A new mechanism of the formation of spatially periodic structures on the nose surfaces of cylindrically blunted bodies in a hypersonic transverse flow is investigated. According to this mechanism, a curved shock wave produces a vortex flow, while the vortex, which is conserved in the presence of weak dissipation, acts on the shock and maintains its curved shape. The realizability of this vortex formation mechanism is verified by direct numerical simulation using the FLUENT software package. It is confirmed that in the case of uniform hypersonic freestream both plane and three-dimensional modes of the steady flow past the cylinder nose can exist. The three-dimensional mode is characterized by periodic-in-span vortex structures and considerable heat flux peaks on the nose surface. The calculated results are compared with the experimental data.  相似文献

Flow past blunt bodies entering planetary atmospheres at hypersonic velocities is studied. A method for calculating the flowfield near the body nose is developed which allows for radiative heat transfer in the P 1 approximation of the spherical harmonics method but does not take gas viscosity and heat conduction into account. The solution is constructed on the basis of a two-layer flow model, with account for intense injection of ablation products from the body nose due to radiative heat fluxes from the shock layer. The advantages of the method are that the multi-dimensional character of the radiation field is taken into account and the general problem of radiation gasdynamics is solved on the basis of a unified algorithm. The flow past a spherical segment and a spherically-blunted cone re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere at a velocity of 20 km/s and an entry angle of ?10° is calculated.  相似文献

The problem of formation of spatially periodic structures on the frontal surface of a cylindrically blunted body set transversely in a hypersonic flow is studied. Within the framework of the model adopted, a possible mechanism of vortex structure generation on the frontal surface of the blunt body is proposed and confirmed by calculations; in this mechanism, the curved bow shock produces a vortex flow, while in its turn the vortex, which persists under weak dissipation, acts on the shock thus maintaining its curved shape. It is shown that the spatially periodic mode of hypersonic flow past a cylinder can exist in the case of a uniform incident flow and under homogeneous boundary conditions on the body surface.  相似文献

Basic problems of super-and hypersonic magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) associated with the determination of the integral characteristics of bodies and vehicles inside which there are systems generating a uniform magnetic field are considered. Three classes of flows, namely, flow in a hypersonic multimode fixed-geometry air-intake; internal and external flow in a model of a hypersonic vehicle containing an air-intake with an MHD generator, a combustion chamber, and a supersonic nozzle; and hypersonic flow past a blunt cone are studied using numerical simulation and theoretical analysis (on the basis of the complete averaged system of Navier-Stokes equations and the electrodynamic equations). Attention is concentrated on the presence of an additionalmagnetic force acting on the system generating themagnetic field and, consequently, on the body and initiating an additional drag (in the case of a vehicle-reducing its thrust). Attractive possibilities for MHD flow control, namely, an increase in the degree of flow compression in the air-intake, a reduction in the ignition length in the combustion chamber, and a decrease in the heat flux to the nose of the body, are noted, as well as negative effects associated with the action of the magnetic force on the bodies considered.  相似文献

Chernyi [1, 2] has examined the problem of hypersonic flow past a ducted cone with sharp leading edge. In the following we present an analysis of the characteristic features of this problem in the case of a blunt leading edge. We use hypersonic theory for flow past slender bodies with nose blunting of relatively small dimensions [1, 3, 4], based on replacing the nose by a concentrated force and use of the nonsteady analogy. It has been shown in [4, 5] that within the framework of this theory the effect of the violation of the law of plane sections and also the effect of the chemical and physical transformations of the gas in the high-entropy layer is qualitatively equivalent to a change in the drag coefficient of the nose. This approach makes it possible to establish useful similarity laws. The development of these ideas in the direction of the study of the flow structure behind the bow shock wave and analysis of the parameters defining this structure is given in [6–8] in which, in particular, the role of the entropy distribution with respect to the streamlines in the transitional section between the nose and the side surface was clarified and the important practical empirical result was established that this distribution is universal for noses of any form for given flow conditions. In the following these results are extended to blunt bodies of revolution with a duct in the nose. We examine the flow region which is external to the duct under the assumption that the external flow regime corresponds to maximum flow rate through the duct. A characteristic feature of the problem is associated with the additional characteristic linear dimension r0, which determines the gas mass lost through the duct.  相似文献

