The well-known tetradentate ligand 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate(2-), (bpb)2-, and its 4,5-dichloro analogue, (bpc)2-, are shown to be "noninnocent" ligands in the sense that in coordination compounds they can exist in their radical one- and diamagnetic two-electron-oxidized forms (bpbox1)- and (bpbox2)0 (and (bpcox1)- and (bpcox2)0), respectively. Photolysis of high-spin [(n-Bu)4N][FeIII(bpb)(N3)2] and its (bpc)2- analogue in acetone solution at room temperature generates the diamagnetic dinuclear complex [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)2(N3)2] and its (bpc)2- analogue; the corresponding cyano complex [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)2(CN)2] has been prepared via N3- substitution by CN-. Photolysis in frozen acetonitrile solution produces a low-spin ferric species (S = 1/2) which presumably is [FeIII(bpbox2)(N)(N3)]-, as has been established by EPR and M?ssbauer spectroscopy. The mononuclear complexes [(n-Bu)4N][FeIII(bpb)(CN2)] (low spin), [Et4N][CoIII(bpb)(CN)2] and Na[CoIII(bpc)-(CN)2].3CH3OH can be electrochemically or chemically one-electron-oxidized to give [FeIII(bpbox1)(CN)2]0 (S = 0), [CoIII(bpbox1)(CN)2]0 (S = 1/2), and [CoIII(bpcox1)(CN)2]0 (S = 1/2). All complexes have been characterized by UV-vis, EPR, and M?ssbauer spectroscopy, and their electro- and magnetochemistries have been studied. The crystal structures of [(n-Bu)4N][FeIII(bpb)(N3)2].1/2C6H6CH3, Na[FeIII(bpb)(CN)2], Na[CoIII(bpc)(CN)2].3CH3OH, [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)2(CN)2], and [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)(N3)2] have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Using the tricyano precursor (Bu(4)N)[(Tp)Cr(CN)(3)] (Bu(4)N(+) = tetrabutylammonium cation; Tp = tris(pyrazolyl)hydroborate), a pentanuclear heterometallic cluster [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Cu(3)(Me(3)tacn)(3)][(Tp)Cr(CN)(3)](ClO(4))(3)·5H(2)O (1, Me(3)tacn = N,N',N'-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane), three tetranuclear heterometallic clusters [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Cu(2)(L(OEt))(2)]·2.5CH(3)CN (2, L(OEt) = [(Cp)Co(P(O)(OEt)(2))(3)], Cp = cyclopentadiene), [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Mn(2)(L(OEt))(2)]·4H(2)O (3), and [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Mn(2)(phen)(4)](ClO(4))(2) (4, phen = phenanthroline), and a one-dimensional (1D) chain polymer [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Mn(bpy)](n) (5, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Complex 1 shows a trigonal bipyramidal geometry in which [(Tp)Cr(CN)(3)](-) units occupy the apical positions and are linked through cyanide to [Cu(Me(3)tacn)](2+) units situated in the equatorial plane. Complexes 2-4 show similar square structures, where Cr(III) and M(II) (M = Cu(II) or Mn(II)) ions are alternatively located on the rectangle corners. Complex 5 consists of a 4,2-ribbon-like bimetallic chain. Ferromagnetic interactions between Cr(III) and Cu(II) ions bridged by cyanides are observed in complexes 1 and 2. Antiferromagnetic interactions are presented between Cr(III) and Mn(II) ions bridged by cyanides in complexes 3-5. Complex 5 shows metamagnetic behavior with a critical field of about 22.5 kOe at 1.8 K.  相似文献

Several MnII compounds with phenylcyanamido ligands have been synthesized and characterized by means of single-crystal X-ray structural determination. The reported compounds show a wide variety of nuclearity from mononuclear and dinuclear systems to 1D chains and 2D networks in which X-phenylcyanamide (X-pcyd) anions act as the bridging ligand. Mononuclear compound [Mn(H2O)2(4-bzpy)2(3-Cl- pcyd)2] (2) crystallizes in the monoclinic system, P21/a space group, dinuclear compounds (mu 1,3-3-Cl-pcyd)2[Mn(2,2'-bpy)(3-Cl-pcyd)(MeOH)]2 (2) and (mu 1,3-3-Cl-pcyd)2[Mn(2,2'-bpy)(3-Cl-pcyd)(EtOH)]2 (3) crystallize in the triclinic system, P1 space group, 1D chain [(mu 1,3-4-Cl-pcyd)2[Mn(2,2'-bpy)]]n (4) crystallizes in the monoclinic system, /2/a space group, and 2D network [Mn(mu-4,4'-bpy)(mu 1,3-3-F-pcyd)2]n (5) crystallizes in the monoclinic system, C2 space group. Susceptibility measurements on compounds 2-4 reveal moderate antiferromagnetic coupling in all cases. MO calculations have been made to elucidate the main factors that control the superexchange pathway for this kind of ligand. Comparison of their magnetic behavior with that of related ligands such as azido and dicyanamido is reported.  相似文献

