Solar cells were fabricated using novel bubble-like CdSe nanoclusters sensitized highly ordered titanium oxide nanotube (TiO2 NT) array, prepared by anodization technique. The CdSe sensitization of TiO2 NT arrays was carried out by a chemical bath deposition method with freshly prepared sodium selenosufite, ammonium hydroxide and cadmium acetate dehydrate at different deposition times: 20, 40 and 60 min. The adsorption of CdSe nanoclusters on the upper and inner surface of the TiO2 NT arrays has been confirmed by field emission scanning electron and transmission electron microscopes. The results show the variation in cell a performance with different deposition times (20, 40, and 60 min) of CdSe on TiO2 NT arrays. The solar cell with CdSe, deposited for 60 min, shows reasonably high photovoltaic property compared to the reported results of similar studies. This solar cell shows the maximum photoelectric conversion efficiency of 1.56% (photocurrent of 7.19 mA/cm2; photovoltage of 0.438 V; and fill factor of 49.5%) and average incident photon to current efficiency of 50.2%. The photocurrent, incident photon-current efficiency and electron lifetime have been improved due to the increase of covered area and size of bubble-like CdSe nanoclusters on TiO2 NT arrays with the increase of deposition time.  相似文献

The CdSe quantum dots (QDs) modified by mercapto-β-cyclodextrin (CD) were synthesized and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, excitation and emission spectra, and fluorescence lifetime. When λex = 370 nm, the fluorescence peak of CdSe/CD QDs is at 525 nm. Phenanthroline (Phen) is able to quench their fluorescence, which can be recovered by the addition of DNA. The quenching and restoration of fluorescence intensity were found to be linearly proportional to the amount of Phen and DNA, respectively. The variation of the fluorescence intensity of the CdSe/CD QDs–Phen system was studied, and it was demonstrated to result from a static mechanism due to the formation of a Phen inclusion complex with the CdSe QDs modified by mercapto-β-cyclodextrin. The fluorescence recovery was due to the binding of DNA with Phen in the inclusion complex, leading to the freeing of the CdSe/CD QDs. The binding constants and sizes of the binding sites of the Phen–DNA interaction were calculated to be 1.33 × 107 mol?1 L and 10.79 bp.  相似文献

ZnO nanostructures have been synthesized by radiolytic methods. A Cobalt-60 γ-source and a 7 MeV linear electron accelerator (LINAC) was used for the radiolysis experiments. Reducing agent like hydrated electron (eaq), which is produced in radiolysis of water, was used to synthesize ZnO nanostructure materials from zinc salt. 1 M tert-butanol was used to quench the primary oxidizing radical like hydroxyl radical (OH) radiolytic water solution. Doses of about 80–130 kGy were used to perform radiolysis experiments in the present investigation. Time-resolved pulse radiolysis has been used to monitor the transient species involved in the formation of ZnO nanostructures by monitoring at different wavelengths. A scheme for the formation of the ZnO nanostructured materials by the radiolytic method has been described. The formation of ZnO nanostructures was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements indicated that the size of the nanostructures is in the range of 6–8 nm, which is in agreement with that obtained from XRD. It is interesting to note that ZnO nanostructured materials, as prepared by the radiolytic method, exhibit strong room-temperature fluorescence.  相似文献

The role of reduced graphene oxide(rGO) in the enhancement of photo-conversion efficiency of ZnO films for photoelectrochemical(PEC) water-splitting applications was analyzed. ZnO and rGO-hybridized ZnO(rGO/ZnO) films were prepared via a two-step electrochemical deposition method followed by annealing at 300 °C under argon gas flow. The physical, optical and electrochemical properties of the films were characterized to identify the effect of rGO-hybridization on the applied bias photon-to-current efficiency(ABPE) of ZnO. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction indicated the formation of verticallyaligned, wurtzite-phase ZnO nanorods. Diffuse-reflectance UV–visible spectroscopy indicated that rGO-hybridization was able to increase the light absorption range of the rGO/ZnO film. UPS analysis showed that hybridization with rGO increased the band gap of ZnO(3.56 eV) to 3.63 eV for rGO/ZnO sample, which may be attributed to the Burstein–Moss effect. Photoluminescence(PL) spectra disclosed that rGOhybridization suppressed electron-hole recombination due to crystal defects. Linear sweep voltammetry of the prepared thin films showed photocurrent density of 1.0 and 1.8 m A/cm~2 for ZnO and rGO/ZnO at+0.7 V, which corresponded to an ABPE of 0.55% and 0.95%, respectively. Thus, this report highlighted the multi-faceted role of rGO-hybridization in the enhancement of ZnO photo-conversion efficiency.  相似文献