Thin triangular blunt-nosed plate in a viscous hypersonic flow   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The effect of a small blunt nose on the hypersonic flow past a thin, high-sweep and high-aspect-ratio plate at small incidence is investigated. The analysis is made by means of numerical simulation within the framework of the parabolized Navier-Stokes equations and the Euler equations in combination with approximate methods for calculating the heat transfer. The results are compared with the data of experiments in which some nontrivial features of the heat flux distributions over the thin plate surface were revealed.  相似文献

Hypersonic three-dimensional viscous rarefied gas flow past blunt bodies is investigated in the neighborhood of the stagnation point. The problem of applicability of the model of a thin viscous shock layer to the regime of transition from continuum to free-molecular flow is considered. In [1], it was shown that at low Reynolds numbers three hypersonic flow regimes can be distinguished and one of those regimes was investigated. In the present study an asymptotic solution of the thin viscous shock layer equations is obtained for another flow regime. With decrease in the Reynolds number the heat transfer coefficient determined by the solution obtained approaches its free-molecular value and the friction coefficient approaches its free-molecular limit, provided that the shock layer thickness is small. The analytical solution is compared with a numerical solution and the results of calculations based on direct Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献

When a gas flows with hypersonic velocity over a slender blunt body, the bow shock induces large entropy gradients and vorticity near the wall in the disturbed flow region (in the high-entropy layer) [1]. The boundary layer on the body develops in an essentially inhomogeneous inviscid flow, so that it is necessary to take into account the difference between the values of the gas parameters on the outer edge of the boundary layer and their values on the wall in the inviscid flow. This vortex interaction is usually accompanied by a growth in the frictional stress and heat flux at the wall [2, 3]. In three-dimensional flows in which the spreading of the gas on the windward sections of the body causes the high-entropy layer to become narrower, the vortex interaction can be expected to be particularly important. The first investigations in this direction [4–6] studied the attachment lines of a three-dimensional boundary layer. The method proposed in the present paper for calculating the heat transfer generalizes the approach realized in [5] for the attachment lines and makes it possible to take into account this effect on the complete surface of a blunt body for three-dimensional laminar, transition, or turbulent flow regime in the boundary layer.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 80–87, January–February, 1981.  相似文献

An effective approximate technique for calculating heat transfer, viscous stress, and species components on the windward side of three-dimensional bodies at incidence in hypersonic flow is developed. Using the similarity method, the solution of the three-dimensional problem is reduced to the solution of an axisymmetric problem. For determining the heat flux on a real body, modified two-dimensional equations are solved for equivalent axisymmetric bodies, specially constructed for meridional planes of the original body. For an arbitrary three-dimensional geometry and angle of attack formulas are derived and a conversion program is developed. These make it possible to determine all the parameters of the equivalent body corresponding to a given meridional plane of the original body; then these parameters are used as input data for calculating the viscous flow past the body. The solutions of the two-dimensional equations for the equivalent bodies are in good agreement with more exact solutions of the three-dimensional equations.  相似文献

Diffusion equations and the corresponding transfer equations with effective transfer coefficients are derived using new unknown functions (linear combinations of diffusion fluxes and of concentrations) for reactive gas mixture flows with partial chemical equilibrium. The diffusion differential equations for rapid independent reactions degenerate into algebraic equations of detailed chemical equilibrium. The component formation sources on the right-hand sides of the remaining diffusion equations contain no rapid stages. It is shown that the assumption of partial chemical equilibrium is valid for hypersonic flow past blunt bodies with a nose radius of approx. 1 m on portions of their gliding reentry paths in the Earth's and Martian atmospheres.Moscow. Three-dimensional hypersonic viscous gas flow past smooth blunt bodies in the presence of injection or suction is considered. The effect of the nonuniformity of the approach stream on the shock-wave standoff, the flow structure and the friction and heat transfer coefficients is investigated with reference to the examples of flow from a supersonic spherical source and flow of the far wake type. It is shown that this effect depends importantly on the Reynolds number, the nature of the nonuniformity and the shape of the body.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 136–145, November–December, 1987.  相似文献