The salts [NEt4][Ru(CN)(CO)2L(o-O2C6Cl4)] {L=PPh3 or P(OPh)3}, which undergo one-electron oxidation at the catecholate ligand to give neutral semiquinone complexes [Ru(CN)(CO)2L(o-O2C6Cl4)], react with the dimers [{Ru(CO)2L(micro-o-O2C6Cl4)}2] {L=PPh3 or P(OPh)3} to give [NEt4][(o-O2C6Cl4)L(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2L'(o-O2C6Cl4)] {L or L'=PPh3 or P(OPh)3}. The cyanide-bridged binuclear anions are, in turn, reversibly oxidised to isolable neutral and cationic complexes [(o-O2C6Cl4)L(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2L'(o-O2C6Cl4)] and [(o-O2C6Cl4)L(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2L'(o-O2C6Cl4)]+ which contain one and two semiquinone ligands respectively. Structural studies on the redox pair [(o-O2C6Cl4)(Ph3P)(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2(PPh3)(o-O2C6Cl4)]- and [(o-O2C6Cl4)(Ph3P)(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2(PPh3)(o-O2C6Cl4)] confirm that the C-bound Ru(CO)2(o-O2C6Cl4) fragment is oxidised first. Uniquely, [(o-O2C6Cl4){(PhO)3P}(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2(PPh3)(o-O2C6Cl4)]- is oxidised first at the N-bound fragment, indicating that it is possible to control the site of electron transfer by tuning the co-ligands. Crystallisation of [(o-O2C6Cl4)(Ph3P)(OC)2Ru(micro-CN)Ru(CO)2{P(OPh)3}(o-O2C6Cl4)] resulted in the formation of an isomer in which the P(OPh)3 ligand is cis to the cyanide bridge, contrasting with the trans arrangement of the X-Ru-L fragment in all other complexes of the type RuX(CO)2L(o-O2C6Cl4).  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the Fe(III) complex of a novel crown ether-porphyrin conjugate, 52-N-(4-aza-18-crown-6)methyl-54,104,154,204-tetra-tert-butyl-56-methyl-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (H2Porph), as well as the corresponding hydroxo, dimeric, Fe(II), and peroxo species are reported. The crystal structure of [FeIII(Porph)Cl].H3O+.FeCl4-.C6H6.EtOH is also reported. [FeIII(Porph)(DMSO)2]+ and K[FeIII(Porph)(O22-)] are high-spin species (M?ssbauer data: delta = 0.38 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 0.83 mm s(-1) and delta = 0.41 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 0.51 mm s(-1), respectively), whereas in a solution of reduced [FeIII(Porph)(DMSO)2]+ complex the low-spin [FeII(Porph)(DMSO)2] (delta = 0.44 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 1.32 mm s(-1)) and high-spin [FeII(Porph)(DMSO)] (delta = 1.27 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 3.13 mm s(-1)) iron(II) species are observed. The reaction of [FeIII(Porph)(DMSO)2]+ with KO2 in DMSO has been investigated. The first reaction step, involving reduction to [FeII(Porph)(DMSO)2], was not investigated in detail because of parallel formation of an Fe(III)-hydroxo species. The kinetics and thermodynamics of the second reaction step, reversible binding of superoxide to the Fe(II) complex and formation of an Fe(III)-peroxo species, were studied in detail (by stopped-flow time-resolved UV/vis measurements in DMSO at 25 degrees C), resulting in kon = 36 500 +/- 500 M(-1) s(-1), koff = 0.21 +/- 0.01 s(-1) (direct measurements using an acid as a superoxide scavenger), and KO2- = (1.7 +/- 0.2) x 10(5) (superoxide binding constant kinetically obtained as kon/koff), (1.4 +/- 0.1) x 10(5), and (9.0 +/- 0.1) x 10(4) M(-1) (thermodynamically obtained in the absence and in the presence of 0.1 M NBu4PF6, respectively). Temperature-dependent kinetic measurements for kon (-40 to 25 degrees C in 3:7 DMSO/CH3CN mixture) yielded the activation parameters DeltaH = 61.2 +/- 0.9 kJ mol(-1) and DeltaS = +48 +/- 3 J K(-1) mol(-1). The observed reversible binding of superoxide to the metal center and the obtained kinetic and thermodynamic parameters are unique. The finding that fine-tuning of the proton concentration can cause the Fe(III)-peroxo species to release O2- and form an Fe(II) species is of biological interest, since this process might occur under very specific physiological conditions.  相似文献