In order to absorb a broad spectrum in visible region, a co-sensitized TiO2 electrode was prepared by CdSe and Mg-doped CdSe quantum dots (Q dots). The power conversion efficiency of the co-sensitized Q dots photoelectrochemical solar cells (PECs) showed 1.03% under air mass 1.5 condition (I = 100 mW/cm2), which is higher than that of individual Q dots-sensitized PECs. The incident-photon-to-current conversion efficiency of the co-sensitized PECs showed absorption peaks at 541 and 578 nm corresponding to the two Q dots and displayed a broad spectral response over the entire visible spectrum in the 500–600 nm wavelength domains.  相似文献

A high-sensitive cholesterol amperometric biosensor based on the immobilization of cholesterol oxidase (ChOx) onto the ZnO nanoparticles has been fabricated which shows a very high and reproducible sensitivity of 23.7 μA mM?1 cm?2, detection limit (based on S/N ratio) 0.37 ± 0.02 nM, response time less than 5 s, linear range from 1.0 to 500.0 nM and correlation coefficient of R = 0.9975. A relatively low value of enzyme’s kinetic parameter (Michaelis–Menten constant) ~4.7 mM has been obtained which indicates the enhanced enzymatic affinity of ChOx to Cholesterol. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report in which such a very high-sensitivity and low detection limit has been achieved for the cholesterol biosensor by using ZnO nanostructures modified electrodes.  相似文献

We have synthesized ZnO nanocrystals of different sizes (25–41 nm) using the sol–gel method and characterized them using different techniques such as: transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Raman spectra of different sizes of ZnO nanocrystals were recorded at two excitation wavelengths, 514 and 647 nm, in the spectral range 300–1200 cm−1. The vibrational modes were assigned on the basis of group theory analysis. The influence of mean crystallite size on the strength of the electron–phonon coupling is experimentally estimated by the variation of relative intensities of second order Raman band and the first order Raman band for ZnO nanocrystals of different sizes. We found that the intensity ratio of the 2E2 and 1E2 Raman bands decreases almost linearly for both excitation wavelengths with decreasing crystallite size, which reveals that the Fröhlich interaction plays a dominant role in the electron–phonon coupling of the ZnO nanocrystals.  相似文献

Plastic dye-sensitized solar cells have been fabricated based on an organic dye (D 149) and ZnO photoanode prepared via room temperature electrophoretic deposition (EPD) to yield a conversion efficiency of 4.17% under 100 mW cm?2 AM 1.5 illumination. Intensity modulated photocurrent spectroscopy analyses reveal that the fabricated ZnO electrodes have adequate interparticle connection, even in the absence of any post-treatment. This study demonstrates that EPD is a convenient method for photoanode fabrication and ZnO photoelectrodes obtained via EPD are promising for efficient plastic solar cells.  相似文献

A new and simple direct precipitation method assisted with ultrasonic agitation was proposed for the preparation of spherical ZnO nanoparticles. The size of the ZnO nanoparticles, 10 nm to 85 nm, was tuned through controlling the calcination temperature and changing the ratio of the reactants. The resonant light scattering (RLS) of the ZnO nanoparticles dispersed/suspended in aqueous solution of Triton X-100 was studied under room temperature. It was found that the ZnO nanoparticles of different size or concentration all have a characteristic RLS peak at 387 nm. Under optimal conditions, the RLS intensity was proportional to the ZnO concentration in the range of 7.3 × 10?8–1 × 10?4 mol L?1, while the cubic root of the RLS intensity was found to be proportional to the size of ZnO nanoparticles. Further, the quantitative relationship of the size of the ZnO nanoparticles versus the calcination temperature was derived, and this could be used to forecast/control the nano-size in the nano-ZnO preparation.  相似文献