This work aims to investigate how the presence of a downstream cylinder affects the passive scalar transport in a cylinder wake. The wake was generated by two tandem brass circular cylinders of the same diameter (d). The cylinder centre-to-centre spacing L/d was 1.3, 2.5 and 4.0, respectively, covering the three typical flow regimes of this flow. The upstream cylinder was slightly heated. Measurements were conducted at x/d= 10 and Re (≡ dU /ν, where U is the free-stream velocity and ν is the kinematic viscosity of fluid) = 7000. A three-wire probe consisting of an X-wire and a cold wire was used to measure the velocity and temperature fluctuations, while an X-wire provided a phase reference. The phase-averaged velocity vectors and vorticity display single vortex street behind the downstream cylinder, irrespective of the flow regimes. However, the detailed flow structure exhibits strong dependence on L/d in terms of the Strouhal number, the vortex strength and its downstream evolution. This naturally affects passive scalar transport. The coherent and incoherent heat flux vectors show significant variation for different L/d.  相似文献

Much recent work has been done on developing methods of solving gas-dynamic problems in which radiation plays a part (see, for example, [1–7]). This is because the temperature in the shock layer associated with flight in the atmosphere at hypersonic velocities can reach values exceeding 104 °K. In such a case, heat transfer by radiation can make an important contribution to the total heat transfer. With increasing flight velocities, the importance of radiation in heat transfer increases and then becomes predominant. In the present paper, the large-particle method as developed by Belotserkovskii and Davydov [8] is developed to calculate flows with radiation around blunt bodies, including the case when there is distributed blowing from the surface of the bodies into the shock layer, which simulates ablation of a heat-shielding covering under the influence of strong heating by radiation. The results are given of systematic calculations of flow past blunt bodies of various shapes by a stream of radiating air, and the results are compared with the data of other methods.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 106–112, July–August, 1982.  相似文献

Hypersonic rarefied flow past blunt bodies is studied in the continuum-free-molecular transition regime. On the basis of an asymptotic analysis three rarefied gas flow patterns are established depending on the relation between the relevant parameters of the problem. In the first regime corresponding to a cold surface asymptotic solutions of the equations of a thin viscous shock layer are derived at low Reynolds numbers in the axisymmetric and plane cases. Simple analytical expressions for the pressure and the heat transfer and friction coefficients are obtained as functions of the freestream parameters and the body geometry. With decrease in the Reynolds number the coefficients approach the values corresponding to free-molecular flow. In this regime a similarity parameter for the hypersonic rarefied flow past bodies is determined. The asymptotic solutions are compared with numerical solutions and the results of direct statistical simulation by the Monte Carlo method.  相似文献

We present a curious situation of a fluid-flow wherein the body experiences non-fluctuating fluid-flow force despite being associated with an unsteady flow comprising of sustained vortex shedding. The flow past a circular cylinder at Re=100 is investigated. It is shown that the spatio-temporal periodicity of the oblique vortex shedding results in constant-in-time force experienced by a cylinder placed in uniform flow. On the contrary, parallel vortex shedding leads to fluid force that fluctuates with time. It is found that, both, the parallel and oblique shedding are linearly unstable eigenmodes of the Re=100 steady flow past a cylinder.  相似文献

We study flow and heat transfer to a cylinder in cross flow at Re = 3,900–80,000 by means of three-dimensional transient RANS (T-RANS) simulations, employing an RNG k − ε turbulence model. Both the case of a bare solid cylinder and that of a solid cylinder surrounded at some fixed distance by a thin porous layer have been studied. The latter configuration is a standard test geometry for measuring the insulating and protective performance of garments. In this geometry, the flow in the space between the solid cylinder and the porous layer is laminar but periodic, whereas the outer flow is transitional and characterized by vortex shedding in the wake of the cylinder. The results from the T-RANS simulations are validated against data from Direct Numerical Simulations and experiments. It is found that T-RANS is very well suited for simulating this type of flow. The transient nature of the flow underneath the porous layer is well reproduced, as well as the influence of vortex shedding on the heat transfer in the downstream stagnation zone. T-RANS results are found to be in much better agreement with DNS and experimental data than results from steady-state RANS.  相似文献

Gas flow and heat transfer on the surfaces of sharp and blunt plates is experimentally investigated in the presence of two forward-looking wedges at the Mach numbers M = 5, 6, and 8 and the Reynolds numbers up to ReL = 27×106. It is shown that the entropy layer generated by a small bluntness of the leading edge of the plate can considerably change the heat transfer, the gas pressure, and the friction in the zone of interference of the shock with the plate boundary layer. Under certain conditions a small plate bluntness can also lead to a qualitative change in the flow structure. The effect of constriction of the channel between the wedges on the interference flow is studied.  相似文献