The reaction of Fe2+ with CN-, which was first performed in 1704, has been used to synthesize a new series of basic [FeII,III(CN)4L2]n- complexes, where L is a monodentate ligand. trans-Na2[FeII(CN)4(DMSO)2] and cis-[NEt4]2[FeII(CN)4(pyridine)2] are synthesized by the direct reaction of FeCl2 with 4 equiv of CN- in DMSO or pyridine. Air oxidation of the latter compound gives cis-[NEt4][FeIII(CN)4(pyridine)2]. The non-cyanide ligands in these complexes undergo facile ligand exchange reactions with solvent. Reaction of cis-[NEt4]2[FeII(CN)4(pyridine)2] with CO at room temperature gives trans-[NEt4]2[FeII(CN)4(pyridine)(CO)].  相似文献

Functional systems that combine redox-active metals and noninnocent ligands are no longer rare chemical oddities; they are instead emerging as significant components of catalytic and enzymatic reactions. The present work examines the synthetic and functional aspects of iron compounds ligated by a family of new trisamidoamine ligands of the type [(RNC6H4)3N]3- (L1). When R is the electron-rich 4-t-Bu-Ph moiety, the ligand can undergo oxidative rearrangement and store oxidizing equivalents under specific conditions. Starting ferrous complexes of the general formula [(L1)FeIIsolv]- (solv=CH3CN, dimethylformamide) can be easily oxidized (a) by dioxygen to afford the corresponding [(L1)FeIIIOH]- complexes, featuring several cases of terminal hydroxo units, and (b) by organochlorides (R-Cl) to provide [(L1)FeIIIsolv] congeners and coupled R-R products. Efforts to synthesize [(L1)FeIII-O-FeIII(L1)]2- by using [Cl3FeIII-O-FeIIICl3]2- indicate that intrinsic FeIIICl units can oxidatively rearrange the ligand to afford [(L1re)(Cl)FeII][Et4N]2, although the oxidizing equivalent is not retained. Compound [(L1re)(Cl)FeII][Et4N]2 can be further oxidized to [(L1re-2)(Cl)FeIII][Et4N] by CH2Cl2. Finally, oxidation of [(L1)FeIIIsolv] by FeCl3 affords [(L1reH)(Cl)FeII(micro-Cl)2FeII(Cl)(L1re-2H)], which features a similar ligand rearrangement that also gives rise to a diamagnetic, doubly oxidized moiety. These results underscore the complexity of chemical transformations available to systems in which both the metal and the ligand are redox-active entities.  相似文献

The kinetic inertness of the hexaaquachromium(III) (kH2O=2.4x10(-6) s(-1)) has led to challenges with respect to incorporating CrIII ions into Prussian blue-type materials; however, hexakis(acetonitrile)chromium(III) was shown to be substantially more labile (approximately 10(4) times) and enables a new synthetic route for the synthesis of these materials via nonaqueous solvents. The synthesis, spectroscopic, and physical properties of Cr[M(CN)6] (M=V, Cr, Mn, Fe) Prussian blue analogues synthesized from [CrIII(NCMe)6]3+ and the corresponding [MIII(CN)6]3- are described. All these compounds {(NEt4)0.02CrIII[VIII(CN)6]0.98(BF4)(0.08).0.10MeCN (1), CrIII[CrIII(CN)6].0.16MeCN (2), CrIII[MnIII(CN)6].0.10MeCN (3), and (NEt4)0.04CrIII0.64CrIV0.40[FeII(CN)6]0.40[FeIII(CN)6]0.60(BF4)(0.16).1.02MeCN (4)} are ferrimagnets exhibiting cluster-glass behavior. Strong antiferromagnetic coupling was observed for M=V, Cr, and Mn with Weiss constants (theta) ranging from -132 to -524 K; and in 2, where the strongest coupling is observed (theta=-524 K), the highest Tc (110 K) value was observed. Weak antiferromagnetic coupling was observed for M=Fe (theta=-12 K) leading to the lowest Tc (3 K) value in this series. Weak coupling and the low Tc value observed in 4 were additionally contributed by the presence of both [FeII(CN)6]4- and [FeIII(CN)6]3- as confirmed by 57Fe-M?ssbauer spectroscopy.  相似文献

