Gelatin-stabilized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs-gelatin) with controlled particle size were synthesized with simple variation of concentration of gelatin by reducing in situ tetrachloroauric acid with sodium citrate. The nanoparticles showed excellent colloidal stability. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed the formation of well-dispersed gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with different sizes. The methodology produces particles 10–15 nm in size depending on the concentration of gelatin used. The measured AuNPs are 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 nm for AuNPs-gelatin 1, 0.5, 0.25, 0.1 and 0.05%, and pure AuNPs, respectively. The AuNPs-gelatin exhibit size-dependent localized surface plasmon resonance behavior as measured by UV–visible spectroscopy. UV–vis spectroscopy and TEM results suggest that higher concentration of gelatin favor smaller particle size and vice versa. FTIR spectroscopy analysis of AuNPs-gelatin revealed the amino bands and carboxyl peak of gelatin. The crystalline nature of AuNPs was investigated by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The ferrihydrite mineral core of ferritin is a semi-conductor capable of catalyzing oxidation/reduction reactions. This report shows that ferritin can photoreduce AuCl4 to form gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). An important goal was to identify innocent reaction conditions that prevented formation of AuNPs unless the sample was illuminated in the presence of ferritin. TRIS buffer satisfied this requirement and produced AuNPs with spherical morphology with diameters of 5.7 ± 1.6 nm and a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at 530 nm. Size-exclusion chromatography of the AuNP–ferritin reaction mixture produced two fractions containing both ferritin and AuNPs. TEM analysis of the fraction close to where native ferritin normally elutes showed that AuNPs form inside ferritin. The other peak eluted at a volume indicating a particle size much larger than ferritin. TEM analysis revealed AuNPs adjacent to ferritin molecules suggesting that a dimeric ferritin–AuNP species forms. We propose that the ferritin protein shell acts as a nucleation site for AuNP formation leading to the AuNP-ferritin dimeric species. Ferrihydrite nanoparticles (~10 nm diameter) were unable to produce soluble AuNPs under identical conditions unless apo ferritin was present indicating that the ferritin protein shell was essential for stabilizing AuNPs in aqueous solution.  相似文献

The preparation and application of rod-shaped core–shell structured Fe3O4–Au nanoparticles for immunomagnetic separation and sensing were described for the first time with this study. To synthesize magnetic gold nanorod particles, the seed-mediated synthetic method was carried out and the resulting nanoparticles were characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Magnetic properties of the nanoparticles were also examined. Characterization of the magnetic gold nanorod particles has proven that the resulting nanoparticles were composed of Fe3O4 core and the gold shell. The rod-shaped gold-coated iron nanoparticles have an average diameter of 16 ± 2 nm and an average length of about 50 ± 5 nm (corresponding aspect ratio of 3). The saturation magnetization value for the magnetic gold nanorod particles was found to be 37 emu/g at 300 K. Rapid and room temperature reaction synthesis of magnetic gold nanorod particles and subsequent surface modification with E. coli antibodies provide immunomagnetic separation and SERS application. The analytical performance of the SERS-based homogenous sandwich immunoassay system with respect to linear range, detection limit, and response time is also presented.  相似文献

We demonstrate an affinity system based on the interaction of two types of nanoparticles. The first consists of upconverting luminescent NaYF4:Yb,Er nanoparticles (UCNPs) with a size of 40–100 nm, absorbing light in the infrared and showing luminescence at 521, 543 and at 657 nm. The second consists of (red) gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) with a size of about 50 nm and capable of absorbing the green luminescence of the UCNPs. By labeling the UCNPs with avidin and the AuNPs with biotin we have established a model system for a self referenced affinity system applicable to sensing in biological samples. In the presence of avidin-modified UCNPs, the biotinylated Au-NPs can be detected in the range from 12 to 250 μg mL−1 by ratioing the intensity of the red (analyte-independent) emission to that of the green (analyte-dependent) emission band. The nanoparticles were characterized in terms of size and composition using transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetry, and FTIR spectroscopy.  相似文献

In this study, the meso-tetra (p-hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin and meso-tetra (m-hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin were coated on to gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) via thioacetate anchors which easily dissociate to form S–Au bonds. 4-tert-butyl phenyl thioacetate-AuNPs were prepared and used as a monodentate passivant to control the size of the tetradentate porphyrin-AuNPs. The porphyrin-coated AuNPs were characterized by UV–Vis, TEM, XRD, and XPS analyses. The tetradentate porphyrin-AuNPs size is within a range of 5–15 nm in diameter with exotic shapes. The plausible network formation for AuNP@p-TPP-SAc and the capping structure of the AuNP@m-TPP-SAc have been suggested.  相似文献

