A complex number λ is called an extended eigenvalue of a bounded linear operator T on a Banach space B if there exists a non-zero bounded linear operator X acting on B such that XT=λTX. We show that there are compact quasinilpotent operators on a separable Hilbert space, for which the set of extended eigenvalues is the one-point set {1}.  相似文献

Weak compactness of the analytic composition operator f?fφ is studied on BMOA(X), the space of X-valued analytic functions of bounded mean oscillation, and its subspace VMOA(X), where X is a complex Banach space. It is shown that the composition operator is weakly compact on BMOA(X) if X is reflexive and the corresponding composition operator is compact on the scalar-valued BMOA. A concrete example is given which shows that BMOA(X) differs from the weak vector-valued BMOA for infinite dimensional Banach spaces X.  相似文献

A strictly increasing sequence (nk)k?0 of positive integers is said to be a Hilbertian Jamison sequence if for any bounded operator T on a separable Hilbert space such that supk?0‖Tnk‖<+∞, the set of eigenvalues of modulus 1 of T is at most countable. We first give a complete characterization of such sequences. We then turn to the study of rigidity sequences (nk)k?0 for weakly mixing dynamical systems on measure spaces, and give various conditions, some of which are closely related to the Jamison condition, for a sequence to be a rigidity sequence. We obtain on our way a complete characterization of topological rigidity and uniform rigidity sequences for linear dynamical systems, and we construct in this framework examples of dynamical systems which are both weakly mixing in the measure-theoretic sense and uniformly rigid.  相似文献

We consider the classes of “Grothendieck-integral” (G-integral) and “Pietsch-integral” (P-integral) linear and multilinear operators (see definitions below), and we prove that a multilinear operator between Banach spaces is G-integral (resp. P-integral) if and only if its linearization is G-integral (resp. P-integral) on the injective tensor product of the spaces, together with some related results concerning certain canonically associated linear operators. As an application we give a new proof of a result on the Radon-Nikodym property of the dual of the injective tensor product of Banach spaces. Moreover, we give a simple proof of a characterization of the G-integral operators on C(K,X) spaces and we also give a partial characterization of P-integral operators on C(K,X) spaces.  相似文献

The adjoint of a linear fractional composition operator acting on the classical Dirichlet space is expressed as another linear fractional composition operator plus a two rank operator. The key point is that, in the Dirichlet space modulo constant functions, many linear fractional composition operators are similar to multiplication operators and, thus, normal. As a particular application, we can easily deduce the spectrum of each linear fractional composition operator acting on such spaces. Even the norm of each linear fractional composition operator is computed on the Dirichlet space modulo constant functions. It is also shown that all this work can be carried out in the Hardy space of the upper half plane. This work was partially supported by Plan Nacional I+D Ref. BFM2000-0360 and Junta de Andalucía Ref. Well-bounded operators on nonreflexive Banach spaces   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Every well-bounded operator on a reflexive Banach space is of type (B), and hence has a nice integral representation with respect to a spectral family of projections. A longstanding open question in the theory of well-bounded operators is whether there are any nonreflexive Banach spaces with this property. In this paper we extend the known results to show that on a very large class of nonreflexive spaces, one can always find a well-bounded operator which is not of type (B). We also prove that on any Banach space, compact well-bounded operators have a simple representation as a combination of disjoint projections.

Let and be two analytic functions defined on such that. The operator given by is called a weighted composition operator. In this paper we deal with the boundedness, compactness, weak compactness, and complete continuity of weighted composition operators from a Hardy space H p into another Hardy space H q . We apply these results to study composition operators on Hardy spaces of a half-plane. Submitted: November 20, 2001.  相似文献

Bounded linear operators on separable Banach spaces algebraically similar to the classical Volterra operator V acting on C[0,1] are characterized. From this characterization it follows that V does not determine the topology of C[0,1], which answers a question raised by Armando Villena. A sufficient condition for an injective bounded linear operator on a Banach space to determine its topology is obtained. From this condition it follows, for instance, that the Volterra operator acting on the Hardy space Hp of the unit disk determines the topology of Hp for any p∈[1,∞].  相似文献

Let E be a separable Fréchet space. The operators T1,…,Tm are disjoint hypercyclic if there exists xE such that the orbit of (x,…,x) under (T1,…,Tm) is dense in E×?×E. We show that every separable Banach space E admits an m-tuple of bounded linear operators which are disjoint hypercyclic. If, in addition, its dual E is separable, then they can be constructed such that are also disjoint hypercyclic.  相似文献

Linear relations in the Calkin algebra for composition operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We consider this and related questions: When is a finite linear combination of composition operators, acting on the Hardy space or the standard weighted Bergman spaces on the unit disk, a compact operator?