Novel mixed bis(alkynyl)bis(cyano)platinate(II) species [cis-Pt(Ctbond;CR)(2)(CN)(2)](2-) (1 a: R = tBu, 1 b: R = Ph) have been prepared and their potential as building blocks in the generation of self-organized systems with a variable molecular architecture has been studied. The reaction of 1 with the ditopic acceptor species [[cis-Pt(C(6)F(5))(2)S](2)(dppa)] (dppa=diphenylphosphinoacetylene) gave the dianionic cyanide/dppa bridged molecular platinotriangles (NBu(4))(2)[(C(6)F(5))(2)Pt(micro-dppa)[(micro-CN)(2)Pt(Ctbond;CR)(2)]Pt(C(6)F(5))(2)] (2). X-ray analysis of 2 a confirmed that the "Pt(2)(C(6)F(5))(4)(micro-dppa)" binuclear moiety is connected to the dianionic "Pt(Ctbond;CR)(2)(CN)(2)" unit by two bridging cyanide ligands. Moreover, treatment of 1 with the solvent cationic species [M(cod)(acetone)(2)](+) afforded heterometallic molecular squares Pt(2)M(2) (M=Rh, Ir) containing cyanide bridges and terminal alkynyl ligands, (NBu(4))(2)[cyclo[[cis-Pt(Ctbond;CR)(2)(micro-CN)(2)][M(cod)]](2)] (3: M=Rh, 4: M = Ir). The solid-state structures of phenyl derivatives have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The terminal alkynyl ligands in these cyanide-bridged molecular squares 3 and 4 have been used in the assembly of higher multimetallic complexes. Thus, very unusual bis(double-alkynide)-cyanide-bridged hexametallic compounds (NBu(4))(2)[[(C(6)F(5))(2)Pt(micro-Ctbond;CPh)(2)(micro-CN)(2)](2)[M(cod)](2)] (5 b: M=Rh, 6 b: M = Ir) were easily formed by simple reactions of 3 b and 4 b with two equivalents of [cis-Pt(C(6)F(5))(2)(thf)(2)]. An X-ray diffraction study on complex 5 b indicated that the derivative was formed by a simultaneous migration of one sigma-alkynyl group from each "Pt(Ctbond;CPh)(2)(micro-CN)(2)" corner of the square to both "Pt(C(6)F(5))(2)" units, resulting in bent sigma,pi-double-alkynyl bridging systems. Finally, the novel supramolecular anionic assemblies (NBu(4))(4)[cyclo[[cis-Pt(Ctbond;CR)(2)(micro-CN)(2)][SnPh(3)]](4)] 7 have been obtained by self-assembly of 1 and [SnPh(3)(acetone)(2)](+).  相似文献

The reaction of the ligand N-phenyl-1,2-benzenediamine (N-phenyl-o-phenylenediamine), H2[L(PDI)], in dry acetonitrile with [FeIII(dmf)6](ClO4)3 (dmf = N,N-dimethylformamide) affords the dimer (mu-NH,NH)[FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))]2 (1), where (L(ISQ))*- represents the pi radical monoanion N-phenyl-o-diiminobenzosemiquinonate and (L(PDI))2- is its one-electron-reduced, closed-shell form. Complex 1 possesses a diamagnetic ground-state St = 0. Addition reactions of tri-n-butylphosphane, tert-butyl isocyanide, cyclohexyl isocyanide, 4,5-diphenylimidazole, and 4-(1-phenylpentyl)pyridine with 1 in acetonitrile or toluene yields [FeII(L(ISQ))2(PBu3)] (2), [Fe(II)(L(ISQ))2(CN-tBu)] (4), [FeII(L(ISQ))2(CNCy)] (5), [FeIII(L(ISQ))2(Ph2Im)] (6), and [FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))(BuPhCH-py)].BuPhCH-py (7). Oxidation of 1 with iodine affords [FeIII(L(ISQ))2I] (3), and oxidation of 2 with ferrocenium hexafluorophosphate yields [FeIII(L(ISQ))2(PBu3)](PF6) (2ox). The structures of complexes 2, 2ox, 3, 5, 6, and 7 have been determined by X-ray crystallography at 100(2) K. Magnetic susceptibility measurements and EPR, UV-vis, and M?ssbauer spectroscopy have established that mononuclear complexes containing the [FeII(L(ISQ))2X] chromophore (2, 4, 5) are diamagnetic (St = 0) whereas those with an [FeIII(L(ISQ))2X]n chromophore (3, 2(ox), 6) are paramagnetic (St = 1/2) and those with an [FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))X] chromophore (7) possess an St = 1 ground state. It is established that all ferric species have an intrinsic intermediate spin (SFe = 3/2) which is intramolecularly antiferromagnetically coupled to one or two (L(ISQ))*- ligand radicals yielding an St = 1 (7) or St = 1/2 (2ox, 3, 6) ground state, respectively. In the ferrous complexes 2, 4, and 5 the intrinsic spin at the iron ion is either low spin (SFe = 0) or intermediate spin (SFe = 1). Antiferromagnetic coupling between two radicals (L(ISQ))*- or, alternatively, between the intermediate spin ferrous ion and two radicals yields then the observed diamagnetic ground state. In 1 two [FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))] halves with S = 1 couple antiferromagnetically affording an St = 0 ground state.  相似文献

