microscopic circular foam films depends significantly on the radial (tangential) mobility of the film surfaces and is accelerated as compared to the limiting case of tangentially immobile surfaces, where velocity of thinning is described by the classical Reynolds’ equation (outflow of viscous fluid from a cylindrical gap between two solid plates). The structure and composition of the adsorption layer and the interfacial mass transfer determine the tangential mobility of the film surfaces and, hence, the measured velocity of film thinning. Experiments with soluble surfactants below the critical micelle concentrations (CMC) have exhibited the effect of dynamic interfacial elasticity. At relatively low bulk concentrations, the interfacial mass transfer is governed by surface diffusion; close to CMC (saturated adsorption layer), the limiting case of tangentially immobile surfaces can be reached and at concentrations above the CMC the film thinning is accelerated again. Here, we report freshly established data on the kinetic behavior of foam films from micellar solutions of soluble nonionic surfactants (decyl-octaoxyethylene alcohol and dodecyl-octaoxyethylene alcohol) in a wide range of concentrations above the CMC aiming to investigate the effect of partially disintegrated micelles acting as sources of surfactant molecules at the surface.  相似文献

Two types of Equations of State (EoS), which are characterized here as “simple” and “complex” EoS, are evaluated in this study. The “simple” type involves two versions of the Peng–Robinson (PR) EoS: the traditional one that utilizes the experimental critical properties and the acentric factor and the other, referred to as PR-fitted (PR-f), where these parameters are determined by fitting pure compound vapor pressure and saturated liquid volume data. As “complex” EoS in this study are characterized the EoS derived from statistical mechanics considerations and involve the Sanchez–Lacombe (SL) EoS and two versions of the Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (SAFT) EoS, the original and the Perturbed-Chain SAFT (PC-SAFT).

The evaluation of these two types of EoS is carried out with respect to their performance in the prediction and correlation of vapor liquid equilibria in binary and multicomponent mixtures of methane or ethane with alkanes of various degree of asymmetry. It is concluded that for this kind of systems complexity offers no significant advantages over simplicity. Furthermore, the results obtained with the PR-f EoS, especially those for multicomponent systems that are encountered in practice, even with the use of zero binary interaction parameters, indicate that this EoS may become a powerful tool for reservoir fluid phase equilibria modeling.  相似文献