A rapid in situ biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is proposed in which a geranium (Pelargonium zonale) leaf extract was used as a non-toxic reducing and stabilizing agent in a sonocatalysis process based on high-power ultrasound. The synthesis process took only 3.5 min in aqueous solution under ambient conditions. The stability of the nanoparticles was studied by UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy with reference to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band. AuNPs have an average lifetime of about 8 weeks at 4 °C in the absence of light. The morphology and crystalline phase of the gold nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The composition of the nanoparticles was evaluated by electron diffraction and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). A total of 80% of the gold nanoparticles obtained in this way have a diameter in the range 8–20 nm, with an average size of 12 ± 3 nm. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) indicated the presence of biomolecules that could be responsible for reducing and capping the biosynthesized gold nanoparticles. A hypothesis concerning the type of organic molecules involved in this process is also given. Experimental design linked to the simplex method was used to optimize the experimental conditions for this green synthesis route. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a high-power ultrasound-based sonocatalytic process and experimental design coupled to a simplex optimization process has been used in the biosynthesis of AuNPs.  相似文献

Metallic gold nanoparticles have been synthesized by the reduction of chloroaurate anions [AuCl4] solution with hydrazine in the aqueous starch and ethylene glycol solution at room temperature and at atmospheric pressure. The characterization of synthesized gold nanoparticles by UV–vis spectroscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), electron diffraction analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-rays photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicate that average size of pure gold nanoparticles is 3.5 nm, they are spherical in shape and are pure metallic gold. The concentration effects of [AuCl4] anions, starch, ethylene glycol, and hydrazine, on particle size, were investigated, and the stabilization mechanism of Au nanoparticles by starch polymer molecules was also studied by FT-IR and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). FT-IR and TGA analysis shows that hydroxyl groups of starch are responsible of capping and stabilizing gold nanoparticles. The UV–vis spectrum of these samples shows that there is blue shift in surface plasmon resonance peak with decrease in particle size due to the quantum confinement effect, a supporting evidence of formation of gold nanoparticles and this shift remains stable even after 3 months.  相似文献

In-situ functionalization of gold nanoparticles with fluorophore-tagged oligonucleotides is studied by comparing femtosecond laser ablation in stationary liquid and in biomolecule flow. Femtosecond laser pulses induce significant degradation to sensitive biomolecules when ablating gold in a stationary solution of oligonucleotides. Contrary, in-situ conjugation of nanoparticles in biomolecule flow considerably reduces the degree of degradation studied by gel electrophoresis and UV–Vis spectrometry. Ablating gold with 100 μJ femtosecond laser pulses DNA sequence does not degrade, while the degree of fluorophore tag degradation was 84% in stationary solution compared to 5% for 1 mL/min liquid flow. It is concluded that femtosecond laser-induced degradation of biomolecules is triggered by absorption of nanoparticle conjugates suspended in the colloid and not by ablation of the target. Quenching of nanoparticle size appears from 0.5 μM biomolecule concentration for 0.3 μg/s nanoparticle productivity indicating the successful surface functionalization. Finally, increasing the liquid flow rate from stationary to 450 mL/min enhances nanoparticle productivity from 0.2 μg/s to 1.5 μg/s, as increasing liquid flow allows removal of light absorbing nanoparticles from the ablation zone, avoiding attenuation of subsequent laser photons.  相似文献

Janus nanoparticles were prepared by taking advantage of interfacial ligand exchange reactions of hydrophobic hexanethiolate-protected gold nanoparticles with hydrophilic 2-(2-mercaptoethoxy)ethanol (MEA). A monolayer of the particles was first formed at the air–water interface by the Langmuir technique and then deposited onto a substrate surface by the Langmuir–Blodgett method. The particle monolayer was then immersed into an aqueous solution of MEA for different periods of time. It was found that the exchange reactions occurred but were limited only to the top face of the nanoparticles and the reaction reached equilibrium in about 8 h. The resulting particles exhibited amphiphilic characters as confirmed by contact angle and UV–visible, FTIR and NMR spectroscopic measurements. Of these, the structural discrepancy between the Janus nanoparticles and bulk-exchanged particles was clearly manifested, in particular, by NOESY NMR measurements.  相似文献

