Two graphs are defined to be adjointly equivalent if and only if their complements are chromatically equivalent.Using the properties of the adjoint polynomials and the fourth character R4(G),the adjoint equivalence class of graph Bn-8,1,4 is determined.According to the relations between adjoint polynomial and chromatic polynomial,we also simultaneously determine the chromatic equivalence class of Bn-8,1,4 that is the complement of Bn-8,1,4.  相似文献

Let S be a primitive non-powerful symmetric loop-free signed digraph on even n vertices with base 3 and minimum number of arcs. In [Lihua YOU, Yuhan WU. Linear Algebra Appl., 2011, 434(5), 1215-1227], authors conjectured that D is the underlying digraph of S with exp(D) = 3 if and only if D is isomorphic to ED n,3,3 , where ED n,3,3 = (V, A) is a digraph with V = {1, 2, . . . , n}, A = {(1, i), (i, 1) | 3≤i≤n} ∪ {(2i-1, 2i), (2i, 2i-1) | 2≤i≤ n/2 } ∪ {(2, 3), (3, 2), (2, 4), (4, 2)}). In this paper, we show the conjecture is true and completely characterize the underlying digraphs which have base 3 and the minimum number of arcs.  相似文献

In this paper,we study the bases and base sets of primitive symmetric loop-free (generalized)signed digraphs on n vertices.We obtain sharp upper bounds of the bases,and show that the base sets of the classes of such digraphs are{2,3,...,2n-1}.We also give a new proof of an important result obtained by Cheng and Liu.  相似文献

A monomial basis and a filtration of subalgebras for the universal enveloping algebra U(gl) of a complex simple Lie algebra gl of type Bl and Cl are given, and the decomposition of the Weyl module V (λ) as a U(gl)-module into a direct sum of Weyl modules V (μ)’s as U(gl-1)modules is described. In this paper, we construct a kind of Weingarten surfaces in E3 and study its geometric properties. We first derive an explicit diffierential relationship between the principal curvatures of them. Then we prove an existence theorem of this kind of surfaces with prescribed principal curvatures. The Legendre–Stirling numbers are the coefficients in the integral Lagrangian symmetric powers of the classical Legendre second-order differential expression. In many ways, these numbers mimic the classical Stirling numbers of the second kind which play a similar role in the integral powers of the classical second-order Laguerre differential expression. In a recent paper, Andrews and Littlejohn gave a combinatorial interpretation of the Legendre–Stirling numbers. In this paper, we establish several properties of the Legendre–Stirling numbers; as with the Stirling numbers of the second kind, they have interesting generating functions and recurrence relations. Moreover, there are some surprising and intriguing results relating these numbers to some classical results in algebraic number theory.  相似文献

We prove a general symmetric identity involving the degenerate Bernoulli polynomials and sums of generalized falling factorials, which unifies several known identities for Bernoulli and degenerate Bernoulli numbers and polynomials. We use this identity to describe some combinatorial relations between these polynomials and generalized factorial sums. As further applications we derive several identities, recurrences, and congruences involving the Bernoulli numbers, degenerate Bernoulli numbers, generalized factorial sums, Stirling numbers of the first kind, Bernoulli numbers of higher order, and Bernoulli numbers of the second kind.  相似文献

For the horizontal generating functions Pn(z)=∑nk=1 S(nk) zk of the Stirling numbers of the second kind, strong asymptotics are established, as n→∞. By using the saddle point method for Qn(z)=Pn(nz) there are two main results: an oscillating asymptotic for z(−e, 0) and a uniform asymptotic on every compact subset of \[−e, 0].
