In this paper, we present necessary as well as sufficient conditions for a given feasible point to be a global minimizer of the difference of quadratic and convex functions subject to bounds on the variables. We show that the necessary conditions become necessary and sufficient for global minimizers in the case of a weighted sum of squares minimization problems. We obtain sufficient conditions for global optimality by first constructing quadratic underestimators and then by characterizing global minimizers of the underestimators. We also derive global optimality conditions for the minimization of the difference of quadratic and convex functions over binary constraints. We discuss several numerical examples to illustrate the significance of the optimality conditions. We introduce the p-adic weighted multilinear Hardy-Cesàro operator. We also obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions on weight functions to ensure the boundedness of that operator on the product of Lebesgue spaces, Morrey spaces, and central bounded mean oscillation spaces. In each case, we obtain the corresponding operator norms. We also characterize the good weights for the boundedness of the commutator of weighted multilinear Hardy-Cesàro operator on the product of central Morrey spaces with symbols in central bounded mean oscillation spaces.  相似文献

Under study are sufficient sets in Fréchet spaces of entire functions with uniform weighted estimates. We obtain general results on the a priori overflow of these sets and introduce the concept of their minimality. We also establish necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequence of points on the complex plane to be a minimal sufficient set for a weighted Fréchet space. Applications are given to the problem of representation of holomorphic functions in a convex domain with certain growth near the boundary by exponential series.  相似文献

We study the L-approximation problem for weighted Banach spaces of smooth d-variate functions, where d can be arbitrarily large. We consider the worst case error for algorithms that use finitely many pieces of information from different classes. Adaptive algorithms are also allowed. For a scale of Banach spaces we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for tractability in the case of product weights. Furthermore, we show the equivalence of weak tractability with the fact that the problem does not suffer from the curse of dimensionality.  相似文献

Weighted composition operators have been related to products of composition operators and their adjoints and to isometries of Hardy spaces. In this paper, Hermitian weighted composition operators on weighted Hardy spaces of the unit disk are studied. In particular, necessary conditions are provided for a weighted composition operator to be Hermitian on such spaces. On weighted Hardy spaces for which the kernel functions are ${(1 - \overline{w}z)^{-\kappa}}$ for κ ≥ 1, including the standard weight Bergman spaces, the Hermitian weighted composition operators are explicitly identified and their spectra and spectral decompositions are described. Some of these Hermitian operators are part of a family of closely related normal weighted composition operators. In addition, as a consequence of the properties of weighted composition operators, we compute the extremal functions for the subspaces associated with the usual atomic inner functions for these weighted Bergman spaces and we also get explicit formulas for the projections of the kernel functions on these subspaces.  相似文献

The Fourier coefficient map is considered as an operator from a weighted Lorentz space on the circle to a weighted Lorentz sequence space. For a large range of Lorentz indices, necessary and sufficient conditions on the weights are given for the map to be bounded. In addition, new direct analogues are given for known weighted Lorentz space inequalities for the Fourier transform. Applications are given that involve Fourier coefficients of functions in LogL and more general Lorentz–Zygmund spaces.  相似文献

The continuity of the differentiation operator on weighted Banach spaces of entire functions with sup-norm has been characterized recently by Harutyunyan and Lusky. We give necessary and sufficient conditions to ensure that the differentiation operator on these weighted Banach spaces of entire functions is hypercyclic or chaotic, when it is continuous. We study the moments and the distribution of the discrete Choquet integral when regarded as a real function of a random sample drawn from a continuous distribution. Since the discrete Choquet integral includes weighted arithmetic means, ordered weighted averaging functions, and lattice polynomial functions as particular cases, our results encompass the corresponding results for these aggregation functions. After detailing the results obtained in [J.-L. Marichal, I. Kojadinovic, Distribution functions of linear combinations of lattice polynomials from the uniform distribution, Statistics & Probability Letters 78 (2008) 985–991] in the uniform case, we present results for the standard exponential case, show how approximations of the moments can be obtained for other continuous distributions such as the standard normal, and elaborate on the asymptotic distribution of the Choquet integral. The results presented in this work can be used to improve the interpretation of discrete Choquet integrals when employed as aggregation functions.  相似文献

We study strong tractability and tractability of multivariate integration in the worst case setting. This problem is considered in weighted tensor product reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. We analyze three variants of the classical Sobolev space of non-periodic and periodic functions whose first mixed derivatives are square integrable. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions on strong tractability and tractability in terms of the weights of the spaces. For the three Sobolev spaces periodicity has no significant effect on strong tractability and tractability. In contrast, for general reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces anything can happen: we may have strong tractability or tractability for the non-periodic case and intractability for the periodic one, or vice versa.  相似文献

The authors study the tractability and strong tractability of a multivariate integration problem in the worst case setting for weighted l-periodic continuous functions spaces of d coordinates with absolutely convergent Fourier series.The authors reduce the initial error by a factor ε for functions from the unit ball of the weighted periodic contin- uous functions spaces.Tractability is the minimal number of function samples required to solve the problem in polynomial in ε~(-1)and d.and the strong tractability is the pres- ence of only a polynomial dependence in ε.This problem has been recently studied for quasi-Monte Carlo quadrature rules.quadrature rules with non-negative coefficients. and rules for which all quadrature weights are arbitrary for weighted Korobov spaces of smooth periodic functions of d variables.The authors show that the tractability and strong tractability of a multivariate integration problem in worst case setting hold for the weighted periodic continuous functions spaces with absolutely convergent Fourier series under the same assumptions as in Ref.[14]on the weights of the Korobov space for quasi-Monte Carlo rules and rules for which all quadrature weights are non-negative.The arguments are not constructive.  相似文献