A wet chemical deposition method for preparing transparent conductive thin films on the base of Al-doped ZnO (AZO) nanoparticles has been demonstrated. AZO nanoparticles with a size of 7 nm have been synthesised by a simple precipitation method in refluxed conditions in ethanol using zinc acetate and Al-isopropylate. The presence of Al in ZnO was revealed by the EDX elemental analysis (1.8 at.%) and UV–Vis spectroscopy (a blue shift due to Burstein–Moss effect). The obtained colloid solution with the AZO nanoparticles was used for preparing by spin-coating thin films on glass substrates. The film demonstrated excellent homogeneity and transparency (T > 90%) in the visible spectrum after heating at 400 °C. Its resistivity turned to be excessively high (ρ = 2.6 Ω cm) that we ascribe to a poor charge percolation due to a high film porosity revealed by SEM observations. To improve the percolation via reducing the porosity, a sol–gel solution was deposited “layer-by-layer” in alternation with layers derived from the AZO colloid followed by heating. As it was shown by optical spectroscopy measurements, the density of thus prepared film was increased more than twice leading to a significant decrease in resistivity to 1.3 × 10−2 Ω cm.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles are very attractive for biomedical products. However, there is a serious lack of information concerning the biological activity of nanosized gold in human tissue cells. An influence of nanoparticles on stem cells might lead to unforeseen consequences to organ and tissue functions as long as all cells arising from the initial stem cell might be subsequently damaged. Therefore the effect of negatively charged gold nanoparticles (9 and 95 nm), which are certified as reference material for preclinical biomedical research, on the adipogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) is investigated here. Bone marrow hMSCs are chosen as differentiation model since bone marrow hMSCs are well characterized and their differentiation into the adipogenic lineage shows clear and easily detectable differentiation. In this study effects of gold nanoparticles on adipogenic differentiation are analyzed regarding fat storage and mitochondrial activity after different exposure times (4–21 days). Using time lapse microscopy the differentiation progress under chronically gold nanoparticle treatment is continuously investigated. In this preliminary study, chronically treatment of adipogenic differentiating hMSCs with gold nanoparticles resulted in a reduced number and size of lipid vacuoles and reduced mitochondrial activity depending on the applied concentration and the surface charge of the particles.  相似文献

Ultrasound and plant extract are two green approaches that have been used to synthesize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs); however, how the combination of ultrasound and citrus peel extract (CPE) affects the structure characteristics and the bioactivity of AuNPs remains unknown. Here we investigated the effects of ultrasound conditions on the particle size, stability, yield, phenolic encapsulation efficacy, and the anti-inflammatory activity of AuNPs. The results showed that temperature was positively correlated to the particle size and the anti-inflammatory activity of synthesized AuNPs. Increasing the power intensity significantly decreased the particle size, while increased the change of total phenolic content (ΔTPC) in the reaction mixture. The increase of ΔTPC caused the enhanced anti-inflammatory activity of AuNPs. The AuNPs synthesized with or without ultrasound treatment were characterized using UV–Vis, DLS, SEM, TEM, EDS, XRD, and FT-IR. The result verified the formation of negatively charged, spherical, stable, and monodispersed AuNPs. AuNPs synthesized with ultrasound (AuNPs-U) has smaller particle size (13.65 nm vs 16.80 nm), greater yield and anti-inflammatory activity (IC50, 82.91 vs 157.71 μg/mL) than its non-ultrasound counterpart (AuNPs-NU). HPLC analysis showed that hesperidin was the key reductant for the synthesis of AuNPs. AuNPs-U also inhibited the mRNA and protein expression of iNOS and COX-2 in the LPS-induced Raw 264.7 cells. Our research elucidates the relationship between the reaction conditions and the structure characteristics and the anti-inflammatory activity of AuNPs synthesized using CPE with the help of ultrasound, thereafter, provides a feasible and economic way to synthesize AuNPs that can be used to ameliorate inflammation.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles have been precipitated on the surface of quartz slides covered with titanium (IV) butoxide. UV irradiation of modified quartz slides immersed into water solutions of hydrogen tetrachloroaurate of different concentrations (2.5 × 10−4–1.0 × 10−2 M) has been used for this purpose. Properties of produced samples have been investigated by UV–Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, SEM-EDX, TGA, and AFM. According to the obtained data, produced gold particles are distributed on modified quartz surface very uniformly and the average size of gold particles is about 30–50 nm.  相似文献

A direct and simple inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) method for the determination of gold nanoparticles (AuNP) with different particle sizes ranging from 5 to 20 nm and suspended in aqueous solutions is described. The results show no significant difference compared to the determination of the same AuNPs after digestion, as claimed by the literature. The obtained limit of quantification of the method is 0.15 μg/L Au(III) that corresponds to 4.40 × 109 AuNP/L, considering spherical AuNPs 15 nm sized. Spike recovery experiments have shown that the sample matrix is a significant factor influencing the accuracy of the measurement. Spike recoveries from 93% to 95% are found for AuNP samples prepared in trisodium citrate, while for deionized H2O a spike recovery of around 80% was obtained. The sample preparation mode along with the ICP-MS parameters have been optimized and found to be crucial so as to achieve the required accuracy for the direct quantification of AuNP suspensions. The effect of the nanoparticle size upon the ICP-MS signal also was studied, and only significant differences due to the chemical environment and not to the AuNPs size were found.  相似文献