Cyano-bridged homometallic complex [Ni(baepn)(CN)](n)(ClO(4))(n)(1) and bimetallic complex [Ni(baepn)](2)(n)[Fe(CN)(6)](n)(H(2)O)(8)(n)(2) [baepn = N,N'-bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,3-propanediamine] were synthesized and characterized. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n with a = 9.560(3) A, b = 10.700(3) A, c = 14.138(9) A, beta = 90.18(6) degrees, and Z = 4; 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 8.951(2) A, b = 13.672(3) A, c = 14.392(3) A, beta = 98.906(4) degrees, and Z = 4. The complex 1 has one-dimensional structure whose chain vector runs along the b axis with baepn ligands and perchlorate anions alternately arranged up and down in the c direction. The antiferromagnetic nature of 1 was explained in terms of the infinite chain model and Haldane gap, giving g = 2.33, J = -29.4 cm(-1), and the magnitude of Haldane gap E(g) = 5.22 K. The complex 2 that constitutes the first example of 2-D bimetallic assembly of Ni(II) ion and ferrocyanide anion is composed of the neutral layers based on the [Ni(4)Fe(4)] square grid spanning in the bc plane. For 2, the analysis with the Curie-Weiss law in 2-300 K range results in THETA = 0.200 K and the magnetism was explained in terms of the ability of ferrocyanide in the -Ni-NC-Fe-CN-Ni unit to promote ferromagnetic Ni-Ni interaction.  相似文献

Side-on eta2-peroxo-iron porphyrins are strong nucleophiles. In cytochrome P450-like aromatase and other enzymes, such species are postulated as the active oxidants. In cytochrome c oxidase, hemea3-peroxo, hemea3-hydroperoxo, or hemea3-(mu-peroxo)-copper species are proposed as transient intermediates forming prior to O-O bond cleavage. In this report, we describe (1) a facile method for reduction of a heme-O2 species [(F8TPP)FeIII(O2-)(S)] (2), generating the ferric peroxo porphyrin complex [(F8TPP)FeIII(O22-)]- (3) (UV-vis, THF: lambdamax = 435 (Soret), 540(sh), 561; EPR: g = 8.7, 4.2), and (2) that this can be subsequently reacted with a ligand-copper(II) complex, [CuII(TMPA)-(CH3CN)](ClO4)2 (4), affording a heme-peroxo-copper heterobinuclear compound, [(F8TPP)FeII(O22-)-CuII(TMPA)](ClO4) (5). Generation of [(F8TPP)FeIII(O22-)]- (3) using cobaltocene as a one-electron reductant was monitored by UV-vis, EPR, and 1H NMR spectroscopies. Reaction between 3 and 4 was followed by UV-vis spectroscopy, and the product 5 could be precipitated and characterized. Coordination by copper(II) in 5 makes possible further reduction of the mu-peroxo complex by cobaltocene yielding the mu-oxo analogue, [(F8TPP)FeIII(O2-)-CuII(TMPA)](ClO4) (6).  相似文献

