The transfer of geometrical data from CAD (Computer Aided Design) to FEA (Finite-Element Analysis) is a bottleneck of automated design optimization procedures, yielding a loss of accuracy and cumbersome software couplings. Isogeometric analysis methods propose a new paradigm that allows one to overcome these difficulties by using a unique geometrical representation, yielding a direct relationship between geometry and analysis. In this study, in the framework of linear elasticity problems, we investigate its use for sensitivity analysis and, more specifically, shape gradient computations.  相似文献

Pythagorean-hodograph (PH) curves offer computational advantages in Computer Aided Geometric Design, Computer Aided Design, Computer Graphics, Computer Numerical Control machining and similar applications. In this paper, three methods are utilized to construct the identifications of planar regular sextic PH curves. The first exhibits purely the control polygon legs'' constraints in the complex form. Such reconstruction of a PH sextic can be elaborated by $C^1$ Hermite data and another one condition. The second uses polar representation in two cases. One of them can produce a family of convex sextic PH curves related with a quintic PH curve, and the other one may naturally degenerate a sextic PH curve to a quintic PH curve. In the third identification, we use some odd PH curves to construct a family of sextic PH curves with convexity-preserving property.  相似文献

The isogeometric analysis (IGA) is a new approach which builds a seamless connection between Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). This approach which uses the B-Splines or the Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) as a geometric representation of the object is a discretization technology for numerical analysis. The IGA has advantages of capturing exact geometry and making the flexibility of refinement, which results in higher calculation accuracy. To study the static and dynamic characteristics of curvilinearly stiffened plates, the NURBS based isogeometric analysis approach is developed in this paper. We use this approach to analyze the static deformation, the free vibration and the vibration behavior in the presence of in-plane loads of curvilinearly stiffened plates. Furthermore, the large deformation and the large amplitude vibration of the curvilinearly stiffened plates are also studied based on the von Karman's large deformation theory. One of the superiorities of the present method in the analysis of the stiffened plates is that the element number is much less than commercial finite element software, whereas another advantage is that the mesh refinement process is much more convenient compared with traditional finite element method (FEM). Some numerical examples are shown to validate the correctness and superiority of the present method by comparing with the results from commercial software and finite element analysis.  相似文献

Triangulation, subdivision and intersection of the surface are the basic and common operations in Computer Aided Design and computer graphics. A complicated surface can be approximated by some triangular patches. The key technique of this problem is the estimate of the approximate error, this work improves the previous result and obtains a new result. These results are valuable for improving the triangulation and subdivision algorithm of parametric surface in the design system.  相似文献

Most published work on intersection algorithms for Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems addresses transversal intersections [1], situations where the surface normals of the surfaces intersected are well separated along all intersection curves. For transversal intersections the divide and conquer strategy of recursive subdivision, Sinha's theorem [2] and the convex hull property of NonUniform Rational B-Spline surfaces (NURBS) efficiently identify all intersection branches. However, in singular or near singular intersections, situations where the surfaces are parallel or near parallel in an intersection region, along an intersection curve or in an intersection point, even deep levels of subdivision will frequently not sort out the intersection topology. This paper presents a 3D geometric modelling of a twin helical spring and its finite element analysis to study the spring mechanical behaviour under tensile axial loading. The spiralled shape graphic design is achieved through the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, of which a finite element model is generated. Thus, a 3D 18-dof pentaedric elements are employed to discretise the complex “wired-shape” of the spring, allowing the analysis of the mechanical response of the twin spiralled helical spring under an axial load. The study provides a clear match between the evolution of the theoretical and the numerical tensile and compression normal stresses, being of sinusoidal behaviour. The overall equivalent stress isovalues increases radially from 0° to 180°, being maximal on the internal radial zone at the section 180°. On the other hand, the minimum stress level is located in the centre of the filament cross section.  相似文献

This paper presents the dual bases for Wang-Bézier curves with a position parameter L, which include Bézier curve, Wang-Ball curve and some intermediate curves. The Marsden identity and the transformation formulas from Bézier curve to Wang-Bézier curve are also given. These results are useful for the application of Wang-Bézier curve and their popularization in Computer Aided Geometric Design.  相似文献