This paper is a further contribution to the classification of linetransitive finite linear spaces. We prove that if ? is a non-trivial finite linear space such that the Fang-Li parameter gcd(k, r) is 9 or 10, and the group G ? Aut(?) is line-transitive and point-imprimitive, then ? is the Desarguesian projective plane PG(2, 9).  相似文献

Subspace hypercyclicity   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A bounded linear operator T on Hilbert space is subspace-hypercyclic for a subspace M if there exists a vector whose orbit under T intersects the subspace in a relatively dense set. We construct examples to show that subspace-hypercyclicity is interesting, including a nontrivial subspace-hypercyclic operator that is not hypercyclic. There is a Kitai-like criterion that implies subspace-hypercyclicity and although the spectrum of a subspace-hypercyclic operator must intersect the unit circle, not every component of the spectrum will do so. We show that, like hypercyclicity, subspace-hypercyclicity is a strictly infinite-dimensional phenomenon. Additionally, compact or hyponormal operators can never be subspace-hypercyclic.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the classes of disjoint hypercyclic and disjoint topologically mixing abstract degenerate (multi-term) fractional differential equations in Banach and Fréchet function spaces. We focus special attention on the analysis of abstract degenerate differential equations of first and second order, when we also consider disjoint chaos as a linear topological dynamical property. We provide several illustrative examples and applications of our abstract results.  相似文献

A notion of disjointness in arbitrary partially ordered vector spaces is introduced by calling two elements x and y disjoint if the set of all upper bounds of x + y and −xy equals the set of all upper bounds of xy and −x + y. Several elementary properties are easily observed. The question whether the disjoint complement of a subset is a linear subspace appears to be more difficult. It is shown that in directed Archimedean spaces disjoint complements are always subspaces. The proof relies on theory on order dense embedding in vector lattices. In a non-Archimedean directed space even the disjoint complement of a singleton may fail to be a subspace. According notions of disjointness preserving operator, band, and band preserving operator are defined and some of their basic properties are studied.  相似文献

In order to extend the theory of optimal domains for continuous operators on a Banach function space X(μ) over a finite measure μ, we consider operators T satisfying other type of inequalities than the one given by the continuity which occur in several well-known factorization theorems (for instance, Pisier Factorization Theorem through Lorentz spaces, pth-power factorable operators …). We prove that such a T factorizes through a space of multiplication operators which can be understood in a certain sense as the optimal domain for T. Our extended optimal domain technique does not need necessarily the equivalence between μ and the measure defined by the operator T and, by using δ-rings, μ is allowed to be infinite. Classical and new examples and applications of our results are also given, including some new results on the Hardy operator and a factorization theorem through Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

We study properties of Koszmider spaces and introduce a related notion of weakly Koszmider spaces. We show that if the space K is weakly Koszmider and C(K) is isomorphic to C(L) then L is also weakly Koszmider, but the analogous result does not hold for Koszmider spaces. We also show that a connected Koszmider space is strongly rigid.  相似文献

We prove that if X, Y are Banach spaces, Ω a compact Hausdorff space and U:C(Ω, X) → Y is a bounded linear operator, and if U is a Dunford-Pettis operator the range of the representing measure G(Σ) ? DP(X, Y) is an uniformly Dunford-Pettis family of operators and ∥G∥ is continuous at Ø. As applications of this result we give necessary and/or sufficient conditions that some bounded linear operators on the space C([0, 1], X) with values in c 0 or l p, (1 ≤ p < ∞) be Dunford-Pettis and/or compact operators, in which, Khinchin’s inequality plays an important role.  相似文献

We study the action of composition operators on Sobolev spaces of analytic functions having fractional derivatives in some weighted Bergman space or Hardy space on the unit disk. Criteria for when such operators are bounded or compact are given. In particular, we find the precise range of orders of fractional derivatives for which all composition operators are bounded on such spaces. Sharp results about boundedness and compactness of a composition operator are also given when the inducing map is polygonal.

A bounded linear operator T acting on a Banach space B is called weakly hypercyclic if there exists xB such that the orbit is weakly dense in B and T is called weakly supercyclic if there is xB for which the projective orbit is weakly dense in B. If weak density is replaced by weak sequential density, then T is said to be weakly sequentially hypercyclic or supercyclic, respectively. It is shown that on a separable Hilbert space there are weakly supercyclic operators which are not weakly sequentially supercyclic. This is achieved by constructing a Borel probability measure μ on the unit circle for which the Fourier coefficients vanish at infinity and the multiplication operator Mf(z)=zf(z) acting on L2(μ) is weakly supercyclic. It is not weakly sequentially supercyclic, since the projective orbit under M of each element in L2(μ) is weakly sequentially closed. This answers a question posed by Bayart and Matheron. It is proved that the bilateral shift on ?p(Z), 1?p<∞, is weakly supercyclic if and only if 2<p<∞ and that any weakly supercyclic weighted bilateral shift on ?p(Z) for 1?p?2 is norm supercyclic. It is also shown that any weakly hypercyclic weighted bilateral shift on ?p(Z) for 1?p<2 is norm hypercyclic, which answers a question of Chan and Sanders.  相似文献