The synthesis, structures, and magnetic properties of four cyano-bridged M(II)Ru(III)2 compounds prepared from the paramagnetic Ru(III) building blocks, trans-[Ru(salen)(CN)2]- 1 [H2salen = N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylideneimine)] and trans-[Ru(acac)2(CN)2]- (Hacac = acetylacetone), are described. Compound 2, {Mn(CH3OH)4[Ru(salen)(CN)2]2}.6CH3OH.2H2O, is a trinuclear complex that exhibits antiferromagnetic coupling between Mn(II) and Ru(III) centers. Compound 3, {Mn(H2O)2[Ru(salen)(CN)2]2.H2O}n, has a 2-D sheetlike structure that exhibits antiferromagnetic coupling between Mn and Ru, leading to ferrimagnetic-like behavior. Compound 4, {Ni(cyclam)[Ru(acac)2(CN)2]2}.2CH3OH.2H2O (cyclam = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane), is a trinuclear complex that exhibits ferromagnetic coupling. Compound 5, {Co[Ru(acac)2(CN)2]2}n, has a 3-D diamond-like interpenetrating network that exhibits ferromagnetic ordering below 4.6 K. The linear-type heterometallic tetramers, [Mn(III)(2)(5-MeOsaltmen)(2)M(II)(2)(L)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2) x 2H(2)O (MII = Cu, 1a; Ni, 2a), where 5-MeOsaltmen(2-) = N,N'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene) bis(5-methoxysalicylideneiminate), and H(2)L = 3-{2-[(2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-amino]-2-methyl-propylimino}-butan-2-one oxime, have been synthesized and characterized from structural and magnetic points of view. These two compounds are isostructural and crystallize in the same monoclinic P2(1)/n space group. The structure has a [M(II)-NO-Mn(III)-(O)(2)-Mn(III)-ON-M(II)] skeleton, where -NO- is a linking oximato group derived from the non-symmetrical Schiff-base complex [M(II)(L)] and -(O)(2)- is a biphenolato bridge in the out-of-plane [Mn(2)(5-MeOsaltmen)(2)](2+) dimer. The solvent-free compounds, 1b and 2b, have also been prepared by drying of the parent compounds, 1a and 2a, respectively, at 100 degrees C under dried nitrogen. After this treatment, the crystallinity is preserved, and 1b and 2b crystallize in a monoclinic P2(1)/c space group without significant changes in their structures in comparison to 1a and 2a. Magnetic measurements on 1a and 1b revealed antiferromagnetic Mn(III)---Cu(II) interactions via the oximato group and weak ferromagnetic Mn(III)---Mn(III) interactions via the biphenolato bridge leading to an S(T) = 3 ground state. On the other hand, the diamagnetic nature of the square planar Ni(II) center generates an S(T) = 4 ground state for 2a and 2b. At low temperature, these solvated (a) and desolvated (b) compounds display single-molecule magnet behavior modulated by their spin ground state.  相似文献

Electrochemical and spectroscopic studies on [(dppm)(CO)(2)LMn(micro-XY)MnL'(NO)(eta(5)-C(5)R(4)Me)](+) show that systematic variation of the ligands L and L', of the cyclopentadienyl ring substituents R, and of the micro-CN orientation (XY = CN or NC) allows control of the order of oxidation of the two metal centres and hence the direction and energy of metal-metal charge-transfer (MMCT) through the cyanide bridge in the mixed-valence dications. Chemical one-electron oxidation of cis- or trans-[(dppm)(CO)(2)LMn(micro-NC)MnL'(NO)(eta(5)-C(5)R(4)Me)](+) with [NO][PF(6)] gives the mixed-valence dications trans-[(dppm)(CO)(2)LMn(II)(micro-NC)Mn(I)L'(NO)(eta(5)-C(5)R(4)Me)](2+) which show solvatochromic absorptions in the electronic spectrum, assigned to optically induced Mn(I)-to-Mn(II) electron transfer via the cyanide bridge.  相似文献

Two bis(amido)ruthenium(IV) complexes, [Ru(IV)(bpy)(L-H)(2)](2+) and [Ru(IV)(L)(L-H)(2)](2+) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, L = 2,3-diamino-2,3-dimethylbutane, L-H = (H(2)NCMe(2)CMe(2)NH)(-)), were prepared by chemical oxidation of [Ru(II)(bpy)(L)(2)](2+) and the reaction of [(n-Bu)(4)N][Ru(VI)NCl(4)] with L, respectively. The structures of [Ru(bpy)(L-H)(2)][ZnBr(4)].CH(3)CN and [Ru(L)(L-H)(2)]Cl(2).2H(2)O were determined by X-ray crystal analysis. [Ru(bpy)(L-H)(2)][ZnBr(4)].CH(3)CN crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n with a = 12.597(2) ?, b = 15.909(2) ?, c = 16.785(2) ?, beta = 91.74(1) degrees, and Z = 4. [Ru(L)(L-H)(2)]Cl(2).2H(2)O crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I4(1)/a with a = 31.892(6) ?, c = 10.819(3) ?, and Z = 16. In both complexes, the two Ru-N(amide) bonds are cis to each other with bond distances ranging from 1.835(7) to 1.856(7) ?. The N(amide)-Ru-N(amide) angles are about 110 degrees. The two Ru(IV) complexes are diamagnetic, and the chemical shifts of the amide protons occur at around 13 ppm. Both complexes display reversible metal-amide/metal-amine redox couples in aqueous solution with a pyrolytic graphite electrode. Depending on the pH of the media, reversible/quasireversible 1e(-)-2H(+) Ru(IV)-amide/Ru(III)-amine and 2e(-)-2H(+) Ru(IV)-amide/Ru(II)-amine redox couples have been observed. At pH = 1.0, the E degrees is 0.46 V for [Ru(IV)(bpy)(L-H)(2)](2+)/[Ru(III)(bpy)(L)(2)](3+) and 0.29 V vs SCE for [Ru(IV)(L)(L-H)(2)](2+)/[Ru(III)(L)(3)](3+). The difference in the E degrees values for the two Ru(IV)-amide complexes has been attributed to the fact that the chelating saturated diamine ligand is a better sigma-donor than 2,2'-bipyridine.  相似文献