Carbon deposition during methanol to hydrocarbons leads to the quick deactivation of ZSM-5 catalyst and it is one of the major problems for this technology. Decreasing the crystal size or introducing mesopores into ZSM-5 zeolites can improve its diffusion property and decrease the coke formation. In this paper, nano-sized ZSM-5 zeolite with intercrystalline mesopores combining the mesoporous and nanosized structure was fabricated. For comparison, the mesoporous ZSM-5 and nano-sized ZSM-5 were also prepared. These catalyst samples were characterized by XRD, BET, NH3-TPD, TEM, Py-IR and TG techniques and used on the conversion of methanol to gasoline in a fixed-bed reactor at T = 405 °C, WHSV = 4.74 h-1and P = 1.0 MPa. It was found that the external surface area of the nano-sized ZSM-5 zeolite with intercrystalline mesopores reached 104 m2/g, larger than that of mesoporous ZSM-5(66 m2/g) and nanosized ZSM-5(76 m2/g). Catalytic lifetime of the nano-sized ZSM-5 zeolite with intercrystalline mesopores was 93 h, which was only longer than that of mesoporous ZSM-5(86 h), but shorter than that of nanosized ZSM-5(104 h). Strong acidity promoted the coke formation and thus decreased the catalytic lifetime of the nano-sized ZSM-5 zeolite with intercrystalline mesopores though it presented large external surface that could improve the diffusion property. The special zeolite catalyst was further dealuminated to decrease the strong acidity. After this, its coke formation rate was slowed and catalytic lifetime was prolonged to 106 h because of the large external surface area and decreased weak acidity. This special structural zeolite is a potential catalyst for methanol to gasoline reaction.  相似文献

The low temperature heat capacity of the ZnO–CoO solid solution system was measured from 2 to 300 K using the heat capacity option of a Quantum Design Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS). The thermodynamic functions in this temperature range were derived by curve fitting. The standard entropies of bulk ZnO and bulk ZnO–CoO (wurtzite, 18 mol% CoO) at T = 298.15 K were calculated to be (43.1 ± 0.4) J · mol−1 · K−1 and (45.2 ± 0.5) J · mol−1 · K−1, respectively. The surface entropy of ZnO was evaluated to be (0.02 ± 0.01) mJ · K−1 · m−2, which is essentially zero. No sharp magnetic transitions were observed in the solid solution samples. The nanophase solid solution, 12 mol% CoO, appears to bind H2O on its surface more strongly than ZnO.  相似文献

Membrane-less and mediator-free direct electron transfer enzymatic biofuel cells (BFCs) with bioelectrodes comprised of single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) deposited by two methods on porous silicon (pSi) substrates, are reported. In one method the SWNTs were grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and then functionalized with carboxylic groups, and in the second method, pre-synthesized carboxylated SWNTs (c-SWNTs) were electrophoretically deposited on gold-coated pSi. Anodic glucose oxidase (GOx) and cathodic laccase (Lac) were immobilized on the pSi/SWNT substrates to form BFCs in pH 7 phosphate buffer solution. A peak power density of 1.38 μW/cm2 (with a lifetime of 24 h) down to 0.3 μW/cm2 was obtained for a BFC comprised of c-SWNT/enzyme electrodes in 4 mM glucose solution as fuel, corresponding to normal blood sugar concentration, and air as oxidant. BFCs of this relatively simple architecture have the potential for further optimization of power output and lifetime.  相似文献

Rosette-like structures of ZnO were synthesized at low temperature (60 °C) using solution process over 20 min of time. Hydroxylamine hydrochloride was used as capping agent with zinc nitrate hexahydrate and sodium hydroxide. Transition from triangular shaped plate like particles to rosette-like structure and to individual nanorods is observed with increasing refluxing temperature. Single-crystalline nature with wurtzite hexagonal phase is confirmed from transmission electron microscopic observations. Photoelectron spectroscopic measurement presented spectra close to the standard bulk ZnO, with an O 1s peak composed of surface adsorbed O–H group, O2? in the oxygen vacancies on ZnO structure and ZnO.  相似文献