The dispersion of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in solid matrices, maintaining their optical properties as in liquid medium, has been explored, enlarging the possibilities of handling and applications of these nanoparticles. In this study, AuNPs were successfully enclosed in silica using the sol–gel method and high-pressure processing at 7.7 GPa, at room temperature, obtaining compacts with densities as high as 85% of silica glass and Vickers microhardness of 50% of quartz. This densification was confirmed by the reduced values of specific surface area and closed pores. UV–Vis spectra showed that the AuNPs maintain their optical properties, in the monoliths and in the compacts, presenting an absorption band in the characteristic region of AuNPs smaller than 20 nm. The slight red-shifts of the absorption peaks cannot be explained in the same way as for AuNPs in solution, where it is associated to an increase in particle diameter. In solid samples, additional factors as matrix properties should be considered. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed that the AuNPs have spherical shape both in solution and in the monolith, with an average diameter not exceeding 10 nm. It was also observed that the high-pressure processing did not destroy or misshape the AuNPs.  相似文献

We studied the kinetics of the reduction of a gold precursor (HAuCl4) and the effect of the molar ratio (R) of sodium citrate, which was introduced from a seed solution, and the gold precursor on the shape evolution of gold nanomaterials in the presence of preformed 13 nm gold nanoparticles as seeds. The reduction of the gold precursor by sodium citrate was accelerated due to the presence of gold seeds. Nearly single-crystalline gold nanowires were formed at a very low R value (R = 0.16) in the presence of the seeds as a result of the oriented attachment of the growing gold nanoparticles. At a higher R value (R = 0.33), gold nanochains were formed due to the non-oriented attachment of gold nanoparticles. At a much higher R value (R = 1.32), only larger spherical gold nanoparticles grown from the seeds were found. In the absence of gold seeds, no single-crystalline nanowires were formed at the same R value. Our results indicate that the formation of the 1D nanostructures (nanochains and nanowires) at low R values is due to the attachment of gold nanoparticles along one direction, which is driven by the surface energy reduction, nanoparticle attraction, and dipole–dipole interaction between adjacent nanoparticles.  相似文献

ZnO nanoparticles, nanowires, and nanowalls were synthesized rapidly on Si via thermal decomposition of zinc acetate by a modified chemical vapor deposition at a low substrate temperature of 200–250°C for the first time. The diameters of the synthesized nanoparticles and nanowires are around 100 and 30 nm, respectively, and the thickness of nanowalls is around 20 nm. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy shows that the nanowires as well as nanowalls are single-crystalline, and the nanoparticles are highly-textured poly-crystalline structures. Room-temperature photoluminescence spectra of the nanostructures show strong ultraviolet emissions centered at 368–383 nm and weak violet emissions at around 425 nm, indicating good crystal quality. The study provides a simple and efficient route to synthesize ZnO diverse nanostructures at low temperature.  相似文献

In this article, silver nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical reduction from silver nitrate using triethylamine as the protecting and reducing agents simultaneously. The average size of the silver nanoparticles was about 2.10–4.65 nm, which allowed low-temperature sintering of the metal. X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and energy dispersive spectrometric (EDS) analysis results indicate that silver nitrate has been converted to silver nanoparticles completely. Using a 20 wt% silver nanoparticles suspension with thermal treatment at 150 °C, silver films with a resistivity of 8.09 × 10−5 Ω cm have been produced, which is close to the resistivity of bulk silver.  相似文献

To synthesize low-cost, highly conductive metal nanoparticles for inkjet printing materials, we synthesized Sn–Ag bimetallic nanoparticles using a polyol process with poly(vinyl pyrrolidone). Because a surface oxidation layer forms on Sn nanoparticles, various compositions of Sn–xAg [x = 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 (wt%)] nanoparticles were synthesized and characterized for the purpose of removing the β-Sn phase. The results of XPS, TEM, and XRD analyses confirm that the formation of a bimetallic phase, such as Ag4Sn or Ag3Sn, hinders the β-Sn phase and, consequently, leads to the removal of the surface oxidation layer. To measure the sheet resistance of various compositions of Sn–Ag nanoparticles, we made the ink that contains Sn–Ag by dispersing 10 wt% of Sn–Ag nanoparticles in methanol. The sheet resistance is decreased by the conductive Sn–Ag phases, such as the fcc, Ag4Sn, and Ag3Sn phases, but sharply increased by the low-conductive Sn nanoparticles and the surface oxidation layer on the Sn nanoparticles. The sheet resistance results confirm that 80Ag20Sn and 60Ag40Sn bimetallic nanoparticles are suitable candidates for inkjet printing materials.  相似文献