The nickel coordination chemistry of a series of polytopic diazine (N-N) based ligands has been examined. Self-assembly reactions lead to examples of dinuclear, trinuclear, tetranuclear, pentanuclear, and octanuclear complexes, all of which exhibit magnetic exchange coupling, with antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic examples. Structural details are presented for [(L1)(2)Ni(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(4).3H(2)O (1), [(L2)(2)Ni(3)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(6).8H(2)O (2), [(L3)(4)Ni(4)(H(2)O)(8)] (NO(3))(4).8H(2)O (3), [(L4)(2)Ni(5)(H(2)O)(10)(NO(3))](NO(3))(7).8H(2)O (4), and [(L5)(4)Ni(8)(H(2)O)(8)](BF(4))(8).16H(2)O (5). Compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c, with a = 14.937(1) A, b = 18.612(2) A, c = 20.583(2) A, beta = 108.862(2) degrees, Z = 4. Compound 2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group P2(1)2(1)2, with a = 21.771(4) A, b = 13.700(2) A, c = 20.017(3) A, Z = 4. Compound 3 crystallizes in the tetragonal system, space group P4(3), with a = 12.9483(7) A, c = 33.416(3) A, Z = 4. Compound 4 crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P(-)1, with a = 12.6677(8) A, b = 18.110(1) A, c = 19.998(1) A, alpha = 100.395(1) degrees, beta = 109.514(1) degrees, gamma = 109.686(1) degrees, Z = 2. Compound 5 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n, with a = 21.153(5) A, b = 35.778(9) A, c = 21.823(5) A, beta = 97.757(6) degrees, Z = 4. The linear trinuclear Ni(II) complex (2) has a cis-N-N single bond bridge, and a water bridge linking the central Ni(II) to each external Ni(II) center in each of two similar trinuclear subunits, and exhibits intramolecular ferromagnetic exchange (J = 5.0 cm(-1)). A novel octanuclear metallacyclic ring structure exists in 5, with trans-N-N single bond bridges linking adjacent Ni(II) centers, leading to quite strong intramolecular antiferromagnetic exchange (J = -30.4 cm(-1)).  相似文献

Three-dimensional network structures of [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] (M = Cr, Fe, Co) composition have been formed and their magnetic properties characterized. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] (M = Cr, Fe, Co) have nu(CN) IR absorptions at 2138, 2116, and 2125 cm(-1) and have body-centered unit cells (a = 13.34, 13.30, and 13.10 A, respectively) with -M-Ctbd1;N-Ru=Ru-Ntbd1;C-M- linkages along all three Cartesian axes. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[Cr(III)(CN)(6)] magnetically orders as a ferrimagnet (T(c) = 33 K) and has an unusual constricted hysteresis loop.  相似文献