Chemically crosslinked polyacrylamide-based hydrogel has been first used as the polymer matrix to prepare quasi-solid-state polysulfide electrolyte for CdS/CdSe co-sensitized solar cells (QDSCs). The room temperature ionic conductivity of the gel electrolyte reaches 0.093 S·cm?1. QDSCs based on this quasi-solid-state electrolyte can present up to 4.0% of light-to-electricity conversion efficiency. Meanwhile, the interfacial recombination at TiO2/electrolyte interface of the cell is also investigated by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS).  相似文献

In this work, a novel amperometric biosensor based on carbon nanoplatelets derived from ground cherry (Physalis peruviana) husks (GCHs-CNPTs) is reported for the sensitive and selective detection of ascorbic acid (AA). The structure of the nanoplatelets, the oxygen-containing groups and edge-plane-like defective sites (EPDSs) on the GCHs-CNPTs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The presence of GCHs-CNPTs with a high density of EPDSs effectively enhances the electron transfer between AA and the glassy carbon electrode (GCE), and thus induces a substantial decrease in the overvoltage for AA oxidation compared with both a bare GCE and a GCE modified with carbon nanotubes (CNTs/GCE). In particular, an amperometric biosensor based on GCHs-CNPTs exhibited a wider linear range (0.01–3.57 mM), higher sensitivity (208.63 μA mM 1 cm 2), a lower detection limit (1.09 μM, S/N = 3) and better resistance to fouling for AA determination compared to a CNTs/GCE. The great potential of the GCHs-CNPTs/GCE for practical and reliable AA analysis was demonstrated by the successful determination of AA in samples taken from a medical injection dose and a soft drink.  相似文献

Formation of CdS quantum dots (Q dots) on the vertically aligned ZnO nanorods electrode was carried out by chemical bath deposition. The diameter and thickness of ZnO nanorods are ~100–150 nm and ~1.6 μm, respectively, and CdS Q dots on ZnO nanorods have a diameter of smaller than 15 nm. In application of the Q dots-sensitized solar cells, composite film exhibited a power conversion efficiency of 0.54% under air mass 1.5 condition (80 mW/cm2), and incident-photon-to-current conversion efficiency showed 18.6%.  相似文献

The undoped and Mg-doped ZnO ceramics have been successfully synthesized using the conventional solid state sintering method. The doping effect of MgO content on the structural properties of ZnO/MgO composites has been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The XRD patterns reveal that all the samples are polycrystalline and have a prominent hexagonal crystalline structure with (002) and (101) as preferred growth directions. The formation of the hexagonal ZnMgO alloy phase and the segregation of MgO-cubic phase took place for an MgO composition x  20 wt%. This finding is in good agreement with the Raman spectroscopy measurements which prove the existence of multiple-order Raman peaks originating from ZnO-like and MgO phonons. The band gap energy and the carrier concentration of ZnO pellets were found to be dependent upon the Mg doping whose values vary from 3.287 to 3.827 eV and from 1.6 × 1017 to 5.2 × 1020 cm−3, respectively.  相似文献

Large-scale uniform aligned ZnO nanorods with a hexagonal tip were successfully synthesized via a facile process at low temperature of (~140 °C) without using any additives and substrate. The process is based on a simple reaction of zinc powder and de-ionized water. The results reveal that the as-prepared ZnO products have an average length of 10 μm and a diameter in the range of 50–260 nm, possessing a single crystal wurtzite structure. The structure and morphology of the ZnO products are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX). The possible formation mechanism of nanorods is proposed in brief. The optical properties of grown products were characterized by room-temperature. The magnetic property was tested with a vibrating sample magnetometer at room temperature and revealed a high hysteresis loop indicating a strong ferromagnetic nature of as synthesized ZnO nanorods. The yield producing nanorods with this method includes ease, flexibility, fast being low cost and ineffective on environment free.  相似文献