The complex Re(III)(benzil)(PPh(3))Cl(3) (2) is used to synthesize a variety of Re(III) and Re(II) polypyridyl complexes of the type cis-[Re(III)(L(2))(2)Cl(2)](+), [Re(II)(L(2))(3)](2+), Re(III)(L(3))Cl(3), [Re(III)(L(3))(2)Cl](2+), and [Re(III)(L(4))Cl(2)](+), where L(2) = bpy (3and 6), tbpy (4 and 7), phen (5 and 8); L(3) = terpy (9and 10); L(4) = TMPA (11). The complex cis-[Re(III)(bpy)(2)Cl(2)](+) (3) is a useful synthon in the formation of complexes of the type [Re(bpy)(2)L(x)()](n)()(+) that are six- or seven-coordinate Re(III) complexes (13, 16, and 18) or octahedral Re(II) or Re(I) complexes (12 and 17). The [Re(III)(terpy)(2)Cl](2+) (10) complex can be reduced to form the Re(I) complex, [Re(I)(terpy)(2)](+) (21) and then electrochemically reoxidized to form new complexes of the type [Re(III)(terpy)(2)L](n)()(+). Similar behavior is observed for the [Re(II)(bpy)(3)](2+) (6) complex where [Re(III)(bpy)(3)((t)BuNC)](3+) (20) and [Re(I)(bpy)(3)](+) (19) may be formed. The electrochemistry of these complexes is discussed in relation to their reactivity and the observed pi-acidity of the polypyridyl ligands. In addition, X-ray crystal structures for cis-[Re(III)(bpy)(2)Cl(2)]PF(6) (3) and [Re(I)(bpy)(3)]PF(6) (19) are reported. cis-[Re(III)(bpy)(2)Cl(2)]PF(6) (3, ReC(20)H(16)N(4)Cl(2)F(6)P) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with Z = 4 and lattice parameters a = 15.043(5) ?, b = 13.261(4) ?, c = 12.440(4) ?, and beta = 108.86(2) degrees at -100 degrees C. [Re(I)(bpy)(3)]PF(6) (19, ReC(30)H(24)N(6)F(6)P) crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group R&thremacr;c(h) (No. 167) with Z = 12 and lattice parameters a = 13.793(3) ? and c = 51.44(3) ? at -100 degrees C.  相似文献

The generation of metal cyanide ions in the gas phase by laser ablation of M(CN)(2) (M = Co, Ni, Zn, Cd, Hg), Fe(III)[Fe(III)(CN)(6)] x xH(2)O, Ag(3)[M(CN)(6)] (M = Fe, Co), and Ag(2)[Fe(CN)(5)(NO)] has been investigated using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. Irradiation of Zn(CN)(2) and Cd(CN)(2) produced extensive series of anions, [Zn(n)(CN)(2n+1)](-) (1 < or = n < or = 27) and [Cd(n)(CN)(2n+1)](-) (n = 1, 2, 8-27, and possibly 29, 30). Cations Hg(CN)(+) and [Hg(2)(CN)(x)](+) (x = 1-3), and anions [Hg(CN)(x)](-) (x = 2, 3), are produced from Hg(CN)(2). Irradiation of Fe(III)[Fe(III)(CN)(6)] x xH(2)O gives the anions [Fe(CN)(2)](-), [Fe(CN)(3)](-), [Fe(2)(CN)(3)](-), [Fe(2)(CN)(4)](-), and [Fe(2)(CN)(5)](-). When Ag(3)[Fe(CN)(6)] is ablated, [AgFe(CN)(4)](-) and [Ag(2)Fe(CN)(5)](-) are observed together with homoleptic anions of Fe and Ag. The additional heterometallic complexes [AgFe(2)(CN)(6)](-), [AgFe(3)(CN)(8)](-), [Ag(2)Fe(2)(CN)(7)](-), and [Ag(3)Fe(CN)(6)](-) are observed on ablation of Ag(2)[Fe(CN)(5)(NO)]. Homoleptic anions [Co(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) (n = 1-3), [Co(n)(CN)(n+2)](-) (n = 1-3), [Co(2)(CN)(4)](-), and [Co(3)(CN)(5)](-) are formed when anhydrous Co(CN)(2) is the target. Ablation of Ag(3)[Co(CN)(6)] yields cations [Ag(n)(CN)(n-1)](+) (n = 1-4) and [Ag(n)Co(CN)(n)](+) (n = 1, 2) and anions [Ag(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) (n = 1-3), [Co(n)(CN)(n-1)](-) (n = 1, 2), [Ag(n)Co(CN)(n+2)](-) (n = 1, 2), and [Ag(n)Co(CN)(n+3)](-) (n = 0-2). The Ni(I) species [Ni(n)(CN)(n-1)](+) (n = 1-4) and [Ni(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) (n = 1-3) are produced when anhydrous Ni(CN)(2) is irradiated. In all cases, CN(-) and polyatomic carbon nitride ions C(x)N(y)(-) are formed concurrently. On the basis of density functional calculations, probable structures are proposed for most of the newly observed species. General structural features are low coordination numbers, regular trigonal coordination stereochemistry for d(10) metals but distorted trigonal stereochemistry for transition metals, the occurrence of M-CN-M and M(-CN-)(2)M bridges, addition of AgCN to terminal CN ligands, and the occurrence of high spin ground states for linear [M(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) complexes of Co and Ni.  相似文献
